Food was all cold and the curry containers were only half full. Wont order here again!

Amazing little place - hidden away in a little corner of broad stairs The curries were simply fantastic Ordered the chicken biryani and lamb jalfrezi with garlic Nan and Pilau rice. This is a lovely family run business and you can see the extra care they give out with the service ! Owner Bobby was always smiling and courteous and the waiter Monoy Miah was great in meeting our needs. This was not too far from the lovely beach surroundings and you can’t beat a lovely curry on a great summers day Will definitely return ! And shout out to head chef Ali ! Great spices and flavours ! Keep up the great work!

We decided to give it a try .when walking in we was greater with a very unpleasant view of a badly kept fishtank which was not pleasant to see .we were seated food didn't take long .was disappointed that food was not in bowls that were hot .plates to was not hot .price of food was more expensive than I think it should have been especially because the food was disappointed. Onion bhaji we were told that they are served as 3-4 it was a very disappointing 1 that was cut up and very disappointing flavours with the food .

Very good Indian restaurant does not have a alcohol license off licence about 2 mins away

This is has been our go-to Indian for about 6 years. Getting a bit hit and miss with the quality recently. Pilau rice was the latest thing, seemed mixed with boiled rice to cut cost…

Had sent the wrong food and when they said they’d resend it, they did not let us know when it would arrived so we called as this was another hour waiting and they still had no update, the lady then put down the phone on us which wasn’t professional. Really liked this take away before, however, very disappointed in this experience and had to get refund from JustEat.

Very disappointing mint dip was fizzy ! ,Nan under cooked ,we asked for well done ,chicken tikka tasless but unbelievable hot ,and odd slices of chicken ,not for us will try somewhere else next time

Was one of the best Indians over a couple of months ago but I’ve noticed recently it’s gone down hill. Doesn’t taste the same or have the same flavours it did before. Not impressed if I’m honest so I will be finding a new Indian. Such a shame!

We all loved the food and all had something different. My Murgh Masala was so tender and tasty and I chose the mushroom rice and a garlic naan. I cannot fault the food. The service was friendly and homely and although the restaurant is not one you might think of, it is well worth a trip and you save ££ with the drinks being excluded from the bill - as it's bring your own!

A better curry you will not find in Broadstairs,cooked to genuine recepies and ingredients,taste out of this world.

Early Friday evening treat save from having to cook,a takeaway meal for four was ordered from Spice Cottage,Tika Masla x2 Sagaloo X1 and a Passanda curry were ordered,asked to collect at six p.m.,on arrival at five to six greeted by the manageress very polite and helpful,checked which meal i had come to collect,then went to get from kitchen.A lovely young lady (Lilly) appeared with the meal and of i went seamless trouble free,the bonus was that at home we found a delicious hot meal which personally speaking i think was one of the best curry's i have had for a long time,highly recommend will be using as a regular takeaway from now on.

First, not all of my order arrived. They forgot to pack some of the chutney to go with the popadoms. I did phone and the lady was very apologetic buy it was still missing and I had paid for it. Delivery was within the time stated but wasn’t the warmest of takeaways when eaten. The food was very greasy and lacked a little flavour. Whilst not the worst curry I’ve had, I won’t be rushing back. So far Just eat has been very disappointing. I want them to improve standards and customer service and be responsible.

I asked the restaurant "why can't I find a hot madras? They're all tasteless." Spice Cottage promised me a REAL Madras. Best Curry I've tasted in months if not years. Thanks Spice Cottage. It was delicious.

I have visited and ordered food from Spice Cottage on many occasions. They always serve great tasting fresh food. Highly recommend them.

Booked for four Sunday 7pm, arrived on time. Every thing, puppadoms, 2 starters, and mains seemed to arrive to quickly ( no breaving space) which lead me to question preperation and cooking times??? We were all out by 8.05.

Had to go out down the St because the delivery driver was trying to deliver to wrong address, the food was bland the keema rice contained no keema both chicken dished looked and tasted the same!

What an amazing meal we had. The food was delicious never tasted better Indian food than here! Lovely waitress Betty provided us with great service and was brilliant at recommending food from the menu! Will definitely be returning!!

