Sports Café at the Sports Plaza in Forest Heath

Called in there late on the way back to our lodge, after being at the Sub-tropical Paradise, for a hot drink. Good service at the bar and we decided to drink them whilst watching a bit of the 2nd half of Liverpool v Bologna. We elected not to have the squirty cream topping.

Plenty of seating, plenty of screens, activities for the young ones including a soft play, an arcade as well as pool tables etc. Can't say I have eaten there but all good otherwise.

I do think the prices here are a bit of a joke. English Breakfast - £12.25, Greek salad - £14.50, cheese burger and chips - £17.70, Americano coffee - £3.75. The prices are just silly for what you actually get. Centre parks clearly out to make as much money as they can here.

Atmosphere was great. Service was quick even though it was packed with people and staff were very friendly. Food was presented well and tasted even better.

Perhaps the worse battered fish I have ever had. It had no seasoning and the batter was mushy. Tried to remove it and it gave the appearance of a layer of oily mash. A shame as previous experiences at other centreparcs were great.

Its the 'go to' bar and restaurant for most that visit any centre parcs, the hub of the activities for kids. Tables can be a little slow to get cleaned at busy times. Pricing, I dont think i need ro to say, but it is centre parcs, so expect to spend a fortune.

Great food but it was a bit expensive

£15 for 3 smallest bowls of fries I've ever seen plus drinks are total scam they have massive screen for football but no sound near screen so you can't hear it

I was sitting in there on a Monday morning, it was quite busy but there was a staff member called Lisa who was one of the most kindest staff members ever she was so polite and sweet. She made sure I have everything I needed and was very smiley which made my day.

Very friendly staff, food was lovely and reasonably priced too. I would recommend for lunch.

We ate at the sports cafe twice. For dinner the burger was incredibly average and overpriced. However the vegetarian loaded fries were excellent and decent value for money (in terms of centre parcs). For breakfast the food was again average, standard sausage sandwich and English breakfast. Below wetherspoons in terms of quality. Service was okay but not enough staff but it was Christmas so expected.

We came in here ar around 4 pm after swimming, and the place was packed. We managed to find a seat and the food was really good and came promptly. Lots of televisions around with the sports on, pool tables etc. Very loud for some. Great food, I had the ham sandwich which was very tasty.

Prices are high, quality is low. Menu lacks variety and depth. Atmosphere isn't bad

Good atmosphere and when my daughter knocked her full drink across the table and floor, the staff were great at cleaning up the mess and replacing her drink free of charge. Only negative is the cost.

Friendly staff who made sure we could watch the football we wanted to - Benfica

Busy hub at Centre Parcs - keeps kids entertained and excellent for sports viewing. Food is pretty good too

Very under staffed, food poor and service slow. Came here twice, once for hot drinks which where rubbish. The hot choc is “powdered” and a rip off at £3.75, tasted bland and was v watery. Second time for lunch, 45 min wait for food, when it came, just beige and not hot. That style seems to be the way at centre parcs. BUT it’s big, loads of seats, screens all over and a nice vibe.

Nice place, lots of sport on the various TVs, indoor soft play and arcade for the kids to play in. Only draw back is that it can seem a bit expensive, but you're at centre parcs so you expect it

Critically understaffed. Very slow service. Not worth the wait. Arriving here just after lunch, it was busy, and most tables were taken. We managed to snag a table but had to wait for one of the staff to finally be free enough to ask them to clear it. Many of the tables were slow to be cleared - the staff were clearly swamped. After waiting another 10 mins to even be given menus let alone order we gave up and ordered online via the QR code at the table. Only at the end of the ordering process did it show that the earliest time we'd get the food was 50 mins later. Hungry but committed at this late stage we pressed order and hoped it would be quicker than the estimate. The queue at the bar was about 10 people long with only one bartender working her best but clearly overwhelmed. Waiting till our estimated time for our meal had passed we asked if they had an update they could give, and they told us that our order was still 5 behind, and were given complementary crisps as way of an apology. They said the online orders only ever say a max of 50 mins wait even when it's really much longer. 15 mins later (65 mins since ordering) our food finally arrived. We had figured it would be fresh and cooked to order, given the delay... but we were disappointed to get stale fries and garlic bread, and items that were tossed in sauce (the cauliflower and katsu) having sat long enough to be truly soggy and no longer crispy. Clearly the kitchen staff were as overwhelmed as the front of house staff were. From our table we watched as nearby tables sat uncleared or cleaned for 10 mins or more. I want to compliment the staff on doing their best despite a busy service, but they really needed much more support in order to offer decent service and food. I wouldn't return or recommend.

Nice venue, convenient location to many other activities. Decent priced and the food was great. Shame the service was very slow at times.

Whilst staying at Elveden we went into the Sports Cafe primary to watch the football of which my team was playing that night and we won so it can't be bad. Had drinks and something to eat while we were there which was satisfactory, also a special member of staff who switched the TV channel so we could watch our team. Thank you very much for a great night.

