Halal food for Muslims and clean, quick service, courteous and friendly staff, I liked it very much and had a nice and relaxing time with my family. I hope they open a part of this shawarma in Manchester

I tried this place 3 different times, it was average on the first 2 but it was absolutely exceptional on the last visit, 100% recommend.

This is my second time visiting and was a total disaster. Ordered 2x lamb shawarmas, and was quite disappointed with them. The meat itself was rubbery and very chewy, the ratio of meat to salad was off, hardly any lamb in there, the new practise of having pre-made scoops of meat to add to the wrap is shocking and extremely tight considering a shawarma is a tenner. Would never come back, consider the many alternatives available in town as this was not great. The only good thing about my experience was the young lad serving me, very polite lad and his customer service was okay.

The Shawarma is amazing and the Service is impeccable. I enjoyed chatting with Mitch and Nadime about the history of Shawarma. Highly recommend.

I gave this restaurant more than one chance because a lot of people recommended it to me. and I tried different things. And I still didn’t like the taste of the food and every time I got my order something would be missing in the order. However I tried it in the restaurant as well it wasn’t really bad but not what I expected since it’s a high rated restaurant in google maps and for the price as well it’s in the high priced side . For me I wouldn’t eat here aging with all the respect!

Best Shawarma I had till now in England !

We don't live in Leeds but visit quite regularly and every time Sqew is a must visit. The food is really great and the staff are always super friendly and helpful - love it, would highly recommend

I had the lamb and chicken shawarmas, both were fantastic - flavoursome and delicious. The guys working there are also friendly and helpful. They gave me recommendations for sauces and salads and dips for the fries. Overall a great experience

Got a meat platter watch the prices said £7 90 and it was £11 90 big difference which I was drunk the meat very fatty well disappointed never again !!!

The best lamb shawarma I've ever tried. Been to many a shawarma places. The guys on the counter were super helpful and nice with their recommendations. They had the pomegranate molasses and Ayran too which is as authentic as it gets! Been waiting ages to try this place! Is it a hype? Nope, it's award winning food!

The chicken shawarma is good, and the meat shawarma, unfortunately, I did not like it. As for the hummus fort, it is excellent, and the falafel sandwich is good.

This is a serious review. Frankly, the concept of kabab is a bit lost in the UK. There are several places that seek to imitate German/Turkish cuisine. This is not one of those places. Frankly, as someone from Ottawa, Canada, where shawarma is taken extremely seriously and the Lebanese diaspora is quite prominent compared to most of the world. Sqews shawarwa is so good it defies reason. It stands as an outlier amongst the imitators. Unless you taste the garlic cream, the pickled turnips, the rotisserie, the crunchy salad, the fresh wrap, the spice, and, as a surprising treat, the chips, you will simply not understand. You will live aceoss from those who have tried good shawarma and who understand. You will continue in your life and enjoy what you enjoy and not realise what you are missing. Just try it. Do it. Be good to yourself. That's all it takes. This food is amazing and you do yourself a disservice by not experiencing it. Just try it.

Had lunch here today. It was very tasty. We had chicken shawarma, mixed shawarma and fries platter. Flavourful and nice fresh salad. Very filling.

Food was amazing and the guys were so nice despite the fact that it was majorly busy on a Friday night. You can customise it exactly how you like and the portions are plenty. Thank you from a Brighton couple here for the weekend 🙂.

I’m from the Middle East and I can honestly say that this place makes the best shawarma in the UK. Really hope the open a spot in London. Everything from the bread, the seasoning on the meat, the thoum, is perfect.

I have been before in sqew turkish food leeds two days ago and i had some food ..I eat half portion and after 24 hours i have been so bad ..i was in hospital and doctor said to me that i had food poisoning ..i have the doctor paper from hospital ..i will never come back in this place because i had food poison...and i say everyone to be very carefull ..

Another visit and I must say the same delicious high standards are evident. Prices have crept up ever so slightly but the portions remain generous and filling. The crowd never ceases so be prepared for a short wait however the service is prompt. The pomegranate drizzle is the shizzle. It is still my go to place when looking for a quick-eat stop in Leeds. Fo'sure!

Fantastic! I've been banging on about the standard of kebabs in Leeds and then I discovered this place. What a game changer. The guys a friendly and willing to help you. The meat is fresh and accompaniments super tasty. Pickles to complement the fatty lamb. Would recommend 100%.

I never expected such authentic shawarma that has me addicted to an unhealthy level because it's moreish, fresh, vibrant, juicy and impeccable flavour! You've outdone yourselves sqew. Seriously...I've had shawarmas far and wide and wow.... Just wow. Id recommend trying the Turkish thinner bread rather than the khubz with the chicken shawarma, it's softer and is now our personal fave. Itching to go back and get another shawarma ASAP!!

