Stan's Chinese Carry Out in Glasgow City

Worst Chinese I have ever had it was disgusting it didn’t even taste like a Chinese would have been better off with a microwave meal. Chicken in curry was weird texture Sauce was more basic than a packet mix. Chow main had no flavor at all. Salt and chilli chips was basically a bag of chips covered in hot curry powder with the odd slice of chilli Do not order from here waste of money only ordered from here as royal garden was closed what a mistake that was!

Stan's is my go-to Chinese, and I've been going for over 10 years. The food is always delicious, however, the last 2 weeks orders I've received the chicken in my curry has been really tough & I've not been able to eat it all. I'm hoping this is a temporary issue - perhaps there is a change of supplier / chef. The rest of my meal was top-notch.

Total rip off food way over priced hardly any meat food very bland telephoned in to complain and they weren't interested and specail chow main. 3 bits of meats full of cheap veg to make it look good also curry sauce was water down and tasteless won't be back stay well clear

Staff have no customer service skills especially when you complain. Ordered a special curry tonight. Might as well of used it to strip paint. Most spicy meal I've ever had, apart from that the meat is bland chicken is that cubed stuff mostly water. It's just not what it used to be. Do yourselves a favour n go elsewhere, there's plenty of better n cheaper in the area.

Curry, lemon chicken with some sides for the family. Food was all really tasty. Phoned ahead literally pulled up and they brought my order out so really smooth process.

Had to get on Saturday as closing due to the current situation. Fantastic food as always and looking forward to coming back when things are normal. Stan and his family have been operating here for almost 40 years, and 50 or so years in the area, thanks for your service!!

My whole family have been going to Stans for years and years, even before I was born. We all absolutely love it. They are the kindest and most accommodating people and will cater to whatever tastes you have and modify in any way you want. The food is outstanding, in particular their curries and salt and chilli chips - unreal! I have travelled and lived all over and never have I found a Chinese like it. The curry sauce is unreal and they match it to whatever spice you would like. It’s not just watery Mayflower like most others, it’s delicious. The chicken and king prawn curries are beyond amazing and fresh. They are so friendly and food is always made to order for collection considering how busy they are. They are such hard workers and do an amazing job. I couldn’t recommend it more!

My fav Chinese takeaway. Been coming here for years and the food is consistently good. Love their curries but I ask for mine extra hot as I don’t feel it is spicy enough normally. Staff are very friendly and polite but prepare to wait as they get busy around the weekends. I prefer to pick up as delivery times can be long.

Had carry outs from Stan’s fir many years but tonight’s was disgusting and went in the bin. Chicken mushroom with fried rice. The sauce was jelly and no matter how much I tried to mix it it remained as jelly. The chicken pieces were also soft and jelly like. Never again

Asked for a LARGE tub of curry sauce and was then asked would I like the large soup cup or a long silver container I said the LARGE soup cup was fine £2.50 and this is what you get would like to know what small looked like if that was large rip off to say the least!

It had been sometime since I had been. I'm beginning to understand why. I ordered a Chicken Maryland. The wife's go to dish when unsure what to order. When I picked it up I remember thinking small portions are a good thing. We rushed home food was very warm always a good sign. Plenty of chips. Not a good sign they were soggy and not very tasty. Half of these guys we're left in the bag. The chicken was well cooked and tasty but only one portion. I'd never seen a pineapple fritter or a banana fritter this small. The gammon was a slice of tinned something and unedable I'm afraid. I'm still baffled how they made the sausage spongy. The wife's face was a picture is that it. Austerity still rules in Stans. It may be a one off . But on this effort I have to say Stan I'm not a Fan.

Absolutely brilliant can't complain food is very nice everything is reasonably priced and tastes fantastic, staff are helpful when asked questions, highly recommend.

Have had many takeaways from stans and never disappointed. Best Chinese food I've had. Without a doubt the best salt and chilli chips you can get.

