We enjoyed staying here for the second time in 2 years. Nice clean room with superb comfy mattresses, food at the pub/restaurant was lovely and delivered fast, breakfast was a good choice too.

Arrived for Carvery on Sunday. Poor vegetable choice, ok meal. Won't go bavk

I stayed hear on Saturday night with my partner must say the housekeeping assistance Jo, Dannii and Billy went above and beyond to ensure that this stay was a good one, they were very informative on local attractions, pub was lovely overall a very pleasant stay, would highly recommend 😁

As far as carverys go this in one of the best quality ones around in the same price range. Staff we really helpful and polite and service was quick even in peak busy times. Would recommend. Better than Toby or other local carvery places for dame kind of money. Will return

Upon arrival, the car park was easy to find and the area was clean with plenty of parking spaces. The signage to the reception to check in was easy to follow and there was someone at the desk to check us in and allocate a key, we stayed in room 219. We went to our room which was, again, well sign posted within the separate building across from the pub itself. The only issue we found was that there was no lift, we had some heavy bags and a suitcase. There was only my six year old and I, so it took me a couple of trips! The room itself was clean and there was toilet roll, hand soap and shower gel available in the en suite. The tea and coffee was stocked too. The room was basic but more than ok for a good nights sleep. The bed was comfortable and happily there were plug sockets next to the bed for charging phones etc. There was quite a lot of noise through the corridor during the night and I was woken a couple of times by people talking loudly and what sounded like someone running around and jumping above the room a few times late at night and very early morning. We also ate dinner at the hotel which was reasonably priced and tasted good. There was a nice park out the back as well which was a pleasant surprise for my daughter! Breakfast was great and the omelette was delicious with a good spread of continental breakfast which is included in the price of the breakfast. All in all, we had a good stay and the staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful.

All 6 of us received a warm welcome and our food was presented fresh and hot. We did have a few allergies between us and was grateful that this was taken seriously. A brilliant experience overall

I just can’t recommend this place enough. We visited Sunday afternoon, around 4.30pm, we hadn’t booked and needed a table of 5 and it was really busy. The staff were very accommodating, efficient and friendly. An absolute credit to you. We had 2 carvery Sunday lunches, which were fresh, hot and we could see it was being replenished regularly. I really liked the fact that we were notified when our other meals were nearly ready, so we could go and get our carvery and true to their word, as we sat to the table, our other 3 meals arrived, enabling us all eat at the same time. These meals were also of good quality. I also felt it was excellent value for money. Well done all, for such a busy establishment, you are all doing an amazing job. Thank you

Great carvery midweek and weekends, service attentive and pleasant. Bar staff friendly and helpful , good atmosphere. Recommended for couples and families.

The selection of food was good could of been warmer. Only two slices of beef!!

One of the better chain hotels. Certainly a cut above premier inn or Travelodge. Room was geat. The only downside, for a marstons establishment was the pretty poor selection of real ales. Three amber beers and pedigree. But what they had was well kept.

Booking was easy and we were welcomed at the door. Table had been wiped but was sticky. Carvery beef was almost inedible it was so tough. Would have like broccoli or green cabbage instead of peas.

I recently visited this restaurant and am giving it 4 stars. When I first arrived, I was quite set on giving it just 1 star, mainly due to the price of drinks, which I found to be quite steep. However, after experiencing the service and the food, I want to be fair to them. Honestly, giving this place a 1 or even 2-star rating would be very difficult because they really do excel in many areas. For starters, they managed to seat 8 of us with very little notice, despite the fact that we hadn't booked. The food was fantastic and amazingly priced, offering great value for the quality. Even better were the desserts – they really exceeded expectations and were an absolute highlight of the meal. I couldn't complain at all about the food, and I'm not the type to complain unnecessarily. The only real letdowns were the price of the drinks and the 30% off voucher we received, which unfortunately couldn't be used at this location but only at another restaurant we wouldn’t normally visit. While that was a bit disappointing, it pales in comparison to the overall experience. In the end, the service, atmosphere, and quality of the food made it a really enjoyable visit. The high drink prices and odd voucher policy were minor setbacks compared to everything else they got right.

I stay here most years when I visit events at Staffordshire Showground and I've never had a bad experience. To start with, the accommodation is clean, spacious, well appointed and good value. The food is decent and plentiful and there's always a good selection of beers on tap. The highlights for me though are the atmosphere, which is warm and friendly and the staff. The service is superb from the bar and waiting staff to the management. A special shout out to Martin and Jaz who keep the whole thing running nicely and with a smile. Keep up the good work and I look forward to joining you again next year.

Very friendly and efficient service. Booked a table which was ideal and had a very tasty meal. Not too noisy even though it was busy.

Staff were all so friendly and attentive. Roast was really good. Had a gluten free spinach tart and it was great. Was busy but didn’t impact service or food. Definitely going to go back.

Came here for dinner which was lovely and very speedy service and had breakfast the next morning which was delicious. We were served by Jaz who was very friendly and polite.

We were welcomed warmly by the lovely friendly Jaz this morning after our 3 1/2 hour journey up from Devon. The much anticipated breakfast was piping hot and delicious, and Jaz’s customer service second to none. We stop here several times in a year abd today’s food and service was the best ever! Carvery was fantastic and staff were great, didn't wait for a long time to get plates cleared just overall a fantastic meal. We will be returning for the carvery soon.

