The hotpot buffet is such a good value for money! You can eat hotpot and bbq at once. The hotpot stock is very spicy and authentic. Ingredients are fresh and have a variety of sauce to choose for! The staff here are so nice and attentive! Love this place.

My family have been coming here for years. The food is really good, decent portions and with a good choice. We've never had the hotpot or grill but it's very popular. I'd describe the place as "canteen like" but it's popular with tourists, students, and their own people........which I always say, is a good sign for good food. There is a lunch menu which is good value for money. The staff are very attentive and the place is clean. Will continue going there for as long as it's there.

Incredible food!!! My favourite Chinese restaurant, great value for money with huge portion sizes. Every dish I've tried has been delicious, I've been at least 7 times now and have had takeaway once, every time I have been incredibly satisfied. Have the garlic chicken, it is gorgeous.

Had all you can eat hotpot, the selection is not the greatest, but price for value. They are also using individual hotpot, so you don't have to worry about contaminating others food with what you want to you.

Decidedly “Meh” — nice menu of items and fast service, but food is bland and seems to be low budget ingredients. Tried to add chicken to a dry fried vegetables dish (that was soupy wet btw), and was told NO because “too messy” — ok…? Spring rolls are just tiny fried egg rolls out of a freezer box. Don’t waste your time, there are much better Chinese restaurants in Cambridge.

Always a favourite for relatively authentic Chinese food in Cambridge. Try the crispy chilli fried pork intestines or the grouper tofu fish stew.

Spent close to £100 between the two of us. Crispy duck almost £20 but portion size severely lacking; Sweet and Sour chicken tough; Egg Rice was orange but not eggy; Beef dishes plentiful of other ingredients other than beef; vegetable spring rolls were small and chewy. For £100 you expect a feast- We’re very disappointed.

Ordered crispy duck via an online service. What arrived did not resemble crispy duck by any reasonable measure and I'm not sure was even duck. Instead of shredded duck it looked more like diced pork. Won't be ordering from this place or that online service again.

Went there for a hotpot. Came a half hour before our reservation and got the table anyway which was very nice. Pros 1. Selection of broths was nice, 5 different ones, from spicy to clear. 2. Wide selection of veggies, meats and seafood for the hotpot. 3. £25 per person for all you can eat was a fair price. 4. Staff were really helpful and offered forks for chopstick-challenged people 😂 Cons 1. Interior design of the place is deceivingly simplistic. Don’t expect extravagant decorations.

We ordered take out. Unfortunately the food was much too spicy for me and my girlfriend. We ate most of it but it seemed like it was all spice, I couldn't taste the actual food and flavours, which was a shame. She had Chicken Satay and I had Black Bean Tofu. We decided to get take out as the restaurant was very busy and cramped with tables very close together, the kitchen is right next to the tables so it was quite loud and hard to hear what the person next to you was saying! Not a wheelchair friendly restaurant at all. I saved some of the food in the fridge for the next day thinking that maybe I was overreacting about the spice, but no, it was still too spicy with a fresh palate the next morning and the leftovers went in the bin.

I went to eat here 4 times in july 2023 Best meal I had curry seafood. Ask for students menu for well discoumted meals

A small, simple chinese cafe with reasonable prices, quick service, and tasty food, this is a go-to spot in the neighbourhood for authentic tastes. Cash only, down to earth, and no frills, don’t expect romance or charm, but do expect to finish every single dish and leave satisfied. The tofu and aubergine dishes are especially delightful, and wait times are generally quick.

Always 5 stars food and service. Beef soft , melting in your mouth and the spiciness of chicken with chilli just make you want more.

The best chines food in Cambridge

Do not eat here. Food is frozen and reheated upon order. I had Singapore noodles that were dry, no taste and no traces of it being stir fried. It was a frozen dish that sat on the microwave until it was put on the plate. The servers were rude. The woman said that’s how it is, dried. Disappointing experience. There are lots of Asian places in Cambridge, this one is the poorest one.

Have been here three times with friends. Consistently worst service attitude I’ve ever seen. The server speaks a dialect which I don’t understand when I gently asked what she means i was shouted at to the point that 3 quarters of customers in the store turned to us. There are also insects in the hotpot sauces.

Very disappointed. Potato and aubergine were burnt and taste bitter. Had to throw them away. Can't believe they are serving food like this to customers.

The food was good, however we had several akward and uncomfortable moments with the staff. As one note, we waited for ages for our food. When they brought the bill, they told us the final amount and before we proceed with the payment, they forced us to add the service charge on top of it which was not stated anywhere. Furthermore, we initially chose this restaurant as they announced themselves as "Here we accept AMEX", but then when I was going to use my AMEX card, the waitress started to say that if I use the AMEX card I must give them a double service charge. All this was really uncomfortable and I would rather preffer to go to a place where the staff have a more charming behavior. If you are not willing to accept AMEX payment, do not announce with stickers everywhere in the restaurant that you accept AMEX payments. Also, do not enforce service charge, this is really unacceptable - specially on cases where the people were not happy with the service.

The dipping sauce for hotpot isnt sweet enough. Very busy restaurant.

Tried the henan noodles soup for lunch and it was amazing for winter!! The soup was really hot and taste amazing.They increased the price to 8gbp but still worth it.The portion was really huge! I didn’t finished it haha. Definitely recommend

Delicious hotpot, £21 for all you can eat, cook at your own pace, great selection of fresh looking ingredients. I've tried a few and it's the best hot pot place so far in Cambridge. Friendly staff, they wishes us a happy new year :)

Food was good - great portions but a bit too oily. Hopefully this can be avoided if you let the kitchen stuff know beforehand. The atmosphere was kind of okay. Service / communication wasn't great.

