Hot Wok in Derby

We had a takeaway for hot wok, spondon, delivered. The chicken was so hard it was inedible, the black pepper sauce had never seen any black pepper, it was a dark coloured gravy. Tried to speak to them but they weren't interested. Awful experience and I can assure you that none of the family will be using them ever again

You can't go wrong with a meal for 2 at £23. You always get plenty of food, it's always hot and flavourful. Great meal and service - 3.7.24

Best Chinese in Spondon & Borrowash, we always buy beef chow mein, chicken chow mein, szechuan beef, mixed fried vegetables and pork yuk sung. The foods always hot, tasty and cooked very swiftly.

Ragley boat stop absolutely brilliant social distancing. Great food and staff. 3 people were asked to leave for not social distancing keeping everybody else safe. Thank you

Used to use this place all the time but reckon its changed hands. Ordered special chow mein and it was all liquid, and onions. Hardly any meat or noodles, we left most of it. Won't be ordering from here again.

I Ordered from here on Sunday 16th October 2022. I was very Disappointed with the food when it arrived. I Can Confirm that Items were missing from my order & the Items what did come were stone Cold. I Contacted Foodhub where I ordered this from/Off & Foodhub Contacted the Takeaway & she said that ALL my Items was packed & Received in my order (I Won't Recommend this Chinese takeaway to anyone Nor Will I ordered again from here)

Just ordered from here for the first time, and I won’t be ordering again. Food was very bland. No flavour in any dishes that we ordered. For £34.80 I am very disappointed and waste of money as it has gone in the bin. Wouldn’t even feed it my dog, DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!

I think this is the best Chinese takeaway in derby I would not go anywhere else

Food arrived at our door 10 mins from ordering, tasted delicious and good serving size plus they gave us some free prawn crackers!

Eating here for years no issues then ordered on Saturday Different menu and website, not sure if it’s been take over? Food tasted different Then middle of the night, within 15 mins of each other both children were I’ll. the shared a chicken curry and egg fried rice. Won’t be eating there again Such a shame

The food was good but the customer service was appalling. I ordered 2 egg fried rice and 1 Yung chow fried rice. When the food arrived 2 hours later (an hour late) I found that they had only given 1 egg fried rice. I called up but the lady seemed argumentative as if I was in the wrong for them not delivering all of our food 🙄. They agreed to deliver the missing rice, but when it arrived (after another 2 hours and me me and my family had finished eating) we found that they had only delivered us 1 more egg fried rice. Needless to say, my son was very disappointed about his favorite food being missing from his birthday meal. Aside from that, it was quite tasty 😋.

My mother ordered food , they came with the wrong food , when my mother called them the woman on the phone Instantly started shouting and said “I gave you the correct food “ after my mum being a regular and said “no you didn’t in a nice manner “ the woman said if you want the correct food I have to charge you 2 pounds more and you have to come collect it , after more tipped the Delivery driver 2 pounds , mum said “it’s not my fault yoy gave me the wrong food “, the rude lady said fine she will come deliver it , after she gave my mum the correct order , she said “can she have the food back “ my mum showed her the food on the plate , the lady then said “yes it was wrong “ then asked my mum to scoop the food from the plate back up ! (Yes you heard me right !! , so my mum scooped the food back up and gave it the lady. I can’t believe how rude and vile she was and how vile they was , when they got the food wrong , even crazier asking for her to scoop it up during covid , like we was in a. Third war country , disgusting will be reporting 😂

I would never order from here again because the food was 1 hour late, cold and the curry sauce was more of a curry jelly. Overall I'll give them 1 star because the way I got my food as a consumer was appalling.

Food, service and quality are second to none, amazingly good flavours and generous helpings. Top quality and reasonable price, will be using this place again.

Rang multiple times no answer even orded online it took 30 minutes to say it had been cancelled must be something wrong with thier line

The reviews suggested it was going to be really good but they're either fake or people don't know what Chinese food is supposed to taste like. The portions we're good but the food was completely lacking in flavour. Genuinely it was really not tasty at all. The chips were over cooked. And I really wouldn't recommend this takeaway at all. I'll be trying elsewhere in future.

I am giving no stars due to them giving me food poisoning from the egg fried rice and chowmein It has made 3 other people who also ate it that night diarrhoea crunching stomach cramps and very bad sickness seen as I have been being sick for 4 days now and having to have prochlorperazine round 30mins before eating due to not being able to keep my food down I will be contacting health and safety as giving customers food poisoning as confirmed by a doctor needs to be looked into (and as ur ridiculous have to put a star so I have put a star to send my complaint through however I would like to reassure U I am giving no stars

Got my chinese here, told them again and again i want my curry not as thick but it is a horror, gluey curry sauce, soggy chow mein ....😰 I don't think I would go back again !

Really good, large menu with all the usual suspects on it as well as house specials. Incredibly fast delivery times and always hot. The large servings are very big and the hot dishes whilst not insanely hot are substantially spicy.

We have had takeaways from here for sometime, the last couple we have had got so bad that we will be going else where. The standard has totally droped and the value for money, well it's not there as we are not being given what we ordered. Avoid the Hot Wok like the plague and let your feet do the talking.

Food is good, great selection on menu, delivery or collection, if being delivered you need to be aware that you will wait up to an hour for delivery depending how busy they, portions are nice, crab claws are beautiful, nice greetings and freindly.

we have had takeaway quite a few times, the food tastes excellent but the only problem is the amount of MSG used ,we spend the rest of the night getting up out of bed to drink pints of water.might not go again

This used to be my favourite Chinese but the last couple of orders have not been up to standard. I enjoy a chowmein but the noodles have been soggy, cold and the barbeque sauce very runny and not much flavour.

I have been using this place for two years now, Has always been good quality, polite staff and quick delivery. I pointed out that the lids to the containers they used to put sauce would break easily on a carry out, and they changed the type they used. What more can you ask for?

Rotten pork balls that should of been chicken family of four ill for two days and the rest of the food was of very poor quality .The food was take back and shown black pork inside the batter they didn't seem to care so for everyone looking at going here re-think and spend that extra time to go somewhere else .
