Good food and service and Stacey was a lovely host

I came in on Monday and purchased breakfast food was lovely but wow the service I received was absolutely amazing what a delightful lady her name was Lisa will highly recommend and definitely be returning so thank you Lisa what a pleasure

Stayed at the hotel and ate in the restaurant, was served by Holly who was brilliant. Lovely friendly lady who, whilst I didn’t have any problems, I would have complete faith that she would have sorted them, all with a smile on her face

My sister’s wedding day was nearly ruined by the shear lack of organisation and quality here. The reception room was shoddy and needs refreshing with food splatted up the walls which I had to clean off, ripped wallpaper, cellotape left all over the walls from previous decorations. The tables were wrong, the tables cloths not ironed and chair covers not ready so we could prepare the room on the morning of the wedding. We did however manage to make the room look absolutely gorgeous with lots of decorations and a team to prepare it for the day. The toilet next to the room has three cubicles one of which was out of order and the tap didn’t work properly so I had to wipe the soap off my hands with tissue. There was a small sign which I noticed afterwards saying to use the sink in the restaurant due to the taps working intermittently. How is this hygienic to use a toilet then have to walk through a restaurant to another bathroom to wash your hands! This should of been fixed! When we went to collect the decorations the next morning, they had thrown away all the lace bunting and also one of the beautiful flowers in her silk bouquet had been taken. Thankfully the rest of the day was so beautiful it didn’t ruin the wedding but people should be aware of the problems we had.

Not bad for food and a few beers. If you stay in one of the hotel rooms, they are well presented and clean, HOWEVER, if like me you get a room in the gods, be aware, it's like summiting the north face of Everest.....with your suitcase. Sherpa Tenzing does not work Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays and every second Tuesday 🤣

Visited yesterday and had the Carvery. It was lovely. I am disabled and need a stick to walk and your wonderful lady serving asked me if I wanted her to put my vegetables etc on . I said yes please and said to her to put my plate on the level surface and my friend would carry it back for me . The next thing another lovely lady arrived and carried it back to our table . My friends that were with me all said the same how good these two ladies were . Excellent service .

Had a meal with my partner, for her birthday, told our waitress. Our waitress with curly hair I think her name was Sam. She went above and beyond for us. Brilliant service, kept our drinks topped up and was just genuinely brilliant. To cap it off she sang happy birthday for my partner which made the whole experience even better.

Excellent family Sunday lunch. Had the beef which was superb. Family also had the trio of meat which was also excellent. Couldn't fault the service and the ambience of the restaurant. Will definitely be returning soon (can't wait for summer evenings to use the beautiful outdoor space!!)

Came in with my family for a birthday meal and our waitress for the evening (Sam with the curly hair) was absolutely brilliant... nothing was too much trouble, recommended some great food and even sang hapoy birthday to the birthday boy.... highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Just been for breakfast at the himley house this morning with my mum. The eggs were cooked beautifully, tasty and presented well. Our server Sam was welcoming and attentive. Thank you!

Very nice staff. Service was a little delayed as it was extremely busy. Staff came over and explained that it may be a half an hour wait and asked if we would be ok with that. Lovely waitress and meal was beautiful Parking plentiful.

Nice ambiance. Good selection of food (3 menus, main, special, meal deal (2 and 3 courses).Attentive friendly staff serving, reasonable prices. Make sure you get code from bar staff for 'exit barrier' on car park.

I have eaten at the Himley House a few times since it has been refurbished. The food is always excellent - good choice and tasty. I last ate there on a Burns Night Special. It was very busy. Despite this, our waitress Erin gave us wonderful service with a smile. On deliverying the wine to the table she explained that they had run out of wine coolers, but would bring one over if one became available. She was good to her word, and shortly brought over a cooler. She explained alternatives that were availablle when our chosen dessert had run out. All in all, an excellent experience. Thank you Himley House & particalarly, thank you Erin.

Went for pot of tea in front of the log fire. We then ordered coffee and was so comfortable decided to stay for lunch. Staff very efficient and friendly. We'll worth a visit.

