Spice Hut in Derby

Used to be a great kebab place but the order we had today was horrendous. Chicken meat was littered with bones I managed to eat a quarter of the kebab and found 4. Never again unfortunately

Just had delivery to my truck and wow food was hot tasty and very morish definitely order again well done team cracking good food

Been using this takeaway for a long long time since 1990's. Never had problem with their food, service or attitude. Good bunch of people

Ordered here yesterday kebabs very good quality and big portions pizza was also good quality only little nag I have is the chips needed a couple of extra minutes in the fryer.

About time they had some up to date menu's printed and not use the ones from April 2022 with all the wrong prices...

Been going here for years and I must say last nights pizza was awful the donner meat was like rubber you couldn’t pull it apart terrible food won’t be ordering again

Gone downhill fast come a few months ago and thought great kebab fries and can of pop 8 quid something went back the other day 11 and a half quid the kebab meat was not fresh off the spit like before but been stored in a hot pot and was like rubber. On top of that the portion size of meat had gone down. Luckily I have found a really top place 10 mins away called mcturks now these kebabs are the real deal would recommend you skip this place and go directly to mcturks if ur after a kebab in derby

Great food and fast service. Highly recommend the curry and kebabs best by far in the area. Delivery normally very quick, Web ordering is easy.

Meal was awful , no flavour no seasoning absolute plain food amd so not worth the money

I collected food from here late at night the only reason I chose the SPICE HUT is because they was 1 of only 2 or 3 takeaways places still open, I went on the food hygiene certificate these had 5⭐️‘S and the others only had 3⭐️‘S. WHEN I TURNED UP TO COLLECT MY FOOD I WAS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED WITH THE STATE OF THE PLACE THE STAFF WHERE UNPLEASANT SCRUFFY AND HAD A BAD ATTITUDE THERE WAS FOOD ALL OVER THE FLOOR AND I SHOULD OF LEFT MY ORDER UNPAID & WALKED AWAY (lesson learned) I GOT HOME ME & THE MRS WAS REALLY HUNGRY SO WE ATE MOST OF THE VERY POOR QUALITY FOOD THE RICE WAS SOGGY AND FILLED MY PLATE WITH WATER THE LAMB BHUNA WAS TASTELESS & WATERY. NEXT DAY BOTH ME AND MY WIFE WAS UNWELL WITH BAD GUTS AND SPENT MOST OF THE DAY ON AND OFF THE TOILET. Need I say anymore? Avoid this place like the plague and ignore their hygiene rating, I run my own bar & restaurant so understand how it all works & I know how a bad review can be damaging, but this is well deserved, hopefully they’ll get a visit from the local council food standards agency.

They have great experience in making English curries and pizza and doner love them

Food is amazing.constantly going back after a long day at work! The service is amazing aswell if I could rate it more I would ! Forever will be my goto takeaway. Definitely recommend

Reasonably priced food and good service. Kebab box meal for one is good value

I m a regular customer there. Used to be good before. Now Its gone worse. I drove there for a cheeky Doner meat on tray with chips. Came home opened it up. Only thing warm were chips. Kebab was too cold. I saw the worker there packing their food. Then taking it to their kitchen and microwaving everything. The doner kebab grill was shut already. Even i knew my doner kebab was going to be cold coz its not the first time This has happened. But i was hungry so i came home microwaved it. When i saw my kebab being prepared with chips. The kebab they took out from hot tray ddnt even have hot steam Or anything. I am not going back sorry brothers

Ordered from here last night, same order we have had on several occasions. Last night's offering gave myself and my partner chronic squits. We won't be ordering again.

Ordered our usual pizza and garlic bread last night. Bases undercooked and like raw dough in parts. Topping nearly liquid and just slid off. Massively greasy, probably down to the different cheese they seem to be using recently (hence the piece of greaseproof paper in the bottom of the box that never used to be there?). Within an hour of eating I had the most horrendous guts ache and had to run for the loo. God knows what 'extras' were put in our food but we won't be buying from here again.

