Good comfortable accommodation at a fair price. Food and drink options were good too

Went to the Spread Eagle for a celebratory meal for my Grandsons birthday. The food was excellent, well cooked and promptly served. The two steaks and a bottle of wine was a bargain!

The pub was very busy but we got a table straight away. Food was excellent, hot, tasty and there was just enough to fill us up. The staff are friendly and welcoming

Being vegetarian, most carvery charge a lower price for just vegetables with no meat or vegetarian option. Unfortunately, you have to pay the same price here for just a plate of veg, which makes it rather expensive. Saying that the food is always hot, nice and tasty and staff are always friendly. Unfortunately the cappucino, athough nice, is always luke warm so by the time you get to your table, it's cold.

The carvery is good value, the Banks's is a lovely pint.

My family from Stratford and me from Stoke-on-trent use this as a meet and eat catchup. We have done this twice now and have really enjoyed both times. The food quality is exceptional and the staff and service are brilliant, even when it is so busy. The food area (carvery) is very clean and kept hot but fresh. We will definitely be back.

Really friendly staff, food was a little over cooked for my taste and while I think pubs should be open to children and dogs there really should be a divide in the seating arrangements to alow adults to distance themselfs from the playful noises

SUE S has been a lovely host. She made us feel welcome the first time we came she chatted to us about the breakfast menu as we asked her about it. She makes you feel welcome in the pub it's nice to know there's still lovely people about. Also when she collects our empty plates she comes over with a smile and asks how we are. We have been coming a few weeks now and will continue to as the carvery is beautiful 😍

Brilliant service from start to finish, nice to be let know when food was coming out soon someone who ordered carvery could get their food so we all ate together, table was cleared quickly when everyone had finished eating. Only slight problem was lighting abit too low but overall brilliant as always

We have been going here for about a year and the food is always great however the last two times we found the steak to be very tough.we told them and they gladly refunded me. Today we had the same problem the give us another of which was the same. They refunded and offered any meal of of our liking as compensation but we did not take them up on that offer. My point of this review is not to blame but to let them know where the are going wrong and better. It is still our favourite pub and restaurant and we will be returning.

Party of 4 booked for a meal. Friendly helpful staff. Toilets clean. Carvery good. Only minor issue - 1 diner initially asked for fish and chips but this wasn't available. (This was a Monday so fairly quiet.)

The food was absolutely delicious – perfectly cooked meats, a wide variety of vegetables, and all the trimmings you’d expect from a top-notch carvery. The gravy was rich and flavorful, tying everything together beautifully. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring everything was to our satisfaction throughout the meal. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for a Sunday lunch or a casual meal out with family. Highly recommend if you’re looking for quality food at a reasonable price. Food was good.Only disappointment was not having Oat or Soya Milk.Which is unusual.This meant my only option for a hot drink was Black Coffee .Other than that ,on the whole ,the staff were great

My previous review of the spread eagle stated staff weren't very friendly Well clearly staff have changed....Greeted at the door, given a choice of seats, had Carvery. It was hot everything was fresh , the cauliflower cheese was amazing. The carver was friendly and gave a good amount of meat. Definitely our favourite place now! There's plenty of parking, easy access if you have mobility issues. Staff are friendly the restaurant is clean

Good pub food, great service. Few things missing off menu but was informed early on. Would definitely return.

We have visited here numerous times, however on this occasion we were seated by the carvery section. Whilst sitting here we noticed the chef handling food (not wearing gloves) with his fingers, picking up yorkshire puddings to put in serving dishes and also picking up a beef joint to transfer that. When serving people he did use utensils but the food had already been handled. I don't think we will be visiting in the near future.

Excellent food, professional and polite staff.

We met up at the spread eagle as it was half way between maidenhead and preston...we that is parents, sons, daughter, son in law and 4 grandchildren. We arrived in dribs and drabs and for 3 hours ate & drank in a very convivial atmosphere. The staff were very accommodating even finding the crayons for the word search. The staff never made us feel we needed to move on. Can you thank the staff on our behalf. The " spend" was over four cards...

