Went to the spa as a standalone afternoon tea and spa package. The afternoon tea was quite lovely, but the spa was just okay, and not really worth the money for it, slightly nicer than one attached to the local public swimming pool, but not double the price worth. Pool was pretty heavy on the chemicals, giving me sore eyes. Sauna and steam rooms were quite reasonable. Staff were lovely though, no reflection on them. Spa was nice enough as an add-on if you were staying as a guest in the hotel, but wouldn't recommend as a standalone experience.

Do not book this place for an event, a shambles of a day. I booked the mothers day Abba event for me, my mum and sister. People walked out of the event due to not eating or having to wait more than an hour for food before Abba came on and when Abba did - they did 40 minutes after coming on late due to people still waiting for food.. We did not bo enough food after a 30+ minute wait in which half of the food was not available and the food was nowhere near hot. People tried to gather as much on their plates after waiting so long. We have been told by Chris that it was operational challenges which is why there was chaos. I would be interested to know given there were 300+ guests, how many staff were supposed to work on that day because having 7 members of staff including serving, the bar and hostesses is nowhere near a situation where a few people called in sick resulting in few staff. I stand by that they clearly wanted to make a significant amount of money whilst cutting corners in food and staff. They also placed your staff in a terrible position, where some individuals were shouted at and in one case, resulted in your hostess being in tears. There was no manager around and it's ridiculous that management left it for staff on the day to deal with the fall out. I bet they don't have operational issues when they have a 300+ wedding. Whilst the act went ahead, the bitter taste in everyone's mouth from the chaos that was the food situation resulted in no one enjoying themselves during the act and even resulted in a boo from everyone when the act asked us to thank the staff. I have never visited Stanley House, even though I live in the Blackburn area, and i'll be honest, this experience has left a sour taste in mine and my families mouth to be offered a voucher to use at your establishment is nothing more than offensive for what took place that day.

Absolute shambles of a Mother's day event. Over hour and half wait for buffet queue lots of people didn't actually get to eat as ran out of food. Manager hid in kitchen and wouldn't come out. Totally spoilt our mother's day. Staff not interested in customers and not remotely interested in food allergies which where rang through three weeks before the event.

Just had the mothers day experience of Brunch with an Abba Tribute band! Not the best experience!!! Ran out of food, the worst service( and it don't blame the staff) management were no where to be seen!!! Almost everyone complained.....The group were OK but only did 50mins instead of hour and half. This was a gift from my daughters so felt really bad for them.....won't be returning!!

Mother’s Day Brunch, absolute disgrace. ‘Ultimate 2 Course Brunch’ what a joke £25 to queue for a poached egg or mushroom on toast. An hour and a half of standing in line still no food and then they ran out, never saw a sign of the second course, didn’t manage to get anything to eat at all. Wouldn’t say the tribute band were amazing either, inappropriately dressed for a family show. I would hope that refunds will be given to all those that have had their Mother’s Day spoiled, this should have been a day to remember spending time with the special ladies in your life and not remembering it for the shambles it was. Such a shame as the location is beautiful.

What an amazing venue, I visited for a spa trip with dinner and breakfast, the spa was one of the best I have visited and the food was excellent. I have food intolerances and I was made to feel very comfortable. All the staff were welcoming and friendly and the house and grounds are beautiful.

Wonderful place in lovely grounds. Massage was amazing. Sadly, our day was shortened due to a staff shortage, which couldn't be avoided. So we missed out on a full massage and facial. We would like to experience this. Thermal rooms were lovely, and the spa jazucci was very pleasant. There is a need for more towel and dressing gown holders downstairs, and more dry towels readily available to change when the others are wet. Food very nice.

A beautiful place to stay, we booked the Sunday retreat, 2 hours in the spa with your own allocated changing area, Sunday lunch and overnight stay. The Sunday lunch was lovely and they cater for gluten free and allergens, service was a little slow even though it was quiet in the restaurant, the food was really nice and well presented. A bottle of fizz is £40. The bar lounge area is small but lovely just lacked a bit of atmosphere.

