SoWok Cottingham in East Riding of Yorkshire

Awful. Sweet and sour pork was as hard as anything and dry. Totally disgusting food. We usually use Empire in Willerby it’s far far better. Will not be going to So Wok ever again.

My local Chinese takeaway closed and so I have been looking for a new one to take it's place. Tried So Wok as was driving around and finding most places were closed but am so glad they were. The food here was great, in fact it was so nice even my daughter and her mum said "they're always going to get Chinese from there now" which is a feat as they are both extremely picky eaters!

Takeaway and probably the best in Cott. Love the Special Chow Mein. Fast service if you go as a walk in but due to popularity if you want delivery order 30 to 40 minutes before you want you meals.

Absolutely shocking! So sad as this used to be one of the best Chinese take aways around. We ordered wontons which my daughter loves but apparently this is just fried pieces of what resembles an Indian popadom. My aubergine dish was tasteless and one had this before and it’s been lovely. My partners prawn dish was also lacking flavour. The only thing which was worth eating were the noodles. Most people associated wontons with being dumpling parcels not fried sheets of a popadom type food. Very disappointing and a massive waste of £40!

Really disappointed. This place is usually good, but tonight they were super busy and rushing. Ended up with undercooked chicken and we had to throw most of the meal away. Won't be using this takeaway again.

My favourite Chinese takeaway in the area. The special fried rice is banging! I get it every week. Amazing with curry sauce

I’ve had a lot of Chinese over the years and even worked in one for 5 years but I’ve never seen a Chinese as oily as this. The beef satay had an oil shine to it and was the texture of water, no flavours to it really. The chicken in mushroom again no better, same oily shine to it and only tasted of salt. The only thing slightly better was the yellow bean dishes, this was a thicker sauce but didn’t really have much flavour aside from the spice. Onions were so rubbery they weren’t edible and the noodles were just wet. I’m the type of person to eat chow mein straight out the tub cause they’re usually so flavoursome and yummy. But these were just wet and limp and tasted of nothing. Was really disappointing overall and I can’t say anything was enjoyable. To know they’re happy to serve that amount of oil in food is shocking, for the price and the quality of the food I wouldn’t recommend. Only edible thing we got was the prawn crackers

Just had the tiger prawn fried rice with peas and spring onions, was delicious, cannot believe how many prawns I got, curry sauce was nice and spicy too, well worth the money 💰

We originally bought a delicious take out from the restaurant on Hallgate not realising they had a takeaway round the corner, as it was our anniversary and we'd had a few fizzes we gave SoWok a try. The staff were very polite and understood my wife perfectly despite being half drunk. The food arrived very quickly to Little Weighton, the delivery chap was very polite and professional, the delivery charge was very reasonable too. As for the food, it was delicious! We ordered far too much so have just finished it off tonight and it seemed even better! I highly recommend SoWok and we'll definitely be ordering from them again very soon.

Excellent service and food. We have used the delivery service for a couple of years and always get the meal on time. Food is very good quality and generous portions. Highly recommended.

One good meal one very bad The pic is chicken batter balls which was awful overcook batter and very dry chicken Worse sweet n sour I’ve ever had!!!!! Took the roof of my mouth off! Plz tell me u don’t know when the balls have been in fryer to long? You could bounce them off the floor!!! I know times are hard but seriously what chef would serve this rubbish up !,, The second dish was ok obviously been made fresh For the prices you charge shame on you so wok!,, Won’t use you again Be warned!!!!!

Cracking take away. Been back regularly, still fantastic. Went New Years 31/12/2021. Whilst it was busy still got my large order ready in 25 mins as promised and all was delicious. The team were answering the phone every 30 seconds and a flow of people picking their orders up. Impressive stuff.

Waited 20 minutes after my order time food was just ok

Having lived in Cott for 6 years and never trying so Wok we did a couple of months ago. The food was beautiful, and we've been going back. Tonight, however, was a different story. The Xiang dish didn't bear even a passing resemblance to what we had in this past. In was nice whilst it last, but we won't be returning.

A fine backup. No card machine and some of what we had was very bland. The spicy options seemed best here

Amazing food the customer service is brilliant I always buy the same or similar things but when I do buy from there the food is always top quality it's a little bit pricy but tottaly worth it for the standard of food. Recommend 100%

Have ordered the same meal many times and can honestly say tonight the food was awful, ordered Singapore chow mein extra spicy the noodles were bland and not cooked in any sauce at all definitely not Singapore chow mein , so disappointed and won't be ordering again

Good portion sizes and very tasty.

Food is excellent live north hull area asked for delivery came really quickly and still hot. Very good would recommend especially beef with green pepper in black bean sauce And special egg foo yung dish. Best I’ve had in a long time not salty like some takeaways. Always plenty.

Food tastes great here. Portions are very good. Only reason I deducted one star is that there was a time or two that the food wasn’t as good as it usually is.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS CHINESE! First of all the customer service was awful; we were spoken to so rudely on the phone. Secondly, we had to wait nearly 2 hours for it to be delivered and last but not least our food arrived and it looked absolutely revolting. The chow mein did not even taste like a normal chow mein, the chicken was under cooked therefore we did not eat any of it and they forgot one of our dishes! Please do not waste your time and money! Horrible!! Me and my partner got food poisioning the following morning! Do not go here!!!

Extremely rude delivery woman, takeaway was all greasy and cold, no sauce with bbq spare ribs and they where extremely dry. (Picture of chicken curry below) We called to complain, a bloke answered and was very rude, so took it back, they was rude again and argumentative. So went to see the manager in the restaurant who understood and agreed with us about the food, gave us a full refund and said next time order from the restaurant it’s noy the first time they’ve had this from the take away. Have eaten in the restaurant before and it’s always been great.

This is mine and the wife's best Chinese. We always order the same thing though as no one as beaten the taste yet. I highly recommend the Cantonese chicken with fried rice. The wife loves the Singapore noodles.

Used this Chinese a few time but myself and the two others i shared it with last night have suffered with sickness and diarrhoea all morning after ordering last night. Definitely will not be going here again. Not good especially when 30 weeks pregnant.

Would never use this place again staff so ignorant and rude and the food portions fit for a small child.they forgot some of our order after returning back to the shop to ask about it was ecused of taking food out of the bag basically theft and they still refused to correct it.

Do not go here! They got my order wrong and completely missed off the crispy duck I ordered. The woman refused to deliver me the duck they missed off. The rest of the food was disgusting. Hard fatty meat and watery bland sauces. If I could give no stars I would. This the worst Chinese take away I have ever been too! STAY AWAY!!!

We came here from Cambridge and are staying at skidby and ordered a take away from here and i have to say its the best i have ever tasted my wife is vegy and asked them to cook the tofu longer and it was devine , we will have to have another one before we go, thankyou

Really good takeaway Chinese food. The Singapore chow mein is pretty special. Home of the crispiest chips in all of Cottingham! The service is always speedy even when it's very busy on a weekend due to its popularity. If you can walk, don't drive to collect as parking is always a nightmare nearby.

Lovely food, beef can be a bit chewy sometimes though.
