I ordered my food online, over £50, they took my money, I waited for my order, nothing, I called - they didn’t answer, 40 minutes later I drove to the restaurant- it was shut…. All you had to do was put a message on your website and notify your order app provider - we’ve been coming to you for years and you’ve really let us down

Raj and the team make delicious, top restaurant quality food. As a vegan, the choice is fantastic, especially the options to have Masala and Korma dishes that are normally not offered from other takeaway restaurants.

Wow what can i say, this is the first time i decided to try and have an Indian takeaway from this company. I ordered online at 8pm for a ASAP delivery service instead of choosing a time. After waiting an hour i called up at 9pm, guy on phone said its out for delivery, near 40 minutes later, food delivery arrives, 20 minutes before they close at 10pm Food is below average but warm on arrival, didn't taste at all what it meant to taste. But very poor service so be prepared

Don’t order from here on a Friday night unless you want to wait over 1.5 hours for your food. I ended up making some toast and going to bed.

Despite the fact that the food was delivered late it was as usual exquisite! The delivery driver was very apologetic and made the experience extremely enjoyable! Food 10/10, delivery 8/10, customer service 11/10 I will use again!!

Easily the best Indian in Saffron Walden, quick delivery and reasonably priced. The dishes I have tried so far have all been flavourful and I am sure that i will remain a loyal customer.

Absolutely delicious 10/10. The vegan tikka masala is exceptional, the onion bhaji’s are divine, the rice is perfection. Considering moving to be within the delivery radius because we got it by accident when we aren’t actually in the radius AND IT WAS STILL HOT WHEN IT CAME! Best Takeaway Ever! Highly recommend

Absolute no show with our food. There phones don’t ring avoid Indian takeaway at all cost.

I've been visiting the area for a few days and had been having trouble finding good vegetarian food. Thankful they delivered to where I'm staying! Great value.

The food is great but they are let down by the delivery service. The website will say 55 mins expected delivery but in my experience it is generally around 2 hours and the food is luke warm. The poor delivery has put me off from ordering again.

Some unusual speciality dishes as well as the usual options. We love the flavours and quite generous portions.

Terrible service !! Ordered from this place for the first time waited 2 and half hours for food and when I called to chase I was told by a really rude person that I was too far anyway and should order from elsewhere ….still awaiting a refund too !

Chicken tikka masala was a tomato and coconut paste with no liquid, jalfrazi was a tasteless curry sauce, tough chicken. I did complain but no response. Do not recommend when much better restaurants in the area.

Ordered 4 times in the last 3-4 months. Very hit and miss. First order was great, second one wasn’t so great and the vegetable curry that came with the Biriyani tasted of washing up liquid and was inedible. Third was ok but delivery took ages, the 4th was a total disaster, decided to collect due to how long the previous order took and booked a pick up slot online, arrived to find I would have to wait another 20 minutes. Got home unpacked the food and it was stone cold?? How is this possible?? The only thing warn was the chicken tikka. Both the peshwari and keema nann were cold and lacking filling or flavour as was most of the meal. We threw most of it away, called to give feedback but not sure they really cared. We won’t use again in the future.

Amazing food, flavours and dishes you don't see elsewhere and lots of interesting original bits. Meat is always amazing quality and haven't had anything we haven't liked the taste of so far. Abdul's special daal is mindblowing, Nehar's delights for a sweet pudding are a must!!

Excellent food (and it has been on other orders) but very slow delivery on a Friday night. Nearly 2 hours from order to doorstep, despite chasing after 1 hour 15 mins. Website said 55 mins.

Very good service. Delicious food. Especially liked the manchurian lamb and the lentil fritters. We're not experts but I think it's up there for authenticity. Like others have said the food was not over oily and was layered in flavours.

Has to be one of the best Indian food I’ve ever had! Definitely must try The Mushroom & Tamarind Rice , Abdul's Special Biryani and Abdul's Special Daal were exceptionally outstanding

Tried this take away Indian when staying Air bnb in Safron Walden. It was difficult to find so would advise to book delivery in advance. Excellent take away,highly recommend. Food really tasty and so many different dishes to try.

Absolutely smashing food, speedy delivery from a lovely smiley man. Good value and excellent quality food. My partner had the Ghurka’s Revenge - pretty spicy! I had a mixture of different starters and sides. All cooked to perfection. Highly recommended.