Never ordering from here again

Have visited the restaurant a few times now, but this is the first review I’ve written about it. The restaurant operates a Bring Your Own Booze (no corkage charge) policy. Food was really amazing, flavourful and delicious. I had Chicken Kashmiri, my wife had Prawn Biriani, we were both very happy with our choices. We dined a little early, 5pm so the restaurant wasn’t busy, we had a very nice chat with the owner/manager. Can’t fault the food or service, the decor is a little aged, but I really wouldn’t allow the appearance to put you off as the food more than makes up for it.

First time visit to the restaurant. What a gem it is!! We will be back many times now that we’ve found it. The food and service were both first class! Everything about the food was excellent quality, with very well balanced spices. My king prawn dish was a particular highlight for me, with more prawns than is usual, but also great quality, in a delicate Methi sauce. Add their policy of BYOB, with an incredibly modest £2 corkage, there is no wonder that this delight of a restaurant is incredibly popular with the locals!

First time visiting here No-one explained when booking over the phone that it is BYOB so it was very disappointing to have a meal without any alcohol ! This should be pointed out when booking so that you know to bring booze. The interior is very dark with dark walls (which are dirty), black tables and black chair covers. Felt like being in a dark (and dirty) cave. Tables didn’t have any table cloths and there were no napkins on tables. Looks like they were trying to save money in all aspects. The music playing was a woman screeching loudly (continually) which was not exactly enjoyable. The waitress was rushing us to make an order even though we had barely sat down and it wasn’t even busy which was annoying. You can hear all noises from the kitchen which often included the ‘bing’ of the microwave! Another downside was that at one point we were the only ones in the restaurant and then a table of four walked in and were placed on the table right next to us (tables are all crammed in and are about 3” apart). They had all the other free tables they could have sat them at! After that I could hear every word of the table next to us because the place was empty and it put us off our meal. Thankfully the food portions were good and the food was quite good (even if microwaved). It was also overpriced compared to other indians that we go to nearby. Won’t return

The food was cold and disgusting, I asked for lamb curry and got toofu, and had set meal for 1 included onion bajee that was over Cooked, so took it back to restaurant and spoke to manager, he was rude, paid 22 pounds, so want my money back.

Overall food was good and tasty. Only gripe is the onion bhajis were a little over cooked.

Really basic plain and most probably microwaved food. No fresh lamb and chicken or anything else for that matter. Had a belly ache within minutes. The Fanta was cold though which was a plus.

Ordered 2 dishes curry was absolutely flavourless and the Dan Zak was sour like gone off milk, very disappointing not to mention the onion bhajis were burnt, waste of money wont be ordering from here again.

Ordered mint sauce and it didn't come. Poppamdoms were reheated and inedible.

Came up from London to Broadstairs for the bank holiday weekend. Ordered a curry tonight. I think…Doesn’t really resemble any curries I’ve had before back in London. Everything was bland and tasteless from the okra to the chicken tikka masala to the prawn curry. Edible but just not enjoyable. They can keep a star because we had a good laugh when we opened up the mutter paneer to find no cheese in it, only to then realise that they’d used what I can only assume was mozzarella and it had melted into a big goopy cheese and pea mess. To be fair it was quite an interesting fusion dish, but definitely wasn’t a mutter paneer. Maybe the chef was having a but of an off day or it was just because it was a busy bank holiday weekend rush?

A very simple restaurant. Bring your own drinks which was not a problem . The food is superb , all the dishes had it's own unique flavour and colour It was piping hot and well cooked. Staff friendly.

Even though the food was 15 minutes late totalling 1hr 20mins the food was exceptional and would highly recommended.

Personally, it is the best Indian food in town. The owner of the restaurant ( Bader Al Zaman ) is so kind during Ramadan 2012. He was offering free Iftar ( Dates, Water and some traditional food), couldn’t forget his kindness.

I pre ordered the meal and it arrived exactly at the time I requested. The food itself was delicious, the same quality as when we have eaten in Spice Cottage, all in all it was a lovely meal.

Food took an hour and a half, food was lukewarm on arrival and 2 pieces of material in Madras Curry. Food was beautiful, just disappointed with wait time and material in food.

Nice food korma not too sweet like most takeaways do, very reasonable price, low delivery charge, could have been hotter but did come from Broadstairs to Cliftonville, otherwise excellent.
