Very nice place, really enjoyed the mac and cheese. they also give a very big portion of fries and i got the cajun fries which were lovely and always worth paying a bit extra for.

The food is always 10 10s. Amazing jerk chicken. Always juicy. The burger is meh but the grilled chicken wings and chicken parts make up for it. The mac and cheese is to die for I wish they did mac and cheese and chicken only Box cause its the money maker. I'm sad they stopped having the cheesecake on the menu since I loved it so much. This place is good portion size for ur money. Its sooooo good even their drink choices are 10 10s. All I wish is for dessert to come back. (this review is based off uber eat ordering)

First time buying food from here. We bought food for 2 adults and 3 kids. We had a whole Chicken half jerk half BBQ, wings some in spicy BBQ and some in island sauce (it's so hot 🔥 I loved it), fries, Mac & cheese, rice & peas and coleslaw. Glad to see some where that's not selling half wings as one wing they give you the whole wing. We loved all the food it was so delicious. Definitely will be back again soon.

Really good chicken and sides, recommend the combo boxes (and mango fusion wings). The boxes are always well packaged for takeaway and delivery.

Lovely food, great service, super people - love this place

So I ordered a combo box (3 wings, half chicken and cajun fries) from Soul Chicken. The wings were chunky cooked and marinated with jerk sauce which was slightly spicy but not to hot. Half chicken tasted nice again marinated with the same jerk sauce. The cajun fries was something different well cooked tasted really nice compared to normal fries well worth upgrading. The portion are large be aware good idea keeping empty stomach especially with the combo box. Well worth trying highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing food, well salted fries actual full wings not drums or flat’s separate. Mac and cheese is to die for like actually no kidding. The portion sizes are enough for 2 sometimes wich is really good you basically get 2 meals. I love the owner and staff and me and my girlfriend get it nearly every week definitely spend your money here you won’t regret it. The island sauce is my only problem it has the punch and kick i want from spicy food, but no specific taste maybe make it sweet or sour

Very very good. Had this after a day out. Eat in. Had a box with loaded fries, wings and burger. Was very very good. I didnt finish i was so stuffed so left overs tommoz for me! I went in hungry and didn't even get to finish the whole thing as the meal was very satisfying and filling. Would highly recommend the burger and loaded fries. I will try the wings tomorrow!

This place is unreal! Only recently discovered but the chicken is hands down the best I’ve ever had! Cooked to perfection, all the dishes are seasoned so well. Best fries I’ve ever eaten! The mac and cheese and wings are top tier! Nothing greasy, all fresh beautiful food Definitely one to try!!

Had a jerk chicken burger and I may as well have bitten into a leather boot. The texture of this being a pregnant woman almost made me sick! It was also slightly pink and it’s chicken breast (so should be white through and through). So disappointed as we waited over an hour for this to be delivered. The chips were soggy and bland too. Waste of time & money.

Really fancied some spicy smoky chicken. The sort of thing that doesn't usually translate well when you're getting it delivered but I was chuffed to bits with this. Lovely blackened smoky chicken, but still moist. And those sauces... I like a bit of spice so went for island half chicken and jerk wings - absolutely brilliant. Proper hit of scotch bonnet heat that gets your whole body tingling. Exactly what I was after, thanks! On a side note, nice to see someone selling three wings as three wings, not as six even though it's just three wings chopped in half. Fantastic wings too. Big meaty smoky juicy love.

me and my husband visited today for the first time and it was so delicious! the prices are so reasonable for the amount of food you get the seasoning is perfect, the chicken was moist and the atmosphere was really good. can’t wait to visit again and try something different! :)

Came here for the first time after checking reviews and I was super happy that I did. Ordered the Fully loaded, 5 wings, coconut crush and Ferraro cheesecake. I ordered the fully loaded chicken in Island flavour as I love spicy and rarely is anything spicy enough for me, all I can say is it definitely did not disappoint in the spice level. The food was all fresh and flavours were perfect. Cajun fries were delicious. 5 wings I got in jerk sauce flavour was amazing too. The cheesecake is homemade and it was the perfect thing to finish off with tasted very creamy and sweet without it being sickly. Will definitely be coming back and 5 star is well deserved. Thank you

Great food - only slight criticism is that the chicken was a bit dry. Flavour was amazing though.

