Sorbetto in Thanet

Wow, gluten free cone, vegan ice cream. I was in heaven. It was such a delight to see. I had so many choices. They had a whole display freezer with just vegan ice cream. 8 ice creams to choose from. I had rum and raison and salted caramel.

Stopped in Sorbetto, Ramsgate for dessert. Very friendly staff and the mint chocolate chip sundae was seriously good 😀. Highly recommended.

Called in for 3 sundaes today and the place was complete chaos. We waited and waited while watching other people being served. I went in and asked for a refund as we were now short of time. This was declined. I was passed to the supervisor who said she was making them, I didn’t realise it took so long. The supervisor was extremely rude and as she made them she couldn’t have gone any slower, smiling at other customers. The tables were extremely dirty. My advice is to avoid this place and go a little further along where decent service and ice cream in clean surroundings is available

Lots of flavours, big servings (although smaller than the past). Quick service, always busy. Whippy as good as the gelato.

We visited a few Sundays ago on a cold wet day. We were welcomed as soon as we arrived and allowed to try a little taster of some flavours. This helped us to choose a yummy mixture. My husband had warm doughnuts with ice cream and I had an ice cream sundae. A lovely treat. Sheila and Hannah were really friendly also. All in all a great hour.

We love this ice-cream shop. It does the best ice-cream ever - all home made on the premises. Never go anywhere else now. Salted caramel to die for!

We visited on a drizzly grey afternoon but were met by an warm welcome. There was an interesting array of ice creams on display and the opportunity to try some of the unusual flavours before making your final choice. I went for my usual mint choc chip whilst my more adventurous husband went for ginger which he really enjoyed. Thank you for letting us shelter out of the rain!

Beautiful home-made ice-cream. I recommend the Ferraro Rocher Ice-cream! Lovely, friendly staff too.

Stopped here for lunch and decided to have a shared ice-cream dish. The staff were very friendly and the dish consisted of three scoops of any ice cream we selected plus fruit and whipped cream and wafer bits. Very enjoyable.

Ice creams have gone up in price whilst they’ve become less than half the size and the staff just look confused

Called in on the offchance today. My wife has dairy and egg allergies so finding suitable places to get dairy free sorbets is difficult. The lady who served us was really helpful, explaining which sorbets my wife could have. Very knowledgeable about allergens, which is not always the case. The raspberry sorbet was lovely, as was the mint choc chip ice cream that I had. Well worth a visit.

What a lovely ice cream cafe this is. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable about her products. Coeliac Hubby had mint chocolate chip ice cream. I had vegan raspberry sorbet but could have had chocolate sorbet. The cafe is right on the marina with lovely views. Inside and outside seating and lots of choice.

I asked for a double ice-cream cone and could not believe at the small amount of ice cream on the come I complained to the young lad who served me and he told me had been told off for giving a normal amount It is expensive as well DO NOT GO HERE unless you want to be ripped off

I had a banana split, partner had a knickerbocker glory. He enjoyed his a lot. My banana split was the best I have had. That may sound a cliche, but it is so true. The ice cream was amazing. The young lady who served us was a delight. So helpful. Looking at the inside you could easily give the place a miss. However I strongly encourage you to try it. I did and was not disappointed.

Wonderful choice of flavours and the creamiest 'Mr Whippy' type ice cream. Choice of ice cream cones too - hard to choose what to have as it all looked so scrumptious!

Had ice cream here yesterday after arriving in Ramsgate. It was 11am and that was the best time as the place was empty. I had a cone with 3 scoops and the best flavor was the chocolate, absolutely delicious.

Just visited this cafe as we all fancied a good ice cream ! What a mistake that was , the place is a rip off & we will not be going there again please dont bother

The Turkish Delight ice cream is to die for...great location. Good for people watching whilst cooling down, in the few days of English Summer!

Lovely ice cream - the flavours look fab but the whippy style is standout. Sharing sundaes and freak shakes next on ‘must try’ list. Charming service and nice seating in the sun on the harbour and coffee great, served with a smile (morelli’s could pick up a tip or two...)

We visited here Saturday with our son he had the children's sundae and we opted for the freakshakes as we have seen these advertised in other places and they look amazing, we enjoyed them very much the staff were friendly would recommend

Had a 'sharer' ice cream which was better value than 2 Knickerbocker Glories. Multiple scoops of ice cream (you select the flavours you want in it) plus fruit, cream, wafers etc. Not positive but may have been a pound or so more costly than last year but still enjoyed it. No hesitation in recommending it for a family to try sharing it rather than buying multiple cornets.

