Spice Tandoori in Moray

This is a lovely restaurant, just reopened with a new chef. Excellent service, couldn't have done more for us. The food was great, best curry we've had for a long time. I went with my husband and son and we all enjoyed our meal.

We’re quite a regular of takeaways here, but since it’s had a rebranding to MacRaj. The quality, size of portions had reduced but the Prices has considerably gone up. Last nights takeaway was such a disappointment - Tiger Khan was nothing like the usual recipe and seemed more like a Creamy Korma with a slice of orange on top. We always have vegetarian options and feel like it’s a rip off as always seem to have frozen veg mix in any dishes. Surely doesn’t justify a £9 + charge per dish. My go to when it was Tge Lossie Restaurant was Mushroom Dhansak, now no longer an option.

Put my review under 'Rock House Hotel' as I believe that's where they're based now. Would recommend for a good Bengali curry in Lossie

We had a takeaway from their new place. Curries were pretty average. No real spice to them. Garlic nan was a good texture but was very sweet, and had no garlic on it?? So not really a garlic nan ….. Won’t be going back

We enjoyed a delicious meal here last week. Service and food were excellent, and COVID protocols very much in evidence. It’s a spacious restaurant and was busy when we were there, but diners were seated well apart. We will definitely eat here again, and highly recommend it to others.

We had a lovely meal here tonight Fresh tasting curry and all the sides etc were delicious. Was our first time and would definitely come back. It was fairly busy and unfortunately they only had one server on (dealing with all tables, takeaways and drinks orders) he was great though, not once looking stressed.

I sometimes worry that a review from a previous reviewer will not be as good as was claimed. With the Lossie restaurant I should not have been concerned.I ordered the set meal A for 2 and every element was absolutely delicious.The restaurant looked rather dark and unassuming but this hid within a talent for producing delicious Indian Fayr.

Visited last night on a weekend away with my wife for our anniversary, and what can I say? The food was fantastic, the staff were great and very interactive with us and made us feel very welcome. The portions were very rich and filling. The pakora and mint sauce is to die for, and the chasni was beautiful. The curry awards are well deserved. Definitley one of the best Indian outlets I've eaten from ever, and my wife says the same. 10/10. Will definitely visit again.

Ate here tonight. Excellent menu with some really interesting and different dishes on offer. Our choices were delicious and the front of house staff very friendly and added to the experience.

I have to admit it, but I don't always do my homework when choosing a restaurant as I like the surprise of visiting with open mind. So, here was I on vacation with the extended family and decided to take the family out for an Indian meal experience. So what is the revelance to me speaking of doing some homework before choosing a restaurant to eat at? Simply put, you can see that what I am about to say is true! Indian/Bangladeshi food is by far my families all time favourite eats. We, collectively, can now say that the food at the Lossie Restaurant is the best in the Highlands. The whole experience was way above my expectations, and I should know, I have eaten in a lot of restaurants around the world and can therefore thoroughly recommend this award winning restaurant to you all. Thank you The Lossie Restaurant for entertaining us. We will definitely be back :)

Visited here my my family last week while on holiday, the service was great, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was amazing, even my kids who can be a bit fussy enjoyed all their food, highly recommend

Without a doubt the best place we ate in Lossiemouth - we went 3 times in the week we were there. This is very good Indian food - beautifully flavoured & cooked. All the specials we had were excellent. The staff are really friendly & welcoming. Highly recommended.

We were initially disappointed when we were told they had ran out of lamb as we always have one lamb dish. However, after tasting both our chicken dishes we quickly forgot our disappointment. They were so full of flavour, simply delicious. Had Colcha nan for the first time and it was amazing. Waiter was really friendly and helpful, both about the food and local knowledge. Well worth eating here.

Friendly enough staff and food to a descent standard and tasty. Couple small issues.... Mushrooms in a main meal although no mention on menu and mix up in coke/diet coke which is not ideal as it was for a diabetic.

Fell on this place walking around and the food was brought to the table very quickly and the flavours were very good. Nice smart decor and the menu was excellent I wish I had more time to sample other dishes from the menu.

We are on our annual road trip in our motorhome and reached Lossiemouth yesterday and fancied a Tandoori. We thought we would try this restaurant and were not disappointed. The food came at a leisurely pace, as we wanted, and was delicious and plentiful. Ended up taking half of it away for today. The attentive service from Rumel and Sahid was excellent and the price was reasonable. Would definitely recommend.

Got a nice welcome from Rumel. attentive waiter's. Starter came quickly and main course came straight after. We had Chicken Tikka Massala and Lamb Balti, Very tasty. Good atmosphere, Lots of customers in.

