Stable gate is a firm favourite for our family and extended family. The staff always go above and beyond. My daughter has a peanut allergy and always meet her needs and enjoy a safe dining experience. Staff are attentive, friendly and have a great passion for customer service. Food is always great value for money, Sunday carvery is a family favourite and a special mention to Stuart, Ian, Leah, Dave and Alex it’s always a pleasure to have great service from the team Thank you.

Dave the bartender was brill really added to our experience. Very chatty and funny, put a smile on our face. The other bartender Shaylee was lovely aswell nice and helpful.

Unfortunately we got 3 cold main meals (2 fish & chips & 1 sausage & mash) so had to send them back. When re served to us the batter on the fish was not crispy & was soggy. The waitress kindly offered us 3 puddings free of charge.

Went here with a party of 12 people, all different aged including babies. All were catered for. All you can eat continental breakfast with a fry up afterwards.... Tasty

Brought my nieces and nephew for food and a play. It was Sunday so very busy the staff were excellent especially Jenny! She made a point of finding me a table near the wacky warehouse so I could still see the kids playing safely. She assisted the kids with picking their meal and was very patient with my niece who has some special requirements regarding with her food and the way her wristband sits on her skin. She was patient and lovely. Our food came very quickly was hot and presented well. The table was cleared very quickly also after we had eaten so didn’t have to sit with much mess. Food was lovely and good value for money. Will definitely be visiting again.

Not my closest carvery but gave it a go after being emailed a 40% off mains voucher. Firstly, we were seated on a table that was very close to another. 1/2 people on this table kept staring at my 9 year old son. It was making him uncomfortable. They were also super loud. At one stage, a man came over and hugged one of the people on this table. That put his butt really close to my son and it was on the table!! (I think the people on the other table had some kind of special need, so probably couldn't help it, and I don't blame them. But that fact didn't make my son any more comfortable. The person who put his backside on the table did not have special needs and that was sheer ignorance!). I'd had enough after this. The person who seated us, I went and asked him if they had any other tables available that we could move to. He said no. I ordered our food. It was a long queue but moved fast... until I got to second in line and it became a really long wait from this point. I think there was an extra server who disappeared. Got back to the table and my son visibly looks very uncomfortable without even saying anything. I got up and asked for a table move again, asking a different member of staff, and got it this time (so why couldn't we have had the move the first time I asked, since it turned out there were other tables available). On the carvery, the beef was good. I liked the fact that they had a well done joint and a rare joint, and I was able to choose. The veg was standard. Not a great selection though. The one member of staff who got us the table move was nice, and helpful. Probably will not return here and will go back to my regular place in future. Even with the 40% off.

I had my Daughter 8th Birthday here last Sunday the staff where amazing really made Daughter feel special and made effort with all the children and party games even sorted out extra places on the day without fuss the food come out fresh and hot they made party bag’s the food all included in the price. Went in for a birthday meal the staff were mixed some rude and some not, the food was awful borderline disgusting, £66 spent and possibly 3 mouthfuls or dirt, I won't be returning and will ve encouraging people not to either, this place used to be pleasant with decent food and well priced it's a shadow of its former self

We went here for some lunch with the family for my 40th birthday yesterday 19th August as it was convenient and the kids could play the food was decent and reasonably priced we all finished it the manger made it extra special before we left he brought me a bottle of Prosecco 🥂 to take with me and enjoy for my birthday I thought that was so lovely and for that reason I will defo be returning he definitely went above and beyond ❤️

Absolutely love this place the food is delicious and the staff are amazing especially the managers. I wont go anywhere else for a carvery either and it's great to be able to eat and relax while the kids play.

Jenny who was serving in the play area was very helpful, friendly and polite. The food was warm and quick. Due to our late booking we could only sit in the play area which was very noisy (as expected) and chaotic but this was our fault due to our late booking.

As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a lovely man who showed us to our table, he asked if anyone has any allergies. Our daughter has a nut allergy! As soon as we told him he went off to get the allergen information for all of the menu. When ordering the food at the bar, the nice lady went over the allergen information again! This made us feel really comfortable about eating here! Food was nice and hot! No complaints from anyone ☺️

Recently visited for friends birthday , excellent service throughout, Food was on point ,soft play area keeps the kids busy. Our server Jen was brilliant keeping up with a large group nothing was too much trouble.

