Great pub, really reasonable prices

Our NHS lunch group came here today, 24 members out for lunch. Keen prices, expensive drinks, slow service, they took orders but ran out of Lasagna, Fish, No new potatoes. Some of the food was over cooked. Not a great experience

Really nice pub,friendly staff and great service. Great atmosphere and busy so would recommend booking a table if you want to eat, the menu isn't massive but all the food looks really well done and our meals were excellent. Would highly recommend this pub and sure we will be visiting again, can't wait for the summer as have a fantastic garden here. 5*****

Nice place for a basic lunch and a drink recommend the catsu curry, the scampi and the guiness

Since this place had a refresh it is without a doubt a convenient, friendly and welcoming local. With good food and great prices. Greene King suppliers seem to have up'ed their game as their recent pies have been excellent - a true pub meal to be proud of. The staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. You've just got to be aware these days that it can get quite busy at peak times. Worst case the outside terrace is now covered and even has a TV for that outdoor sporting event experience! Go for the food, drink and company.

Not what I expected....not been for some years and thought I try it ....drinks not as cheap as the venue suggests and the food we had was 2 bowls of cheesy chips ....they sent one out and said sorry the chef thought it was a staff meal ...not worth the money it cost ...very disappointed

We had a family gathering here for a 40th birthday (booked in advance) for 16 people (children included). Food and drink was amazing. We all had our dinners come out together (but had preordered the food a week beforehand, (no deposit required per head). The service was outstanding, thank you so much for your hard work guys even when you were also busy with regulars. Happy new year 2024, see you in the New year!

The pub atmosphere was fantastic during open mic where my friends performed. Will visit Spinney Hill again.

We as a family had Christmas lunch there yesterday, the food was very good (although the steaks were a little tough) everything else was very good. Would definitely do that again.

We went with friends for a set 3 course meal it was awful undercooked the best thing was the cheeseboard but the cheese was very cold so hard, not room temperature. The staff were very good though.

Nice pub with good outside space and plenty of parking. The atmosphere inside is also lovely and the food was great too.

Met a friend for a drink, her granddaughters had children's meal. We didn't eat so can't comment on food. Service & staff very friendly. We will go again & have food.

Overall a nice pub but can get really busy and feels cramped.not enough staff at busy times.

Only popped in for a pint to see a couple of mates, service was very slow and I think someone said tills gone down.

The pub has been refurbished and done well. The food was good (we had burgers), the staff friendly, and the atmosphere was lively.

Crawling with drug dealers, with drugs being sold onsite, we saw it with our eyes plus saw a guy sniffing the old Colombian powder up his nose in the toilets, keep it classy.

Always the best choice for football fans!!

Unlike our bad experience at the Britannia yesterday, it was so warm and welcoming! The service what the staff provided, was extremely excellent! The food which was lovely, tasty and piping hot was served within quarter of an hour! What a wonderful experience after yesterday's disappointment! Thank you so much, Mrs. Renate England

After posting a review the assistant manager took his time to call and discuss with me about what I'd posted. Great to see customer service Is back .

Nice place to drink, good seating/atmosfear. The worst burger ive ever eaten, burnt and it was 12 quid.

Lively pub which has calmed down a bit since it's refit which briefly made it too busy for my taste. A good range of beers and some spirits. Unfussy food available. Fantastic garden with well spaced tables so you can enjoy food or a drink even if someone nearby is smoking. There is a good vibe here and a good mix of people.

Really friendly, happy staff. Food was fantastic, served quickly and with a smile. Great atmosphere in the pub, lovely gardens and play area for the kids. Can't believe we haven't been here before as it's almost on our doorstep and we've lived here for years. Been to other Greene King pubs around Northamptonshire, none of which come anywhere near close to Spinney Hill.

Excellent pub and great atmosphere! We are from out of town but was made to feel extremely welcome and had a great day. The food was delicious, would definitely recommend. Couldn't fault it.

Been quite a few times now and quite frankly the food is very average, wouldn’t recommend the Ale pie as it always comes with a rock solid crust, you need a hammer & chisel to open it. Beers are good but on the pricey side, probably paying towards the redecoration.

This pub was open again not long time ago. It became much better now. We were there just once but will visit again

Management is all over the place and rude

Lovely pub, quite unexpected. Good atmosphere and range of drinks. Small playground and outdoor space for younger kids. Good range of beers and spirits. Only been in the evening and has a good mix of people so feels open and welcoming. It was refurbished in early 2023 so nice interior. We only had starters from the menu which took almost an hour at busy times but enjoyed it overall.

Poorly trained staff who haven't a clue what the food they're serving actually is. Several people on our table didn't eat meat, and as such ordered meals that were Vegetarian & Vegan. When our food was brought to the table, I checked to make sure my meal was Vegan and waitress confirmed, so I started eating. After a short delay the rest of our food was bought to the table, were it became apparent that I hadn't been given the correct meal, and had actually been eating meat! My wife then queried if her meal was the Vegetarian chilli she ordered, and was met with a blank stare! She had to request that the staff member went back to the kitchen to check!! It was an utterly shambolic meal out, and devastating to have eaten meat after years of dedication avoiding it. If you have any kind of dietary requirements, I'd avoid this place like the plague! It's a shame I can't give it zero stars!