First night in Derby and we were looking for something to feed a big family of 5. The owner was super helpful, assured us that Mix 7 will be sufficient for the family. And wow it was great. He was also very sensitive to our dietary requirements and was happy to accommodate us. We previously had donner from elsewhere which the kids did not enjoy, but they thoroughly enjoyed this one. We will definitely be back. Good value for money

Ordered chicken Shish kebab with all salad and portion of fries… majority shocking… Shish was nice.. chicken tikka disgusting..looks like off the bone an rock hard!! Fries were Luke warm and tasteless. Salad.. well.. got onion, tiny bit of lettuce and slice of cucumber!! Safe to say we won’t order from here again and this was our first time! Extremely disappointing and I also had to speak to 2 different ppl to place the order???

Had a kebab chicken tikka donner mix large and finally I convinced myself you can't get a decent kebab in Alvaston or surrounding areas. So my advice is don't even try to waste your money on kebab here it just not worth it rather order chinese👌 Tasteless kebab, donner wasn't that bad but chicken tikka🤮 Guess it's cooked from frozen coz meat is tasteless and dry as f*%#. Naan is tastless too🙈 Supposed to have all of the salad and had only two peaces of tomato and probably 300g of onion🙈 However onion wasn't too bad🤣 Glad I had some chips with this disaster👍 DO NOT ORDER KEKBABS FROM HERE🤮

Poor level of customer service all-around

Orderd online for delivery and arrived 2 hours later after I had to ring to find out where it was they had missed the order finally arrived and was the worst kebab I've ever had from there was cold and the meat was dried up very poor they lost a regular order

Just had the most amazing chicken tikka donner mix and the BEST curry sauce ever and that says something. Thankyou.

Spice Hut.. Tonight I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Pilla Rice & Garlic Nan.. All I can say give them a try you won't be disappointed the taste and quality of food Fantastic.. The Deliver to Spondon and The Royal Derby Hospital as you know what hospital foods like, hence I order from them every other day..

Ordered a meal for the first time from this place. I ordered King prawn korma this was like water and not very nice that went in the bin. My husbands meal chicken tikka masala also not tasty better from Aldi as a ready meal that also went in the bin

Staff really friendly! Food was nice...but they forgot my sauces on my kabab! 🙄

Friendly service and great food, plenty of meat and fresh salad, only minor complaint is higher quantity of sauces required, although I dare say if I'd have asked for more sauce they would have gladly provided it. So perhaps a 4 1/2 stars.

Just had the most amazing double cheeseburger, charcoaled with fresh salad, absolutely top noch we would not go anywhere else and the lads are brilliant too 👌 and had a rogan josh earlier and you seriously can't beat this place

Decent kebab, get what you ask for and a large choice.

Just had the lamb karhi with rice and naan. Generous portions, lovely flavour and the naan was really good. Will be back :)

Poor quality of food. The chicken was raw how can you mess up chicken.

Got there for 7pm to find they didnt have any change to give me back so had to say they could keep it and then to find when they made my kebab they told me they hardly had salad. I mean 7pm, just opened!! What the hell!! £9 and told I couldn't have what I wanted when they had just opened up! Wont be returning!!!

Asked for the bab to be freshly cut and guy used old meat from metal tins. Chicken doner wasn't very tasty either. Very bland overall.

Normally really good but the last few times they have either got the order wrong . Burnt it . Or is not edible . When you call back there rude and the attitude is awful . Been going there for 15 years . Will never return again ( and is a shame )

Decent food, standard kebab shop fare

This is the fourth time they have got my order wrong. I said I wasn’t going to order from them after the second time but my husband persuaded me. I have ended up with a chicken tikka pizza and a hot & spicy pizza instead of a vegetable supreme. I have also ended up with food missing from my order & had to wait for another delivery on numerous occasions. I have contacted them to inform of their error & they have said ‘our next order is free’ however this hasn’t happened yet. I also make them read back my order to me (because they have got it wrong on numerous occasions) and they still get it wrong. I don’t think they deserve any more chances.

Very good take away use it quite regular always good portion sizes you get a lot for your money

Curries from here are highly recommended but kebab portions have been reduced but kept at the same price over the last few months.a little disappointing as this used to be my go to place.

Kebab was soaking in grease, and both pizzas were dryer than Ghandi's flip flop. Very disappointing.

Can't Fault them, i don't usually buy there meals. Bought a curry before my holiday told them i want a hot Madras. It was a Hot Madras! chicken wasnt marinated so the nice size pieces when just chicken inside but you can't fault them. Prices were not as bad as some places but still to my view when i can cook it for cheaper i think all takeaways are expensive..
