Great pub for a family gathering or to watch the sport on the many TV's that seem to be everywhere you look. We went on a Saturday afternoon to celebrate a birthday and soon realised that the pub gardens were huge with lots of people enjoying the outside with plenty of space to relax. The staff were very friendly and I didn't have to wait long even though it was busy with an England match on the telly. The food for the birthday party was prepared by the pub and it was top rate. No complaints at all. I hadn't visited the Spinney Hill Pub in years, despite living fairly close. I will certainly be back soon.

This pub is one of if not the best pub in Northampton to take your dogs with you to. The garden is huge and there is lots of parking in the car park. Which means on a game night or match night lots of your friends and company can join you. The food is ok and served in a timely manner. However this is to be expected from these kinds of establishments. It is on par with Weather Spoons or something equal. However this pub does make up for it with everything else being above standard and of excellence. What makes it really good as a doggy friendly pub is that they offer both water and dog treats in bowls for you if you wish.

Been to the Spinney a handful of times in recent history and the experience has always been very lively and loud. Overall, i havent minded that and enjoyed my times there as it is expected for the huge pub grounds and attention the spinney attracts. However, their way of handling security last night was an absolute joke. My friend had booked a table online as soon as he saw the rules that had been posted to ensure we could get in becuase i knew itd be busy. He arrived seperate with 2 other members of our party and secured our table, one so we could get something to eat before the game and two so we had decent seats. I had arrived around 40 minutes later as i hadn't finished work and I planned to get id'd and join my party but instead security simply refused my entry. I got a member of my party to try and come get me and they turned him away and threatened to kick him out before he could show booking confirmation. Overall, it was an appalling management last night and i was refused my food, drink and entertainment when we had done everything possible to ensure we got in. Extremely disgusting behaviour and I will not be returning, same goes for my party of friends and everyone I have told since.

Been going Spinny every euro game .. as the final happened they didn’t let anyone in gated up the entry said on Facebook they will only id people but didn’t let atleast 100 people in when there was 17 year olds I knew that was inside… traveled took my time to get there for the workers to push and shove girls lost out on alot of money but that’s on them

Really disappointed with the attitude of one of your security staff Told us we couldn't stand where we were even though we wearnt in yhe way of anyone Obnoxtious rude before we even had a chance Could have said hi guys can you move a bit over there instead of the attitude we might get thrown out for no reason if we didn't move Been in the spinney loads of times never had an issue In fact I never have an issue anywhere I go Really not happy and he needs some customer training Not sure I will come up there again Really not happy He has no right to speak to people like that terrible

Food was nice..however it could have been a bit hotter..the chips and scampi were luke warm.

Very nice in there since some reinvestment. Decent sized menu offering a range of good pub grub at reasonable prices. Plenty of seating inside and a lovely big beer garden to enjoy the summer evenings.

The Spinney Hill is one of my favourite pubs. I have been coming here for years and always get great service from Josh and his staff. The refurb is great Well done to you all.

Otherwise nice pub but our quiet hur was completely ruined by member of staff yelling in the bar and in the kitchen. Absolutely no self awareness, no sense of place or sense of decorum. It felt more like a playground than a pub.

We went here with family for a meal. There is plenty of parking each side of the pub. Inside it is very bright and tastefully decorated. The food was very good and even better was the price. We will definitely return.

I had food from the senior menu. My starter was very good, as was my dessert. However the hunters chicken was dry, not what I expected at all. It was a little disappointing but it will not stop me visiting again .

Awful. Soggy tasteless chips, overcooked peas and very small scampi. To top it off we were overcharged. Seriously go somewhere else.

i baught a bacon and cheese burger in the menu it did not say that in the burger there would be mayo lettuce onions and tomatoes and am very allergic to all of this and i'm glad I checked my burger because if i ate it i could've had an allergic reaction which would cause me to go to the hospital. im absolutely fuming 😡

Came into this pub this evening and waited 25 mins to get served and got ignored by bar staff, left without a drink and won’t ever return.

Was disappointed with the food. Went for a meal with family for my daughter’s birthday. Vegetarian dish was spicy and tasted like curry. Not what you want for a Sunday lunch option. Vegetables were either raw or a pile of mush no consistency with the standard. Staff didn’t seem like they knew what they were doing either. Not a good experience

Booked a table for 4 Adults at 12.30pm on Wednesday 24th April.We arrived just before and were shown to our table at 12.30 . We sat down and pretty much knew what we were going to order as we regularly go for lunch there and are familiar with the menu. We ordered more or less straight away. After sitting there chatting for a while we noticed people on adjacent tables were being served even though they ordered after us. I went to the bar to ask how long before our food would be only to be told by the lady who took our order that we’d had our food.I pointed to our empty table and said we hadn’t . A male member of staff said he’d find out what was going on. After about 5 minutes he came to our table and apologised for the delay and said there was a mix up with the ordering system. Needless to say we were not impressed as we had waited well over an hour for our order. The guy said we could order a round of drinks on the house but we had commitments elsewhere so we had to decline. We will not be going there again! James Lennon and guests.

A Very very impressive displaying of pub’ing we had a great meal & lush pint of Guinness….world class raspberry crumble… …the staff/service we salute you 🫡 also I must add ,the fact these guys have a pet menu prompted me to come out of google review retirement… our puppy took down two servings of chicken and mash 😀…. We will certainly be back for the awesome looking beer garden

Spacious comfortable pub with a varied menu

Food is reasonable, good atmosphere and the outdoor area is lovely regardless of time of year as its covered with outdoor heaters. There was a group of loud people starting chaos but security were there to resolve and no issues.

