Score and reviews

A lovley greeting awaited us as we were shown directly to our table. What a delightful atmospheric place. Walking to our table the cavernous rooms gave a medieval feel. Warm lighting and thoughful decor. Careful with covid guidance. The food was cooked to perfection as we enjoyed every course. The table service was first rate.

Sotto Sotto is hidden away just off the city centre just 5 minutes stroll from the abbey. The restaurant is in an old cellar which runs beneath the road. The vaulted ceilings give it a really unique atmosphere. The service is excellent and they have the tables we’ll spread out to cater for the corona virus social distancing. The menu is varied but unusually for an Italian restaurant they don’t serve pizza. What they do serve are some superb traditional Italian dishes. We had a 2 course lunch and wouldn’t have managed desert. Very generous portions of simply delicious food.Highly recommended

Martini Restaurant

22/09/2020: Went here on recommendation and so glad we did. Busy bustling restaurant serving most amazing Italian food. We had rosemary focaccia, carbonara and pizza all of which were delicious. Followed by baked cheesecake with raspberry sauce. All were very tasty. Great team here serving and keeping everyone happy. Highly recommend

Dough pizza restaurant

26/09/2020: Sometimes you just want a pizza and you will not be disappointed if you choose Dough above the numerous other pizza/Italian restaurants in Bath. They offer a huge range of pizzas. We started with a mixed meat platter which was huge and contained lots of cured meats and cheeses. I had a seafood pizza made with yellow tomatoes. The topping was very generous and full of flavour. Every town should have a place like this. I cannot understand why anyone would go to a pizza chain when you can get the real thing.
21/09/2020: Looked for a spot to have dinner on our first visit to Bath.We sat outside on a reasonably mild evening and it felt like sitting outside a favourite place down a side street in the centre of Rome. The service was great and the range of pizzas was impressive. The standard option is sour dough baked thin like a proper pizza. Options included hemp, burnt grain, multi grain and even seaweed! We had a veggie and a veg with prawn. Both good but I preferred the veggie (and normally I’m a meat eater).Manuel was the main waiter and he and the rest of the team took a personal interest in our experience. Thanks to all.