Lovely place for a pint and pub grub

Visited for the football Wednesday...haven't been in for a few years previously ..the staff atmosphere and service all excellent definitely be going back great night

We book for 5pm turned up at 4pm and told them we had a table booked for 5pm. Me and my family had a drink outside while our little girl had a play. Went back in at 5pm to be seated got to our table looked at the menu. When I got to the bar thy told us it's going to be 1-2 hours for food. Why not tell us when we got there???? We left and went McDonald's as our little girl was hungry.

Very busy pub, very lively atmosphere, bank holiday Sunday and last game of the season with the sun shining. Footie screens all around the place and multiple games on. A massive pub garden, a great pub in Northampton.

I visited this pub for a meal with 2 friends yesterday evening. The table was booked for 7pm. My 1st impressions when we arrived was not great as it was extremely noisy made worse by the fact there were huge numbers of young lads watching football being shown around the place on numerous TV screens. As the weather was good the extensive pub gardens were also heaving. It felt like the atmoshpere was very frantic. We were informed on arrival that the kitchens were closing early so we needed to order asap which only added to the poor 1st impressions. In fact we saw someone else leave because of this problem. On a positive note the food was reasonably priced & good and the service was friendly which is why I have rated my experience at 3 stars. I wouldn't recommend going there on a Sat eve if you are looking for a quiet place to eat. It's definitely a venu suited to young persons or young families who just want to drink or catchup on the sport being broadcast over a pint. Definitely NOT the best choice of venu if you want a bit more of a chilled vibe when dining out.

Lovely pub, grub, prices are fair

Pub ok beer ok.....but if you spend a lot if money on a pub at least you could repair the toilet sear in the gents which i think was broke b4. It's the little things that count

Great decor and lovely atmosphere. Food was good, but the lack of staff was very evident. Poor girl on her own behind the bar, which really wasn't fair on either her or the customers leaving a long wait for drinks and food.

Our first visit for a meal since the refurbishment. Arrived at 5.15pm. Was already quite busy, but the welcome and initial service was excellent. Easy to order and the pies, in particular, were flavoursome and wholesome. Really enjoyable time. Thank you Spinney Hill.

No food available, barman couldn't be bothered to inform what wasn't available, just kept saying, can't have that, so after 2 attempts at ordering we left.

Went to celebrate the passing of Tony who used it regularly they did him proud well done

The Spinney is OK. Kind of like a local pub that serves food, but not really either. Toilets are terrible and there is often a long wait to be served and no proper glasses for your drink. I.E Lagers put in Smooth or Guinness glasses which just doesn't taste correctly. Summer is lovely in the garden but again it becomes very busy which always seems to increase the waiting time to be served.

Josh and Emma hosted my 50th birthday party last week and really helped to ensure that my guests were served fresh, cold drinks on arrival, in a very relaxed, warm, twinkly environment and absolutely delicious food from their buffet menu. They allowed me to bring my own entertainer to the venue and, quite simply, said ‘yes’ to all of my requests. Being local, we use The Spinney Hill often and find it to be a good, friendly space to meet up with friends, with or without the children, any time of the year. Thank you to all the staff who do a great job whenever we visit.

Absolutely gorgeous food, shame half the pub was shut for a 50th party and we had to wait to get a seats for 5 adults eating, after a hard day's work, but was worth it, just wondered why they brought there own food, if down again will call in, Stuart from lytham st annes

Great little pub! Our server was very polite and quick to help out with drink choices when we were unsure. Food was lovely too. Couldn’t recommend this place enough for a nice evening out!

Been here a few times, personal favourite place to visit. Foods always good service is friendly, fast and efficient. Definitely somewhere I recommend to all my friends and family!

A meeting with mate's from 1970s as we do every 3/4 months for a chat and beer's.

Good food, good prices, good atmosphere and really busy, a great sign, there were a few functions on while we were there it seemed and a couple of more staff would have been handy, we felt quite sorry for the young lady and young lad behind the bar and serving meals, if I was allowed I would have mucked in to help.

Went over to Northampton to visit family and met up in this very nice pub restaurant. The outside of the building could use a bit of tlc but inside was fine. The lunch time meals were all given the thumbs up by everyone ant the desserts were good. Will definitely meet up with family there again. Felt sorry for the hard working staff who were dashing about everywhere trying to keep everybody served covering up for an obvious staff shortage.

Excellent value for money. Great menu choice. Compliments to the chef, the eggs & the gammon were cooked perfectly. As was the rest of the food. The bar staff are professionals. Attentive staff is always appreciated. Dog friendly!!! Anywhere in the pub they are welcome. Love this!!! Clean toilets. No dog biscuits available though 👎🏻 Nice walk close by, eastfield park. We went for an afternoon walk with twenty four amazing friends, then we stopped at Spinney Hill for drinks. The service was great and we all sat outside in their beautiful garden.

It was really busy when we went up . The staff were really friendly and efficient though, so you didn't have to wait long at the bar. A really good selection of beers , the food looked really nice as well ( next time ) . Well worth a visit.

Nice pub. Local feel but with a wide choice of beer and food. Green King IPA is good.