Chips were not freshly made, kid's mac&cheese came with bbq sauce and pork scratchings which I did not order (unsuitable for a 2.5 year old vegetarian), but other than the food- drinks were OK, staff was friendly and fast to serve. So a 50/50 success rate on your part. Play area needs a lot of attention, benches need painting, cleaning or generally removing from the area. Kids playing field needs detailed attention to be made kid safe.

Absolutely amazing! Have recently gone Gluten Free and struggling knowing what I can and can't eat, the staff member called Sonia was such a massive help in helping me know what they offer. Lovely late lunch here today. Hubby had mixed grill and I had the carvery. Lots of options on the menu and carvery. We hadn’t booked but after a short wait front of house found us a table. Can see why it’s really busy. Highly recommend

We stayed Fri-Sun, the staff were very polite and helpful, the room was basic but clean and adequate for our stay, the hairdryer was a godsend as I forgot to bring mine. Although could have done with an iron or a press in the room, we had a full breakfast on Saturday Morning which was fresh and generous. You also could as much coffee, juice, tea as you wanted and also toast and a variety of spreads and fresh fruit. We had dinner on the Saturday night and it was beautiful and freshly cooked and very generous portions. Overall, we enjoyed our time there and will stay again when we next visit our relatives in Bloxwhich

Loverly place to eat and drink and breakfast is freshly done. Staff very pleasant .atmosphere relaxed and quiet.

I havent been in a while and the carvery was very disappointing on this visit, We visited at a very quiet time and it looked like everything had been out on display for a long time, the beef was how I like it tho (well done, which is not to most peoples taste), the Yorkshire puddings were unfortunately like burnt cardboard, the pigs in blankets were very well done, the peas and carrots looked dry on top, and the roast potatoes were barely warm, luckily a very friendly member of staff offered to heat my food up for me and was very apologetic and professional. Overall the carvery was very disappointing, my friends all had different meals tho (not the carvery) and they all liked their food, I want to praise the excellent customer service, the atmosphere was nice and welcoming although there was a man walking around a lot looking sort of lost

We were driving past and at the last minute decided to pop in for a carvery we had a very friendly welcome and quickly seated . Ordered with the QR code drinks came within 5-10 minutes with our carvery vouchers . Good selection of meat and veg the beef was cooked to perfection roasters just how I like them veg all cooked perfectly . I’m not a huge Yorkshire pudding fan and normally only eat a small amount but I ate the lot was lovely compliments to the chef !! Staff were attentive asked us if everything was ok cleared our plates away quickly . Toilets clean parking was great could not fault in anyway . Thank you for an enjoyable Sunday lunch

Met up to meet family. Good service, staff very polite. Food was good, just what you expect. Children near to us constantly crying (sort of) just making an annoying noise. Parents were oblivious. Great after they left. Good beer.

From booking a table, as we walked in, bar staff and also Alan, the head chef, who dished out the meat and the carvery. Very enjoyable experience. Jasmine helped us very much at our daughters first birthday. We’d brought cake and balloons and the staff were very accommodating and welcoming.

Very smooth service, a double order was processed in the kitchen and a member of staff came to confirm and check if a double payment had gone through which was very helpful. Update; have been back since and had an amazing experience with Sonia over 2 breakfasts, she was lovely to interact with and very attentive to myself and my colleague.

We had a great time, after a long day and the staff made us feel right at home. The service was prompt and friendly. Hannah was our server and she deserves a raise for being awesome.

Only visited for drinks today as passing by, have eaten previously and the food was good. This morning, it didn't look like a thorough clean had been completed as at 12.06pm there were tissues on the floor and window in the ladies toilets and a lot of crumbs over the carpet. We are from out of area but regularly pass by, the group had 2 pints of Estrella with were 6.15 each. In our area this is 4.44 obviously different areas have different prices but I thought worth noting not sure if anyone in the area could compare to other local pubs and prices?

Best value for money breakfast everything was cooked perfect with as many hot drinks you want throughly enjoyed. Sonia our server was so friendly and super efficient too checking we were enjoying our food and had what we want. Enjoyed our visit 100%

Lowest common denominator menu choices, using cheap ingredients. Similar to Hungry Horse. One step up from fast food like MacDonalds. Hotel rooms very good for the price though - clean, quiet, modern.

If I could have give a 0 star I would. 2nd time now the meat has been disgusting. The beef wasn't even edible. Needed a chain saw to cut it and a good set of dentures to chew. Then your left with a big string of veins We Visited on 8th September there was 10 of us. Also a young girl behind the bar made a mistake and the woman who was serving my drink was vile to her. The young girl went out the back and then the woman who is older should have known better started slating her to other staff behind the bar. Not very professional. Also staff made us feel uncomfortable kept coming to table and looking at there watch. Definitely wanted us to leave. Will never come here again. 1st time experience was not great but thought would give a 2nd chance. What a wrong decision

Great Sunday carvery, staff were good too

My first time trying this pub and can say not hugely impressed. Hospitality wasn’t great to say the least. Staff on the bar and front arrival desk were really disorganised and didn’t make me feel welcomed at all, I was told parts of the menu wasn’t being served that day then other people were ordering it and it was being served then told tables were reserved then random people just went on the table and it wasn’t reserved. I ended up not eating in the end had a soft drink and just left. Don’t think I will be trying there again. Probably best suited to serve the locals as opposed to out of town folk.
