Good portions but very sweet sauces and average meat quality. I have had better rice elsewhere. Very friendly staff and reasonably priced.

The food is nice. The people working there are really nice. The only reason why I give average score is because of their phone order system they don’t even have online way to order in 21st century. I am calling to order food 50 times .. I am told certain time to go and collect /25 mins for example /. 25 mins later I am there ti pay and collect but … once I show up and pay then the person from Behind the till is sending the order and they are starting to cook. I can’t understand why do I need to wait extra when I am going there to pick up my ready dinner ? 50 out of 50 times is the same story. Last time I ordered 1845 on Friday evening. I have been told 25-30mins on the phone. I am going there hungry my family is waiting for dinner too. The shop inside was full and the phone is not stopping to ring. I call and order 1845 I was in the shop to collect 1920PM my food was ready and collected by 1945 ? Wtf is this ? Each time I am eating extra 10mins minimum my food to be prepared after I have been told to go and collect by certain time. I died starving my little one at home was eating something else and my wife was furious with me asking me where have I been so long ? I love the food but the system is from the last century’s. I am ordering and I am asking how long to collect my food not after how long time I need to show up in the shop to see me and my money and then to cook my food. Sort it please your customers are taking the loss and you with them.

The best Chinese in town, and very friendly staff. I do not eat pork or seafood but my husband ordered the wrong noodles but they kindly changed it for us.

Been a semi-regular of this Chinese since it replaced the previous business. Taste and quality of ingredients wise it really is a cut above most other takeaways. On par with a solid restaurant you might find Chinatown in London. Overall I want to give them 4.5 stars but TripAdvisor won't allow it. My issue being, they're so popular, it's very difficult to place an order! You either have to arrive in person, or call and hope the phone gets picked up or it's not engaged. Also they're a cash only business; make sure you're prepared. If St Mary's could bring on an internet ordering service they'd get 6 stars instead of 5. Please look into it! You don't have to go the Just Eat route, just something modern!

Ordered a variety of dishes for a buffet at work, excellent service and easy to organise, ready on time and fantastic fresh tasty food, definitely recommend.

The food here is absolutly first class, its a real treat to have a take away, the owner Paul is a real gentleman and its very reasonably priced, cant wait till our next visit!

When I was first diagnosed with coeliac, I really struggled to find a Chinese who could do gluten free and the ones that did..literally had hardly any flavour. However I’ve been going to ST Mary’s Chinese for a couple of months now and I couldn’t fault any of it one bit - the service and the food is incredible. The owner Paul has a great knowledge of coeliac which takes away the anxiety of eating out for me. He is also so lovely and clearly really cares about his customers. The food is absolutely incredible too, so much flavour and incredibly tasty!

This restaurant provided the food for a friends birthday bash. I was blown away by the choices and the quality of the food. Most definitely this will be my Chinese of choice from now on. You will not be disappointed

Paul and the gang have been serving outstanding Chinese takeaway food in MK for more years than I care to remember. The food and counter service are excellent and truly set the standard by which we judge Chinese fare anywhere. Everything we've tried from the menu has been great - with the salt & pepper range being a firm favourite. Thanks to everyone involved for feeding us so well for so long - and particularly for being open during the Covid crisis. Well done and best wishes to all.

Moving to milton Keynes from ireland I had trouble finding a chinese that was to a standard I had set such as home. St.marys food is great and the owner has great customer skills. Highly recommended👍🏻 Shane

yes believe it or not paul actually wraps and packs deep fry chilly beef and special fried rice for me in mallorca. ive been a regular since the age of 17 and seeing paul with his own business is incredible 5 star food 5 star customer service

I’ve just picked up my takeaway. Portion sizes are amazing, not too dry, not too greasy. Amazing customer service. Always looks clean when I go in. The owner is so friendly and always makes you feel welcome. They do amazing vegan substitutes (I had the spicy beef) that taste just like meat. I would 100% recommend. So tasty & delicious ❤️❤️

Moved few months ago in Oxley Park and first week we decided to try the food in this takeaway shop - honestly best Chinese food we ever had . Portions are huge , prices are more than reasonable. Since my first visit , we ordering at least once a week and food is always same tasty , delicious and fresh . Paul is one of the kindest owners i ever met so 100% will keep ordering from there .