Ordered by phone from a helpful guy. We live in an outlying village so I was surprised and pleased when he said they'd deliver for only £2. The food arrived within five minutes of target (well done!) and was still remarkably hot. It all went down well. If I had any criticism it would be that the chilli heat in the medium dishes sat "on top" of the underlying flavours rather than blending with them. The dishes were not greasy - a plus point for some people - which may go some way to explaining the phenomenon as oil does help to consolidate heat and flavour. Also the sag paneer (spinach with cheese) was a mash-up of the two main ingredients and tasted of condensed milk. I know it's a recognised way of preparing this dish but is not my favourite. Otherwise the meal was a success and I'd be happy to order again from the Spice Kitchen.

Short story: Excellent takeaway. Excellent service. Amazing food and friendly driver. Definitely best curry house in the area that actually delivers to our address. Long story: We used to order from another curry house that we really enjoyed, but we are rather out of the way. After the initial fuel shortage this year, they stopped delivering our way all together which was such a shame. Spice kitchen popped up on my facebook, and although we have often had many disappointing curries from recommendations from fb, we were brave and tried our luck. I'm so glad I bit the bullet. 10/10 never ordering from anywhere else again!

Possibly the worst curry I’ve ever had.

Food was ok but the chicken was meh at times and the naan we had paid for was missing from the delivery. Would be nice if the chicken was better quality and to make sure the order is correct. Bag charge, service and delivery all adds to the cost and out of pocket for £3.30 for that naan. What can you do? Also I worry about the 5 star reviews from a odd name and that is the only review they have ever done? Has someone been buying reviews?

Indian takeaways are always plentiful and often rich in taste, but I can honestly say the quality of Spice Kitchen's takeaways is excellent. It's right up there with some of the best Indian takeaways I've had. Not super-oily like some, and it really feels carefully home-cooked. And, strangely, you didn't even pay a noticeable premium on price. Highly recommended.

First time eating from here, last time changing my choice of takeaway. The food here is full of colour and flavour. This is no fast food delivery service, this is a restaurant at your door. Portion sizes were perfect and the team are great. 5 stars from us.

I think this is the fourth or fifth time we've used Spice Kitchen so can now confidently say the food is consistently excellent. As well as the standard favourites there are also plenty of dishes that are a bit different to the usual run of the mill. So far always received everything hot and on time. Highly recommended.

Had a truly wonderful meal this evening, the food was very tasty with the right amount of spices, the portion sizes are very good. We love this food! We tried Nehars delights for the first time- very yummy was the verdict of our little one. Great service too- lucky to have this gem on our doorsteps

I would throughly recommend the spice kitchen in Saffron Walden . The food was great, tasty aromatic beautiful looking and to say nothing of the smell . They give big helpings it lasted my husband two days he said its the tastiest takaway ever and Reasonable price. They even offered my a meal with out spices or garlic as I myself have allergic , I was gutted when I saw the food it looked yummy.

Amazing food. Clearly cooked to order as it tastes fresh, balanced and aromatic. Really full of flavour and every dish tastes unique. The 'Gurkha Revenge' is just the right heat level for me. Hot, but not insane! Great portion sizes too. No freezer bag veg in sight either. Absolutely delicious.

Our first time ordering & it will not be the last, ordered online & payed with Paypal & it was so easy to do. My wife & i enjoyed the best Curry we have had for many years. Very good would recommend! The chicken tikka bryani was very nice and was more traditional than other places in town, reminded me of pakistan 🇵🇰 the tandoori chicken is cooked so nicely no pink bits and extremely succulent the only thing I would say is that the flavours a bit flat would be nicer with maybe more salt and marinated differently, but aside from that it was amazing defo best in the area!!!! Another big plus is it’s halal unlike most places in town so I’m very happy with my order and will 100% be ordering again!!!

Amazing takeaway, available for collection or delivery. I did struggle to find it the first time, however go past the Posh Wash (almost to the end) and you’re there. You then go inside a single white door and it’s the first location on the left!

Ordered from here twice. Delivery 20 minutes over time estimate on both occasions. Food generally is very tasty but masala seems to be lacking something. Items missed off last order. That said, the customer service was excellent