The food atmosphere and service is amazing I enjoyed the khobez wrap with mixed shawarma spicy garlic tahini pommogrante molasses with pickles the flavour and wrap it self is amazing The fries were soo deliciously crispy with amazing harrisa seasoning PS even better if hamza namiras music is played in the restaurant I would definitely enjoy the middle eastern vibe id definitely be in lebnon or egypt But nevertheless thank you for your amazing food atmosphere and service. This restaurant offers the best and most authentic shawarma in the UK. Everything here checks all the boxes, from the exceptional food to the outstanding staff and the cozy atmosphere. They even serve complimentary drinks. As an old customer, I've noticed they've improved a lot in a short time. It's my favorite place to visit whenever I'm in the UK.

Their chicken shawarma and sauces are awesome. They offer an authentic Lebanese variety and taste in their sauces. The duo behind the counter is very friendly too. I'd only recommend the owner to add more meat in the portion size; it felt a bit shorthanded. That's the only thing that isn't Arabic. Otherwise, it is definitely my go-to place for an authentic shuwarma.

I travel from another city where there are many different good and authentic Shawarma offerings and the journey here is definitely worth the trip. The lamb and chicken are fantastic and the sauces are very high quality also. On top of this the staff are very friendly and the owner, Mitch, in particular is clearly very passionate and enthusiastic above Shawarma. Overall would highly recommend - probably the best Sharwarma in the north if not the entire UK

I’ve been coming to Sqew from Manchester since 7 months ago. This is the best shawarma I’ve had, and I’ve had them from authentic Arab places in the UK and in the Middle East. Mitch is a really lovely guy and he has great insights into the pairings between the chicken/lamb and the sauces and salad. Their garlic toum is easily the best garlic “sauce” I’ve ever had. Even their fries are amazing. Brilliant customer service and I hear they are coming to Manchester soon!

10/10! The new standard for British kebabs. We had a situation where our friend was after falafel. They were sold out of a full portion much to their disappointment. We were all tucking in and the staff identified the slight disappointment and ended up putting together a small bowl of the last remaining couple of bits of falafel with some salad and sauces. A real touch of class to show this place really cares about their customers. However, lamb kebab until I die. Long live Sqew!

In honest truth, I was SO thrilled when I had heard that a Palestinian/Lebanese inspired food spot was opening in Leeds. I had even spoken to friends and colleagues about going there for lunch together. I had a couple of questions to ask (spares me making a specific trip) and I thought I'd send them a quick email. I had sent this email on 29/04/24 and had not heard anything back from Sqew. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and decided to comment on one of their Instagram posts asking the best way to contact them. The face of Sqew - Mitch - replied to send him a quick message directly through Instagram and he'd be happy to help. Sent my initial message on 04/06/24 and after hearing no response, I assumed they may have missed it so I sent a further message on 15/06/24 to remind him. I write this review on 26/06/24 confirming that there has been no response to any of the messages nor the emails I had sent. I was so excited but in all honesty, this isn't a food review because I never got to try the food. I don't know what the atmosphere is like but I can definitely say that their virtual service is lacking. Sad that it had to come to this but maybe this'll get your attention then Sqew?

This is a great street eat, discovered when in Leeds on Saturday. It was recommended to us by the chap in Little Leeds Beerhouse and we owe him one! The food was superb and the staff were so nice and friendly... perhaps more so than anywhere I've been in a few years. I hope there's a Sqew in more towns and cities in the future with the same emphasis on making the customer feel valued and outstanding food. One of the easiest five star reviews I'll write on here.

The lady is rude and some staff stare at you aggressively when don’t order many things

Verry bad experience , been waiting for 3 hours and it haven’t even come , wasted money and time !! Tomorrow am going in to speak with the manager and hopefully get a refund.

We were disappointed after reading all the positive reviews, lamb kebab lacked flavour no spice in the meat, the salad part was lovely and dips all good. Maybe an off night who knows. Staff were brilliant will try again fingers crossed.