Husband used to have China Sea as his favourite Chinese curry but obviously they dont deliver. So we had been using Oriental Express but husband wasn't enjoying the curry so - even though i prefer their shredded crispy chicken - I gave Stans a go for him. The shredded crispy chicken is nice here.... but just not as good, neither is the fried rice thats why I gave it 4.... But husband gives it 5 for the curry! Ordered over the phone and it took 1.5 hours couple of weekends a go (was told an hour) but luckily wasn't in a particular hurry This time however we went into the shop and had it within 5 minutes (they were so busy couldnt get through on the phone but were driving past anyway). Polite service in the shop.

De repente a llevar sobre una base regular para un aperitivo antes de trabajar en modo "nightshift en la zona y siempre encontramos el personal y el servicio muy bueno.No hay normalmente una gran las comidas simplemente sal y patatas fritas, chili o un fuerte y caliente, pero munchie la comida siempre es muy agradable y los precios razonables.He probado la mayoría de las otras tiendas en la zona y este es sin duda el mejor con diferencia.

I will never go to this takeaway ever again. Not good quality food. It was bland, cold and not pleasant. Avoid. Not recommended in my opinion

I always used this as my chinese when I lived in Glasgow, I can't fault the food, lemon chicken and shredded crispy beef were always amazing and after being away for 7 yrs once again it was bloody amazing, Thank you!

felt the service was rubbish because I waited 45 mins for my order and when I complained the lady was cheeky about it. Then when I got home the food was very greasy and tasteless.

Basic take away food. Some times the food is nice and others it isn't. Good if you want cheap fast food. Chips are nice with sweet and sour sauce. Wouldn't come here that much

Delicious is all I can say about Stan's take aways. Delivery is always quick and your get good portions for the money you pay. My all time favourite is the Breast of Chicken off the bone with chips and gravy,,, delish...

I couldn't recommend this chinese takeaway enough! I'm a regular and get takeaways from here more often than I should lol! Everything I've had from here has always been amazing. My go to order when phoning a delivery is a 'Salt and Chilli box' which contains a pizza box filled with chips, mini spring rolls, chicken balls, and chicken wings all coated in salt and chilli seasoning. It also comes with a tub of curry sauce and a can of juice. With delivery it comes to just over £8. I can never finish a box so tend to share it.It's a great wee chinese, only thing that I would change is that the waiting time for food to be delivered is usually around the 45 minute mark, sometimes can be slightly longer so call ahead of time!

We have been going to this Chinese takeaway for years and it never disappoints, there is a reason it is always busy! Call and place your order before hand and pick it up as it can get extremely busy even on the week days.

Born and bred here in the North of Glasgow - Stans has always been our go to Chinese takeaway since the early 1980's :-) Sometimes, as with all places, it can be a wee bit hit and miss with some of the dishes, I don't know why that happens - not so good supplies maybe - never had to wait more than 30mins for a delivery tho, not in all those years....The BEST thing about Stans however is the curry sauce........ absolutely nowhere has curry sauce as good as Stans.. I don't know why theirs is so tasty compared to others!! My husband was very skeptical about it when he first visited Glasgow but now he's a Stans Curry sauce addict lol. I agree that the dry Chilli Salt stuff is amazing (chicken balls, chips etc). The best dishes I've had from there are: Salt n Chilli chicken balls, Chicken fried rice, Salt n Chilli Chips, ANY of the chow meins and of course the curry sauce (with onions!!!)Now I'm hungry.....

I only eat from this chinese now i have tried many others in the North and they are terrible compared to Stans! Rice is always fresh and not greasy chips are the best and asked how you would like them soft of crispy... The salt and chilli dishes are simply devine, You can also customize things and add or remove what you dont want this is what makes it the best! Also yeh the delievery time may take a while but to be honest id say thats a good sign as their constantly very busy means they have alot of custom so they cannot possibly be bad... I also appreciate the fact they only use chicken breast in their dishes with the exception of the wings etc... The staff are always super friendly have a good laugh with you and just do their job well! Keep it up stans and do not miss out on the chance to eat from the best !!!