Very fortunate to have a double award winning curry restaurant on our doorstep. The menu is varied with favourite dishes and some really hot ones! Always tasty and served with style.

We're from Glasgow, the curry capital of Scotland, so are used to being a bit disappointed when we eat Indian food elsewhere. The Lossie, however, didn't disappoint. The food was less spicy than we like, but apart from that, we both enjoyed our meals, and were pleasantly surprised by being given our delicious mango kulfi free at the end of the meal.(Apparently the service had been slow because they were so busy but we hadn't noticed) We shared a bottle of shiraz which was good value at £14.95. All in all, tasty meal with pleasant service. We'll be back next time we're in Lossie!

Wow, this is the place to go if you want an Indian Takeaway! in Moray From the moment I walked in I was greeted by one of the team, ordering was straight forward and my meal did not take long at all. But best of all it tasted amazing. Loved the little extras.. popadoms, spiced onions, salad etc.

Excellent service from the moment we entered. Food was full of flavour and using fresh ingredients. Authentic indian cuisine, with plenty of choice. Owner was attentive and genuinely a lovely guy. Will definitwly be back!!

Me and my partner recently visited this place. We ordered seek kebab starter. The portion was really big. Me and my partner share seek kebab. It was really delicious! I am big fan of this place. The main meal was also remarkably tasty! I recommend this is the best Indian restaurant in this area!

Last February we were on holidays in Morayshire we visited lots of places we went lossie restaurant for lovely dinner I ate rumel special curry and my husband ate murog massala both food was excellent and delicious the service was excellent staff are very friendly and helpful we visited many restaurant but this restaurant was great we will definitely come again

me and three other friends of mine were visited lossie restaurant last evening.. me and my friends are delighted by their 5star service. the young lad was very smiley which is really made my and his banter personality made us laugh! really nice place to visit. looking forward to visit again definitely!

Really nice food. Placed my order on line, the food was delivered on time. However it was delivered by taxi? I was then asked by the taxi driver to pay the fare. Bit surprised as there was no mention of this charge on their website or order confirmation. We were initially prepared to collect the meal as its only a couple of minutes drive, but thought we would explore the delivery option. When no charge was added to the cost of our meal assumed delivery FOC. In discussion the restaurant told us to send the meal back if we didn't want to pay the charge. So I sent the Taxi driver back and kept the meal. Poor response to an omission on their web site, but apparently everyone else knows we should pay the taxi driver! As I said nice meal but not a great experience.

My wife and I had heard some decent reviews for this place so we decided to give it a try. The online menu was easy to use and from the moment we phoned to place our order, the whole process was relatively quick.

My partner and I regularly order take aways from the spice tandoori. However we recently had two of our favourite dishes and were quite disappointed, the portion size of the rice seemed smaller. The currys were watered down and the chicken wasnt the same either. We only reveived 1 poppadom instead of the usall 2. Sadly we will be finding a different restaraunt/take away from now on.

First visit back here for a long time. Very pleasantly surprised. Best Lakota ever and lovely sauces. Salad crisp and fresh. Generous mains, chicken could have been more tender but tasty and rice fresh and delicate. Definitely worth a visit.

A wee hidden gem for Lossiemouth.

Use this Indian quite a lot. Never been disappointed yet.I usually have chicken tikka dhansak, my husband varies his choice all the time. Can be busy at certain times of the day but the food is always good.

We called in on our first night in Lossiemouth. The waiter was attentive and listened to a special request..gluten free.and was very knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble, the food was good and we would certainly return again.

Just had a wonderful meal in this restaurant. Whole family loved it. Our 5 and 7 year old girls ate almost every morsel, as did the adults. Fresh and tasty food, lovely location and very welcoming. Highly recommended.

We had a fabulous evening meal here last night. We were a family of four incl 2 teens. Really enjoyed the food. The curry’s were light on oil which was great and the curry tasted fresh. All three curry dishes tasted unique. We each had a lamb, chicken and king prawn dish. The lamb and chicken were tender and flavoursome. Overall great food. The staff listened well to our preferences. The interior was spacious with room for big groups too. Neat interior. For my son who did not want curry, he had a satisfactory plate of chicken nuggets, chips and salad.

This is a hidden gem in lossie. We stopped by for dinner and it was everything we were hoping for. Excellent garlic naan and tandoori. Definitely worth checking out.

Me and my boyfriend visited for dinner on a weeknight and were greeted with smiling faces and a lovely atmosphere. Almost immediately we were asked for drinks and had our food ordered, with a young man as a host who was extremely polite, vigilant and well mannered.