Nice selection of small bowls which are great for sharing with friends or family, and a range of drinks. Quite loud during the day. Has some pool tables, an arcade and a soft play area with lots of massive TV screens, outdoor play area and sports zone

(usually) A busy but not cramped cafe. A menu with something for everyone, with simple, popular dishes. There's also a good vegan and gluten free menu, as well as a dedicated children's menu. A small soft play area of on site and the outdoor park is just outside. Of course being a sports bar, there are plenty of TVs showing a variety of channels.

Burger was fine, some god awful cold slaw was served though which tasted like death. Service was fine, and sports on the TVs was to be expected. But overall just felt like a wetherspoons, with inflated costs.

Great food and the biggest screen I've seen showing sport all day. Loads of tables, outdoor eating area over looking the play area, indoor soft play and ar arcades.

Drinks far to expensive, £8 plus for an alcoholic drink is steep in my opinion.

Overpriced coffee and apparently they cannot do a dairy free mocha. No idea why. Far too loud and the venue smelled of unappetising food.

Very average. Overpriced drinks and below average food, most of it was out of stock.

Blue slushy was good. Very accommodating for England matches. The rest of the time they have Sky Sports News playing on an enormous jumbotron screen. Nice atmosphere and service, setting me up nicely for a weekend of activities and smiles while we wait for our cabin to be prepared. However Staropramen is £6.75 a pint so make of that what you will. 8/10.

The app for service works well. Not too long of a wait. Overpriced though but food quality is good.

Large sports bar with an amazing number of screens of all sizes. I don't think there was a table in the place without a good view of at least one screen. Outdoor seating gives direct access to the playground, useful for keeping an eye on primary aged children in the playground.

Perfectly acceptable. As with all centreparcs staff, very friendly.

Love the food here and the fact you don't need to book is great

Having eaten here many times over the years I can genuinely say that the food served at the moment is the best for portion size and quality. The QR ordering is efficient and the staff are friendly and welcoming.

Waiter who sat us was spot on, however the waiter that served the food managed till spill a side of coleslaw over my 6 year old daughter and all her food, cleared half of it up the buggered off leaving us to clear the rest of it up.

Part of centre parcs which is brilliant . Especially winter wonderland around Christmas.

I must admit that at the time I was here most of my attention was spent on keeping my granddaughters entertained and out of mischief. But, what I was totally impressed with was the staff, their attitude and the service they gave.

Food is quite nice always sports games on aswell

We were told there would be quite a long wait (due to staff shortage) so we were quick to order on the app. But to our surprise the wait was not adverse. The food was good but not exceptional, as I've found from various visits over the years. Our usual goto lunch establishment wasn't serving lunch (staff shortage) so this was a backup. Service was prompt and polite and staff were pleasant and curtious at all times.

It's was ok but the woburn one is much better. Better service, food and atmosphere.

Great service and food at reasonable prices

Place was very busy, as half term started. We didn't pre book so we had to wait for a table, which is fully understandable. But even then we got seated relatively quickly. When the wait was long we were always informed how long it would be, and also how long the food would take. And on both occasions the times were accurate. Well done to the team at the front of door. Food was also good, both vegetarian and meat. Staff are very helpful. Even when they made a mistake with a dish, we were quickly given the correct dish and also a refund on it as compensation. Very smooth. Top marks, everyone was working hard and still smiling.

Food has really improved over the years. Absolutely yummy! Slow food when at capacity but staff update you on times when you're being seated.

Food took ages and we had to chase but it was OK. Overpriced like all of centerparcs unfortunately, you've a captive audience, why so expensive?

Very expensive as all places are on a centre parcs site. £6.50 a pint.

Very friendly staff, quick service, nice kids play area, no booking needed, lots of family tables, good choice of food. Prices are high but what is cheap in Center Parcs? Tasty chicken burger, nuggets and chips, however the garlic bread was terrible - why would you add vinegar on top? The app is weird, you can add what's unavailable, dishes disappear from the basket or it doesn't allow you to add something.

Food was good. Friendly staff only issue was wasps .

Had a couple of lunches here with some family and was very happy with the friendly and quick service. The food was reasonably priced, well cooked and tasted very nice. Plenty of space for little ones in high chairs and buggies. Everything nice and clean and the sports bar theme is good if you want to watch a bit of live football, rugby, tennis, cricket, F1 etc on some very large screens too.

Came for Magda, it was her day off. She deserved it to be fair. Staff were lovely, had a great night, but wasn't the same without Magda. #Magdaiscool

Fairly expensive but good places to watch all sports.

Staff were all so friendly. Food and drinks reasonably priced for a holiday resort.

Food was inedible and sent back. We looked around at other tables and I hadn’t found a single table that had eaten more than a third of their plate. Do not visit here if you are looking to eat. Staff extremely rude too.