This is the second time we have ordered a meal from this restaurant.The first time we ate in.The food tasted like it was freshly prepared, jerk chicken seasoned and sauced to perfection, the rice and peas were delicious, the cajun fries were also delicious and very good customer service. The food was served in a large foil container. A brilliant idea as I wasn't leaving that delicious food behind. We took the leftovers home, container already provided. The second time was last night. We had 2 meals again, 2 types of chicken, plain rice, rice and peas, fries, salad and 2 cans of soft drinks. We took it home and once again, we couldn't fault it. Everything from the salad, chicken, fries and rice were absolutely delicious. Huge compliments to the chef. So nice to have a chicken place close to home that sells delicious, well seasoned, quality food, a world away from the chains offering deep fried fast food options. It's not cheap fast food, but worth every single penny as the food is absolutely delicious. There is a good portion size and great service and of course the chicken is the star. We will be visiting this place again and will be telling our friends about this place too. If you are reading this, give it a try and if you know what great food tastes like, you will not be disappointed. I would say the best place to have chicken in Kings Heath. We love Soul Chicken.

Originally tried after a recommendation from a friend, and had take out regularly ever since. Delivery is usually very fast and food arrives hot (not just warm). Boneless chicken generally excellent, well spiced & not dry, I've only had one slightly sub-par meal out of 20 or so times ordering. One of my favourite takeouts.

I can not express how horrible the food from this place was. It tasted like pure metal, I mean everything from the chicken to the Mac and cheese. I got two soul temptation (costing £40) on the 11/12/22 and I can not described how disappointed I was. PLEASE go somewhere else!!!!

The island dip is 10/10, burger was fine, chips weren't crispy though but the cajun salt was the saviour and the mac could've done with more cheese, it was delivered early, it was still hot. I actually enjoyed it.

Ordered through uber eats and was delivered well within the time specified. Usually wary about trying to places but I'm really glad I did, the mac n cheese was one of the best I've had and the biscoff milk cake was amazing, the fries were really nice too, I had the soul temptation meal platter which looked a little pricey for what it was but I was very happy with the portion size, the only thing I'd change would be to maybe have a choice of different chicken in the wraps/burger as the wrap couldve done with being a bit spicier but all in all it was a great meal and ill be returning for sure.

PATHETIC......I would rate this 0 if i could. I walked in and staff were texting oblivious to us waiting at counter. After 20 minutes within the order being placed we were told by a staff member the chicken had ''broke''? (found it a bit weird but let it fly) so they told us that they'll make another one and it'll take about 15 further minutes and at this stage I made them aware my 6yr old was in the car that she's hungry, and feeling tired as it now was near 8pm. So we waited for a further 25 minutes and then was told now by the owner that our chicken had now been undercooked and he could not allow that to be sold??? so we have to wait for another 15-20 minutes. They were in my view giving priority to Just Eat orders and not ours and decided my money and my order wasn't good enough. We waited 45 minutes in total when the restaurant wasn't busy. I observed unhygienic practices whilst also wasting 45mins of our evening. Avoid this joke of a place.

Unfortunately I will give only 1 star. I ordered chicken 2 days ago with Deliveroo and the food came in time at 9pm which is good. However, the chickens arrived burnt most of them.. you can smell the burnt, taste and see it 😅 you can see from the picture. I ordered from that restaurant since it had a good review and higher star but I regret to say that it is wrong. I think they do this on purpose because if I was at the restaurant I would just complain and they would bring another one. But now, I can complain in there. It was our first order and will never order again.. also we didn’t like the taste, they just burnt the chickens and pour sauce on the top of it.

Vandaag heb ik de lekkerste eten dat ik heb ooit in Birmingham gegeten!! Super lekker gemarineerde kip, smakelijke rijst bakjes en frites met smaak. Alleen lege bordjes hier thuis. A must visit when in Birmingham, UK. I'm really impressed with the taste and quality of this restaurant. Ik ga morgen weer bestellen.

Tasty fries and the Island dipping sauce was authentically made and full of flavour but the chicken breast was a bit dry. I was really looking forward to the rice and pea but it tasted like a couple kidney beans was added to microwave white rice. I was disappointed because the review's are amazing but I expect they are by people who don't eat alot of Caribbean food.

Absolutely incredible food. The chicken was off the bone, the portions were generous, and the spices were blended perfectly.