Quite simply the best chinese take away in the north of Glasgow, been there for years and continues to serve the most delicious food every time.Arranged Stans to supply buffet for 25 people and delivered every item on the list with few extra dishes to sample free of charge.

Been going here since it opened and for twenty years I've been travelling 16 miles as round trip for a takeaway. Do I need to say more?The standard of Stan's food is wonderful and the staff are always cheery. I would recommend anything on the menu.

I haven't had a takeaway from here for years and had a menu out through the door today so we decided to give it a try. The salt and chili chicken wings were ok. The main dish, chili, salt and spicy chicken was just weird! The sauce was a thick yellow jelly! The chicken seemed very processed too. Gave it a chance but we won't be back.

Good takeaway. Food is great. Staff are friendly. Their crispy chicken is my favourite. My missus likes their chilli chicken! Only downside is the delivery time at the weekend so I usually collect. Tiny car park is usually rammed though.

Take my advice and spend your hard earned money elsewhere !!! I moved to the erea and tried stans,i gave it a 2/10 for the food,and a minus 10/10 for the front of house staff,your lucky to get a word from them,i even used a local indian take away called spices,and the people in spices told me that the staff from stans had told them that im a constant complainer,i did complain a few times,but if their food was to the standard of their prices,there would have been NO COMPLAINTS !!! and as for the gossiping,again,maybe they should concentrate on improving their food,instead of bad mouthing people who keep them in business...as for the people who have rated this take away as good, well im puzzled ...

Having grown up in Bishopbriggs I grew up eating here. Having moved out the area I was told that the family had moved on and they were no longer there. Fast forward 15 years and I ran into Stan who mentioned that he in fact still owns Stan's and they are still family run. I drove from the East End to try their food and was not disappointed. The girl behind the counter was pleasant and chatty despite the fact she had other customers and seemed slightly overwhelmed running in and out. The food was still pipping hot when I arrived home and the curry sauce was as I remembered, homemade and delicious with a kick. So glad to have my favourite takeway back. Now the petition to get them to deliver to the East End.

Food is quite good. However delivery can be very disappointing and not informed of time delay or any call to say they are having problems. Last couple of times I have waited over 1hr and 30 mins and then hit with cold food and no apology. Maybe the should think of customer service first before money.

have been going to stans since it opened many years ago and it has always been consistant and good, but three weeks ago ordered breast chicken curry fried rice chips and banana fritter,this is the same order we have had for years it was terrible the sauce was gooy and the banana fritter greasy we letit go as this was the first time ever and put it down to maybe a new cook or a mistake but on Sat 15th Dec we ordered the same again and it was the same as before we never ate it and i phoned the shop not to complain but to give some constructive critisism we did get an apoligy and told that next time it would,sadly there wont be a next time.Its sad because we feel we have lost a good local chinese carryout shop that we will not use ever again.

The food from this efficient and friendly carry-out restaurant is always delicious, fresh and tasty, as well as representing excellent value. There is no shortage of Chinese carry-out restaurants in the Bishopbriggs and Springburn areas, but this is unquestionably the best. In fact, when we are in the mood for Chinese food, I will drive past at least three other Chinese carry-out restaurants in order to get to Stan's, it really is that good! I guess that in the twenty-two years we have lived here we have enjoyed several hundred meals from Stan's, and we have never yet been disappointed. We will no doubt be back again very soon.

Stan's is the best Chinese carry-out restaurant in the north side of Glasgow. We have used them for over 20 years. The menu is extensive, the prices very reasonable and the food is superb. The set meals are brilliant, with the King prawn and Mushrooms, beef in Mandarin sauce and spare ribes especially noteworthy. Our daughter looks forward to a Stan's when she comes back from London - and we are only too happy to oblige.
