As tasty as usual but WAY too much oil in the King Prawn Dopiaza, if the next order is the same, we'll be changing to another Indian takeaway.

Absolutely gorgeous food again from Spice Library, only place we will order from now . My favourite is the Minty Lamb , and there’s plenty of veggie options . Super quick delivery on a Friday night too , can’t fault them .

I went to this place with some friends after seeing it on tik Tok. Initially the set up was really nice The decor was very warm. The starters I had was a prawn puree which was okay l. I had a special which had seekh kebab, chicken Tikka lamb Tikka and king prawn l. Unfortunately 2 of the curries looked and tasted the same. Service was really friendly.

Its just been took over by new management but the food is better than ever ive been to a lot of indians but none compare to this place

We were kindly invited in January as a party of 4, to sample the delights of this seemingly popular curry house based in Mexborough, and we all really enjoyed our experience including the tasty food, and lovely service we received. This restaurant has a vast menu that you might typically find at a British curry house, including a wide range of starters, Tandoori, curries, traditional and a signature collection, sides and a decent Vegetarian selection. The price range here is reasonable and around what you would expect at a similar Indian Restaurant with curries averaging around the £9/10 mark, therefore their Sunday & Wednesday offer is definitely value for money. We enjoyed some delicious food including; Onion Bhajis – 3 decent sized Bhajis. Mixed Kebab – all great, the Sheek kebab especially, with a decent hint of spice. Spice Library Special; mouth-watering spicy curry consisting of lamb tikka, tandoori chicken off the bone, chicken tikka and meatballs all cooked to perfection in a spicy sauce. “Medium to Hot” – in Ben’s opinion (someone who does like very spicy food and has a fairly high tolerance) said this wasn’t spicy BUT that it was really tasty and the meat was very tender. The meatballs in particular were really good. Keema India; Mixed keema, chicken tikka and potatoes cooked together with green chillies. Medium – a really yummy curry with big chunks of meat and potato. Very filling. Goa Green Chicken Curry – the greenest curry I’ve ever seen!! But went down really well. Chicken Passanda; Chicken tikka cooked in a sweet creamy dish made with coconut flour, cream, sugar and mango sauce – a mild but flavoursome dish. The Garlic and Peshawari Naan breads were lovely to scoop up the saucy curries. The atmosphere here is decent and the service was also good. We enjoyed our visit as a group of two couples on a Sunday evening, and the place filled up with families, including children, and friends alike which was great to see. This restaurant is open Tuesday to Sunday evenings, and there is parking nearby. For takeaways, you can order direct from Spice Library’s website with 10% off all collections, or via FoodHub.

Very sad indeed , only had 3 experiences with this company , ate in and they forgot my meal entirely , second time had takeaway was 2 hours late , this evening arrived very watery and tasteless , won’t be trying it again sadly I’m sure they are a good bunch .

Great food, since being taken over the meat is more tender and top staff. Really good value on Wednesday and Sunday when they have an offer on.

Four of us have just had a meal at the Spice Library, I can honestly say it was the best curry we've had in a long time. Attentive service and excellent value for money. We'll be back soon.

We visit the Spice Library regularly. Either as a couple, a family or with friends. The reason for this is we always receive amazing service from the efficient and friendly staff, the prices are very reasonable and most of all the food is absolutely excellent! We have never had a bad meal. Always recommend and would always continue to return. In our opinion the best Indian Restaurant in the area. Thank you guys, keep doing a fabulous job.

Yet again we have had a lovely meal from the Spice Library. It’s not just the food, all of the staff are so nice too. As I walked to the door a member of staff saw me coming and opened the door for me.Asked how I was, had i had a good day? What had I been up to etc etc so made to feel right at home. The food was amazing too.

