Good food, very well looked after by all the team, would recommend.

Food was not cooked, chicken was pink inside, very disappointed as we've had food before which was good.

Had a lovely curry will definitely be back if your after a very hot curry I can recommend the lamb Achari meat was tender and plenty of it

The food is wonderful and very generous with portions. The staff are attentive without being intrusive and so helpful. The place itself has modern decor and is very clean.

I usually have a fairly good experience here, the food is very good. I've been visiting for over 15 years and currently go every month. I've had big birthday meals here and also work team nights out. When I visit with family one of us usually pays and another leaves a cash tip. Tonight while I was splitting the bill with a friend the member of staff tried to get me to pay more than I'd agreed. He called me calculating and instructed me to leave a tip next time! It was an odd night, the restaurant was empty and within 45 minutes the meal was finished. Anyway, I was so embarrassed to be spoken to like that I didn't know what to do so left quickly. They didn't get their tip and I'm afraid there won't be a next time as I can't face going back.

Very tasty curry. Was having a work celebration with over twenty people and the food and service was excellent.

Attracted in by the delicious aromas as we walked past. Could not fault the curries, in fact my partner said the special was the best curry she had ever had. Lovely filling meals at a good price. Will come back again when next in the area.

Ordered a takeaway online on one of the busiest days of the year and it was ready within 30 mins.

We had booked a table for 7.15pm but when we arrived we had to wait for a table to be ready for us. It took ages for our order to be taken and we eventually got our starters around 8.15. Our mains turned up at 9.00pm! We found the food to be bland and it all tasted the same. It was very disappointing! The service wasn't brilliant either. Will try somewhere else next time.

We had a Tuesday night takeaway as we often do. The food arrived 45 minutes late, cold and had a burnt taste to it. This is not what usually happens but we won't be ordering any time soon!

I can highly recommend this place. The food was great 👍 Nice decor and atmosphere. We chose the banquet menu. You get the full choice of the menu. For the starter we had the lamb chops and tikka fish crispy balls. I had the lamb bhuna it was very tasty and the lamb was succulent.

Tasty, delicious dishes. Seriously a really great takeaway. My kids love the Butter Chicken. Sis in law has the tikka, brother had the pathia. All were enjoyed thoroughly. Paneer dishes also great.

Very disappointed in the quality of food unfortunately. We found the “special” to be inedible, tough chicken and flavours not balanced. Masala fries incredibly soggy. Tikka masala and Dhansak were ok.

What an amazing excellent venue with first class food service and value for money. We were advised about promotional offerings to benefit from value for money menu. The food itself was tasty and filling with the venue providing take away containers so no food was wasted. Can’t wait for next opportunity to visit and recommended for visitors to the area.

Thieves and fraudsters - charged for drinks that never arrived at the table, and vegetable dishes magically became pricier meat dishes on the bill (vegetable korma on bill as chicken) This restaurant clearly cannot handle groups of more than 4. I personally paid £22 for a meal that on their menu should have cost £17.95. Service was quite poor to boot - tonic water served warm for some reason and about 50% of the dishes were not correct. I know large groups are hard but it's not difficult to write a list and stick to it.

Fantastic food with amazing flavours.

First off I have to say the food was excellent but that is the only plus point. The service and attitude of the majority of staff was awful, we had to wait 1.15 hours to get our starters despite asking several times and being told it was on it’s way out, we asked for a jug of water 4 times and then had to go to the bar to fetch it ourselves and we had to clear dirty plates ourselves moving them onto a spare table. We were not on our own - 1 table had put their coats on to leave when their food came out and to cap it all they tried to charge for 2 bottles of wine when we’d only had one

I ordered, mix grill, fish pakora and lamb biryani. Unfortunately, lamb in the mixed grill was really hard and soaked in oil. I’m surprised why?? It’s a grill so suppose to be oil free. The lamb biryani was ok. The service was gr8 but I do think they need to improve the taste of their grill items.

Having been loads of times, we went for my husbands birthday, the ambiance has disappeared and I’m guessing it has different owners from our past great experiences, along with the warm decor. There were two huge parties and had we been told we would have gone somewhere else. It was too noisy to hear what was being said by our waiter and when we finally got our starter it went decidedly down hill. Couldn’t get another drink and waited nearly 45 minutes for our main course. Not the best customer service, they were fairly rude, and it turned into chaos as some of the people were sending food back for being cold, the chief honcho was barking orders at the waiters. Mine wasn’t that hot but I knew we’d never get home if I sent it back. There seemed to be no atmosphere in there at all. It used to be so good. Doubt we’ll go back.

I recently dined at Spicy Aroma, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with the entire experience. The moment I entered the restaurant, I was struck by the luxurious and welcoming ambiance that surrounded me. The environment was so pleasant that I immediately felt at ease, and the staff's warm and hospitable nature only added to the overall experience. Speaking of the staff, it was evident that they were incredibly well-trained and knowledgeable about the menu, as they provided us with excellent service throughout our meal. I was also delighted to find that there was free parking available within the restaurant area, which made my visit all the more convenient. When it came to the food, my kids and I were blown away by the delicious flavors and aromas that we experienced. The Chicken Tikka was an absolute hit with the little ones, while I personally fell in love with the Fish Tikka, which I tried for the first time. We also tried the Bhindi Bhaji and Tarka Dal, both of which were cooked to perfection and complemented by the soft, plain Naan. Although the food portions were slightly smaller compared to other restaurants, I must say that the quality of the dishes more than made up for it. I would highly recommend making a reservation in advance, as the restaurant was quite busy when we visited. Overall, I would definitely recommend a visit to Spicy Aroma to anyone looking for a luxurious dining experience with delicious food and excellent service.

