Wok Star in Glasgow City

Always love my weekend takeaway from Wok Star. The ribs are always amazing, plenty meat. Can't go wrong with a curry. I've had better salt n chilli chips, but they are still good. Order early on a Saturday as they can close off orders due to such high demand.

Just after having chicken chow main with gravy & spring rolls & prawn crackers yummy yummy still top takeaway in Glasgow

Was recommended this Chinese ordered home delivery was told it would be here at 5.15-6.00 arrived at 5 food wasn’t very hot the spicy prawn spring roll were defo very spicy the chicken curry and fried rice was tasty but the chips were reheated so didn’t eat them free prawn crackers but overall was overpriced

Wow just wow. I’ve recently moved back to Scotland and live 10 minutes away from Wokstar. Its been highly recommended by friends of mine so tonight I made my first order by phone and the staff member was so polite and took my order . On arrival it was so busy however even though it was busy the owner came out to meet me as it was my first time . This was so nice of him . My order was collected on time and I must say the portions were huge . The food tasted absolutely superb , especially the Beef green pepper black bean sauce . The beef was so tender and not one bit chewy . All full of flavor too. The breast chicken curry is also a winner and again very large portion and of course quality chicken in this dish . The curry sauce also tasty and full of flavor The Satay chicken spring roll starter was tremendous and the sauce that accompanied it was delicious. Salt and chilli chips. Black pudding balls. Chicken wings were also lovely. I will definitely be using Wokstar from Now on. Thank you all and I look forward to trying out more delicious dishes from the menu

Just had a chicken curry fried rice first time I have had a curry from wokstar the rice and curry sauce was very nice but the chicken was very tough I have had food in the past and it has been brilliant tad disappointed with it tonight

Decent Chinese food. Phone order went through great. Food arrived quickly considering it is all freshly cooked to order. Extremely generous portions.

Always great service with friendly staff. Food's amazing and reasonably priced. Love the chicken curry, satay curry, Singapore fine noodles and salt n chilli ribs (not all at once though!) Used it for years and would risk anywhere else. Highly recommended.

Mostly a very good, reliable take away that sells delicious food that arrives fairly quickly. Occasional issues due to their online ordering systems, ie it says the shop is open but you CANT make an order for delivery. Edit, this is the latest Sunday that your website says you're open, but you can't order anything for delivery or collection. I've been a loyal customer for years, and it's frustrating for those of us who need to rely on online delivery.

We organised a buffet for a christening . Fabulous service. Food was excellent. Great service. Highly recommend thE Wok Star.

Get a nice curry here it's a bit expensive though and you need to be quick because it closes early and it's also difficult to get through on the phone but like I said it's a nice curry

Rice was hard asked for non spicy snd I can’t eat it my daughter sweating cause it’s so hot never again waste of money

Worst service ever! Asked for the Halal Singapore Chow Mein without prawns and was told they had confirmed a special Singapore Chow mein, refusing that they could have misheard me. Instead of admitting fault, I was hung up on. Disgusting service!

Food was lovely as always. Tried to order on restraunts own website but it said they didn't deliver to us but ordering through just eat did. That would be my only gripe but other than that everything 5* service.

When The food arrived it was cold and no longer fresh tasting . I should also add that it was 10 minutes late . I ordered the same duck the day before and it arrived hot and fresh so I don’t know what the issue was but either way not happy and not sure if I’ll order again .

The best Chinese in Glasgow. Always great quality food with big portions for good value. Staff are always friendly and happy to assist if you need to make changes to the order

Chicken balls were over cooked chicken was so dry. Peking wasn't great. BBQ ribs were rotten and chow mein. only nice thing was the chips rice and crackers. Very disappointing and paying over £40 will not be ordering again

Received a satay sauce instead of a curry sauce. Have a peanut allergy. Fortunately was able to smell the difference when opened. Didn't eat any of the order as had no idea how much cross contamination could have been involved with the rest of the food. Would not risk ordering again.

Food was delicious! I understand they were really busy cos it was Christmas Eve, but 3 hours between ordering and delivery is ridiculous.

The chips were horrible and the chicken balls started off ok but some were spicy and some when I cut into them the chicken had a lot of connective tissue that wasn't cut out.

Waited 2 hours for delivery (half an hour later than expected - food arrived 30 mins after I had an update saying it was on its way). All food was cold and I don’t own a microwave to heat up. Food tasted inedible. Waste of time and money. No communication from the restaurant other than me asking for updates. Not received a refund either despite all of this.

Best Chinese had in years, WonTon soup had masses of flavour and a little Spicy. Spring Rolls were packed with flavour. Every Main had its own proper flavour and didn’t feel the need for gallons of water afterwards. Excellent 👌

Order very late delivered. No option to collect. One item missing and took far too long to get the item delivered to us which meant the rest of the meal was ruined while waiting. Not very apologetic and no offer of a refund for our inconvenience. Should be checking orders even if busy as a ten second check would have saved us having to wait ages for our whole order.