Visited the Himley House tonight, we were served by a lovely lady named Kaitlyn, my wife has an onion allergy so she find courses without onion difficult to find. Kaitlyn was fantastic she went into the kitchen and checked the items ordered. My wife had to change her order a few times due to sauces having gravy, Kaitlyn was apologetic when she had to do this, but it wasn’t her fault. My wife and I would like to personally thank her, she is a credit to the Himley House and we will definitely be visiting again. If I can suggest, as this isn’t just the Himley house, can people with onion allergies, be considered when deciding to include onion in sauces.

Great place, easy access and good food.

Have been this evening with friends and could not fault the entire experience. The staff were friendly and efficient and were positive and ensured we were welcomed and attended to. Food was amazing and the decor and ambience following the recent refurbishment wa spot on. If you fancy a little luxury in a lovely setting with great service then recommend you try Himely House. The team there work well together.

Not Enough Lunchtime Staff. Anyone can make a mistake. To keep repeating the error is idiocy.Yet again, and during a hugely popular "2 mains for £20" promotion only 2 waitresses and 1 barman/waiter on duty. This is a repeated lunchtime mistake....totally different to our experience on the evening of 19th December for my wifes birthday meal when the staffing, and experience were both excellent. My lamb shank choice was cremated and returned, to be replaced with another similar offering. As my wife had almost finished her meal and I was now famished, I accepted the 2nd attempt, thanks to Sam the waitresses best efforts to appease. Thank you Sam. PLEASE staff lunchtimes better.....See Riverside Shrewsbury for example.

We booked a party of 20 for our daughters 21st birthday celebrations on 11 January. The food and service from Andi, Tarny and Hannah and the wider team was excellent. We pre ordered the food and everything came out exactly as ordered. Thanks from Andrea and Mark for a great time x

Himley house was so lovely, the food was amazing, and Sam our server was a delight and very friendly.

We have been to the Himley House Hotel several times for lunch and on each occasion we have received excellent service from all of the staff and in particular Tarnya. Nothing is too much trouble. Lovely surroundings and great ambience. We shall come many times more in the future.

Very disappointed with the Boxing Day Festive menu. Booked in advance for 5 people (3 elderley) Arrived early and managed to find a table in the corner by Christmas tree and bar to grab a drink before everyone arrived. I was informed the table was reserved from 13:30. Once my party arrived I went to get our table to be told, that was convenient you are sitting on it. Table was not dressed like all others in restaurant area and just seemed like an after thought. You would expect everything to be in place and ready with a reserved sign but this was not the case. The turkey dinner was not the best as the veg was hard. We have eaten at Himley many times and always had decent food hence booking for Boxing Day but will give it a miss now.

Amazing day today Andy and the team really went above and beyond couldn’t of wished for a better day and Xmas dinner thank you once again

Went here for the 1st time since refurbishment, premises are lovely. Food was lovely apart from one fish dish (cod) that was under-cooked but we weren't charged for it eventually.... Our waitress was lovely (Tanya) very helpful. However 3 out of 4 meals were spot on but then we appreciate it was near to xmas & the venue was very busy...

Lunch visit with family. The British cheese toasties were very tasty. Jill had the steak sandwich, also very nice. Amy our server was pleasant and helpful

We stayed here for two nights as part of a "memory lane " adventure and the hotel was absolutely one of the highlights We loved staying here .Excellent breakfast and good service

Beautiful venue, stunning decor, delicious food. Portions were generous and we didn't need the sides we ordered! Staff were very polite and courteous. The only criticism (forgive me) is that there is always a number of items unavailable, this time, stuffing and trifle. Thank you for a great afternoon!

Stayed at the hotel and impressed with the room. Came down for dinner at 7, was a bit disappointed that there was not an extensive cocktail menu. The wine menu was good and we had a very nice Cabernet Sauvignon with our meal. The lamb shank was thoroughly enjoyable, maybe could have done with a few more vegetables. The staff were polite and helpful without being overwhelming. We very much enjoyed our visit and have decided we will be returning more regularly.

We visited for mother in laws birthday as a group of 11 people including children. Before arriving and looking at menu I thought initially prices were a little on the high side but have visited the venue for the first time, tasting the food, the ambience of the venue I actually feel the food is great value.

Lovely place for a meal. Staff were friendly. Only drawback was that I found, what looked like the material of a metallic kitchen scourer in my dessert.

Been coming to the Himley house for nearly 20 years! Refurbish is amazing , Makes is the perfect country pub feeling. Only had Drinks, But I’ve eaten here many times and it’s always been good. Guy behind bar friendly, but not over bearing.

