St James's Cafe Deli in Bath and North East Somerset

Limpio, servicio amable, buena selección de delicatessen / comida saludable, excelente café: hay mucho que me gusta de este lugar. Los rollos de salchicha son sobresalientes (hechos con mermelada de cebolla). Frittata también estaba delicioso. Buen descubrimiento.

Muy extraño café - la comida que sirven es deliciosa. El sitio web que apoya el concepto presenta ideas inspiradoras, eclécticas y tentadoras sobre la alimentación saludable y los gustos. Pero cuando se trata de presentar esas ideas en el mundo real del Café, se desvanece. Nada transmite al transeúnte la calidad de la comida o la relación calidad-precio. El ambiente es insípido, la mayoría de los clientes tienen más de 50 años, son residentes locales y rara vez parecen ser turistas. Lo encuentro bastante triste. Tanto esfuerzo, pero sin atractivo ni marketing. Ubicado justo detrás del Royal Crescent y junto a la impresionante calle James's Square, debe aparecer en el mapa de los amantes de la comida. Un punto de destino para los curiosos que exploran más allá de los lugares turísticos habituales de Bath que buscan una excelente comida a un precio razonable.

Regularmente voy a este café, es una pequeña joya. La comida es moderna y muy bien hecha y presentada. Todo es chispeante y el chef realmente sabe sus combinaciones de comida. El menú cambia constantemente y me gustaría comer aquí todos los días si pudiera. El café es "correcto" también. El personal es acogedor y hospitalario. Una encantadora mezcla de clientes habituales y novatos. Se encuentra a 2 minutos a pie del Royal Crescent y vale la pena cada paso.

Fui un sábado y no estaba muy ocupado, así que ordené que entrara un Flat White. El empleado no particularmente amable fue directo a preparar el café y luego me dio una taza para llevar, así que decidí que pagaría y me marcharía. Pronto me arrepentí de entrar, ya que no era nada como un blanco plano, sino más bien un café con leche débil (con una tapa rota). Como mencionan otras reseñas, la comida en el mostrador se veía muy bien, pero no me sentí tentado ya que era un día caluroso y la comida no estaba cubierta ni enfriada. ¡Hay tantos lugares de café independientes grandes en Bath, desafortunadamente este no es uno de ellos!

Un súper café en una zona tranquila, cerca del Royal Crescent en Bath. Selección de almuerzos deliciosos, ambiente agradable, personal amable, servicio rápido, comida fresca. ¿Qué más se puede pedir? Pruébalo y verás. ¡Usted no será decepcionado!

We chanced upon this cafe/deli as we were heading back into town for lunch having wandered around the lesser known crescents in Bath. On a Saturday EVERYWHERE in central Bath is packed so to find somewhere with a table was a bonus and THEN THERE WAS THE FOOD. The menu is short and sweet, everything's homemade and completely delicious. I chose the sausage roll (simply the best EVER) with an apple coleslaw and my friends had the salmon with salads. The drinks are up market bottles - I had a lovely Luscombe Strawberry crush. The array of cakes were tempting but we'll go back another day to try them. The owners were efficient and welcoming and when we engaged in conversation very chatty and friendly ! Can't wait to return. Couldn't recommend more !! (Bonus is you can buy Hobbs House bread here)

A consistently excellent little eatery and coffee stop, Alex and Kim are doing a great job. The food is always fresh and interesting and so tempting, you often come away with more than to anticipated. Plenty of regulars here and a good place for visitors to "find" as word of mouth does the job. These proprietors are really hard workers!

This local deli cafe serves the most wonderful homemade food. the sausage rolls are to die for! all served with daily fresh salads of your choice and you get a really decent sized plate fo food. Great place for a casual lunch. really nice friendly owners and staff too

Food is made fresh every day and there is a great selection of vegetarian , gluten free and normal food all made by the owner’s wife. She also does take away food for anyone holding a party. This is a super place to meet for coffee and cakes plus delightful lunches.

Popped in here for a light salad lunch with my teen daughter. I had a really good aubergine salad which consisted of half a (roasted?) aubergine, with red and yellow tomatoes and feta. My daughter had some delicious cous cous salad, and a tomato, pepper and green leaves salad. She also had a custard tart, which she said was very good. Cappuccino was quite good but not amazing but I am giving 5 stars because the salad was outstanding. We also bought an arty mug as a gift.

So close to the city, yet it feels like you’re in a quiet part of Bath! St. James square is a great place and this cafe deli is one of the best . Wonderful offering of cakes and savory snacks right in-front of your eyes. The couple who own it and their staff are the loveliest of people too.

Really friendly staff who were quick and provided a great service. The food was fantastic, both fresh and tasty as well as a great coffee too. Would highly recommend whether you're just looking for a drink or a sport of lunch/snack! Relaxed atmosphere with a light open cafe.

Food excellent service could not be any better very nice fresh food daily and cakes sweet a must go nice friendly and off the beaten track so look it up to find it

Called here for lunch on Monday. Busy but managed to get a table for 4. You chose from the food at the counter and are charged per portion on your plate. We all chose a different main and one salad each. This was plenty for us. Food obviously freshly prepared on the day and lovely flavours. Various drinks available. Nice atmosphere.

We were staying for 3 nights in Bath and luckily found this gem of a place on our first day. We then had brunch there every morning as it was so good it was pointless looking for anywhere better. The staff were friendly, the coffee good (and hot) and the pastries delicious. The highlight was definitely the sausage roll - we kept going back for 'just one more'! Very reasonably priced too which you cannot say about a lot of places in Bath.

It's my local so I may be biased but the new owners have really done a great job. The lunches are delicious. I often nip down and get something in a takeaway box when I am working from home. It's always fresh and tasty. Definitely worth a trip. We are going down for Breakfast this morning.

In the premises of the old Mangia Bene the new owners have settled in with a delicious menu and re-established the outside seating (Arrival of which was at the start of a cold snap!!

Just posting other reviews so catching up with this cafe/deli. Have eaten lunch and had tea here on several occasion. Always a pleasure. Friendly and most importantly good food, tea, coffee and other drinks. We even came in late once and most food was sold out but they rustled something up for us. Thank you

This is the old Mangia Bene but with new owners and so much the better for it. It is now a welcoming and friendly local deli, food is lovely, coffee great. I will definitely be coming here a lot more. For anyone not local to it its worth seeking it out, you'll be glad you did.

The old Mangia Bene under its new owners is rapidly building a reputation with the local community. Specialities are filling breakfasts and healthy lunches.