The best ice cream I've had while on holiday! The scoops are well worth the money and the range and taste of flavours are great! Highly recommended.

We visited yesterday and had a combination of desserts.Even though there was 12 of us the service was quick.The staff all had smiles on their faces and were very polite ...the strawberry ice cream was delicious

We have been here a few times and make sure to visit when we are in the local area, they have a selection of beautifully flavoured ice creams and a few selections of cones you can choose to have them in, the price is very fair as the ice cream speaks for itself as it is light and creamy and the flavours really come out of the ice cream.

On a warm Saturday afternoon most of the flavours were almost finished. While the staff was very courteous both the rum and raisins, as well as the salted caramel tasted poorly and not at all as an homemade gelato or sorbetto. Kudos for service and cleanliness not so for the quality of the ice cream

Friendly staff, great tasting Italian ice cream fantastic on a hot day the lemon flavour is my favourite with the sharp taste of lemon mixed with the sweetness of the ice cream its £2.50 for one scoop wether in a tub or a cone well worth a visit if your on your holiday

Stooped in here for an ice cream. First visit, won't be our last. 2 of us had ice cream in little tubs, strawberry cheesecake and Rum & Raisin. There were over 30 flavours to choose from! Dreamy ice cream. 2 of us went for a single 99 cone. The "whippy" ice cream for the cones is their own secret recipe and thank goodness we only went for a single cone each. It was absolutely delicious, undoubtedly the best whippy ice ream I have had in a long time and the biggest. It was like a 3 course meal. The double, I am sure, will not be for the fainthearted. Delightful staff, an ice cream menu to die for. We will be back to try a Sundae. For lunch, I think. This is a gem in Ramsgate and should not be missed.

We have been to Sorbetto's a few times now and have always had really lovely ice-creams. The lady who served us, (sorry, not sure pf her name, but think she's the owner), is always very friendly and nothing is too much bother. We went today to celebrate a friends Birthday. There is a good choice of ice-creams. I had a Knickerbocker Glory & chose Pistachio, Ferreo Rocher and Turkish Delight flavour ice-creams. Omg! It was huge and amazing!! We were also had a few extra seperate sprinkles in pots to add if we wanted. Everyone enjoyed theirs too. Will definatley be going back again. Thank you Sorbetto!

Perfect location to enjoy their great ice cream - well worth a visit! So many flavours it was hard to choose.

We were on a day visit to ramsgate and fancied an ice cream. There was a huge array of enticing flavors on offer - we selected banana, cookie and cream and strawberry. All really tasty and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and accommodating - they allowed us to take an extra cone (for free) for the baby so he could have a little 'taster' - very kind. Highly recommend this place!

Visited with my family after looking at Sorbetto's Facebook page. Immediately thought the place looked shabby. Outside tables and chairs used inside, dirty floor and the place was freezing yet they still had doors wide open.

I have been hoping to find Turkish Delight ice cream for so long, and finally I found it in my home town last week! And it didn't disappoint, deliciously creamy rose flavour with chocolate bits - perfect!

Selection, taste and a good cone that never went soggy and collapsed. All you would want from a good ice cream parlour.

Mmm.looked at variety on display.was told by assistant that the recipes were mainly the Pelosis recipes.i know the pelosi family very well, it is a fact they sold the shop, but not their award winning recipes.a generic recipe was used to demonstrate the working of the machines, the Pelosis have absolutely no input into Sorbetto.I hope this clears up any misunderstanding!

The pistachio tasted artificial, couldn't finish the scoop. On the plus side the service and waffle cone was nice. I didn't try any other flavours so can't comment but was personally very disappointed.

visited this place twice during our week stay because we could not resist it. First time we each had a Knickerbocker Glory each but on the second visit we went for a sharing sundae-it was only slightly dearer than two Knickerbocker Glory's but apart from all the trimmings it included EIGHT scoops of ice cream. It was great. A tip for young families (i.e. mum + dad + two kids), instead of buying 4 lots of 2 scoops buy one of the sharing sundae and ask for 4 spoons.

We always head for Sorbetto's when we're in town, best place for really tasty ice creams, good size scoups for the price - so great value for money. Friendly service. Recommended!

Seems expensive but tastes great, the real deal, the lady who serves must have triceps of steel scooping away like a good'un and dealing with all the ums and ahs and changes of mind, letting people have a tiny taste. Fabulous customer service, great ice cream

Jammer maar deze 'Italiaanse' ijssalon slaat de plank goed mis. Ijs van een kwaliteit zoals je het als dessert in een pub verwacht. Veel te grote bollen, behoorlijk aan de prijs. Met Italiaans ijs heeft het weinig van doen. Misschien moet de eigenaar eens gaan proeven bij Gelupo in London.