Great food, shame about the service. It's the first place I've eaten at that insisted we keep cutlery between starters and mains. Our waiter brought our mains, gave one plate then walked away to deal with other customers and then started serving them! When he came back there were no serving spoons for the sides that were being shared amongst our group. When we asked for spoons for them we were told to use our individual spoons. The waiter eventually agreed to give us serving spoons but then, again, walked away to serve other people. In the end I had to get them myself. To cap it all we waited ages for the table to be cleared and only got there by attracting the attention of the guy behind the bar. If they were full and run off their feet I could understand it but they were only about half full. I'd definitely get the food here again, but only as takeaway.

Best Indian I have had in the Bristol area. Food was delicious, zero complaints. Only feedback I can give is that the service not be as rushed. Not even a minute after we sat we were asked what drinks we would like and the pace was maintained throughout our time. Food can take a while to come out but this is also based on how busy the restaurant is. Definitely recommend on a weekday night.

Ready at allocated collection time, service was friendly and food was great.

Twenty minutes late, but that didn’t include the 1 hour 40 minutes delivery time, so two hours in all. This was early evening so not at peak time. Food finally arrived but had to be reheated. There are better restaurants out there. This was another chance after I swore never to use them again four years ago. Nothing has changed.

The food was very good, but we had to wait over an hour for it. We ordered the takeaway and were told it would be ready to collect in half an hour, however I think they didn't start cooking it until we arrived to pick it up at the time it was supposed to be ready, as we then had to wait a further 35 minutes!

Ordered delivery via app, delivery due between 30-45 minutes. At 1 hour called and asked when could we expect food, 10 minutes they said. Another 30 minutes still no food, called again to be told they were busy and they were dealing with those in restaurant! Again 10 minutes. Finally arrived 20 minutes later. 1 poppadom even though we had ordered for 6 people! Food very disappointing as well, minimal meat in the curry mainly thin sauce not at all what we expected. This isn’t the first time this has happened but tried again in case last experience a one off. Sadly not, so won’t be using them again. Not even an offer to refund any money over £100 order. Lost our custom for good.

Ordered 6;50 said it would come 7:50 it's now 8;35 pm and still not here! Heading up to two hours since order.

Food quality was awful and the order took 1 hour and 25 minutes to arrive when the restaurant is 5 minutes down the road. Rang twice and was told twice it was 5 minutes away which was not true.

Food was lovely but took an hour and a half

New owners have caused this once great place to go downhill and fast. I have used this restaurant for many years however tonight is my last visit. The last three visits I have had to wait over 20 minutes past my takeaway collection time. Tonight I witnessed one poor chap ask three times when his food would be ready as he had waited over 30 minutes past his collect time and each time he was ignored. It wasn’t even that busy for eat-in. I could hear others that sat waiting also commenting on how the place has gone downhill fast. We have noticed that the food has changed quality considerably since the new year and will now be taking our business to one of Portishead’s other establishments.

Visited this Indian restaurant with my 2 young children one week day evening. The atmosphere, cleanliness, food and service was outstanding. Highly recommend.

Not impressed this time. It was very slow wait time and when it finally arrived it was barely even warm 😮‍💨 the chutney sizes and quality have shrunk too! 🫤 Not happy, will be trying a different Indian next time

Regular take-away customer but decided to visit for an evening meal. Proved to be a good decision! Food was excellent albeit service a little slow. However staff very friendly and relaxed atmosphere so no real issue. Happy to go again!

My favourite Indian in Portishead.... alwsys freshly cooked food,which you cambtrll as they will adapt the recipes to your taste, These guys are so friendly and welcoming, lovely decor /ambience, and easy to park outside. Wed.AND Thursday ( or is thst Tues.&Wed...better check !) Banquet night , you can't get better value than that.

Said it was going to be a 45-60 minute wait ended up waiting an hour and 35 minutes. The food was warm at best tasted nice though. Normally my trusted go to Indian

Food took 2hours 20 minutes to arrive. I phoned 3 times and each time got told it would be delivered within 10 minutes, no apology, no offer to refund.

45 MINUTES LATE both naan breads non edible to burt onion bhajis were solid could not enjoy,,shame as usual really nice overall not a good experience.

The food wasn’t great I asked for a cheesy nann and it was plain cold and doughy!! The chicken was brown so it wasn’t eaten the rice was very bitty!!

The food arrived 17 mins after being informed it was out for delivery. It arrived cold and with part of the order missing. On calling the restaurant to inform them of the missing part of the order they were very unhelpful and rude.

Rude staff. Order wrong. Items missing and meal therefore ruined. Trying to blame the delivery driver. Not prepared to try and rectify the situation. Just shouted and abused me over the phone! Absolutely disgraceful service and response.
