Have been getting our curry from here for years, even when we moved, we still travel the 40mins to collect. Have not found another curry house with as great flavours, hubby's favourite is the house special. Forhad and his team always friendly and support local businesses and charities too!

It was ordered to the wrong spice zone I requested a refund they declined frustrated as £43 and u received nothing

I have been using Spice Zone on and off for years. Tonight England were playing Switzerland in the Euros so we decided to pre-order our takeaway to allow for the rush after the football was finished. I used their Website which allowed me to pre-order and they gave a selection of times and I chose their option of 7.25pm which was acknowledged and appeared on my order and they also sent me an email confirming my order and the time of 7.25pm to be delivered. At 7.03pm, our meal was delivered. My daughter told the delivery driver that we weren’t expecting it until 7.25pm but there wasn’t a lot we could do. I rang Spice Zone and asked to speak to the Manager who told me that when a customer pre-orders it is acceptable for the order to arrive half hour early or even half hour late when they are busy. I argued that there was nothing in their websites that states this and if this was the case, what is the point of customers pre-ordering a stated time . He kept insisting that it was acceptable for them to do this and was not interested that my order was having to go in the oven for at least half hour until the football had finished and would not taste good because it would start drying up. I asked to speak to the owner who’s attitude was a disgrace and would not accept responsibility and told me to go away and enjoy my meal. Not once did I get an apology from either men. I would suggest if anyone is thinking of pre-ordering their takeaway to be delivered at a certain time, they don’t bother. In my opinion, this is a total misrepresentation in advertising a service which they are not able to adhere to and I will be contacting Trading standards to see if anything can be done about misleading their customers. Needless to say, I shall not be using them again and think that they are a disgrace. !

Pre ordered a curry so we could have a family meal after. It turned up 30 minutes early. The boss was rude and patronising to my 75 year old mother. Will never ever use Spice Zone again - Have respect for loyal customers. !!!!

Not one to leave reviews normally but unfortunately had to comment on this order. The food was very plain in flavour and the chicken in all the dishes extremely dry, in fact my wife commented that the chicken tikka was actually quite hard. Side dishes also very poor with poor quality and flavour. Such a shame as delivery was on time and the lady delivering very polite…even when the order was missing the rice she was back with it with around 5 minutes.. unfortunately most of the food went in bin

Cant fault the food. Always order our Indian from here and its always. I had chicken dupiaza, egg fried rice and lots of naan breads. Beautiful.

The Kerala was outstanding, my partner said the Tandoori Garlic was a bit hotter than usual but otherwise lovely curry as always!!

Hate to leave a bad review but…Not the best…We were excited to try this place as new customers because their menu looked great with a really good variety but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. It was mostly pretty flavourless and seemed to be cooked from frozen ingredients and frozen veg making it all the more bland. Bit disheartening when so many places take the time and effort to use fresh ingredients. Perhaps we just caught them on a rough night but due to this we won’t be returning.

This place is amazing! The chicken tikka is my personal favourite. As a picky eater and someone who never finds good places to enjoy my own cultures food, this place is definitely the best, service is amazing and I never have to wait long to get my food. Absolutely brilliant!

5 stars! My son is a very fussy eater and only food he LOVES is Spice Zone curry. We order very often and can say that delivery service is fantastic. All members of staff are very friendly and polite. We are highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you to all at Spice Zone.

Be aware these people are out to rip you off I’ve. Sen ripped off over £10! Even after telling the man on the phone he had totalled my order up wrong . I had totalled it up on my phone to £57 using their menu . He went through the order again which was correct 6 popadoms which I’d asked for yes he said I said it doesn’t come to £71.70 my order isn’t even £60!!! No dear I can assure you it is £71.70 so I had to pay it it was getting late and I had guests ! Our order arrived , it was nice not as much as usual in it ! But it was tasty ! Then we went to get the 6 popadoms out the bag and they had sneakily put in 16!!!!! They are 95p each!!! Please be aware of this dirty scam!!!! The man on the phones. English. Can not be that bad!? He had even repeated back to me ... 6 popadoms !!! Not 16!!! I’m not ordering from spice zone Halstead Essex again! That’s it for me! They won’t be taking the p**s out of me again!

