Southern Fried Chicken in Blackpool

I visited Blackpool Pleasure Beach the other day and fancied a quick bite to eat between rides. Southern Fried Chicken is situated in a courtyard area, with a bar directly next door, opposite the dancing fountain walkway area. There is an outdoor seating area, with numerous tables and chairs and large unbrellas, that are shared with the bar next door. Considering that this is a quick bite restaurant at a busy theme park I was pleasantly surprised with what I found. I ordered a Chicken Combo meal - Fried chicken sandwich/roll with fries and a Coke Zero for £7.50, which I thought was a reasonable price. The food was ready in just a couple of minutes. The chicken sandwich was freshly cooked and nicely seasoned. The fries were decent - I added salt to taste. There was space to sit and eat at one of the several tables provided and there were staff cleaning up and wiping down between customers so no-one had to sit at a messy table. I enjoyed my short visit to Southern Fried Chicken - the place was clean and tidy, the food was freshly cooked and tasty and reasonably priced. I'll more than likely stop for food again the next time I'm at the Pleasure Beach.

Order took 30 minutes to make, other people after us got their food way before us. The hygiene is terrible in this place, workers biting their nails, scratching their face, dripping food and serving it, it’s just disgusting. Staff were miserable, customer service is non existent. Food is mediocre at best

In my opinion, This restaurant was disrespectful to a group of young people because of the race and the overall service was extremely bad with raw and uncooked food. A person called Coraline was the reason for this also she dropped my order because of her anger at the younger generation

Not a single smile in the place. Asked for a meal with a dietary requirement and was sourly responded to. Even after this, the food didn't meet my requirements. Food itself felt and tasted like cardboard heaped with salt.

The wrap was ok, would of rather had the lass who served me in a wrap though, talk about cute 😍 would come back just to see her 🤣

Chicken here is great, better than KFC. The only problem is to eat here you have to pay to get in the Pleasure Beach (£6) - we used to go in the Pleasure Beach just to eat here but not any more, only if we are visiting anyway.

Terrible food worst I have ever had ...it was like rubber and we paid money for it ....terrible I cant describe how disgusting it was.

I Ordered a chicken wrap from here, had a good 20 minute wait before actually getting the food. Once i actually looked at it i got 2 small pieces of chicken in it and the rest was all lettuce and coleslaw! My partner ordered the 5 piece meal and he got what looked like 5 pieces of popcorn chicken! I kid you not, I've seen nothing like it! I picked out the 2 pieces and ate the small fries and left! Disgusting.

Ate here during a visit to Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Food was mediocre, my partners chicken burger had far too much mayonnaise on whilst mine had been under the warming lights too long and was rubbery, dry and salty. The gravy was pretty basic Bisto type gravy as opposed to real chicken gravy. The girls had freshly made wraps and they were tasty. Next time I think I'll try somewhere else.
