Stacey's Pie And Mash Shop in Basildon

Nice clean place, but that is all I can say was good. The worst pie & mash I've ever had, the meal was only luke warm, and the pies were under cooked, there was a group on another table that complained about their meal being cold, and then walked out leaving the food on the table. This was my first time in this restaraunt and will be my last.

Ploughmans on a large pizza 🍕 plate and poor small amount of food in a working lunch that's pays there bills. Undercooked bread baguette.sold as this not a sandwich.cheeses same looked bad in presentation.

Pie base raw not cooked Meat was ok but gravy was very strong beef flavour Mash very lumpy Liquor had a tang to it Lady did offer to change the pies as we were leaving. We refused Left disappointed

Not been here in a while,pies were hard around the edge,also pies had a funny taste. Will not be rushing back any day soon,this place use to be really good...but has gone down hill

First class pie and mash and liquor of course. Just got back from holiday so had to treat ourselves. After all inclusive this was lovely.

Had pie n mash all over London so know a good one from bad This one always same it’s just alright !!! Not the nuts but not pooh just alright Pies always far to much gravy in them for example !!!!!’

Pie n mash hits the spot as always. Double double and liquor and a cup of rosey does it every time. Frigging cold in there this week though. Need some heat !! Keep it up 👍

Went here for the first time ever. Lives in Basildon all my life but just never thought of it as a take way! BUT it was a big hit in our house as no one fancied the normal “Chinese ect” Lush homemade pies! Will be back!

Pie and mash with liquor the way it should be done, sometimes but not always a bit hit and miss with the pies, do not let that put you off, as still the best around Wickford/Basildon/Pitsea are going

Had delivery pies were under cooked pastry was very soggy mash was lumpy & cold liquor was tasteless. Have ordered from here few times always been nice but this time was a huge disappointment

its 140 miles from my place, but as Im multi-drop, its the extra stop to get a takeaway for later and worth every extra mile...

Well what can i say , a cracking pie & mash , ordered 32 lots for my knees up , get down there for a really very good pie & mash ... recommend

Having heard good things and being a pie and mash fan I decided to visit Staceys. A lovely little shop in a small parade. It's more of a cafe than a dedicated pie shop but I gave it a go. Unfortunately it wasn't very nice and not like traditional pie and mash. The mash was too lumpy, the pastry very stodgy and the liquor was far too thick. I also notice no white pepper on the tables which for a pie and mash fan is sin! The service was friendly and efficient but unfortunately the meal was not for me.

The lady serving was out back smoking and saw me waiting at the counter. She came to the counter stinking of fags and took my order. 1 pie and 2 mash. Without washing her hands she removed a pie from the foil tray and placed it on the plate then dolloped the mash and liqueur. The pie was hard as old boots and pretty burned. And I cringed at the thought of eating it after she had been smoking and touching other non food related items so I just ate some mash and left.

Always pop in here for a warm ham baguette to take away. Once when I was ill they said they would go out of their way to deliver it to me! Brilliant service

We visited here on our way home as we live close by as a treat from our friend we had the pie, mash and liquor. I had 2 pies the ladies had one pie the food was well cooked and tasty as you would expect from a pie n mash shop, the staff were friendly and surroundings clean n tidy very popular place, so much so when I wanted to get some pie n mash to take home I couldn't as it was full of film extra and a camera crew filming something from a gangster film but normal service has been resumed

The staff are always friendly, and serve you with a smile. The food is fantastic, my son for 26 birthdays has always asked for Stacie pie and mash for his birthday lunch. Massive thanks. Love this place.

Was thinking of a east end treat and came in to have a good old pie with liquor and it's not too bad but there is room for improvement so I will give a good review cause I eaten it..will be back 😆😆😆

My partner loves pie & mash so i gave Staceys a go....i didnt like it much as i found it a little tasteless but my partner thought it was ok....ive definitely had better....very average im afraid x

Menú estándar y platos bastante donde también se puede comer. También buen aparcamiento. Comida puré adecuado podría ser mejor. No tengo prisa en volver.