Good local pub. Lots if sports screens, so if you're not into sport the garden could be your best bet

Our NHS lunch group came here today, 24 members out for lunch. Keen prices, expensive drinks, slow service, they took orders but ran out of Lasagna, Fish, No new potatoes. Some of the food was over cooked. Not a great experience

Really nice pub,friendly staff and great service. Great atmosphere and busy so would recommend booking a table if you want to eat, the menu isn't massive but all the food looks really well done and our meals were excellent. Would highly recommend this pub and sure we will be visiting again, can't wait for the summer as have a fantastic garden here. 5*****

Since this place had a refresh it is without a doubt a convenient, friendly and welcoming local. With good food and great prices. Greene King suppliers seem to have up'ed their game as their recent pies have been excellent - a true pub meal to be proud of. The staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. You've just got to be aware these days that it can get quite busy at peak times. Worst case the outside terrace is now covered and even has a TV for that outdoor sporting event experience! Go for the food, drink and company.

Not what I expected....not been for some years and thought I try it ....drinks not as cheap as the venue suggests and the food we had was 2 bowls of cheesy chips ....they sent one out and said sorry the chef thought it was a staff meal ...not worth the money it cost ...very disappointed

We had a family gathering here for a 40th birthday (booked in advance) for 16 people (children included). Food and drink was amazing. We all had our dinners come out together (but had preordered the food a week beforehand, (no deposit required per head). The service was outstanding, thank you so much for your hard work guys even when you were also busy with regulars. Happy new year 2024, see you in the New year!

The pub atmosphere was fantastic during open mic where my friends performed. Will visit Spinney Hill again.

We as a family had Christmas lunch there yesterday, the food was very good (although the steaks were a little tough) everything else was very good. Would definitely do that again.

We went with friends for a set 3 course meal it was awful undercooked the best thing was the cheeseboard but the cheese was very cold so hard, not room temperature. The staff were very good though.

Overall a nice pub but can get really busy and feels cramped.not enough staff at busy times.

The pub has been refurbished and done well. The food was good (we had burgers), the staff friendly, and the atmosphere was lively.

Crawling with drug dealers, with drugs being sold onsite, we saw it with our eyes plus saw a guy sniffing the old Colombian powder up his nose in the toilets, keep it classy.

Always the best choice for football fans!!

Unlike our bad experience at the Britannia yesterday, it was so warm and welcoming! The service what the staff provided, was extremely excellent! Nice place to drink, good seating/atmosfear. The worst burger ive ever eaten, burnt and it was 12 quid.

Lively pub which has calmed down a bit since it's refit which briefly made it too busy for my taste. A good range of beers and some spirits. Unfussy food available. Fantastic garden with well spaced tables so you can enjoy food or a drink even if someone nearby is smoking. There is a good vibe here and a good mix of people.

Been to other Greene King pubs around Northamptonshire, none of which come anywhere near close to Spinney Hill.

Excellent pub and great atmosphere! We are from out of town but was made to feel extremely welcome and had a great day. The food was delicious, would definitely recommend. Couldn't fault it.

Been quite a few times now and quite frankly the food is very average, wouldn’t recommend the Ale pie as it always comes with a rock solid crust, you need a hammer & chisel to open it. Beers are good but on the pricey side, probably paying towards the redecoration.

This pub was open again not long time ago. It became much better now. We were there just once but will visit again

Management is all over the place and rude

Lovely pub, quite unexpected. Good atmosphere and range of drinks. Small playground and outdoor space for younger kids. Good range of beers and spirits. Only been in the evening and has a good mix of people so feels open and welcoming. It was refurbished in early 2023 so nice interior. We only had starters from the menu which took almost an hour at busy times but enjoyed it overall.

Poorly trained staff who haven't a clue what the food they're serving actually is. Several people on our table didn't eat meat, and as such ordered meals that were Vegetarian & Vegan. When our food was brought to the table, I checked to make sure my meal was Vegan and waitress confirmed, so I started eating. After a short delay the rest of our food was bought to the table, were it became apparent that I hadn't been given the correct meal, and had actually been eating meat! My wife then queried if her meal was the Vegetarian chilli she ordered, and was met with a blank stare! She had to request that the staff member went back to the kitchen to check!! It was an utterly shambolic meal out, and devastating to have eaten meat after years of dedication avoiding it. If you have any kind of dietary requirements, I'd avoid this place like the plague! It's a shame I can't give it zero stars!

Visited for the football Wednesday...haven't been in for a few years previously ..the staff atmosphere and service all excellent definitely be going back great night

We book for 5pm turned up at 4pm and told them we had a table booked for 5pm. Me and my family had a drink outside while our little girl had a play. Went back in at 5pm to be seated got to our table looked at the menu. When I got to the bar thy told us it's going to be 1-2 hours for food. Why not tell us when we got there???? We left and went McDonald's as our little girl was hungry.

Very busy pub, very lively atmosphere, bank holiday Sunday and last game of the season with the sun shining. Footie screens all around the place and multiple games on. A massive pub garden, a great pub in Northampton.

I visited this pub for a meal with 2 friends yesterday evening. The table was booked for 7pm. My 1st impressions when we arrived was not great as it was extremely noisy made worse by the fact there were huge numbers of young lads watching football being shown around the place on numerous TV screens. As the weather was good the extensive pub gardens were also heaving. It felt like the atmoshpere was very frantic. We were informed on arrival that the kitchens were closing early so we needed to order asap which only added to the poor 1st impressions. In fact we saw someone else leave because of this problem. On a positive note the food was reasonably priced & good and the service was friendly which is why I have rated my experience at 3 stars. I wouldn't recommend going there on a Sat eve if you are looking for a quiet place to eat. It's definitely a venu suited to young persons or young families who just want to drink or catchup on the sport being broadcast over a pint. Definitely NOT the best choice of venu if you want a bit more of a chilled vibe when dining out.
