Very good food. We had schnitzel with mushroom sauce. Perfect. Very good service. Nice big portions for good price.🤩😋 Clean and tidy. Few pictures would add a bit of a character and echo. Just one thing in regards the ventilation. The smell from kitchen gets into main-dining room and it affects the atmosphere & experience.

Me and my partner came on Friday for the fish and chip Friday. I ordered fish and chips and my partner got sausage and chips and got to say the food was lovely. The only criticism I have is that the food came with salt on, as we don't like salt on our food. I think going forward it would maybe better to ask the customer when ordering if you want salt on your food and that's why I gave 4 stars. Lovely setting eating by the river.

Visited Jude’s Ferry for a Sunday carvery and can highly recommend. From walking through the door with our 3 dogs to leaving we were made so welcome. Bar staff very friendly found us a spacious table at the back of the bar area, dogs were made a fuss of with treats - their own water they provided in a bowl where we were sat. Carvery was their first week and was superb. The chefs so enthusiastic and proud of their food they had made, portion sizes very good and they were so generous, my beef looked like a cut of steak. Tender and tasty beef, I only like home cooked roast potato as nowhere gets it right - these were perfect. My partner vegetarian so was an option for him and he thoroughly enjoyed. Then came the dessert menu £5.95 a dessert however we were full, nice to see a vegan cheesecake on there so caters for everyone. Will definitely be returning, food staff atmosphere spot on. Customer service lacks in many places - not here !! opening doors the chefs from their workstation and barman from the bar when I had my hands full with food. Jude’s Ferry a few years ago terrible - new ownership and certainly turning it around you can see a lot of passion. Sunday carvery was walk in but can see them getting very busy so worth checking before visiting. Thankyou Jude’s Ferry will be back soon ☺️

Nice lively pub in a lovely village. They had a very good band on doing covers and then they had bingo. This was a Sunday evening. I missed the Sunday lunch but it was at a decent price. There was a food van there when I attended called ministry of meat. The beef brisket was nice but it was mega expensive. 3 slices of brisket and some smashed potatoes £17. I was hungry. Nobody else ate. The pub is on the river Cam and very beautiful.

We went on Sunday for a roast dinner.I would say 80% of the draught beers were out of stock which was very disappointing. They only serve roasts on a Sunday which is fine but by the time we arrived at 13.30 only had one choice available. There were no desserts available on this day either. We were really hoping things had improved since change of ownership but seems that old habits are hard to shift. This pub is in a prime location with absolute bundles of scope to be great so I hope it does improve. We won't be rushing back anytime soon unless things really are improved.

We used to bring large groups here for going always just for it, but now there’s no reason to come solely here for going aways anymore. The new team has done wonders. We finally made it out to try the new food and it's on an entirely different level from the previous menu. The burger came with chips, salad, coleslaw and onion rings in an extremely generous portion. All very freshly made to order! My son had the lasagna (which I taxed) and it was delicious. He finished the entire plate and that says alot as he is very particular with food. My wife had the chicken burger that was dressed up just like my burger and it was equally impressive. Change is hard to take in sometimes but this change was executed to perfection. I have been coming here for the past 3 years and what they have done has only improved the pub we love. Great stuff!

Not much to say really, 1st time we visited and it will certainly be the last, the whole place needs updating. Carvery wasn't great, and they ran out of some of the food. Flys were all over it. You can only order a carvery on a Sunday so couldn't change our mind. Food was tasteless. Outside tables are falling apart and need replacing along with the kids playarea, picnic benches and the rickety decking. This place has so much potential to make money as its a great location by the river. My advice is have a refurb and update things and you will be packed out everyday. Also vegan desserts need to be a choice on the menu. I wish you all the best.

Sadly not impressed with the food , chips were undercooked and very salty ( should be able to add ur own salt ) , not a great deal of veg options so I had cheese & onion baguette with chips , would have been nice to have had a side salad on the plate , it was very basic . My partner had chargrilled chicken , again no veg / salad on plate so it looked very bland . I would definitely go back for a drink as the location is beautiful but sadly the meal for me was a big let down .

First visit since last year, it seems to be under new management and they need to learn some basics . We ordered our meal at the bar, a starter of garlic mushrooms and mains of grilled chicken , we sat and enjoyed our drinks and waited, and waited ,eventually our starters arrived with our mains!!! I was a chef at the Swan in Horning and we did between 450 and 550 covers a day so I know what busy is but the dozen covers in the Ferry do not come close to busy. We would go there again but request starters proceed the mains allowing 10 mins as the gap. So visit and enjoy but don't expect too much, the food was good as were the drinks

The pub is very spacious and when we arrived it was empty. We decided to have the carvery as it was a Sunday. We were served at the bar and given a ticket for the carvery. I had to ask the bar staff of we were allowed to sit anywhere and they said yes so we sat near to the entrance of what appeared to be the dining room and near to the carvery station. We had to wait for a while as we had arrived so early that the carvery wasn't started yet, but that was fine. Just after we arrived another party of 4 arrived and they came to sit in the same area as us. Then another couple of people turned up and had balloons etc for a party. It soon became apparent that she had been expecting the whole dining area to herself and she was complaining that we were there to a young member of staff who seemed very anxious. I asked him if he would like us to move and he said yes if we didn't mind could we sit right at the back and around the corner. We complied with this. The other table party did not move and the two ladies started to set up their balloons on tables. Meanwhile we approached the carvery station. The meat selection was turkey, beef, gammon and pork. I chose turkey and my husband chose beef. There were carrots, beans, stuffing, sausage, peas, Yorkshire and gravy to choose from as sides. I had everything except beans. It appeared that the vegetables were tinned veg. So, we ate. The quality of the food was dreadful. The vegetables were not fresh, the Yorkshire's were from a pre-prepared packet, the roast potatoes were dry and not crispy and the gravy was thin and watery. Nothing had been seasoned at all and it all was just pretty rubbish. We left the pub as we had already paid in advance and both of us agreed that it was one of the poorest roast dinners we had ever had. Unfortunately, we will not be returning here. However the staff were all friendly.