Go here! Authentic delicious Chinese food with very reasonable food prices. I had loose leave tea with one of my favorites MaPao Tofu. I am not sure the English translation, but it was really really good. They also had hot pot which was for 2+ people that looks amazing. So happy and hope to go here again one day! Thank you

Lunch menu offers great value Chinese food. Really liked the hot and sour soup noodles. Update: finally tried the all you can eat hot pot + BBQ and enjoyed the experience. Good range of meats, vegetables and noodles. Great value.

Good Restaurant Good menu with different choices. From hot pot to barbecue to individual dishes to dumplings. Taste authentic. Good services. The staff are nice, polite and helpful. Reasonable price too. Therefore I went a lot of times already. As a remindee, it takes cash only. So don't forget to bring your cash.

Ordered from Deliveroo. The worst Chinese takeaway I've had in a long long time. Everything was very bland and low quality. The half crispy duck was a joke - the duck was just cubes of breast meat in a box, so it definitely was not half a duck's worth. A crispy duck should be shreddable. It lacked taste and was not CRISPY as per the name of the dish!! The pancakes kept breaking apart, not because they were overpacked but just because they were so frail and dry and pathetic. The cucumber was basically dehydrated. Not sure what sauce we got but it wasn't any hoisin sauce I know of. The beef hofun was bland as a whole - the meat was ok in texture but there was no classic hofun flavour. The salt and chilli wings were the least bland but the skin was soft/soggy. £38 for a tasteless meal. Definitely avoid this place.

Two stars for quick delivery nothing else. Disappointed with the food. For £10 a dish there is almost no chicken, tiny tiny pieces. Really nothing special unfortunately such a shame I request refund.

Some of the best dumplings I have ever had! The portions are very large, and very cheap during lunch hours (£5-7 for almost any dish from 11:30 to 4:30).

A local favorite for my friends and I. The food, no question, is always incredible with the special mention of our house favorites: salt and pepper squid, seafood fried rice and Henan noodle soup. If you're feeling adventurous try the hot and crispy pork intestines and compliment it with their spicy pickled radish. Try the AYCE hotpot and grill, which is actually cheaper than most local hotpot hotspots in Cambridge. Comfort food at its finest without having to spend so much....

Very rude owner, dirty place.tongs for each hotpot ingredient, same tongs can be used between raw meat and veg. And only cash?

Maybe we got unlucky with our choices but we found the food uninspiring: one-note dishes with almost no extra ingredients beyond those named e.g. beef noodles were pretty much just loads of noodle and some bits of beef. The place was also smoky from the cooking, insanely hot - even with the door open - and there were lots of flies. The staff were friendly.

Only the second time I have been to this Resturant and I am blown away again. The food is just amazing! I ordered Singapore noodles and the contents and flavour is just perfect! Staff are lovely and it’s just a nice place to dine!

Great place to go with friends for unlimited hot pot (and BBQ for 2 GBP extra). There is a good variety of meats, fish, noodles, and vegetables. There is also a good variety to make a sauce on the side. What I really like is that each person can get their own individual hot pot bowl with our own soups. The soup is also unlimited. The only drawback is the staff speaks limited English. You can make a booking ahead of time over the phone.

Unsanitary environment. Sticky table & chairs. No dedicated tongs for each hotpot ingredient, same tongs can be used between raw meat, veg, fish & carbs. Pieces of raw meat were hanging off their container in the hotpot self-serve area. The restaurant has a hygiene rating of 3/5, what is there left to say?

This was our second visit to Spring and it was as good as I remembered. Just before lockdown 1 we visited for a quick meal and were impressed with the price, service and quality. There is nothing fancy inside - it is a typical chinese takeaway - but the food was very good and well priced. Our second visit included a starter, a soup and a beer each. This was enough to be an entire meal and was remarkably well priced. You can order expensive meals too but this was enough for us. Highly recommended if you are after typical Chinese food.

Great for Chinese hotpot, the ingredients for it are buffet-style, so you can pick up as much as you want for your own pot. Staff are friendly. Decor is a little rough around the edges. No private parking, so you may be better visiting on foot or cycling.

Do not order crispy sweet and spicy beef. It is npt crispy and tastes like carton. Lamb is nice

Tried takeaway. Small portion. Way over priced. £25 for not much. Not great for the signature fish dish. Going back to no.72 restaurant instead.

Really nice eating experience. Far more authentic than your traditional English Chinese. The hot pot experience is great. You get to choose a soup and then choose from a range of items to cook either in the hot soup or on a plate built into the table as a BBQ. It's really good fun. It's an all you can eat buffet and so no doggy bags allowed. Just stay for the experience and eat as much as you can.

Surprisingly, we've walked past Spring Restaurant countless times and only recently we learned their specialty is the Hot Pot buffet! The all-you-can eat costs about £18, +£2 if you also want the grill. The dining table has an integrated grill and one induction dish per seat that lets you control the temperature of your Hot Pot. There's plenty of available vegetables, meats and sauces. It was very humid and warm last time we went, maybe a better ventilation systems would be in order.

We've been going to this restaurant for many years now. The food is very good. The portions are large and the price, very affordable. We like the Henan noodles that is available on the Lunch menu. Service is fast. And they also have a Hot Pot buffet which is great and well worth it.

The food was good and cheap. However, the place was cash only, not ideal in COVID times. Also, the loo had a stench similar to livestock and had single sheet toilet paper.

We ordered vegetarian dishes and it was all amazing: the brocolli and beans were perfectly cooked (with a little bite), the aubergine was creamy soft and everything beautifully spiced and flavoured - and this was delivered! Our new go-to place.
