Was there in March 2024 service food fantastic mothers birthday 15 June tonight worst service worst meal ever arrived 7.30 starter 8.20 main course 9.10 was told 1 chef thats not customers fault ruined my mums birthday ownership think by giving few pound off exceptable owners son think it was came out going to hit me even though I paid full price an £30 tip for staff never will be back I should have listened to reviews I just hope believe my review or not I do not recommend square one go to davys chippy or oreileys

Second time frequenting this establishment in the last few years. Fantastic atmosphere and service hats off to Dave and the team. Great pint, superb food and the locals made me feel very welcome again. If I could afford the flights I would take a trip over once a month from Scotland, my local pub having closed down recently I appreciate a warm welcome and a bit of casual banter with friends.

A great name for this place, as it is number one in my book. Just got looked after so we’ll booth my wife and myself for our 44th. Wedding anniversary. Dave and the family and staff were so welcoming and attentive you could ask for no more. Food second to none and you are made so welcome by everyone you meet in Square One. Owners, staff and local regulars welcome you with open arms in this home from home. Never had so many drinks and advice of where to visit in the area. We had breakfast, lunch dinner and snacks. All food top quality and nothing is a problem for the staff to prepare. A big hug for Shelby for presenting us with a card and flowers for our big day. If you are ever up their neck of the woods, visit you will be well fed, well watered and treated like royalty. Can wait to return. Shane & Móna o’Leary.

I have had several meals in Square One since last year and they all have been cooked to perfection with great taste… This is a country bar/restaurant where locals eat and drink…and always have a friendly word for visitors! Music most weekends and as always when there is music and it’s not too loud it creates a great atmosphere.. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

Flying visit whilst staying nearby as part of a motorcycle tour of Ireland from wales. Very friendly welcome to us 3 lady bikers

Evening family time we decided to go for dinner with my 4 year old neice . As soon as we walked in the place just looked dirty . Cigarette butts at doorway. Busted door and green on the keen. Waking in the place was cold . And a bit dark. Took a long time to get food out and came in drips and drabs. Food was warmish but by this time I was too hungry to ask to get it warmer. I did leave a lot. Also asked for coffee and was told it was only Instant that they done. Toilets smelt nice but still very dirty . This place need a separate dining room. It’s more like a wee old man’s dingy bar . Won’t be back . Only good thing was the staff who gave my niece a colour in book

Came in for dinner, place was fairly quiet. Staff were friendly and service was fast. Food was tasty and portion size was decent. Asked the waitress if we could order dessert and she apologised and said the chef had left already (it was around 9pm) but that she would see if someone else was about to serve desserts. Someone who I assume was the manager (very friendly and pleasant) came to tell us the options and we had nice desserts. Would come again but maybe earlier in the evening.

Went to a Jubilee event in Dromara this morning and went Square One for something to eat. We all ordered a Bikers Fry and it was fantastic! Great service and a wonderful find!!

Came across this little gem unplanned. We had breakfast (3 x biker breakfasts) tea was served in quaint china cups/saucers/teapot. Great friendly service. Quick service and offered top up teas. Super friendly hosts. Excellent value for money. Keep up the great service! We will be back 👍🏼

Visited here and would highly recommend. Great food and the prices were very reasonable, which is rare to find these days. Staff were lovely and very attentive too. Happy customer and will definitely be returning!

We were welcomed by friendly hosts. We arrived very early for our booking and were served immediately. The food was expertly prepared and delicious! We will be back :-)

Excellent place with great Guinness and very good quality food . Large generous portions and the staff very friendly and welcoming. David the owner very friendly and made us very welcome, give this place a try and you will not be disappointed. Great family run bar restaurant.

A group of us went here for a pre Christmas meal. First class friendly service. The steak was first class as was the other dishes. Will be back again in the new year.

Had lunch here a few days ago. Place near empty a bit untidy when we came in but friendly staff got us a table near a roaring fire and we had a great reasonable priced lunch . Food good and good value too - what’s not to love ?. Intend to be back soon .

Very nice homemade curry and dessert, very homely feel to food and service.Price seemed extremely reasonable, used to London prices.

We arrived in time for the early bird menu which was very good value and quite adequate. Drinks were quickly served after we were seated beside a cosy fire. We both had the brie starter which arrived unexpectedly promptly, served by a most pleasant and helpful waitress. The chicken gougouns and excellent gammon steak with pineapple and fried egg was served equally promptly and was very tasty. Home made strawberry pavlova finished off a very reasonably priced evening. We would hope to return soon.

Had late bar meal last night and it was absolutely delicious best burger meal I have had and was looking after very well didn’t want for anything.

This restaurant offers excellent value for money especially the early bird menu.The food is very tasty and with a varied menu.The service and staff go out of their way to make sure every thing is ok.Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Been here several time and have never been disappointed A large group of around 70 of us went and not one complaint about the food or service...the steaks are the best you will get anywhere in N Ireland...

Been here a few times with my friend who lives here. Friendly and lively with local music on Saturday night.