Visited today for my Father in laws birthday, we were greeted by Dave, who was amazingly friendly throughout the duration of our visit!! Food was superb, we would definitely visit again!! Special mention to Dave as he was very accommodating throughout...5 stars!!!

Would like to rate dave the server, a 10 star rating couldn't do enough for us as it was my husbands birthday he did a cake and candle, it was so nice as was he. Also the food was 5 star as was the service, nice to have a giggle with the staff x

We booked and went there for breakfast last weekend - it was very busy and children running around and into people who were carrying plates of hot food and rolling around on the floor where people were nearly tripping over them. Had to queue for ages at only toaster and the only coffee machine and the food was cold. I'd rather spend over £20 for two breakfasts somewhere else in future.

I’d give it no stars if I could. Party of 6, one was a birthday voucher but we also had a points voucher with brewers fayre. Manager served us and was a completely rude man taking our order. Mentioned we had vouchers got till the end and said because you are on the same table we can only use either the birthday voucher or the points. Terms and conditions say otherwise! Asked to take the birthday meal off and we’l use it another time, refused that. Absolutely ridiculous.

Really nice last minute roast with the family of 5. 75 quid sorted us all out Inc desserts Play area for the kids also for 1hr. Friendly staff and very helpful. Staff also behind bar very on hand. Thanks again and will definitely recommend 10/10.

A very affordable lunch out, if the sandwich was a bit warmer it could have been 5* stars. We’d probably go again one day. Rump steak and gammon was spot on! *Went back recently for a Carvery with a 33% off voucher. Pretty good carvery, there’s better ones in the area BUT the Cauliflower Cheese and Dauphinois was tremendous. The Diet Coke was on form too 😆

Spent two nights at Premier Inn next door and had 2xbreakfast and 2x dinner here. Stunning food. Adored spicey wings and food was flawless. Atmosphere was relaxed even at peak time. Management and team are a credit to the brand. Well done

Me and my two children visited for a quick breakfast earlier today and had such a lovely experience. Lots to choose from near the counter such as pancakes, pain au chocolats, nutella on request as my daughter loves this in her pancakes. Very helpful staff too. One lady called Leah actually helped my daughter with her fruit juice to the table which was very kind of her. It can be very hard eating out with children so I certainly will be coming back. 10/10 breakfast, hot, quick service, refillable coffee added bonus and again very pleasant staff.

Cheap food and lots of offers great area for kids perfect for familys looking for a chill meal out. Tv with camera to watch kids in play area whilst eating too. The team were very helpful & accommodating thank you to everyone & dave

Came to the stablegate on Sunday 26th May for the carvery very disappointed veg was hard roast potatoes was very dry the gravy was watery were regular customers but won't be coming again for £11.95 you expect it to be edible I left most of it very disappointed !!

Have been going every 2 weeks for 2 years the quality and freshness of the food is getting poorer and poorer the only reason we still go is the play area for granddaughter 3 weeks ago we went to a lovely pub called the Woodhouse even though the food was served in a bucket it was fresh and tasty now if it's not raining will go regularly as their outside play area is fantastic with lovely food

Well what a great experience in here today called for lunch with my friend and Dave in there what a nice friendly man very chatty helpful and great sense of humour lovely lovely chat we had with him he certainly makes you feel special and we will certainly be back on regular basis the food we had was delicious

Went in for lunch with my toddler to make use of the indoor play area which costs an additional £4.50. Staff were really friendly and accommodating. Food arrived really quickly and all tasted lovely. Would recommend

Went in 14 April for the Sunday roast. The service and atmosphere is always very good and so is the food. The only trouble is the carvery food is cold and doesn't seem to be kept hot enough. The gravy is not hot enough either. I left a third of my meal because it was stone cold. Afterwards at home I started to feel sick as it had landed on my stomach cold. Not sure if we will return. I have never seen them temperature check the food like they do in the Queens, but maybe they do.

Thank you staff at Stable gate. We had booked a table but arrived half an hour early. The manager managed to seat us in a quiet area for such a busy time. We had a lot of different orders and Jennifer was so helpful making sure we had everything correct. Food was great and staff checked regularly to see if we were ok. Sticky toffee pudding was fab better than many places. Staff worked tirelessly to keep place clean and attend customers. Jennifer thank you for taking care of us and thanks to your hard working team of staff 👍👍👍👍👍
