The food is always ok and is usually on time if you book it in plenty of time . The front waiting area is very cold this time of year .

A good range of vegetables in the vegetable chow mein. However, a bit bland/plain tasting. The bean curd was a bit over chewy than it can be. Spring rolls were great. Not the best place I've eaten not the worst.

I ordered the bean curd in Szechuan sauce but when I got home realised they had done sweet & sour sauce, phoned up to be told it was Szechuan and I have it wrong, but it most definitely looked and tasted like sweet and sour. On returning it the manager showed me the sweet & sour sauce and it to be completely honest that looked like a watered down neon orange colour, never seen sweet and sour sauce like it in my life, nor have I seen Szechuan sauce illumines red either. I asked for a refund and the manager snatched the food and told the young girl behind the desk to refund, I felt so sorry for her but I also don’t appreciate being told I’m a liar. Might I add this is twice in a row they have messed up on our order but I’m a big believer in mistakes happen but it’s how you deal with it after. We won’t be returning ever again. I’m not sure if this place has changed hands but it’s gone down hill a lot from last year. Incase the owners do read these reviews what would have been better is to offer to replace it for something totally different. Leaving customers with rice and chips for dinner is very poor customer service.

Used to love this Chinese!! Now it’s completely inedible. The satay chicken was congealed and stagnant. The squid was undercooked to the point it was mushy and rubbery at the same time. The salt and pepper chips had a sprinkle of salt and no peppers!! The ribs were over cooked and dry despite being in a greasy watered down sauce. The beef in black bean was basically spicy gravy with rubber beef. All in all disgusting couldn’t eat it and will NEVER be returning.

Waited about 25 minutes when I got the food I was two minutes from my home opened it up and it was cold. The barbecue sauce is to salty I asked for plum sauce but got barbecue

Combination curry used to have 3 prawns in it then it went to 2 and tonight I didn't get any it's getting very poor looking for a better Chinese tbh also 2 weeks ago I waited over an hour for my order I think they forgot it until I asked no apology.

Nice menu choice. First time visitor, was surprised at how busy the shop was when I arrived - around 16 people were waiting. Only downside is that some of the food was only lukewarm rather than piping hot when we got it home.

This has always been my go to Chinese for years. I’ve had a couple of takeaways from here recently and both times been very disappointing. Forgetting my order on one occasion. Stale chips. Watery tasteless dishes. Sadly nothing like it used to be. Won’t be returning.

They missed one of my orders off, called them and resolves the issue quickly. They have given me the missed order for free.

Reliably good Chinese takeaway, we regularly easy from here. The only reservation I have is it can get pretty chilly while waiting to collect in cooler months, and no option for delivery.

South Wootton Takeaway is a shop that my kids grew up with, we’ve used it for almost 20 years even before when it was a supermarket. The quality of their food has been getting better and better within the past few years, fresh and delicious. Taste of home. Highly recommend.

Went to collect my order & it had been given to another customer, the two teens behind the counter were giggling & messing around. Had to wait for it to be prepared again which was a pain. Then they got the amount wrong on the card machine, still more interested in playing on their phones & chatting to each other rather than paying attention to how much they'd charged me. Food was OK but I won't be returning.

I never usually leave reviews but it was my sons 21st tonight and the food was disgraceful. We ordered ahead of time but still had to wait 25 minutes extra when I arrived which I wouldn’t of minded as I understand it’s a busy Saturday night but the food was awful. Got home and they’d missed out his rice and the chips were like rubber & the chicken chow mein had no flavor. I used to be a regular but it’s put me off coming back. I rang up to complain and I was offered a ‘free’ rice next time which isn’t free because I paid for it tonight and never received it. £55 wasted on a overall bad meal.

Half decent food. As expected for a takeaway. Better ordering system needs to be in place. Why quote a time for collection if the food isn't ready?. Unfortunately I had to wait an extra 25 minutes. On top of this they had forgot to give me my soft drinks so I went back in and they tried to make me pay again for it. Decent food but poor customer service.

5 of us had a take with these guys. It was the best chinese takeaway i have had to be honest. Generous portions, not greasy like some and the curry had lots of meat in and cooked extremely well. Used twice now and not dissapointed.

Lovely food, chips were amazing, didn't look great but tasted brilliant. Quite a long time to wait but it was worth it.

First time trying this Chinese and it was awful!!! Chicken chow mein was bland - literally plain noodles chucked in a box with chicken. The chips were still hard and undercooked. The kung po chicken was something else 🤢it was like boiled bits of chicken swimming in sauce, my partner did not even touch it. There was nothing kung po about it! The Singapore rice was like a brick of over cooked stodge. Called to let them know and the girl didn’t know what to say so she passed me to the manager/owner and she literally argued with me about it, saying they check the chip temperatures so there’s so way they could’ve been undercooked?! I worked in a kitchen and know for a fact you don’t probe chips! She offered a discount on the next time we order but I told her we wouldn’t be back, never have I had such bad food/customer service.

Our go to Chinese takeaway. Prices have gone up but hasn't everywhere! Only downside was satay chicken being a bit on meh side. Everything else was good or better.

Great everytime, even when they are extremely busy still great food and friendly service and cannot recommend enough, also great help with different dietary requirements and always happy to help, thank you 🙂

Has this changed hands as none of the dishes taste the same . Been going here and when they had the north wootton one for years. The curry doesn't taste the same . Roast Pork chow mein used to have massive slices of pork in it . It now has small chopped up tiny pieces. Chow mein tastes oily and smokey. Meat is not the same quality and all others dishes are not as nice. The chips taste different aswell. What is going on. This place has been the best chinese around for years . Hope they havent sold up or changed the cook. Needs to be sorted out or will lose regular customers.

Beautiful food good service good value for money

Good quality, but recent changed due to penny pinching. In partiular Salt and Peper chicken, that have now taken to really "packing out" food. Meaning stuffing the contains with onions etc, so to lower the amount of actual food you are getting. Never used to have this problem but obviously trying to boost profits.

Best Chinese take away in Kings Lynn. Amazing clean tasting food with little grease. Very polite staff. Reasonable prices. Only negative is that they don’t do deliveries but if you can drive it is well worth a quick trip out to collect. If I could give it 6 stars I would! But I’m begging you, please start doing deliveries. I would happily pay extra.

Sorry to say but it's not even close to Chinese food. I tried almost all of them in King's Lynn. The best so far Chinese is "FORTUNE HOUSE" on Wootton Road I would advise all of you to try it.

This is our favourite Chinese takeaway. Always happy to exchange anything on set meals and service with a smile. Best tasting and freshly cooked food that always delights and very reasonably priced too.

Favourite chinese takeaway in King's Lynn. Super quick service and great food. The staff are always happy and efficient and the waiting area has chairs, TV and is always clean. Good parking outside as well.

Always good never had a problem

Do not bother ordering by phone, tonight was disaster, I waited 40 minutes in the room after arriving at time the meal should have been. Convinced they only cook when meal is paid for on arrival. Meal was not that good either.

Always excellent service and food, especially when you have tried elsewhere, you realise just how good their food is!