Spa staff pleasant ,helpful. 4pm to 8pm Spa poor no maintenance obvious,lounger broken,left 3.no salt in salt steam room.no lights working in one steam room. Very poor dining experience. Asked if all choices on menu inclusive with spa package. YES.was the reply. Came after 10 mins for order. Asked for fish chipsplease. Answer have had none all week nor any fish pie. So come steak....... A long while later 15mins was told my colleague misinformed re all menu inclusive with spa package. As you now chose steak xtra 10 pounds each to be charged. Unbelievable obviously untrained staff ,we changed to burger 🍔. Was mince in bun .not good Waitress knocked partners prosecco glass over when collected starter dishes.No offer of would you like another????. Hence we left never to recommend or return.Only 1 other couple dining.????. Since have seen other reviews and no change......would give 1 star all round. Kathryn

We had a one night stay in January 25. The place and the hotel looks beautiful and modern. However we had have a not very pleasant stay. Firstly we were place in a room with accessibility that we didn't asked for, with all of the equipment in the bathroom that we didn't need. The wet room, got very wet after a shower and it became slippery, we needed to use the bigger towel on the floor to be able to walk safely. The kettle we had to plug it next to the bed. Furthermore, the TV didn't work, we were supposed to Chromecast, which we tried but it didn't work very well. We think it is too expensive for what they offer. Definitely we will never recommended it or comeback.

Not stayed as a guest, but had a spa day package inc. treatment and lunch and really loved this place. Great thermal suite, v clean and with little touches like extra towels, free drinks in the relaxation lounge etc. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lunch was generous and v tasty!

What an amazing experience. Worth every penny. Had the two hour thermal experience with a glass of fizz and light lunch. Staff are fab at their jobs, especially Rodriguez ( hope I've spelt it correctly ). He went over and above, very attentive, what a huge asset to the team. He was brilliant. Both courses ( soup and chicken) were presented beautifully and were stunning. Location and buildings are gorgeous. Wish I'd discovered this gem sooner. I will be back.

You have 364 days to change your mind if you were thinking of coming here for Christmas Dinner. A million miles away from the standards held there years ago. Barely roasted vegetables, luke warm, clueless staff, devoid of any atmosphere. Wine with your meal? Drinks with your meal?....forget being asked. Just avoid.

This is such a lovely place. Stayed one night for a wedding holding at the glass marquee. We stayed at the Manor House. Room 10 is really nice. Spacey with a cute recessed window and a nice view of the courtyard. The bathroom had both a footed tub and a shower. Breakfast was pretty much continental. Was glad to find they had halal sausages.

Lovely location with beautiful function rooms and a stunning Christmas tree in reception. Food was lovely but having pre ordered was disappointing that it wasn't all served together with many waiting for starters and one person waiting a long time for the main. Staff were super friendly though and very apologetic.

Booked a spa day, upon arrival the receptionist didn’t even greet us with “hello or welcome” no conversation at all. Didn’t make us feel welcome, very blunt and rude. I had also tried calling multiple times prior to coming and they do not pick up the phone. The spa was overcrowded, not relaxing at all. One lounger is also broken so there isn’t enough space for people to sit down. When we was leaving again receptionist didnt say goodbye or Thankyou or make any sort of conversation. Disappointing experience and not worth the money at all.

Visited last year with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law and had an amazing experience with the "A Taste of the Spa" package, so suggested Stanley House to my friends for our annual spa day. It's a stunning location and the service was as friendly and professional as it was last year. However, one of the steam rooms seemed to have something wrong with it as we were sat in complete darkness other than the lights under the seats, and one of the heated loungers was out of order. Obviously, these things happen and it can't be helped, but as it's a very small spa anyway, I did feel it took the shine off slightly compared to what I experienced last year. My main disappointment though, was the spa lunch. The menu was a lot more limited compared to what we were offered last year. And then after bragging to my friends about how big the Eton Mess was that we had last year, (it was a huge mountain in a bowl!), ours came as a little dollop in the middle of a tiny, rectangular plate.. Considering that the price of the "A Taste of the Spa" package has increased, it looks like you're getting less for your money now. The service at lunch was also very slow, and it really wasn't busy at the time either. I have to say the waiting staff were all very friendly and professional though. Considering that The Woodland Spa have just reopened after the refurb, and being close competitors, you'd think that Stanley House would be on top of their game now. But unfortunately for me, I feel like standards have slipped slightly, and felt a bit disappointed with my visit yesterday. My friends however enjoyed their visit, but obviously hadn't been before so didn't have anything to compare it to. I really hope that the management team take note of the recent reviews, and can get the spa and hotel back up to the high standards that their returning customers expect.