The food is delicious, but most importantly I have to give credit where it’s due to the hard working & friendly staff. I always go there at peak hours when it’s extremely busy, and at times I can tell they’re tired, but they always remain professional with a smile on their faces. Also very impressed with how skilful they are in their systematic serving approach, credit to whoever trained them. Unpleasant experience eating here! No doubt the food is good but when you’re disrespected as a customer by the people serving you, the good food barely remains an attraction to go and eat. I visited this place with one of my friends and we ordered exactly the same sandwich, I was given 4 sauces as asked and she was denied any sauces more than 3. Seems like the people serving there had shifts in their mood hence, the distasteful experience. I cannot think of a logical reason of denying something to someone, when you have just given the same service to someone standing next to them. Denying is one thing, the lady who claimed to be the supervisor kept on arguing and even said that we won’t serve you and you may eat somewhere else. Well, I might even receive a suggestion on my feedback to go and eat elsewhere as other people have been receiving. Customer service is absolutely ridiculous and you people need to work on how to treat people fairly, even if not fairly atleast respectfully.

this place have good food good taste but the service they give is a bit confusing visited alot of times and faced the same problem again. last time talked to owner and he said its okay u can have more sauce in ur shawarma and he solved the problem and after that again I visited and they made it as per my preference. last i visited 2 days ago and the girl over there she was like u can have only 4 options I mentioned them i like the shawarma saucy and already confrimed about the sauce dressing with owner and he said its okay we just guide to have less sauce bcz its difficult to eat, but when I told the same to the people who were service they denied it to add extra sauce after telling them charge extra no issue but atleast make according to my preference theres no big deal to add one more sauce. may be need to stop going there if it happens again. and the worst part it they dont knw the customer service they just try to argue and dont listen. as theres no option for reply i have to edit it here. thank you so much for your suggestion to eat somewhere else . I've been here only once (July 2023) and the food was nice. I followed then on Instagram and only just realised they've blocked me on there. Must have been because I sent them a polite DM saying they're cooking and selling Arab food and ingredients from Lebanon but selling Coca-Cola/Pepsi products who support the killing of Palestinians. That DM was sent weeks ago. I'll never eat at sqew ever again if this is how they treat customers who call them out for their double standards

The kebabs are superb and deserve the praise. The hummus is underwhelming. I know that smoothness for many is considered plus, but often, like in this case, it feels watery and lacks in body and depth. Also not cheap (the hummus again).

Avoid this place, quality has massively gone down. The chicken and lamb shawarma are not always fresh. Had food poisoning since last week and now suffering from extreme acid reflux after consuming this.

I used to come here every so often as service and food is great. However on my recent visit, unfortunately I had gotten food poisoning.

After a long hunt for authentic Lebanese shawarma, I'm finally home! The chicken was absolutely amazing, succulent , and had the perfect spices.. toum is to die for (and for a Lebanese person, that's the most important ingredient in a shawarma sandwich). The pickles definitely hit the spot.. Haven't tried the lamb, but my husband was gobsmacked even though he's never been to Lebanon.. worth the 3 hr drive.. we even HAD to take some back home for dinner! The staff were amazing, every single one! The owner was very welcoming, helpful, and took his time to listen to me endlessly talking about how much I enjoyed the experience! I've only tasted such good shawarma back in Beirut.. we'll definitely be back!

Went with my wife who is Lebanese and she was extremely impressed with the quality and authenticity of the Shawarma. I found the food amazing so much flavour in the food it tasted amazing would highly recommend and the staff are so nice and welcoming. It was so good we took extra food home with us for dinner.

We visited Sqew yesterday after watching for months on instagram. The food was amazing, we travelled from Manchester for this. It was worth the miles. The lamb was soft the flavours were great, the harissa fries were lovely. The flavours were mouth watering. Hopefully we can visit again! Thanks again Mitch. The food and the hospitality was fantastic.

Went last night for the first time after seeing it on tiktok. 8pm on a Saturday night it was fairly busy but the staff never rushed me and didn’t get flustered or annoyed by us asking questions. All the staff were lovely especially the moustache guy who is clearly loving it and is very passionate about his job! The food itself was yum. Lovely fresh food and a nice range of sauces, they grill the outside of the wrap so it’s doesn’t fall open while you’re eating it. Decent portion of skin on chips on the side too. This place is the Waitrose of kebab shops and I’ll definitely go again.

Staff were great and a nice buzz about the place.... they were out of lamb which was a bummer and i checked the instagram and no message was there. Maybe update the instagram stories if you run out of anything. Shawarma was great good flavour. The hummus bowl was expensive and thats fine but was lacking hummus in the bowl ... not like advertised videos have seen . Not as tasty as ''Leeds Shawarma'' On Harehills lane but the whole experience is better although you pay a price for it. Either way i will return for the Lamb !

Sqew kebabs has been my favorite meal in leeds for the past 2 months. Their lamb shawarma is absolutely untouched in the uk. Other than their high quality shawarmas their customer intimacy is something that has to be learnt in the hospitality industry. The whole team is excellent when it comes to communicating with the customer and they always remember returning customers and make them feel good about their decision.