Over the years we kind of fell out of love with Chinese food, due to the greasiness, colourings, additives etc... however, since Paul and his family arrived in Oxley Park it's been a different story!, No doubt, the best Chinese in MK! Food is always fresh, piping hot, and very very tasty - the chicken curry is amazing with big pieces of chicken breasts - so happy he is here to stay! Thanks Paul! Ciao

Food was not very nice. Ribs were dry. The place is cash only no card payment which is weird. Would not recommend to anyone. Not going there again.

Visited on 2/4/19 with my family who had travelled down from Up North. Before they moved away St Marys was their favourite Chinese so they were looking forward to a takeaway. We checked the opening times on their Website and decided to go around 7pm. Imagine our disappointment when we had driven all the way there only to find the establishment CLOSED.... the opening times on the door read Open 5.00pm but there was no body around and no other signage to explain why it wasn't open.

We have had a take away from here several times and the food has been really good. The salt and pepper prawns are superb, as is the prawn curry and mushroom foo young. I prefer spicy food and they always adjust the spice levels to suit my taste. Well worth trying!

Was really glad when I heard that Paul is re-opening his business in Oxley Park and as sort of regular customer I had to try it. As expected (and hoped) everything was as it used to be - top quality. From service (Paul knows how to handle customers and especially during busy hours he stays over the top and manage to process your order in couple of minutes) to quality of ingredients, portion size and lastly but most importantly the actual taste of food. And I must say some of them taste maybe even better than they used to at old place (looking at you salt & pepper king prawn ;)). I tried quite a few Chinese takeaways in my life but never really felt in love with one as much as with this one.

We’ve tried a few different dishes and now have a ‘favourite selection’. Always great tasty food, cooked whilst you wait and fantastic customer service with a smile. Our ‘Go to’ Chinese Takeaway in Milton Keynes - we highly recommend it!

St Mary's Oxley Park is now our goto Chinese takeaway. Staff are friendly and it's great to be able to watch the chef's cook the food whilst your waiting. The quality of the food and taste is first class. Highly recommended.

I used to have take aways from Shanghai House in Bletchley when I lived close by and got to know the family well. I moved to the other side of MK for 15 years and recently moved to Oxley Park. The Chinese was hit and miss sometimes good food other times not so. I was delighted to find Paul (ex if Shanghai House) had taken it over recently and have regularly used it since. The food is always good quality fresh and hot. Tastes amazing and always a friendly face to greet me. Keep up the good work Paul!

Was disappointed when Shanghai changed hands as the food wasn’t as remembered. Went to Paul’s and it is then best in my by far food is always good and hott you can get home and the food still be really hot unlike others that are stone cold. Service as always is spot on never a bad experience

Following the change of ownership of Shanghai House Chinese Takeaway in St Marys Avenue in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, residents mourned the loss of the best Chinese food in the area. People came from far and wide, it was that good. Unfortunately, the new owners couldn't quite match the previous high standards. Thankfully, Paul, a family member of the previous owners has opened his own takeaway at Oxley Park, about two miles from the original takeaway. Securing the services of the original chef, he has brought quality Chinese food back into our lives. Thank you Paul, its as good as ever..... and calling your new restaurant St Marys was a stroke of genius. See you again soon

Ordered a take away. Chicken and chili with egg fried rice. Real let down. You can go wrong with egg fried rice. However the chicken clewrly had sugar added and was sweet which is not what one would expect.

I’m was a frequent customer of Paul’s last place in Bletchley and with returning to Milton Keynes for the holidays, I made sure St Mary’s was top of my list to visit.

Went in at about 5,30pm and it was really busy. Despite this the service was excellent! The staff were friendly, the food was prepared quickly (despite how busy it was) and the food was lovely. Not greasy like we have had from other places in MK.

Went back to Oxley park for a Chinese. The quality of food has nothing on the previous business here. Poor quality soggy food. I can only see other higher reviews, maybe I was unlucky but it really was poor quality. Won’t be returning.

I’ve been told that people travel across the city to this Chinese takeaway and I now understand why. Hands down the best Chinese takeaway in MK. All the dishes we purchased tasted amazing and it was clear the ingredients were fresh - all at great prices. Cannot recommend it enough!!

So for years we have gone to the shanghai house at st marys then Paul was gone and to be honest it was never the same, but now he has opened his own place at Oxley Park and its called St Marys Chinese takeaway! Food was always the very best but if its possible the food is even better now! Just had a fabulous takeaway from them So pleased he is open and pleased we now have a great takeaway again!!!