Great place for family celebrations

So we stayed in centre parcs, was having a blinder but unfortunately we entered the sports bar and was encountered by someone called Magna who refused to give us drinks which we actually paid for - I actually had to collect my own drinks? Mad one naaa, heads going! Kind regards Lee Booker

Would give 0 stars if possible. Worst customer service I’ve ever received from Magda! Waited 50 minutes for a drink and then received the wrong order and told they wouldn’t rectify it as the table next to us had taken our drinks. Magda was then extremely rude and told us to all leave! Would not recommend at all.

Had the worst experience in this bar. Had to order on the mobile app which caused carnage as the staff took up to an hour to bring them over and they forgot drinks. As an order of drinks were forgotten, we had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Magda who was the rudest waitress I’ve ever had the privilege of dealing with. She refused to understand the situation after giving our drinks to the wrong table. Overall I would say Magda ruined what was a fantastic experience at Center Parcs.

great atmosphere if a bit loud due to the other families, food was really great - had a nice burger and a very generous sides of sweet potato fries. Staff are super helpful and really lovely

Great staff, great service, food is well priced and tasted lovely. The whole diner was spotless and top marks on the cleanliness of the toilet's.

Quick service and reasonable prices

Very busy on change-over days as one of the few venues that you don't have to pre-book. Food quality and service still good though.

After eventually getting on to the app to order found a number of lagers unavailable. Food menu was very limited but food arrived quickly and was ok. Very few people wearing face masks (customers and staff). It's a bit like a very expensive spoons with less choice

We dined in, its very longwinded to order the first time and you need a smart phone, i could not really see the need for this as the waiters served the food anyway .

With covid restrictions and need for pre booking elsewhere, just glad to get somewhere to eat

Always the first port of call while waiting for lodges on first day. No booking system now and order at table on app which works well. In 10 years of comming to Elveden centerparcs sports cafe I’ve never had to wait longer than 10 minutes for a full family meal. Superb

Really disappointing, used to be great but since it's changed has all gone downhill. Staff were totally inadequate, first time we came in we sat at the only large enough table for our group which hadn't been cleaned yet. A waitress finally came to clear it but then never returned to take our order, at this point we didn't have time to eat before our activity so we left. After our activity we returned, again no waitress came to take our order but there were plenty standing around talking in a fairly empty restaurant. We had to ask to be served, eventually the food turned up, with drinks orders wrong. The food itself was overpriced and disappointing at best. The waitress 'forgot' that the kids meal came with a dessert and a drink so we paid £5.99 for a handful of chips, 4 nuggets and a tiny cup of beans. At this point we couldn't even be bothered to ask for the dessert and decided to leave. However once again we had to ask to be served and have our table cleared and the bill sent. The waitress gave a poor excuse of cleaning other, empty tables, again the restaurant was fairly empty. All in all the lunch took over an hour and a half and most of that was was waiting for service, every other part of this holiday has been great but we will certainly not be returning to the sports café!

All of the restaurants at CenterParcs are over priced and serve just ok food. You kind of accept it's not going to be the best food you've ever eaten, unfortunately though the Sports Bar food was definitely the worst I've had at Elveden. My fish was incredibly oily, I tried draining most of it off and dabbing it with a napkin but it didn't really help, the batter was soggy and I had to leave it. The chips were pretty poor too, akin to cheap frozen supermarket ones. If you're just in there to watch sport then I'm sure it's just fine, there are screens next to almost every table. Like everywhere at CenterParcs the drinks are overly expensive too, but par for the course with most places these days. Ordering via the app worked great though.

Tasty food, attentive staff what more would you want

It's ok. It sells food and drink. Not exactly a great restaurant but it's ok

We came here tonight for dinner. Booked for 6.15pm and had to order over an app. There were a few problems with trying to process the order so payment was taken at our table a little while later. We waited until nearer 7.30pm but no food had arrived. When we asked it turned out that the order hadn’t processed. Unfortunately, we had an 18 month old with us so decided to not stay and have our meal which was going to be on the way. The manager and all of the staff that we had come into contact with previously came over apologetically and couldn’t have done any more for us. A refund was offered which we decided to take and head back to our lodge. But there was some last minute scrambling. Even though we had had a refund, they had got our food order done before we walked out the door and gave our entire meal to us as a takeaway. We were really chuffed. We headed back to the lodge and tucked into two knockout burgers and our son still got to have his tea. The meal was delicious and worth the wait. If we go out to eat, we always judge it on the food and the service. The food was the best meal we’d had all week and the staff really did go above and beyond for us. I know that it must be tough getting used to new ways (for government restrictions) or taking orders and mistakes could happen. But their reaction to that mistake meant that we were just as happy as if we’d eaten in. The staff in this place are a real credit to the restaurant. The food was so good, we booked for breakfast before we leave tomorrow.