Very disappointed with the team and management at Spice Library. They have lost a loyal & regular customer of many years because of their greed, showing lack of respect for their loyal customers in these challenging Financial Times Charged £30 per head rather than the usual £13.95 for their so called festive set meal. (Christmas day price on NYE?) The extortionate extra cost was basically for a piece of cheesecake, and 1 piece of cheesecake to share between 2 at that !!! Booked a couple of days in advance for NYE (not told of the inflated festive cost when booking) Arrived at reception area, still not told of inflated cost!!! Only when seated were we told of this festive set meal cost. I thought it was a joke, honestly I did!!! Only reason I didn’t up and leave was because I didn’t want to embarrass my family. So disappointed, left a bitter and nasty taste in mouth and feeling I had been robbed Will NOT be back - shameful greed Goa Spice or Cafe Naaz for us in the future

Celebrated my sisters birthday here with all the family. Over 20 of us! My first time here and wasn't disappointed will definitely be back soon. Lovely surroundings, great food in plentiful supply and such a bargain as we had the set meal which didn't mean small portions like some places. Staff very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Worst biryani and pilau zero taste. If someone is going to eat it for the first time in his life, then it may seem good to them, but as a biryani lover, i will never suggest the biryani at any cost. if the restaurant want me to make some and let them taste that, i will for sure just make them aware of what actual biryani should taste.

Never again. Waited 2 hours for food to arrive. Phoned the restaurant was told it would arrive in 10-15 minutes. Didn't arrive until 30 minutes later with items missing!! Possibly the worse nan I ever had. Avoid

As curry goes these are pretty standard and not the greatest quality. I wouldn’t recommend spice library if you are wanting authentic curry as they bulk cook the sauces which unfortunately leads to a very generic taste. Staff are nice enough but could do with more hands on deck so customers aren’t left waiting for long periods of time.

Amazing, delicious dishes. Wouldn't go anywhere else! Best Nan Bread and mint sauce in a 100 mile radius!! Currys are so authentic. A must try! My only "complaint" is they aren't open 7 days a week!

The onion bhajis are the best I've ever had and that goes for the popadoms too. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The food generally is awesome and a pleasure to eat. Unfortunately access is via a lot of steep steps Which I found difficult. Younger able bodied people should manage quite well. The music was very loud but the place is very popular, all tables were full within the hour and the general noise drowned out the music :-)

Sorry to have rate so low but received terrible service placed the order online 4.30 got the email back saying we would receive the order by 6.15. Called to say this is too late, the answer was that they were having problems with the fans they would call me in 45 mins with a time. They never did! I called again at 6.20 asking where our meal was? The manager said will be 15 mins again saying problems with the fans to cut a long story short after calling numerous times the meal finally got to us 7.30 with 1curry missing! I would have asked for a refund and gone elsewhere if after the first call they just told me the truth that I wasn’t getting my meal on time. Hate being fobbed off!

Order every weekend & the food is always fantastic. However, the last 2 occasions, the food has been over an hour early & cold. We didn’t receive any dips to accompany the pickle tray or food. Really disappointed

Visited the Spice Library this evening (26/12/21) the place ticked all the right boxes. The staff were so welcoming and their service top draw. The food was excellent and the best curry that I have had for quite some time. We will definitely call again next time we visit family in the area.

We visited this restaurant with family members on a recent trip from Gran Canaria. The staff were extremely welcoming, friendly and polite. The food was excellent and really good value for money. Well worth a visit if you are ever in this area. Thankyou Spice Library.

Never got to know how good or bad the food was. Turned us away at the door at 10pm. A curry house! What has the world come to.

It’s my first time eating at Spice Library and I must say that the food here is 10/10 with there flavoursome dishes as the name of the place states. The staff here are also very polite and they immediately tend to the customers when they are summoned. The coffee and tea here is also great as they serve it according to how you want it. Overall I will give the business 5 stars but it is a shame that I do not have the option to give anymore than that.

My first visit and not that impressed..service was poor, more concerned about the delivery rather than the customers on the premises .starters were not cooked and had to be returned, main course was ok no depth of flavour. And both main courses didn't arrive together. Waited a a further 5 mins . No deserts or coffees offered. Better places to eat and enjoy yourself.

