Went here with a 16 strong group of cyclists Fantastic food. Served in good time! Very helpful staff too And they didn’t have our pants down with the price.

Ghandi is our usual goto Indian takeaway but unfortunately today we were a bit disappointed. The food was lacking flavour, chicken in curry was dry and only one poppadom (with chutney) arrived to share between two people. It was given free but to a value of £3.40 so we expected more.

Unfortunately will not order again delivery driver was rude rang me put the phone down i even walked to the lift to make it easier having been a chinese delivery driver myself previously then started to lecture me about my address and complain he had another 10 deliveries in my building, I had added on the notes it was block B. The food was nice but chicken was a bit pink. Will stick with a Chinese next time won't be ordering from here again driver needs sacking.

Been in the restaurant a couple of times recently and have had lovely meals. Good value on a Wednesday Evening also! Give it a try

Unfortunately whilst the food is pretty good, the home delivery service (takeaway) consistently results in food being delivered cold or broken (poppadums are always brown into many pieces). Sort out your packaging and your delivery man! Update...4 years later and the poppadoms still get delivered in a thousand pieces and food is still like warm at best!

This place, always serves up good food and is still the best & consistent curry house in Portishead - had a great curry the other night - day 2 left over curry was even better

ordered based on a stated delivery time. as soon as confirmed it was pushed back by 25-45 mins. it did arrive at the 25 mins point but nearly half an hour later than I'd originally been informed

I ordered poppadoms and mango chutney for £3.40 and got one poppadom. Not great really!

Used twice while staying on business in the Bristol area. Hot, tasty Indian food, promptly delivered, and excellent value for money. Highly recommended 😃

Really disappointed. Always use this restaurant but tonight unfortunately the food was inedible. Both curries lacked flavour. The curries, chips and rice all tasted like water almost like it had just come straight out of a freezer and microwaved. Pompadoms were stale. This isn’t a cheap takeaway choice so really disappointed to not be able to eat it.

My Tandoori mixed grill was so tender and wonderfully spiced, great naan and salad too. Top marks! 😊

Seven of us enjoyed a lovely lunch. There’s a great range of menu choices and we were served quickly. Staff were very attentive. The food was lovely. The only thing that worried us was that we were the only customers in the restaurant over the whole lunchtime period and we wondered how they could sustain that. We’ll all happily go back again.

I had two takeaways on 12 November to take back to Wales. Ate the veg Balti today and it was class, lovely flavours and just right. I am off to Goa in a n month and this is Goa standard. I have a veg Madras to review soon and I can't wait. Great food.

Waited 2 hours for food. Was gutted to wait an hour or more initially but when this was further delayed it put me right off. Food was nice, the wait was not.

Such a shame after I had heard good things, the food came cold, the onion bhajis were soggy, the breads we ordered were extremely oily and the chicken in the curries were really dry. Didnt enjoy and wouldnt come back again.

I booked the food at 6.30 for 7.45. It turned up at 8.25. The food was okay, but when you are spending £60 you expect a better service.

My husband and I picked this restaurant because of their reviews. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Portishead. The staff were very welcoming as soon as we arrived. Seated us at a lovely table which I had called ahead and booked. It was the nicest Indian restaurant we had been in. Very clean modern and spacious. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Dopiaza, Pilau rice and a garlic naan. Drinks 2 pints of Cobra lager and 2 large glasses of Rose Zinfandel wine. Amazing price under £42. The food was excellent. Lamb melted in your mouth. Chicken tikka was just right. So if you want a great curry definitely pay this restaurant a visit.

Been here many times but very disappointed tonight. My king prawn butterfly was overcooked and dry as to be inedible. I followed with a chicken Dhansak but I swear the chicken was reheated from the bank holiday weekend just prior. It was extremely dry, no moisture at all, just what I would expect from a reheat. I phoned to complain (not for a refund) and the gentleman I spoke to did not deny the reheat accusation and also said that it was hard to get the microwave heating of the butterfly just right. The other two meals we ordered were fine but my own evening was completely ruined as explained above. If I go back, I shall pre-warn them that I don't want any dry or overcooked/reheated food. If it happens again that will be the last of my business after some years of visiting/home delivery.

One of the best Indian meals we have had recently, friendly staff, comfy seating and table, great service and well cooked and presented food. Very reasonable prices too. Would visit again when next in the area.

The best curry in Portishead - no question. Exceptional every time and always such lovely staff. Having been to all the others in Portishead, I can absolutely say this is by far the best curry house. The tastiest, most flavoursome food cooked to perfection. The restaurant is also a lovely atmosphere. Can’t wait for my next Ghandi curry!

