Awesome little cafe where they even know you by name.

Ideal place to have breakfast or brunch, it offers many sweet and savory choices, I recommend it if you want to try the typical English breakfast, the place is very popular, I recommend booking, friendly staff and tap water available, there are many vegetarian options

Fantastic coffee and a great selection of sandwiches and pastries

Spicer+Cole Queen Square offers a comfortable and welcoming third space. I’m especially fond of their cake selection, particularly the friands—delicious little almond cakes I’ve become obsessed with! They also serve a great variety of savoury options for both breakfast and lunch. However, the true highlight of my visits is the friendly staff, who brighten my day with their warmth and kindness. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Pretentious and overpriced coffee. Didn't have any food. Not my cup tea, or coffee

Visiting from out of town, we were hoping for a quick bite before exploring Bristol a bit, however we ended up being here a lot longer than anticipated. The only reason this isn’t a 1 star review is because the sandwich was actually decent, but waiting 45 minutes for a LUKEWARM poached egg, piece of bacon and some harissa sauce on a cold ciabatta is ridiculous. Makes me think it was sitting there forgotten about. I went up and asked at the 30 minute mark and was assured it’d be another 5. It was another 15. My friends were left waiting for me to finish as they had gotten their food ages ago. Coffee was just okay, nothing spectacular. Wouldn’t recommend it if you’re in hurry!

Decent enough coffee and granola, but the bacon and egg sandwich we ordered took 45 minutes to get to the table. We even had to remind the staff about it halfway through that waiting time, and being assured that it's "just 5 minutes", while the rest of us had already finished their breakfast. Those 5 minutes turned into 15-20 minutes. More so, when it finally arrived, it was lukewarm at best. No sandwich takes that long to make, and if it has been sitting there unattended long enough to get cold, it shouldn't leave the kitchen at all. Unfortunately, the service was very poor, wouldn't recommend.

There are actually no gluten free options...

ordered a salmon bagel, waited 20 minutes never got it. turns out the woman sold them out and forgot about my order. do not recommend…

Close branch to where I live, decided to try today and regret it! The staff are very slow and rude. They’ll take forever serving you and won’t communicate when they’ll be with you when you’re in the queue to pay. Wouldn’t suggest visiting this one in Bristol unfortunately.

Came here for lunch 3yrs ago visiting Bristol as the place looked nice. Food was on the pricey side and service very slow - also not many places to sit and eat as does get quite busy and is quite small inside.

I recently stopped by Spicer and Cole, and it quickly became one of my favorite spots. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The space is beautifully clean, cozy, and perfect for catching up with friends or just enjoying some "me-time" with a good book. The coffee is simply amazing—rich, smooth, and clearly crafted with care. It’s exactly what you want when you’re craving that perfect cup of cortado. And for those of us who work on the go, the internet connection is reliable, making it an ideal place to get some work done while enjoying your drink. But what really makes Spicer and Cole special is the friendly service. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home, and their genuine smiles and helpful attitude make a big difference. Thank you for my orange cake. If you're looking for a spot that combines great coffee, a lovely ambiance, and top-notch service, Spicer and Cole is definitely worth a visit.

Veggie breakfast was decent. Mushrooms, beans & potatoes were great. I usually love halloumi but it was quite thin and overcooked. Coffee was decent & quick. It was busy early on a Sunday morning. Their menu had a lot of nice-sounding items and a few vegetarian friendly options.

Lovely little cafe with fresh cakes. The guest coffee was pretty good for a non speciality cafe but what sent me to a happy place was the raspberry loaf. Get it before it’s gone!

A decent veggie breakfast. Egg, toast, spiced beans, and potatoes were all spot on. Halloumi and mushrooms were over cooked and dry as a result. Excellent coffee and teas. Although we didn't have any all the cakes and pastries looked really nice.

Disappointing. Had a tuna and cucumber sandwich and the bread was very soggy. Didn't rake cash, only card.

I had the worse meal in this place. Absolutely tasteless and chewy. Only the bread was nice. The beans were horrendous I couldn’t eat them, the bacon was overcooked and the sausage was absolutely disgusting. The mushrooms were burnt. Other people then told me that you only get coffee in this place because food is disappointing and it’s been for a while. I’m surprised you don’t do anything about it. It also took a while for the food to come out.

Scandi-vibe cafe with a really well put together breakfast and excellent coffee.

A corner plot with floor to ceiling windows to take in the local environment. This coffee shop selling a variety of drinks, cakes and lunch offerings would be great for the quick catch up with a friend or colleague. From the cake selection you won’t be disappointed by the Tunisian orange cake even if you don’t like orange flavoured cakes! I had to look up how the cake was made because it had a strange but very enjoyable flavour palette. I found the taste to be a blend of the almond, clove and cinnamon ingredients used. The clove and cinnamon were very subtle, on the level of the flavours you might expect from and M&S or Waitrose Christmas biscuit. The orange flavour wasn’t punchy. It again was subtle and pair well with the delicate flavours of other ingredients. I would liken the cake as a whole to a family recipe. Its composition was balanced throughout. This extends to the syrup used to drench the sponge. It didn’t gush out but instead made the sponge moist. The house coffee greets your taste buds with a very roasted hit at first (Black coffee). However, the flavour develops into a fruit one that’s smooth and ends with only a slight bitter note.