Excellent choice of authentic Indian food in pleasant friendly atmosphere. Staff very attentive but discreet. Would recommend for social gathering or a quiet relaxing meal. Excellent authentic Indian dining.

This restaurant is now titled The Lossie Restaurant. It still features Indian cuisine....and some! I'm not sure of it's current connection with Spice Tandoorie in Elgin, but the young man who says he owns this one has a lot to be proud of. Redecorated and refurbished to a very high standard, they have managed to retain the friendly atmosphere even when not full.

Before I make comment on the food, let me firstly say the place is in transition and the staff were absolutely first rate. However ordered from the takeaway menu ordered chicken pakora starter with popodums spicy onions etc , the spicy onions Were bland with no taste or punch and far to small a portion for two people , the chicken in the pakora appeared ( only appeared ) to be like pre purchased chicken slices , this combined with the extremely heavy dough batter which was also soggy. Made it Taste again very bland and heavily oiled. The sauce served with the pakora was I believe the yoghurt style which was fine for flavour but a little on the small side. Mains were chicken Cylon and chicken vindeloo in both dishes the chicken was way over cooked and had a taste similar to boiled chicken which leads me to think it has been microwaved in the sauce, the chicken cuts were very uniform and almost identical again leading me to believe this food has been pre made before being reheated on location using processed pre cut chicken peices. The Cylon sauce tasted good however it’s consistency was extremely runny and in the container it was in you could see the sauce visibily separating from the water content giving a further indication this has be reheated. The vindaloo was very week with a soup like consistency with no real depth of flavour and no potatoes as illuded to in the menu it did however provide a mild heat similar to that in heat and taste to locally bought chilli powder. The rice accompaniment was lovely and light and enjoyable. However the two nan breads again appeared identical in shape texture and taste leading to believe these also had been pre made and simply reheated, both nans were put under the kitchen grill at home to cook through to add texture and ensure they were cooked through. Over all

We really enjoyed the food here, and all the staff were very polite. It's a pity it was a Sunday night so it was probably a bit quieter tan usual. All the staff made us welcome and we would certainly return on our next visit. We even had fun with the unusual hand towels which could have been mistaken for marshmallows. As said, we will definitely return.

Really nice restaurant nice decor and well set out. The staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. The food lives up to its curry award win and is of excellent quality. The portions are good, the food is spicy and tasty but not overpowering, the naan breads are fluffy and light. The whole meal was a great experience - thank you.

We chose Spice Tandoori for a small celebration meal. The staff were very attentive, though I suspect we overstayed our allotted time judging by the queue that built up. All agreed the portions were good and the flavours excellent.

The staff were very welcoming and the food was superb. This restaurant is spacious and airy without being impersonal.

My partner his daughter an myself had a very tasty meal tonight. Staff welcomed us with warm smiles, were very polite and helpful. Food was plentiful and delicious. We mentioned we were here for a birthday and we were presented with a few extras birthday surprises. So very generous and kind of them all. Nothing seen to be a bother and we were never rushed. We would definitely recommend a visit and will be again soon. Thank you very much for making our evening special.

Had a family meal while here on holiday. All agreed this was one of the best Indian meals we’ve had. Food delicious, generous portions, and the nans were the lightest and fluffiest we’ve had (we always order butter free). We were well looked after and our only regret was that for us, the Spice Tandoori is too far for home delivery!

While staying at the Lossiemouth Caravan Site for the weekend we decided to have an Indian takeaway, we were not disappointed - our meals were delicious. Staff were extremely friendly. Complimentary poppadoms, onions & chutney was a nice touch. Next time we go back we will try the restaurant. Thank you for a lovely meal !

Visited as a family of four. Interior decor very cosy, background music nice quiet level making conversation comfortable, service excellent, food amazing! me and my husband have been to a lot of Indians around moray. I can say this is the best one by FAR. My husband enjoyed his vindaloo and I enjoyed my lamb pasanda. There was a young blonde girl (must of been 18/19) who made our service a great one! thanks spice tandoori lossie for a great meal. We did visit on a Saturday night in March ( 6 of us ) the staff were not having the best of nights - however when food came we were not disappointed and the staff remained pleasant throughout and were apologetic

Had takeaway that took 40 minutes longer than the 40 minutes they said it would be. Got it home, one main meal missing, chips cold,rice cold, nans cold. I live 2 minutes from this place. If you really want an Indian meal and you are in the area, fly one in from Delhi, it will probably be quicker and warmer when it arrives. Actually went back to pick up the missing meal and was made to wait another 40 minutes.......least they are consistent!