Staff with foul attitude spent 450 pounds on a one night stay with food and breakfast included including a meal. Mentioned to staff about my awful experience told I would be refunded. Then was refused. Avoid. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Well what can I say the rooms are not to high standard the reception staff for example the Asians have no manners theirs no hospitality skills the younger staff need to go to posh hotels to learn how to greet and talk to guest the rooms are dirty so much dust not enough toiletries had keep asking For water towels breakfast choices are very limited such as no honey for porridges or lemon slices coffee machine doesn’t work properly no sauces either have to keep asking . I must say the SPA staff are amazing they go up and beyond to your needs lovely sPA and the staff make you feel welcome I wish the younger staff members were trained like this

Stunning hotel nestled in the countryside. I had my wedding here and I could not be happier choosing this place for my family and friends to stay. Maddy at Reception was incredible and she helped us patiently which is why I ended up staying at this hotel. I had 10 rooms booked and I have zero regrets.

For me the location was ideal. Just 15 mins for the business and a great place to unwind. There were a few weddings which made the parking a little congested. But otherwise immaculately kept, grounds and rooms.

Would recommend the experience. Beautiful setting and lovely grounds. Photos and description of room at booking didn't match the room, so that was a bit disappointing, and the room is in need of some maintenance and touch-ups. But the breakfast was nice and the estate is beautiful. So, I would recommend booking directly with the hotel.

I had a great nights stay here, the grounds were perfect and the hotel facilities were awesome too! The checking process was easy and the front of house staff Maddy was great! Really helpful and sorted my booking for the dinner, my only disappointment was that the spa was closed as it was a ladies night only, it was the main reason I booked my room here. I will be back in the area in November so hopefully the spa will be open that time.

We were 5 ladies who were celebrating a 70th birthday in the Spa followed by various treatments and a light lunch. The treatments were lovey, from full massage ,mud treatment to facials all were enjoyed . The lunch was lovely,service was good and the staff were attentive. Hence the 3 stars Now the Spa ....It was very underwhelming and disappointing. There were 11 people including us.3 experience room (one was out of order) 4 loungers ,were not enough.No cotton pads to remove make up ,and no bin ,once the cotton pads were brought for us .There was drinking water in the Spa but we couldn't tell the used glasses from the clean ones. Once we had finished in the Spa there was nowhere appropriate to relax ,we were just sat in the same room ,where we filled in our forms.No low light relaxing area/beds ,just upright chairs to sit in .We had to wait between the Spa and the treatments and we thought we would be relaxing in a more appropriate area.The Spa was very disappointing all round,and we mentioned this as we were leaving .

Recent stay for 1-night in the manor room with spa access. Positives - Beautiful room. Good amenities in the room itself. - Beautiful location. Negatives - Spa - only had one pool, 2 steam rooms and 1 sauna - very limited amenities here. Staff was a bit rude, we stayed 10mins longer than our allocated time and were asked word by word “will you make your way out now”. Never had this experience in any spa before for a 10min overstay. Could have been handled much better. - Food - Ordered a dessert through room service. The cheese cake was £9.5 and tasted terrible. Attached picture. Overall, much better options available in the area such as Crow Wood hotel or Ribby hall. First and last visit here unfortunately.

Overall, the stay was pretty much a catastrophe from start to finish and I am incredibly disappointed that our treat weekend away was ruined by so many things. But also I am really quite angry about much I paid for this Fawlty towers experience. We had specifically booked a Woodlands room but had to stay in the Manor. Food and service was terrible. Spa was ok but one sauna out of order and no ice. I would never ever stay here again. If you expect quality, class and luxury, this place is not for you

Our first much awaited visit to Hilltop Brasserie and wow it certainly didn't disappoint. Fantastic food, service and a very stylish interior. A massive improvement on the the previous Dog Inn and will be our local restaurant of choice from now on... just so pleased to have such a quality food destination on our doorstep. Can't wait to go back with friends and family.

Always fantastic food here. Generous portion sizes, and always ready at the time you are told. Don't have to hang around for it like some places. Always meet with a happy smile too from the staff. No.1 Chinese Takeaway in Longridge.
