Terrible service, booked a table for 12 two stated that they had a food allergy which could be catered for, at the restaurant the staff member was rude and unhelpful, their menu stated that to let staff know if allergies too. Staff member basically didn’t care and was rude about it too. The two members had to leave and eat elsewhere as a result. Rubbish service, terrible customer interaction and just rubbish all ‘round. I would not use this restaurant or advise others to do so either. Totally misrepresented and probably false advertising. Avoid

Just called for my friends birthday and asked politely for a delivery. I was told very rudely no deliver we are too busy, I asked when would delivery be available. He hung up the phone. Very rude. Won’t calling them again.

Passing through Gt Dunmow 7pm Sunday evening, 3 of us stopped here for a bite to eat. Quiet and comfortable. Only 1 other table occupied. Staff very pleasant. The Royal Biryani was fantastic. Surprised to get a tandoori chicken 1/4 on a side plate with it, and even more surprised to find a whole boiled egg buried in the rice. The Keema Naan bread was also excellent - smelled and tasted delicious. Thankyou.

Disgusted. Booked on Wednesday for Friday for 5 people and when we turned up no table available nor in diary. No apology offered, only “I wasn’t in on Wednesday” Luckly Jalsa Ghar accommodated us. Even when shown evidence of phone call (correct number) practically called us liars

Good but basic restaurant. Not the fastest service Ive ever experienced. Still there might have been issues I was not aware of....

Been to the Balti Spice quite a few times over the past couple of years, it's a great little restaurant. Great food, friendly staff and excellent service.

Best Indian restaurant in Dunmow by far. Food is good service, well presented, nice and tasty. Unlike some others in the area where dishes seem to all taste the same and only vary in colour and texture. Also the tables are not cramped unlike some others where there isn't enough room to put food on the table.

Railway lamb/chicken fantastic!

We have been using this restaurant since it opened (can't remember what year) both as a couple and with larger groups (up to 12) and this is quite simply the best Indian restaurant for miles. The menu is wide and varied with with the food consistently of a very high standard with both the quality of ingredients (meats, fish, vegetables, pulses, rice and breads) plus the spice levels available being spot on. When I ask for a madras, they cook a madras (unlike other local restaurants). The cleanliness is very high and the service polite, attentive and friendly with special mention to Shumon and Aezal - two top guys with ready smiles and time for a chat. I can't see why you would go to any other Indian restaurant in the area. The Balti Spice is highly recommended.

When to pick up. Tried to charge me £71 for a £30 order. Realised they messed up only to say, we haven't got your order. Then proceeded to ask me to wait for 25 minutes, in top on the 50 minutes we already waited.....poor. MESSAGE FOR COMPANY DISPUTING US HAVING INTENTIONS TO PAY. My wife ordered the food. They said it would be 50 minutes for delivery. She asked is it quicker to pick it up, you said 40 minutes, so she said yes. I went to your store 45 minutes after when the above happened. Your staff said we have no order for you, then asked me to wait 25 minutes. I said no we will get something quicker Fast forward 1hr and 15 minutes later after ordering, your driver showed up at the door. We already got other food by then. (as she stated we would pick it up) So please believe, me getting in my car and driving to your shop is more than enough to show I had the intention to buy. Thank you

Great service, very accommodating. Children were well looked after and treated very well. The menu is broad, and includes dishes you'd otherwise not come across at an Indian or Bangladeshi restaurant. The waiting staff are happy to suggest dishes, too. Prices right where you'd expect around the area. Recommended.

Ordered late Sunday night after arriving at Travelodge from Wales. Ordered just before closing time but they were still very accommodating and delivered to travelodge to us. The food was excellent, the delivery driver was friendly. Recommended.

First time using and can honsetly say best curry house in great dunmow. Staff really friendly and nice hot food. I rang through and given a time slot. no waiting about. Looking forward to a sit down when we can. My parents travel for pick up from great leighs as they think the same as me.

Tonight was the 1st time I've eaten from here, after telling a colleague I was craving a decent Indian she highly recommended balti spice. Well I can say she was not wrong I've not had a decent Indian like that in a while and the lamb I ordered was lamb!!👌5⭐ just for the lamb.The staff was welcoming and a delight. Highly recommended this restaurant. Reasonably priced for amazing food.

Top restaurant in town providing high quality food and reasonable priced to. Would recommend to take away and also eat in but their menu inside has a few treats that can only be ordered when eating in.

Nice take away. Have been going to this place for couple of years now, taste has not changed much but quantity has gone down considerably.

Worst place I’ve ever eaten at. One member of staff was taking photos of us. Slow service, we had to ask for the bill 3 times before we received it. Don’t eat here.