Fantastic food with great portion sizes. I’ve always lived in Portishead and this has always been the place to get the best Indian food. They are always happy to see customers and achieve great service every time.

This is the second occasion we have visited and on both times the experience has been memorable. My partner and I favour drier curries and so I opted for tandoori mixed grill and my partner chicken shaslik. The curries were tasty and cooked to perfection. The mushroom rice, naan and popadom starters were all superb. The service was attentive but not excessively so. This restaurant is a little gem in the heart of Portishead.

Have dined here a couple of times and on both occasions my partner and I have been delighted with the food and service. We both favour drier curries so I chose the tandoori mixed grill which was very tasty and the mushroom rice which was also cooked to perfection. Myself, wife and friends had a weekend in Portishead and stopped at the Premier Inn. I asked to recommend an Indian restaurant and they said here. The food was excellent, fresh and piping hot. The staff were professional, friendly and the restaurant was spotless. Iwould definitely recommend here.

Starters were okay, but I can’t get my head around the feeling that the sauce in my dish was based on a tin of tomato soup? The onion rings were a bizarre addition to a lamb dish to have in an Indian restaurant. The mango chutney with the popadoms was more like a jam. I wouldn’t visit again.

So, so disappointed, food was late which isn’t necessarily the end of the world. However, one of the starters was so over cooked part of it was hard and inedible, the main courses sauce was like soup and again because it was late or cooked over was hard to eat the chewy meat. We ate it as we were hungry, but incredibly disappointed. As was a treat for my wife’s birthday. Even more disappointed as it’s normally brilliant food and service.

The Dhansak tasted like burnt onions and the tikka masala was watery and an odd taste. Disappointed after having eaten there a few years ago. We both had stomach ache all the next day as well. On a plus side they have us free poppadoms and an extra rice we didn’t order - so thank you for that.

Great food for a fantastic price. Wonderful customer service. They are happy for you to stay on your table so you are not rushed to leave for another cover. Recommend you go and enjoy, you will not be disappointed.

We came here as a group of 9. When we ordered our mains it took and hour and half for itnto arrive. The staff were quite miserable, not forthcoming with coming to the table to ask if we wanted drinks. When food arrived it was cold, small bits of chicken literally 6 pieces on each dish . Missing a pilau rice and onion baji. And to top the evening off the two children were sat near a couple who wanted to discuss what sexual acts they were going to perform on each other after they left the restaurant, not the restaurants fault, but they certainly weren't being quiet about their intentions, and I'm sure staff would have been aware. Wouldn't go again.

Two hours to deliver take out. Ok it was a Saturday night so I understand they are busy but the expected time from just eat was not true at all (one hour instead of two). The food was only just warm when we received it.

Great food, pleasant staff. I ordered chicken sag, the texture and taste were spot on. Freshly made naan was amazing. Quiet Sunday visit, plenty of people popping in for take away.

Absolutely disgusting, worst indian meal. I ordered chicken tikka rezella which came with dried up chicken which had been kept on a hot plate and all dry and brown on top. My husband ordered chicken jalfrezi which came with huge pieces of green peppers and onions with small pieces of chicken all dry. No atmosphere in the restaurant with staff taking it in turns to pop outside for cigarettes dragging smoke back in with them and not washing their hands before handling food. We complained about the food which we refused to eat and they told us to pay for our drinks and leave. Definitely wouldn't recommend this restaurant

Amazing food, full of flavour, temperature of the food could’ve been hotter (maybe invest in a thermos bag) My only bugbear was the naan bread. It was like a pitta pita bread.

First time using here all I can say is lush

Real issues here on a Saturday night - ordered a takeaway at 6.15pm and given a 7.15pm delivery slot. Didn't arrive by 7.45pm so we called where we were told it was on the way and when it hadn't arrived by 8.05pm, we called again to be told it'll be no longer than 15 mins. Over an hour after the given delivery time, we told Ghandi to cancel the order - 2 days on there's no sign of a refund (ordered via their website) and now have a PayPal claim pending against this restaurant that isn't resolved. Given how many great curry houses we have in Portishead, I can't recommend Ghandi given the lack of service, timekeeping and failing to provide our refund.

Dined at Ghandi on Wednesday evening (16th November) their banquet night whilst in the area. Great selection of food available, came out piping hot and absolutely delicious!!! Very attentive staff and food served by the owner. Excellent value for money and when we are next in the South West we will dine again.

Haven’t ordered from here before and can say this shall now be our local food tasted fresh and arrived nice and hot! Best in Portishead :)

Korma….a pretty basic dish for an Indian restaurant just tasted like a mint yogurt and whilst they gave me extra popadoms they were quite stale…a shame Mumbai has closed down.