Food was cold, if I wanted a microwave meal I wouldnt have paid this much 3 times I have ordered every time late in total over a hour for food

I got in late from work and could t be bothered to cook, so decided on a delivery. I’ve never used Spice Zone before and I definitely won’t be using them again. I ordered via their App and it confirmed delivery in 55 minutes (19.06) the App updated at 19.00 to say it was on its way, so far so good. I’m 7 minutes down the road, at 19.22 I called to see where my meal was, to be told it had just left (the App said over 20 minutes earlier) and would be with me in minutes. I called again at 19.40 to chase again, some 40 minutes after the App said my meal had left the kitchen/restaurant, I was promised a call back to update me………. Nothing!!!!!!! My meal turned up at 19.56, nearly an hour after the App said it left the building, it was in simple terms awful, cold, the bread was sweaty and soggy where it had been in the bag for so long. I tried to call to complain, but after 5 tries of them not answering I gave up, which is probably what they wanted. This establishment is a joke and should be avoided. I’m a diabetic and need to take my insulin 30 minutes before I eat, which I did, this meal was an hour late!!! Thanks Spice Zone for ruining my relaxing evening and making me ill for having insulin in my body and no food!!!

Average taste wise. I ordered the Bengali curry which is beef and it came with chicken. Strange.

The food was delicious as usual. House Special Curry is highly recommended, the Kerala was spicy and left us wanting more. They also still delivered despite adverse weather, thank you.

Food was cold, rice undercooked, the tamarind sauce inedible. roman josh was totally bland as were the bombay aloo. sag panner tasted like earth as if the spinach hadn't been washed. Didn't eat it.

Food is consistently good, made with first rate, fresh ingredients. Staff are friendly and polite and deliveries are quick with the food piping hot. We've been a customer for over a decade and it really starts our weekend on a high.

We always order from this restaurant and are always happy but this time the food tasted like they put sugar in our curry’s and my rice wasn’t impressed had to throw it away.

Amazing as usual! We love getting a take away from here the food is just soo good! It was a little late tonight but they rang up and apologised so it was no problem at all. I literally cannot fault the food this is such a hidden gem. I have made an observation however, not a moan but I order the same dish every time, and every time the heat level has been quite a bit different. First time was really spicy and tonight wasn’t that hot at all and no chillis in it. Kind of annoying but still great

First time ordering from here and I’m very pleased, order arrived on time, the starter, the street food wraps were amazing! Beautiful. Rice was cooked great, the beef dish was okay it was very tender, but unfortunately not massively flavourful or spicy. The paratha was cooked perfectly. Also I believe the mint dip to be homemade as it was delicious also. All in all very exited to order again, and hopefully find some more flavourful main dishes. Great work guys

Great takeaway and great service

Absolutely fantastic, we were visiting for a long weekend and fancied a curry, there was a big variety of dishes and when they arrived (very quickly) they were piping hot and we were given free bhajis. The portions were very generous and were delicious. Sad we don’t live near this place or else it would have become a regular for us.

Curry was outstanding, best we have had for a long time. The naan bread tasted burnt, and was massively over done. Let down the whole take away. So wouldn’t order that again. Definitely would buy a curry again though

Our favourite Indian takeaway in the area, we love placing orders from here. Even though the onion bhajis are usually our favourite dish, they were soggy and disappointing tonight despite the rest of the meal being great. Nothing comparable to the last time's crunchy ones! Hopefully they do better when we next order.

Easy online ordering - meal arrived 20-30 minutes before estimated time which suited us even better. Have to give credit to Spice Zone for including a dish that had been missed on a previous occasion so thank you for that.

By far the best Indian takeaway in town and has been for some time, super busy in weekends but still manage to get food to you a decent time . Do wish they'd branch out to a restaurant one day however

Fantastic service, staff are friendly and very helpful, always able to cater for any dietary requirements. The food is delightful, always full of flavour and extremely tasty. Not to mention the drivers, always get it to your door as quick as possible and are always polite! 5/5 - would absolutely recommend!

Food was nicely prepared, tasted good but was cold. Also the 2.5l of coke I brought is a few months out of date. Disappointing when spent £30.