Great pub and hotel. We stayed here twice recently and ate at the spread eagle. The carvery was excellent value for money and the breakfast was also very good. Opt for a full English and get access to continental too. Good food, happy service and a good nights sleep with heating and air on which would be good for those hit summer days. The pub also boasts a great outdoor area for drinks and food with a size-able adventure playground for the kids

Plenty of staff so no waiting and menu was much improved from our last visit.

We stayed at the inn and went to the carvery twice during our two recent stays. Amongst the meat selection, I enjoyed their gammon the most. It simply melted in my mouth. Plenty of classic vegetables choice, and help yourself sauces. They have sizable outdoor area with playground for kids. Staffs were friendly, plenty of parking, reasonable pricing.

We went for a carvery. Upon ordering we were told there was only beef and turkey meat. This was fine as all the veg was recently put out. Massive Yorkshire puds! You can either order at the bar or scan the QR code on your table.

Having a child with special needs and continuity with food and flavour and staff is very important and the staff here always take time to interact with my daughter, from management to waiting staff, you leave here not feeling like a paying customer but out in great company.

We had a table of 11 people booked for my uncle in laws 60th. The menu was good. Most went for the carvery. I asked for a candle to be put on my uncles pudding. They happily agreed. We will definitely be back. Loved it. I would recommend booking a table as they get very busy (we went on a Sunday)

Gets very busy during Sunday lunch times. The queues for the carvery can be off putting. Food is average at best but reasonably priced. We only use it as we meet friends and its central to all of us.

Good staff nice selection of beers and spirits plenty of room to sit and dine food is good whether it from the carvery or ordering from the bar been here a few time gets pretty packed in the summer months with the big garden.

We enjoyed staying here for the second time in 2 years. Nice clean room with superb comfy mattresses, food at the pub/restaurant was lovely and delivered fast, breakfast was a good choice too.

I stayed hear on Saturday night with my partner must say the housekeeping assistance Jo, Dannii and Billy went above and beyond to ensure that this stay was a good one, they were very informative on local attractions, pub was lovely overall a very pleasant stay, would highly recommend 😁

As far as carverys go this in one of the best quality ones around in the same price range. Staff we really helpful and polite and service was quick even in peak busy times. Would recommend. Better than Toby or other local carvery places for dame kind of money. Will return

Upon arrival, the car park was easy to find and the area was clean with plenty of parking spaces. The signage to the reception to check in was easy to follow and there was someone at the desk to check us in and allocate a key, we stayed in room 219. We went to our room which was, again, well sign posted within the separate building across from the pub itself. The only issue we found was that there was no lift, we had some heavy bags and a suitcase. There was only my six year old and I, so it took me a couple of trips! The room itself was clean and there was toilet roll, hand soap and shower gel available in the en suite. The tea and coffee was stocked too. The room was basic but more than ok for a good nights sleep. The bed was comfortable and happily there were plug sockets next to the bed for charging phones etc. There was quite a lot of noise through the corridor during the night and I was woken a couple of times by people talking loudly and what sounded like someone running around and jumping above the room a few times late at night and very early morning. We also ate dinner at the hotel which was reasonably priced and tasted good. There was a nice park out the back as well which was a pleasant surprise for my daughter! Breakfast was great and the omelette was delicious with a good spread of continental breakfast which is included in the price of the breakfast. All in all, we had a good stay and the staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful.

All 6 of us received a warm welcome and our food was presented fresh and hot. We did have a few allergies between us and was grateful that this was taken seriously. A brilliant experience overall

I just can’t recommend this place enough. We visited Sunday afternoon, around 4.30pm, we hadn’t booked and needed a table of 5 and it was really busy. The staff were very accommodating, efficient and friendly. An absolute credit to you. We had 2 carvery Sunday lunches, which were fresh, hot and we could see it was being replenished regularly. I really liked the fact that we were notified when our other meals were nearly ready, so we could go and get our carvery and true to their word, as we sat to the table, our other 3 meals arrived, enabling us all eat at the same time. These meals were also of good quality. I also felt it was excellent value for money. Well done all, for such a busy establishment, you are all doing an amazing job. Thank you