Had a great meal here a couple of weeks back with a crowd of friends.... the ribeye steak i had was one of the best I have ever tasted... well hung, perfectly cooked and very reasonably priced.

Had a fantastic family meal at this restaurant in Dromara on Sunday evening. 12 of us all had 2 courses, comprising of steaks, smokey chicken, chicken strips and delicious deserts. Nothing we asked for was a problem, food hot and really good portions. Will definitely be back before Christmas

I can not fault this restaurant the food fresh and plenty of it .. I totally recommend this restaurant to anyone and you will be guaranteed a great meal

Excellent food and service. Much nicer inside than it looks outside . Had the chicken roullade. Partner had steak. Both had vegetable soup as a starter. The Wheaton bread that went with it was great. No room for a dessert.

Pensaba que iba a hijas para la cena. Ella dijo que simplemente ir och (mesa había sido reservado por ella). Los pedidos rápidamente adoptadas por la camarera agradable. Entrantes sopa de gambas y champiñones, cócteles ajo, seguido de salmón, jamón, pavo y principales - - - - niños sirvieron con "porciones más pequeñas" desde el menú principal en contraposición a menú para niños. Deliciosa comida con un servicio excelente y las porciones son muy generosas. A pesar de que comimos de corazón que no podía resistirse a la compota de ruibarbo con flan/helados. Me encanta este lugar, pero que podrían beneficiarse de la iluminación natural. Todo el mundo cantaba las alabanzas de la chef y personal de niños más atentos amables.

Would highly recommend this place, Joan the chef supplied excellent steaks, salmon, burgers and chicken Maryland. Joan's homemade wheaten bread is to die for. Waitress very polite and attentive

Really gone downhill. Ordered the sharing platter. Stodgy, deep fried, greasy. Burger? Apparently there were no baps so we were served meat on its own. No price reduction. Not happy. Not returning any time soon and we were regular customers.

Cada uno de nosotros pedimos un plato diferente. Un montón de comida caliente muy decoradas con muy buen gusto. Sin duda volvería.

Después de que recomiendo ir aquí. Llamamos en una noche de domingo para la comida. El lugar estaba limpio y ordenado. Elegí pollo y sopa de puerro estaba lleno de ambos. El pollo estaba fresca y sabrosa. La siguiente vino de hueso T bien preparado...

Ate here on a Saturday evening & was pleasantly surprised. We had a range of starters - all very tasty from the chowder to the garlic prawns - and mains. Huge steak, lamb - cooked to taste & well presented. Gammon was delicious & plenty of it. Scampi came battered not breaded which we hadn't noticed on the menu & would have preferred the other way but probably our mistake. Only one vegetarian option available as a main, vegetable curry, but this was also found to be very good. Good wine list and well priced, although we did have to ask a few times for bar service. All very pleasant. Can't comment on the desserts as we were too full to contemplate!

We had a family pre Christmas get together and I must say the atmosphere was great and the food was brilliant along with the service. I was puzzled however why if one person in the party had the christmas menu everybody had to have it, how strange.We did query it but were just told " thats the chefs decision "

Super steaks and home cooked food. Great service. Always loads of food. Restaurant is decor needs to be updated as it is soulless. Chairs are really uncomfortable as well.

I was driving via Dromara on Saturday, my wife and I decided to call into Square One for dinner. Fellow Doctors in my surgery had great reports of this place. My wife and I was not disappointed. One of the best steaks we have ever had and would recommended this place to anyone. Service excellent. This place is a hidden 5 star place! A must visit

I have visited this place several times but never reviewed it until now. I have never had a bad meal here during any of my visits. Good variety of food in friendly environment.

If your idea of a great night out is bland food, shards of plastic in your soup and a funereal atmosphere then this is the place for you! It's not, however, my idea of a night out unless I was a member of the masochists' society. Truly awful, poor service and soulless. An experience not to be forgotten nor indeed repeated.

Food is always of a very high standard. Have never had a bad meal in it since it opened. Everything is made fresh and portions are good. Well worth a visit on Thurs-Sunday.

We called in en route to Slieve Croob on a damp Sunday in May. Like most traditional bars there isn't much natural light so they do tend to appear dark. However, in the restaurant located at the back, the space has been tastefully decorated. Nice touches like fresh flowers do make the difference. Like all good restaurants should, they run a Sunday roast. Generously heaped beef and the usual accompaniments arrived. I ordered the scampi, which came freshly battered with a choice of potato, some peas, a jot of salad and tartar sauce. After clocking what had arrived after a nearby table had ordered dessert, I couldn't leave without doing the same. The chocolate brownie was slightly dry for a brownie which should be moist, but the flavours were amazing. Definitely home-made. Presentation and portions are very good. Staff in pub and restaurant all very helpful and pleasant. Calling in for food next time I'm in that neck of woods, without a doubt.

We arrived on a wet evening after a long days sightseeing and stumbled upon this gem. Warm welcome and friendly staff. Food was to order and when it arrived it certainly hit the spot. There are many facilities for functions etc. The decor is modern warm and ambient. Well worth a visit