Ordered a take away tonight. With us all been vegetarian we normally find it difficult to find restaurants to cater for us. Came across this place plenty of variety and options. We went for the paneer tikka Masala and paneer tarkari. Both very nice well...

Brilliant food and atmosphere. Friendly staff and perfect social distancing measures in place. The curries always taste amazing and even if you choose the same dish it will usually be a little different depending on the chef. Great for all appitites and ages (from children to grandparents) I recommend the Murroshi Khas.

Recently ordered from this place and it was inedible, left a review on food hub explaining the problems with our order which they then deleted.. do not order from this place, the food is terrible and their manners are appalling!!

Reasonable curry and friendly staff. Most of their offerings are a bit on the sweet side and have somewhat of a sameness to them but considering their audiences and the area its OK for an evening out with friends. Taking your own booze is a benefit financially to any alcohol junkies but they can supply soft drinks if required. They have well spaced out tables, some screens and a one way system. We also didn't have to leave any track and trace information although this may have been taken when the table was initially booked.

Shocking service! Placed an order online using their website at 7.15pm, then called to chase delivery at 8.30pm to be told it would be with us any minute. Rang back up again at 9.20pm to be told the delivery ticket didn't print properly. So we cancelled the order. Have ordered from here for awhile now, at least once a week, but for the last few orders either the food was below usual standard or in today's case hasn't even arrived! Will be using Goa Spice in future 👍

Excellent meal cooked to order a good variety.Staff very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. My only misgiving is that it only accepts cash would be better to accept cards. Brining your own drink is a definite plus

We had a lovely visit. The staff were very attentive. Unfortunately after our poppadoms pickles and very filling starter.! We decided we were full even though we had already ordered our mains.. they had no problems in putting them in take out dishes . We enjoyed quite a few drinks ( which u have to bring urself) we were not made to feel in a rush to leave our table and were made very welcome ! The chicken tikka & rice with garlic nan I had taken away, was lovely by the way & would definitely visit again.. not too much ghee oil used in the dishes which is sometimes very off putting and oily. Food delivered. Chips were black cold and old. Korma tasted like its only ingredient was coconut, rice sempt under cooked. Chicken was really dry. Asked for a tika masala and got a tika korma. Onion baji is completely tasteless. Really disapointed and not ordering again

Went with a friend for a meal catchup, very good service, and prices, we had soft drinks this time but you can take your own which helps you control your budget..I have been to restaurants were the drinks bill was almost as much as the food bill.

I ordered a take out, well I have many times. not long since they did make a mistake with my order giving me all of the food and sides except the actually curry when i drove down the road and they realised the mistake they correct the error and part reimbursed me very good customer service.

Booked 15 at short notice and they catered very well for our party. Food was excellent, well served and very tasty. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Good clean place. They even played happy birthday when they brought out a birthday cake we had supplied for my daughter's birthday. Would recommend for large parties.

Ordered a delivery, came after 2 hours and 10 mins and was cold. Came to £26, gave the driver £40 and he gave me £4 and started walking away. Never again.

How can you charge the same price for take away as you do eating in!? Usually price for take away is around £32 for what we have, yet your poor driver just turned up with a bill for £52!

Quality food and great portion size. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Also is BYOB so can save on buying alcohol and they will provide bottle openers etc. Only little thing I would say to critique it; it isn't very warm in there in the winter so make sure you wear a jumper

Took a bit of a punt on the Spice Library as I was staying with a couple of colleagues nearby for work.

We went on Saturday, 10 of us, we always enjoy eating here. It tastes lush and we love the fact you can take your own beer

We visit every month or so. The staff are polite and friendly, the restaurants décor is good and the place is spotlessly clean. They will also adapt the food to your taste. One major advantage is The Spice Library has no dinks licence so it is a case of “Take-Your-Own”! The bill for four of us on Wednesday (Poppadum’s and pickles, three starters, four mains, two rice and two nans plus three coffees) was £42.50!