Pretty much my local when I come back to Bristol. It's a sleek modern setting, good food presentation with a nice atmosphere. Usually order the bacon, egg, harissa sandwich and it's pretty good. Coffee pretty nice also. Would never order anything on display as it seems quite unhygienic with everyone breathing all over the food........a plastic shield at a minimum would be handy. Think the staff are nice enough but could do better with cleaning as tables are quite messy even after one round of customers.

Random thought 💭 to be here in last week Sunday morning everything is closed in Bristol. This place was open early morning 🌅 in that day😍we had a great time here. Friendly staff and cheerful vibe Lots of space to sit and enjoy your coffee/tea . Best 🥐 croissant 2 pound around and the avocado toast was delicious.

A small disappointment with the staff who were not friendly or helpful, I don't eat gluten, there were a few cakes but nothing was offered for savory items, their excuse was that they didn't have time to prepare for that while my partner who had ordered a halloumi toast, without much taste and was already ready since the morning, waited 20 minutes to be served, a little ironic. At least the coffee was good, the only advantage of the place.

This is a great place for a late breakfast, or that all important Second Breakfast. Friendly service, a happy, buzzy crowd and good coffee. A fabulous selection of cakes and other goodies.

Been a couple times, they do amazing breakfast sandwiches and great almond croissants. Very busy on weekends so you often wait for a table but staff always try to accommodate. Unfortunately we were told that none of the cakes were nut free :(

Coffee was lovely but it is such a shame they don't accept cash. I tried to pay with £10 note and they said they were card only. Not everyone has a debit or credit card. It infuriates me that more places are card only. This was a highly rated coffee place but not any more.

Definitely will be going again next time I'm in the area. The mocha was so creamy and the flat white was one of the best I have tasted also we had a pistachio pastry, now I don't really like pistachio but it was so good!

Good, but I expected a bit more. The avocado toast could be a bit more generous with more ingredients, same for the vege brunch, the poached eggs dropped on a grilled piece of bread could somehow use a bit of imagination... All in all it's worth going but would need a little kick to make it to the top.

I was extremely happy to find a gluten free filo pastry here. The rest of the salad that I got with it was also delicious, and I had a small cake to take away that I wish I had bought more of. This place was a wonderful treat and I would gladly go there again!

Be very weary of this place. The staff are amateurs, rude and inflexible. I asked to have my eggs scrambled and the serving staff were unwilling to even asks the chef 😮‍💨 We didn’t order and we left immediately Please… these staff need to be retrained or the shop won’t last I will not be coming back here for sure!

I believe that Spicer+Cole is one of the best coffee shops in Bristol. The coffee is really good variety of pastries and sandwiches. Delicious brunch menu on the weekend. Staff are very friendly and nice

Very friendly and professional staff. The food offering seems to be improved in the last few months. Though I wasn't too impressed with the sausage toasted sandwich today. Not hot enough, and with insipid sausages with no colour to them. But some of the other items, filo parcel and sausage rolls, looked fantastic. The coffee, as always, is well made and never screaming hot. I recommend going and will keep going myself. Keep up the good work.

Popped in as a result of Google reviews while on a short trip to Bristol (Queens Square). Laid back, nicely designed place, ideal location, great menu and helpful staff. Quite high prices for two teas and two small cakes, but genuinely lovely tea.

I find it really hard to fault Spicer+Cole. The food is top notch, service is great and there's a nice vibe when it's busy. Ok, not the cheapest place but all the ingredients are fantastic, so go on, treat yourself!

Nice atmosphere inside. But it took almost half an hour to receive the order.

Slow service, bacon sandwich was 95% bread. Avocado toast portion was extremely small for the price.

This place used to be great but now the quality of the food has dropped significantly. The last few times I have been for breakfast I was served very stale food, specially the bread. I will not be going back.

Very nice atmosphere and vibes. Love the place. And they have several food choices (sandwiches, salads and cakes). But I don’t recommend the place with kids cuz it’s a business area.

Honestly the best place coffee in bristol, the guys are always on point, milk always perfect, coffee always perfect, and the pastries are the best around. The staff are always great too. Unsure about the red pesto in the mozzarella and tomato croissants mind. Maybe green pesto? Amazing though give these guys a raise!

The service here is incredibly rude, the lady basically just rolled here eye on me when I couldn’t hear what she said as the cafe is so noisy. The pastries in front of the counter must be covered with customer’s saliva and very dirty due to all the talking while ordering.

One of the best breakfasts we have ever had. This place has a variety of delicious, fresh ready made items available from the counter. You can also choose from a range of freshly cooked options. We have the avocado on toast and the S+C Full English, cooked to perfection and generous in quantity.

The coffee at Spicer and Cole is notoriously slow, I am 8 months pregnant and this morning was also carrying my 2 year old, we ordered take away drinks and sat down at one of the empty tables to wait for them only to be asked to move in case one of the eat in customers wanted the table. Terrible customer service, coffee took 10 mins to come after we had been made to stand up. Will never go there again.

Grim place. They hate dogs and asked us to leave. What cafe in Bristol bans spaniels? Staff were apologetic and said owners hate dogs. Amazing they don’t want the custom in current climate.
