Southern China in Stockton-on-Tees

Expensive. Bland and absolutely no meat in the salt n pepper beef dish I ordered The spring rolls had literally no filling. An absolute rip off!!!!!

Truly awful food. The worst take away I’ve ever had, most of it went in the bin. I definitely won’t be visiting again. The soup was ok but after that it was awful.

Disgusting chow mean, was supposed to be chicken but didn't even resemble that, huge portion, very expensive and tasteless,will not be revisiting, shame as its my loca one, I will spread the news and tell everyone to avoid

saturday night takeaway...got through instantly on the telephone....a bad sign.! The meal was delivered on time by a coughing unmasked driver, It was expensive,completely devoid of taste ,There was however generous portions, which were shared between the dog and the bin. The dog seems o.k this morning.

Thai green curries with rice and noodles, awful. Greasy and tasteless, no chilli no lemongrass no coconut milk, just a greasy liquid. Binned it. Would be zero stars but cant submit review without adding 1.

Thought I’d try this takeaway for a change from my usual Peking Chef, as I got a menu through the door and really fancied one of the dishes not available at my usual takeaway. It was ‘Chicken and shrimp Lao Gan Ma‘. A hot, chile based dish. I also ordered my usual Chicken Satay to compare. I ordered for delivery. The delivery was very quick, but they delivered chips instead of fried rice!. To be fair, they quickly delivered the rice once I called them. I got a couple of complimentary fortune cookies as ‘compensation’ (one had no fortune in!). The dishes were a bit disappointing really, the Satay, not as good as my usual and the other one not as tasty as I expected. The prawn crackers were a bit stale as well! The fried rice was also very dry and stale tasting! I was going to keep half the food for next day, but ended up discarding it. Oh, and I tried a couple of the chips, not impressed with those either! I’ll stick with the Peking Chef in future!

Thick with oil raw onions ,grit in one of the vegetables,hard chips rice like pudding rice disgusting rung up told them said ok will tell chef no refund no sorry whent in bin even dog wouldn’t eat stay clear

Phoned them after a recommendation and ordered four meals from their huge menu. The prices were really reasonable and we all really enjoyed our choices. The delivery time was unbelievable only ten minutes and we live a couple of miles away. Will definitely use them regularly.

Ordered house special rice was not special few slithers of meat not even a prawn or a shrimp Duck and pork with bean shoots in bq sauce was bland Chips were the best part wont be calling back waste of £15.00

After going here a few months back it was nothing to write home about however after going under new management it is like a changed place! It is one of the best chineses I have been to and will now only go here, all the people are very helpful and the delivery driver there is lovely!

Absolutely disgraceful quality How hard is s a beef chow mein without 15 tonne of grease and sauce when I asked for it dry. Burnt prawn toast to top it off with no prawns near it Beef cooked to death !

I was so disappointed with my last visit to Southern China. I ordered a ham egg foo young and when it arrive I have never seen so many egg shells. It wasn't little bits too, it was massive chunks. I really don't see how it could have passed quality control and I am so disappointed. Used to go almost once a week. I rang them straight away and told them about it. They apologised and offered me a new one. After that experience, I didn't want another so opted for a chow mien. Although they replaced it, it should never have happened. We had been going to Southern China for years but now I don't think I could go back.

By far the best takeaway in ingleby. Its always here within 15 mins

As far as takeaways go, this place is has always been one of the better places. I've ordered several times a year for 10+ years and have always been happy with my order.

Again brilliant food is always excellent and on time ..even on a Friday evening. ..seriously cannot fault this place ...If I could give more stars I certainly would ;-)

I ordered the chicken and noodles. The noodles came with vegetables in which was not stated on the menu otherwise i would have requested without vegetables. Also the chicken tasted like cardboard. Reheated most probably. A regular here but after this wont be returning

Probably one of the best Chinese meals I've had

As always food is gorgeous and always on time or sooner it's the only Chinese we use now as the service is excellent and the delivery drivers are always happy friendly and polite, would highly recommend giving them a try you won't be disappointed ;)

Absolutely appalled at the way the girl on the phone spoke to me when there was an error with my address over just eat. I explained that I wasn't at my usual address and had changed the delivery address on just eat but it hadn't changed on the ticket, when they rang to say the driver was outside the wrong address she demanded I pay the driver another delivery fee before he would hand over my already paid for food. The driver apologised but I'm appalled at the service and annoyed there was an error on just eat with my address!

Absolutely perfect. I order regularly from here with just me and fiancée but tonight I had a few mates round and Southern China did not disappoint. Came is a decent time given it was a big order and it was delicious!

The food arrived on time but with missing rice. This has happened before. Rang to ask where it was and rice was sent back out. Main meal was cold at this point. They wouldn't reimburse so they've now lost our custom.

Really late and not delivered when said it would be.

Having read bad reviews over the months about this restaurant I have to say this is my go to Chinese in Ingelby, never had a bad meal in the last 4 years I've used here & great value for money & fast delivery time.

The food is always really good from here, infact i havent had a bad meal from there at all. The delivery times are spot on and often delivered earlier than the time given. Its the only chinese we order from.

Not so keen on chicken chow mein sauce was like a gravely and rice a little sticky. Special curry was v nice and duck dish was plentiful and tasty too.

Love this place, the Singapore chow mein is fabulous, goes hand in hand with the spicey curry sauce and egg fried rice.

Chicken skewers, chips and sauces were all spot on, but the prawn toast was slightly burnt and the sweet and sour chicken had a plastic taste to it.

Been getting takeaways here for years. Without doubt the best Chinese in Ingleby Barwick and I've tried them all. Food is faultless and always ready on time.

Mushroom chow mein was far too salty and egg fried rice was cold on arrival.

I always use Southern China for the salt and pepper chilli shredded chicken but the last few times I have got it they haven't been as good as they used to be, the onions and peppers are soggy, they aren't as hot as they used to be and just not as good quality as they used to be. I hope this to change because I am a big fan of Southern China.

Chicken satay starter over cooked

Got home to find three bits of our order missing and we had a dish that we didn't order.

Wasn't impressed with meal chow mein tasted more like gravy ; egg fried rice was hard and the chicken and sweetcorn soup was far too thick and congealed. Won't be ordering from here again.

Large piece of metal was an extra bonus. Friend has sustained injury to metal scraping throat as she swallowed a sharp, large piece of metal. Let's see what a and e have to say! DISSAPOINTED!!!!

Terrible!! Thai tom yum soup not even spicy, chicken curry was so bland I couldn't taste a thing! I know Chinese dumb down the flavours for western tastes but this food is totally tasteless!! ££15 and It went in the bin

Only ordered chips noodles and curry sauce. Chips were greasy with no potato in and the noodles were awful and packet tasting.

Closed before we collected, gave a time of 10.50 but was closed

Normally like this shop, but I'm very disappointed this time. The salt pepper chicken was over fried and burnt. They are not all black, but when open the box, it smells burnt and the chicken wings look extremely dark. Cannot believe that the chef actually put them in the box and allowed this be sent to the customers!!! Some positive things to comfort myself, the soup was as nice as usual.

It was disappointing tonight the chips were awful, soggy and cold. The rice was ok. It's strange as these guys have impressed the last few times but a let down tonight.

Ordered food from this Chinese as the one we usually use was closed, ordered 2 chicken dishes and couldn't finish them ! Tasted like chicken was out of a tin or something, very rubbery and tasteless and certainly not like any chicken I've ever tasted, yuck 😞

No delivery service anymore which was a bonus, but food is gorgeous and wouldn't stop us going there!