I love this restaurant The food is always excellent, the satay is fabulous, sauce is thick and full of flavour Only little niggle was that the chips I ordered didn’t arrive… but I guess these things happen on a busy Saturday night x

Food was good but 2hrs 25 mins for a delivery , called restaurant and no apology. Kids ended up having a toastie and going to bed as it was too late for them to have Chinese, won’t be back based on delivery time

Order arrived missing one portion of salt & chilli chips. There was very little chicken in the kung po chicken. Delivery was fast and friendly, and the chips and sauce in the kung po chicken was nice.

Used Wok Star when I lived in Mount Florida. Moved but still order from there. Never had a bad meal from it

Cannot fault the food, second time ordering from here and just as good (if not better) as the first. Order early because they are clearly popular but the wait is absolutely worth it. The spring rolls are incredible and are a meal in themselves - keep up the good work.

The food came a lot quicker than expected which was great, The Satay was absolutely amazing definitely a contender for best satay in Glasgow. The BBQ ribs were plentiful and the meat came off the bone with ease, The prawn toast was really nice great portion size and a small bag of prawn crackers. This was from set meal for 1 Option A,

After seeing the Chefs daughter showcase some of her Dads takeaway food on TikTok we we decided to travel from the North of Glasgow to try here, I can’t say I was disappointed the Salt & Chilli Chicken was beautiful - well seasoned with lots of fresh cut fried veg, cooked for the right amount of time. The Chicken Satay on Skewer was the nicest I’ve had in a while was the right amount of spice, nut taste & consistency. It’s hard trying to find a nice Satay in Glasgow these days. Would go back just for those two alone. The Chicken Balls also beautiful really crispy battery but soft in the middle with a nice slice of chicken. Plain Chow Mein was really good too. The only things we whernt Avid fans of where the Chicken Satay Spring Rolls, a bit too plain tasting they look the part but maybe instead of dipping sauce could put a tea spoon of satay sauce inside them once sliced?. The Chill Chips also, going by how good the Salt & Chilli Chicken was we where expecting these to be amazing. But they where still decent. I would return & would recommend anyone to try. The next time I’m going to try the is it Peking Crispy Beef? Not sure but it looks good. But plenty of leftovers from what we tried so it’s definitely worth its value. Also I Can’t believe some of the reviews on here also, you do realise these cooks & chefs in the back kitchen probably cook over 250 dishes on demand per night & various sides. Obviously a small % of that will be over salted or slightly over cooked but don’t write somewhere off your first time trying it, it could have been a slight mistake. I’ve Previously worked in a kitchen environment myself years ago so I know how stressful it can be.

First time trying here and will be making it our regular! Food was outstanding, delivery was 2 hours but that’s understandable due to how busy they are. Disgusting ! Would give no star if option to do so. Salt and chilli chips soggy, barbecue spare ribs glutinous and cold, satay chicken spring rolls 👍 Over an hour and a half wait, certainly not worth it. Never again !

By the time the food got here 2 hours later i wasn’t hungry. The chicken noodle soup was nice but the rest not so much, the chicken balls were soft and doughy not great.

Shredded chicken in chilli sauce was not chilli it was creamy and tasted sour? Spring rolls had zero filling was so so disappointing

I had to wait an hour and a half for the food and wasn't particularly happy...until I tasted the food. One of the best Chinese takeaways I've ever had - it was delicious. I would highly recommend a portion of the spring rolls and I'll definitely be ordering from here again only I'll collect next time...

Quicker than expected and super tasty. No complaints here!

I have always had great food from here however i was very disappointed tonight. The beef curry and prawn toast were perfect however the chicken with thin noodle was so salty i had to bin it. The chicken was extremely salty ( could have been too much soya sauce ) and could not be eaten. The salt and chilli chips were too salty and again had to go in the bin. Whilst i understand salt and chilli chips need salt in them this was just far too much salt the chips could not be eaten. I am not sure if it was a different chef tonight if it was i would say drastically reduce the salt and soya sauce or i will just need to go elsewhere for my chinese.

A no from me - sorry The quality is not the same as before. I regret ordering and will pass from now onwards. The halal singapore fried rice was like it was 2 days old and not tasty or fresh.

Good customer service. Wanted something different from the usual so she was very helpful. The satay curry was very nice would recommend it. Chow main is always nice here. Soup was ok. Wasn't to keen on the chilli chips but over all enjoyable dinner. Well done 👏

Just had food from here and I will definitely be back. Kimchi said to be honest and I am, it was great. If your like me and you judge a Chinese on its curry sauce then this is the place you wanna go. Chicken curry was amazing, great potion sizes too. Sauce amaze. Sweet n sour sauce also good and the chicken balls were nice n crispy. Defo be back! Soo good. Priced really well also!

Best Chinese about and quick delivery.

First time eating at wokstar & I wasn’t disappointed! I had a chicken noodle soup, portion of mini spring rolls, salt & pepper chicken, chips & curry sauce. The highlight of the meal was the salt & pepper chicken as you could tell the chicken was great quality & im always fussy when it comes to chicken. The chips wheee also great alongside the mini spring rolls which where 10/10. Overall fantastic service from the staff & will be back. Traveled 25 just pick up our order and it was worth it.

Leaving a review for my gran who visited the local town to see an old friend a couple weeks ago and has not shut up about this Chinese since.. said it was the best place she's ever tried the food arrived pretty quickly was all freshly cooked and piping hot and tasted delicious