Nice layout to the Pub, quite expensive in the grand scheme, food is average pub grub. Staff do a great job, beer is OK.

An enjoyable evening at Himley House. We were celebrating a birthday and were looked after well by the staff. Served by Tarnya who made us feel very welcome and went the extra mile - thanks for the really good service and making our evening special. Lovely food!

Great food, busy but staff doing a good job

Visited on 27th Nov for a family celebration, first visit since it's refurbishment. We were attended to by Tasha and Stacey, service couldn't be faulted, efficient and friendly, and matched by equally enjoyable food. Thank you.

Very poor, I went as part of a large group and although I had fish and chips which were fine some of the others were not so lucky. The steaks people had were rubbery and one was completely inedible, the chips had barely been cooked, one of the vegetarian options was mushroom and ale pie which when opened was not cooked inside. We complained about these meals and they were knocked off the bill to be fair but we will not be going back!

Tarnya was great and looked after us throughout the whole evening!

I've been here a few times before and recently I've noticed the food has improved a lot. The pub is very comfortable and lovely inside. Service is always great. Thank you Tarnya for your attentiveness.

We visited for lunch. We both had the pork belly, which was excellent and apple tart and bakewell tart to finish and these were also excellent. We were served by Tarnya, who couldn't have been more helpful. Atmosphere was excellent and the Christmas decorations were beautiful. We will be back.

Tarnya helped us at our table and really was amazing! She was so helpful, clearly very conscientious and keen to ensure we had the best time possible. The atmosphere was great, good very good, but the friendly attitude of the staff made the evening particularly special.

Lovely afternoon visit to Himley House, I had the chicken burger and my brother had the smothered chicken followed by the sticky toffee pudding. Both meals were tasty and warm, I had an offer sent through chef and brewer emails so one meal was free bringing the total bill to £33 with a drink each. Special mention to Tanyah our server who was really lovely and polite explaining various offers to us. The lady on the bar was just as lovely who served us our tea and coffee as we wanted to stay to enjoy the lovely cosy open fire in the bar area.

Very nice place to visit. We go for lunch a couple of times a month

5 of us had dinner here and Stacey served us and was polite and personal, always seemed to have a smile on her face. 3 had Mushroom and Ale Pie, one had Smothered Chicken and the last chose the 3 course Xmas dinner, vegan version. All plates were tasty and plentiful. For dessert 3 had Apple pie and one had Mini Pud and drink and again it was tasty. No complaints about cold or warm food, it was all hot. When in the area would definitely go again.

Nice place ,rooms nice,atmosphere good locals friendly,only downside watch your bills got charged 33.58 for scampi and chips which was 17 for two been in touch 3 times and still had no reply from them they charged us for 2 cod and chips ,still waiting on a reply so not good really,only got to put money back in account but just getting no where

Having been a few times since the refurbishment we were surprised by how awful our experience was this evening. The food we all had was awful. The toad in hole special had cold mash and Yorkshire pudding base, the steak pie had only two small pieces of meat in a huge pastry case and as for the gravy jugs you could turn them all upside down without the gravy pouring it was so congealed. Final straw was being stuck on the car park having been given the wrong code by Rachel the manager who seemed to find it funny when I had to go back onto the pub to get the correct code. Worst thing the food. Will not be going again!

Place was like a cattle market no atmosphere could not hear background music. 20min wait at bar with only 1 person serving and I think she was the manageress who had no customer service skills

Really lovely place to go for a meal, lovely setting in Himley. The bar area has plenty of room, very much a large country house feel, very tastefully decorated. The dinning room as per the picture offers another relaxing, large room, lovely decor and a warm atmosphere. Service was great, the food was really nicely presented, full of flavour and portion size just right. The prices very fair, and the bar served good ale as well as having zero alcohol, especially good for drivers. It's a great place to go for a meal, have a nice chat. Thoroughly recommend, will certainly be revisiting.

Great Visit. Hot food was hot. Although busy service was good. A friend & i meet up every 4-6 weeks there & stacey is very often our server. She is very friendly polite & efficient & presents herself well.