Aquí whilstvworking llamado en la zona tenía el número 2 desayuno y té. Buena relación calidad-precio. Tamaño de la porción decente. Aunque tenía un tenedor sucio y la planta habían limpiado. Id piénselo dos veces antes de volver debido a las preocupaciones sobre la higiene......

Los jueves tenemos una comida para llevar, pero a menudo nos gusta comer aquí.

Seriously the best breakfast in Basildon. So many options, well cooked and well priced. I'd have expected it to be dearer. Food is fresh and tasty. Staff are friendly and attentive, and go the extra mile to ensure you are happy with your meal.

Great service, fantastic pies and the creamiest mash. If you luv a taste of the East end but in modern surroundings , then give Stacey's a try but book a table or you could be disappointed

Although turning up late in the day (just before closing), the staff were more than happy to make up a couple of pies as they only had half for what we ordered. Food is so tasty here, the only one we think that beats it is West Ham, and I think that has more to do with happy memories than actual food content.

We pop in when going to Basildon, service is Good, Pie Mash and Liquor always good, (not runny pies like most so called Pie and Mash shops) The only down side Hence 4 out of 5 stars and not a major deal breaker. The seats are fixed and it makes it difficult getting in and out if you are on the large side or like my wife has a disability

It was so yummy and i will for sure be going back again for Pie and Mash. Everyone was right. Burgers and Chips are very good as well. I would like to go back for a cheeky breakfast at some point. Only thing is they are closed on Sundays, Bummer...The service was very friendly and was very fast. Loved my whole experience..

My husband, loves the food from here, we have to take my mum or get some for her every time she visits as it reminds her of our East End roots.Staff always friendly and helpful.Excellent, tasty good value meal.

Go here regularly for authentic Pie mash and liquor, also does lovely traditional puds too. Mum and Dad swear by Stacey's Pie mash shop and so do I, even my daughter will eat it and enjoy it.

Nice food, reasonably priced, good choice of menu and not just pie and mash, staff very friendly and welcoming, would return.

Popped in with friends for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Good service and being a Londoner it was as it should be. Will definitely be back for more.

Staceys is one of the longest running pi mash shops in basildon, and it shows, great food and great prices shows how well they are doing.

The first time I have ever had pie and mash was hear. And my what a treat. It was the best tasting pie and mash I ever had now I can't get enough. Would recommend this shop to anyone

The staff are efficient. The pie and mash is very good as is the other items on menu. Their sandwiches are also good and freshly made.

Are meal was brilliant even though we just poped in for a little lunch, the staff were very friendly, all the family enjoyed the meal

Visited here for pie and mash, not a bad place at all good pie and mash. Service a little lacking and a bit expensive but not going to complain as it was nice food. Restaurant could do with a better seating area but I'm visiting this type of place for the food not the decor but I based this on my Thoughts of the place. If your after pie and mash in Basildon then this is a place to try for sure.

Good old traditions pie and mash. What else can ya say. At least the pies are real :) more than some places. Not many left of these and this is one of em ! Keep it going guys.

I went here for the first time on the recommendation of my partner's Nan. We were bringing her lunch and she asked us to go here - I was sceptical as I didn't think there would be much of a range, as I don't eat beef, but the range was fantastic and it was so reasonably priced, I actually had to check they'd charged me for all three lots that I had ordered!

Decent pie and mash, but quite small portions. Not the most glamorous surroundings, but worth a visit for a tasty lunch

We went in search of Pie, Mash & Liquor on an Essex day out visiting family and points of interest and stumbled upon this cafe style shop. Ok, it's not the prettiest of places and there were parts of the ceiling coming down etc but I can't say that I was too bothered about that after receiving my hearty meal. It was lovely and just what I was after. Really enjoyable and came away full up. Highly recommended for any pie and mash lover.

Brought memories back, the pies were just as I remembered, would definitely go back for a quick, cheap, lunch.

I've been to Staceys a few times over the years and I'm a tough pie and mash critic. I'm a proper eastender so comparing essex pie and mash is hard , but I like this one. They do home delivery which is great , service is good and usually fast. I'd recommend.

Popped in there a couple of weeks ago for the first time and had an excellent breakfast. Will go again soon.
