Popped in for pre gig drinks... great service, great vibe, brilliant Glasgow pub. Has had a makeover since the last time I was in & it was fab!

Superb drinkers pub. How pubs used to be, or should be. Pre drinks before a Fish concert at the O2. Bar manager put the juke box to free play and put Fish’s music on, what a good guy.

This pub is the opitomie of 'don't judge a book by it's cover'. The outside may not look the most inviting but once you go inside it is a great pub, with a great atmosphere and lots of memorabilia. 3 handpumps all with the local Fyne Ales

Were there for a short bit. Was an old time feel in the place. Very nice.

Flew up from London to watch teddy swimms at the 02 and finished the evening off here before back to the hotel Proppa old school boozer Was made to feel very welcome

Great pub. Good to see it's not changed much since the previous owner retired. In my opinion the new staff are not as good as before it changed hands.

Love this pub, it's like walking into the 1960s.

Some staff need to improve their Customers Service. Not about them being the boss but being of Service. If they don't have the skills then request help from the Senior team when have been there first years and still very passionate about their job. I will still visit because one incompetent person cannot change my mind from a place that is so welcoming 👌

This was my first time n a long time. An nothings much change. Part v the pint i got. Was tasteless for £4.40 not a city center pub or merchant pub this is disgusting. No wonder it's dead .regardless of the time I went n. Wed afternoon. I will never step foot n here again till they sort ther price out an the pint of t. Seriously get a grip

Fabulous Glasgow staple that used to be our local. Listed interior from the 60s and decades worth of memories on the walls (bar to the left, lounge to the right). Under new management the opening hours and drinks selection have been expanded but it’s still the same as ever. Bring cash - the Spar up the road has an ATM if you don’t carry any.

Used to be my favourite pub but since the clancys moved out the rot has set in. Just because it’s old and quirky doesn’t mean it should be so dirty. First time in last night for a while and horrified by the toilets, not just messy but really not clean. Kinda disappointed in the pint too , had a weird aftertaste ☹️ Guinness used to be legendary .staff are friendly enough but not the most efficient and Nice to see Joseph still there. Hopefully the new management give themselves a shake and realise that you can’t just keep running on reputation- please sort it.

A lovely pub! You meet the locals from the neighbourhood there. A lovely experience for me as a tourist from Germany. Great service and very friendly. I'd love to come back.

How pubs used to be and all the better for it. Well worth a visit. The Guinness is superb

Unfortunately, the Laurieston isn't the same pub that it once was. It's been overrun by hipsters, students and bar staff who are running the place into the ground – as a result, past regulars, including myself, are gradually being pushed out. The premises now looks dirty and past its sell-by date as opposed to what was a quirky retro bar run by competent owners who knew how to run a pub very well, whilst treating their customers with the utmost respect. The Laurieston has now fallen short of the mark in all these respects, and that is a travesty. Even many of the things that made this pub quirky, such as the old fashioned towel dispenser in the toilets, are now out of operation. I didn't really want to write this review but a once great pub has, again, fallen victim to unexperienced and poor management and is sadly falling into disrepair.

Good old school pub. Allways busy, good staff. Only thing to be aware of is they only take cash.

Went during week and a bit quiet but at weekends can be very busy as it's part of sub crawl for stag nights good atmosphere and cheap prices

Absolute gem of a place! Its like your transported back in time. Few older guys practicing their music at the back of the pub also made it even better. Can't wait to come back! Please never change!

Old style Glasgow bar, often full of curious visitors, but still has its own regulars. Very reasonable prices and friendly staff with some excellent pictures and artwork.

Went for a pint before the sheriff court. Nice and relaxing. Great staff , smashing pint 👍

We had some really nice cask ales from Fyne ales. We met a gentleman who was playing the gambling machine. He was very fortunate and won some money and he bought my wife and I a beer. That was very kind and generous of him.

Great place for a pint it's like stepping back to the 40tes 50tes and 60tes nothing has changed and hopefully will never change drop in you will enjoy 🍺🍺🍺🍺

Loved this bar, a real throwback

I passed outside with the intention of entering. It was disgustingly negative especially for a woman. In a fringe area I don't think I would pass there at night. A large man stood in the doorway. Otherwise I didn't try to enter.

A must to visit, what a treat to see it finally from inside

the toilet is to small with toilet paper every where and the toilet room is dirty

Great traditional pub, cash only Fyne Ales on cask and an extra special "middle Guinness" tap (genuinely really good, not overly cold like most Guinness is these days)

We visited Glasgow and this pub specifically. As we reached the 1960s style pub, it had the look of a building that had remained untouched. Inside, the walls were adorned with pictures from regular drinkers, both past & present. The wear on the Formica countertops displayed the proof of how many pints it had held in its years. The windows were draped with tarten curtains blocking the cold & dark January night. There was no music…..just the song of broad Glaswegian voices enjoying their Friday night drink & putting the world to rights. It wasn’t long before we were chatting with the barman, and making friends with the locals. The Laurieston - it’s Just A Pub 😉

Pie and peas and an amazing pint of ale. Such an iconic venue with amazing staff and beers.all priced very well

Only called in for one pint of Gunness and being from Ireland i am hard to please with my stout. I needed of worried , best pint I have had in Glasgow. The bar itself was tremendous, proper old school, which I love .Next time I am in Glasgow, I will spend a lot more time in this wonderful establishment.

An institution, cash only so be aware of this. Cash machine in a spar up the way. Good pints too.

Get there early or get there late. It's an impossible bar to find a seat or to find room for a group to stand without being in someone's way. It's still a wonderful place to visit for a pint and a cheerful visit with friends

Was in here prior to a gig at the O2 academy, had a great time speaking to the locals who in turn were friendly. It was very busy but the bar staff done a great job of refilling everyone's drinks. Proper bar. Cheers

Great place to have a pint. The atmosphere is rich and the bartenders and patrons are very friendly. Highly recommended if you are looking for an authentic pub.

Loved the place. Old school in modern times. The owner John gave us a tour and reminisced with us and it was great. Got served what he called 'fine dining at the Laurieston' consisting of a pie and sausage roll with gravy and peas. Excellent.