When I voiced fact that they'd told us they had a table they found a table we could share, however on walking past the carvery to the table we turned around and walked out. The vegetables were swimming in water, the potatoes looked like frozen ones stuck in the oven. Won't be going back

Jude's ferry is mentioned in " Tale's of the fens " quite often.. there's been a pub there for many hundreds of years I am sure....barmaid was super... and a good pint. Look forward to taking our narrow boat up there so I can have a good thrash. I'm also going to put my canoe in the water and explore beyond the head of the navigation. A very strategic spot indeed.

I'm honestly so shocked at the amount of 5 star reviews and recommendations for this place. I booked a reservation for Sunday carvery only to be called back later in the day to be told no carvery due to "technical issues" which is fine, the normal menu would be available. I wanted to send my gran off from visiting with a nice meal before she left town, but this was anything but that. We were early, so as soon as we parked the car we got out to see the river and my daughter wanted use the playground. Nearly all outdoor tables were covered in garbage, dishes, and food from the night before, which should have been out first inkling to leave and find somewhere else to eat. Giving the benefit of the doubt we walked in to the pub to be seated for our reservation, though we didn't really need one as there was no one else there but staff. We waited awkwardly for about 10 minutes as the bartender chatted & made drinks for 2 girls that arrived at the same time as us. They obviously knew each other & were taking their sweet time catching up, which is fine but when you have customers waiting to be sat you should probably wait to do that? We chose to sit outside because inside was musty, smelly, and visibly dirty. Looking over the menu, everything seemed okay, so we decided on Halloumi fries to start, I wanted a chicken Caesar salad, my husband wanted pork ribs, gran wanted fish & chips, and we got my daughter sausage & chips (asked for peas instead of beans). I go to order and was told they were out of Halloumi fries, out of pork ribs (ordered beef short ribs instead), and they didn't have peas to substitute for the beans. All that aside, we still ordered the rest and asked for some steamed vegetables for my daughter instead of peas. There is no real waiting service, you just order at the bar you get a buzzer when your food is ready, which personally I find super tacky. Our buzzer goes off and my husband and I go to get the food, only to be disappointed immediately upon seeing our plates. Fish & chips were leaking grease and oil which I knew my gran wouldn't like, though she did end up eating it purely because this would be her last meal until she got home. My husbands ribs looked fine, but were tasteless and the mashed potatoes that came with were yellow, hard, and also tasted absolutely disgusting - almost sour? My daughters sausages & chips were the best looking thing we got but even then they were dry, chips were hard and oversalted, and the "steamed vegetables" were quite literally just a dish of microwaved frozen cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots. Everything was wet (because they were frozen), and the cauliflower was literally brown. Carrots looked pretty sad and were completely mushy. My "caesar salad" was a bowl of refrigerated lettuce, red onion, and tomato, with some grey chicken on top and the entire bowl was drizzled in salad cream. A chicken caesar salad is romaine lettuce, croutons, parmesan cheese, anchovies, and caesar salad dressing, with grilled chicken on top. I refused to take my salad to the table as I knew it would be disgusting, and the bartender girl started arguing with me about how it wasn't salad cream which was then later confirmed by the chef to indeed be salad cream. I sent back my plate and was asked if I wanted anything else on the menu, which I declined and just wanted my money back instead. I don't normally complain, but I was absolutely not about to pay 13 pounds for that "salad". After that, the vibe completely changed and my family was treated very differently. The bartender girl had a horrid attitude and sat outside the main entrance, smoking 5 feet from the door, staring at my family. It was extremely uncomfortable. However, there was a very kind, apologetic young man who was trying to remedy the situation and I did really appreciate that. I know it isn't his fault, but whoever manages this place should be ashamed of themselves. Will absolutely not go back or recommend to Jude's Ferry to anyone. Even the beauty of the river was overshadowed by the awful food, staff, and general uncleanliness.

Was like walking into a youth club. No atmosphere whatsoever, although lovely setting by the river. Drinks were flat and served by inexperienced staff who couldn't wait to get back chatting to their friends. Such a shame that this pub is running into the ground.

A memorable stay in a hotel with a unique history, once owned by the King of England. It’s come a long way since James I walked its halls—he wouldn’t have had the pleasure of the comfortable beds and room temperature control. Nor would he have been able to savor the delicious hotel menu or enjoy the fancy cocktails. He would certainly be proud that it’s now in the hands of Manager Ruth and her team, who make your stay exceptional with their warm welcomes and constant attention to detail. Overall, it's a 10 out of 10 from me for this wonderful hotel in a beautiful and fascinating part of the country.