Dreadful meal tonight. Broccoli was yellow, came with sea bass and potatoes, all cold. Sent it back, came back exactly the same. How on earth can chefs send meals out like that

Had a very enjoyable meal yesterday at the Himley House, food was excellent and wine good and affordable . Our waitress Stacey went out of her way to look after us I can't thank her enough .

I ordered a veg burger which was supposed to have a tomato and onion rings , it arrived without both ,the chips were like they were the last in the bag, hard and dry . When I asked about my missing items the waitress got me two slices of tomato and some dried onions, eventually I got some proper onion rings. My husband ordered smothered chicken, supposed to have cheese and bacon on top but came without both. We done here a lot and since it has been refurbished have not had a problem, it was always hit and miss before. My son and his partner dined the day before and had a similar problem, I think you need to train your chef . I feel so disappointed, I will not be going back until it has improved.

Very disappointing. I don’t know what’s happening but the last two visits were not what we expected at all. First time round we received raw chicken and, as much as we understand mistakes happen and chefs are only people rushed off their feet most of the time, we came back and got very disappointed again. We booked a Sunday lunch for my birthday and received what I’d call tasteless food. Chips weren’t cooked, they were soggy and cold, vegetables were tasteless. It’s a shame because the interior is amazing, it has a lovely feel and the drinks are nice. The food definitely isn’t worth the price though and considering the place was empty, we waited and hour to get our food. I’m not sure I want to visit In the nearest future.

Monday night and the place was v busy. Decor in the restaurant looks great since the refurb. Had pork belly (with fries due to dairy allergy) - really tasty and nicely cooked. Vegan bakewell tart for pudding - delicious. Would definitely come again and would happily order the same thing. Libby served us and she was really helpful and friendly.

Visited the Himley House for the first time since it had its refurbishment. Really love what has been done with the place, particularly the outside areas. Food, Service and Atmosphere were excellent. Can't wait to visit again very soon would absolutely recommend a visit if you have not been recently. Tim

Waited 1/2hr before someone took our order, meal my friend ordered was sold out we told upto 30mins wait for mains. Friend ordered steak medium-well but was very well done, I ordered cod and chips looked like it was thrown on plate not well presented and was dry. When bill came was charged for drink we never ordered!

It was a lovely evening and meal at Himley on Friday night. The place was buzzing but the waitress Tarnya was really helpful and attentative. I will definitely visit again.

We recently visited for a family meal We all really enjoyed our food. The service from Dannii in particular was fantastic. Despite it being very busy, she was attentive, warm and friendly.

First time eating here after the refurb. Great place, really nicely done out, food was really nice and alot of variety on the menu. Served by Libby who was really friendly, made recommendations on the menu and very helpful.

First visit in number of years, the refurb is nicely done, the decor is very nice and the place gives off a pleasant country pub vibe. The food is fairly good, a bit pricey if you’re not benefitting from one of the offers that they send out from time to time and the pricing is a bit up and down, on one hand you’ve got a cumberland sausage & mash dish at nearly £15 which, in itself, isn’t cheap, it barely covers half the plate as the jug of gravy it’s supplied with is conveniently covering the other half ! On the other hand, you’ve got a signature burger dish which by comparison, is almost double the size for approx £3 more. Staff wise, I can only give one star, on the day we came for food, we saw at least 8 different staff doing different jobs, all of whom should have a common goal in greeting and/or making people feel welcome, we stood at the bar for a few minutes, observed with a dour face by at least 4 of those staff before being served without so much as a welcome greeting, just a basic ‘what can I get you ?’ Our food turned up in good time and the waitress asked if we needed anything else, we asked for condiments and cutlery and that was the last interaction we had, there was no follow up to check if the food was ok and as I write this, we’ve been finished eating for nearly 30 minutes in a very quiet bar area (the main restaurant is also less than half full) and no attempt to has been made to offer us a dessert menu or even a drink refill, even though the plates have long since been cleared away. On the whole, I’d be hard pushed to return as I just didn’t get a warm feeling about the place or the staff, there’s an unfortunate and distinct lack of personality from any of those that we interacted with and that’s just a basic fundamental requirement of good customer service as far as I’m concerned. A shame really as it has the key parts to make it a really great place, it brings to mind the phrase ‘a smile couldn’t hurt’

Lovely waitress, no chicken at all available tonight. Staff at the end of the night seemed stressed and had to wait 20mins for a cup of tea.