I'm not generally someone that leaves reviews. But the food was so tasty. I felt the need to share... I had the Island flavour chicken strip and skin of fries munch box with salad. So full of flavour! I'd definitely eat here again, and recommend others to come here. The music playlist was on point too, soul food with banging music. Nice vibe 👍🏼😊

Amazing customer service and tasty food! We got two signature boxes with different sides to share and I can honestly say it was the best chicken and food we have ever had. Had a burger meal delivered and I don't think I'll ever be able to have a burger from anywhere else. Chicken breast was huge and perfectly cooked, it was lovely and crispy on the outside but tender and juicy inside. Peri fries had so much seasoning on that they were hands down the tastiest fries I've ever had and again, perfectly crispy outside but nice and fluffy inside. So chuffed to have such a good eatery on my doorstep!

Chicken wings & fries are really nice ! Much better than expected. However, I was disappointed with the burger as It wasn’t very tasty in my opinion. Would definitely recommend this place and can’t wait to try the other dishes on the menus.

What can I say except awesome food, awesome service and awesomely clean & healthy and dine in area is awesomely presented. Food was fresh, well cooked. Sauce options were awesomely tasty. I don't use the word "awesome" a lot trust me. Compliments to the manager and his team for giving us a great experience. Will be back soon. AWESOME ! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !

Top spot, good fresh food made to order and a 5 star food hygiene rating. Friendly staff will go out of their way to make sure the customer is happy and it’s good value for money. Only downside is they’re closed on Sundays.

Just received my order through Deliveroo. I had the 'chill box' which is a really good offer for 19.99 but what's even better is there food. These guys are really good, i don't usually write reviews cause I'm never that satisfied and don't like to leave a bad one but I came straight onto Google cause I wanted them to know how much I appreciate there effort and that amazing deal! Please don't take that offer away from deliveroo and ill be a regular, and the missus is also happy as well so happy wife happy life thanks guys can't praise you lot enough. Oh and that BBQ sauce is epic! Only 1 negative thing ill say, is the mac and cheese didn't taste like any mac and cheese I've had before I didn't eat that I didn't like it that much and can't quite figure out what that taste is but then again it could be the fact that i munched everything else and was proper full lol Would be nice if you could add a little bit of butter in there for the corn on the cob too :) honestly though you guys get 10/10 from me, ill be back soon and ima let other people know about you ! Soul Chicken is small independently run Caribbean grill-house. They specialise in high quality, well cooked, healthy food, all served with a range of delicious homemade sauces. Service is super friendly and they always make sure that my food is cooked exactly as I like it. Soul Chicken has quickly become my go-to choice for a great quality takeaway treat.

What a gem of a place, truly heart and soul put into the food. I accidentally came in for some fries for my son, I was welcomed with friendly staff and was impressed with the quality of the chips- being hand made, delicious. My sons have food allergies and have never been able to have the chicken at restaurants because of the dairy/wheat coatings. However the owner said he can make a separate whole chicken allergen free, if a give him a day or 2 notice. I did this and ordered the family platter. The owner/chef used separate utensils to cook the chicken. It tasted so tender, fresh and full of flavour -top quality. My family loved the meal, what a treat, and reassuring to know I’m feeding my family healthy grilled food. Will definitely be a regular customer. Kings Heath is lucky to have such a lovely top quality restaurant.

Had been waiting to try this place for a while. Popped in this evening and was met by a passionate and helpful staff member. I had the half chicken with rice and fries. The fries weren't greasy and are probably the best fries I've tasted in Birmingham. Chicken was tender and flavoursome. Looking forward to trying out other stuff on the menu. Great food, friendly staff and the place seems immaculately clean.

Fries are hand cut and probs the best youll get in the area. Burgers and wraps are not for me because they use breast and are not as moist as thigh is. Toppings and the brioche bun are great though. Wings are HUGE! Triple the size of ur average wing from anywhere else. Sauces good. Mac and cheese could be a bit cheesier. Service is good.

Family business. And, what do they make?Chicken, a very popular smell in the High Street. The first time I ordered with them, I tried the chicken burger with no sauce. And a portion of fries, a good amount of fries, perfect salted and very delicious. I do like the skin on 😁 This time I repeated the same but I went for the Mango marinated burger. Also, a few wings with BBQ sauce on the side. A good thing is you can choose the toppings and they are very generous doing that. They are doing great! Congratulations! 🤗
