Steak pie with carvery veg is the way forward!!!!!

Lovely Sunday carvery and a great price too

Use to take kids their when they was young was brilliant went today with daughter who is now grown up worst carvery have had in longtime their was still flour in Yorkshire meat was cheap mash tasted like it was instant

Went up for the Sunday carvery with quite a big group. There were a couple of issues with service, but this was due to being short staffed on a busy Sunday and the staff there did apologise. The food was fantastic however, and will definitely be back for another meal.

the food was very good especially the roasties.. was just a bit confusing on how the service worked. a waitress came to the table took our order n then we sat for 40 minutes not sure weather to wait for a green light to go up. but eventually decided to just go up. but the food more than made up for this.

Always have a lovely meal. Staff friendly and always try and seat you quickly. They have a huge choice of veg and three meats what more could you ask for? Never had a pudding always too full plus It's cheap all round winner.

The carvery is satisfactory. Beef was dry, Yorkshire puds were dense like a thick sponge. Vegetables had a strange sweet taste guessing frozen or tinned. I was very hungry on arrival so are it all anyway. Service was relatively slow and water served in a tatty old stained plastic jug. Much room for improvement for an 8 pound carvery where you wouldn't go back for more vegetables

Myself and my daughter ordered the vegetarian lasagne that came with chips and when it came out, it was microwaved. Mine was cold and dry so too was my daughters. I took mine back to the bar staff, it was taken back to the kitchen and microwaved for a second time. Very expensive chips at £7.50. Won't be going again, very disappointed 🙁

Great for children's snowtubing parties in the leisure centre and great beer and food in the main pub.

We love the Sportsman as dogs are welcome. Today was a real treat. Hadn't realised they do Carvery on Sunday. Have to say, it was the best Carvery I've had for a long time. All the meat was excellent & the vegetables delicious (loads of choice too). Great friendly pub. Will have to make Sunday's a regular thing. Thank you.👍🐕🍴

Excellent carvery and staff all friendly and helpful.

Food was satisfactory. Service was appalling. Was waiting 30 mins until we could get our carvery. Asked to see the desert menu was waiting 15 mins because the waitress decided to play with her mobile phone. Wasn't asked once if the food was to our standards. Left without purchasing a desert. You seriously need to have a shake up or ship out of your staff. We won't be calling again.

Terrible! Totally Run Down Served meat mince lasagne twice instead of veggie. Arguing it’s Quorn as if we don’t know the texture and taste of chewy mince. We buy quorn daily and it’s never been chewy clumps of meat in the quorn packet. Some people would be totally devastated, we just felt sick. 3 times we have been charged full price for the food on the Wednesday offers. The last time we was told 2 for £10 is just on the soup! Even though it’s clearly advertising still on the notice board and website. Had quite a few gone off beers. Although it seems slowly they’ve gone down to just one. The place is empty. We would love to be able to visit as we have for many years as it’s a local for us but the new manager has totally run the place down. It just gets worse. Very sad. I just hope the owner can sell the place soon as at the moment nobody can go in there!

It's certainly gone down in my estimation, the food was OK but drinks were awful, anything with fizz was flat.

Lost one star for too many chips (couldn't get to the pie) and poor Carlsberg, rectified by changing to Becks. Staff very polite and friendly. Food was really good and very good value

Why is this place not packed out. Perfect meal and helpful friendly staff. Really well priced too

Nice friendly public house with a nice play area for children

This has the potential to be a really great pub, its cask ales are great, the food is pleasant, however wise up!!! Gin needs Ice and lemon/lime, tonic needs to be chilled. Wake up from the seventies!!!! For god sake change the glasses.

This is based on the "Leisure" side which incorporates the kids play center, it is NOT about the Inn which i did not go to! The place looks to be run by teens, not much if any experienced management on site, leaving it somewhat chaotic. There were several children's parties there and they struggled to keep on to of them and keep the rest of the place clean/tidy