Wonderful icecream parlour right on the seafront, lovely outdoor seating area or check out some of the original retro features while ordering inside. Recommend the pistachio, coffee or rum and raisin but the raspberry is out of this world.

Always make sure I visit this place whenever in down in Thanet and usually share the 8 scoop sundae with my boyfriend. This time I had the banana split which is also excellent. Sorbetto always has a good choice of flavours available and the quality is always excellent. I love how nuts and chocolate sauce are provided separately. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Take a cherished Italian ice parlour of irreplaceable provenance, gut the place, reduce the amount of choice of items, make the whole affair look amateurish, and you're getting close to the horror that is Sorbetto. Given the location, you have to wonder how in an area of dynamism and innovation, businesses can drop the ball so badly.

Visited this Cafe/Bar on one previous occasion.

Out of many flavours of ice cream and also no flakes for a whippet 99. Poor show. What they do give you are large portions - even the one scoop was actually almost three! Whipped ice-cream was very plastic tasting.

Friendly staff, interesting flavours and plenty of space inside or out to eat your cone. We loved it and will be back!

Popped in here on Saturday Afternoon. The ice cream is all made in their own factory and tasted superb. Service was excellent and will definitely return.

Lovely ice creams and generous helpings. We sat in the October sun admiring the harbour view. The selection available is quite good and the young lady serving was charming, allowing our 4 year old grandson to taste before buying!

The best place in Ramsgate to get icecream. Wide selection of flavours and right by the seafront. Perfect on a sunny day.

After a disappointing visit to Morelli's in Broadstairs earlier in the week we thought we would try Sorbetto in Ramsgate to see if this was a better alternative. It was indeed. The atmosphere and decoration were very Art Deco and put us in mind of the 50's (when we were young!), great. The Knicker Bocker Glory was almost double the size of the one served up in Morelli's and very enjoyable and cost just over half what we paid in Broadstairs. The service was excellent with a very friendly lady who appeared to thoroughly enjoy her job. Will definitely visit again next time we are in Ramsgate

We all had a single scoop icecream at £2 each. There was a good variety. The salted caramel was my favourite. My husband had the pistachio and really enjoyed. The children had strawberry, bubblegum and licorice although my daughter dropped her licorice so was really upset lol. Really lovely icecreams and staff seemed friendly. Would go back again and would definitely recommend.

we have been here a couple of times (Ramsgate) and had the pleasure of yummy ice cream again in Whitstable at The Oyster Festival, the staff are always very friendly especially, Reece and Josh really nice lads a real credit to Sorbetto

We were unsure what this would be like since the changing of hands when we last visited but the ice-cream was local and well made and the great variety of flavours still remains. Try the fig and mascarpone!

Excellent icecream, if you're a chocoholic, try the chocolate Knickerbocker glory, out of this world. However the highlight of our visit was the lemonade icecream soda my husband ordered, it brought back memories of childhood, it was even served with extra lemonade. Fabulous

Stopped here for ice -creams. All made on the premises . Fabulous choice of flavours - recommend fig and mascapone and the dark chocolate was delicious. If you love good quality ice-cream, this is the place to go.

Took all the family here for ice cream and they loved it,staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for us,if your ever in Ramsgate and fancy ice cream come here because they will not disappoint,truly the best.

Really impressed with the quality of ice cream. Best I've tasted in uk. The chocolate and coffee ice cream was amazing. Kids had sorbet, kiwi and lemon, again delicious texture and flavours. Nice big pot of tea and the latte was good and hot. We sat outside as there was a strange odour inside, bit of anti-bac needed. Won't put me off coming back to try more flavours though!

Took the whole family here for ice cream and we all had different flavours. I personally had salted caramel, what a wonderful ice cream and I wholly recommend it. It was so nice I went back today and had a fig and mascarpone, just as nice. This ice cream parlour is a real credit to the Ramsgate seafront, I'm so glad it's there.

The real deal, proper Italian Gelato served in a wide variety of flavours. Their ice-cream shakes are delicious. Lovely location, facing the marina.

Not fake! This is the real deal. Not mass-produced dressed up as special - this IS special. 10 trips there in 6 months - never disappointed. I go for the sorbet every time - always at least 3 flavours on offer and you never know what they are going to be until the day.

We visit fairly frequently on summer. Their flavours always appeal, and they are ideally situated for the beach.

The former Pelosi has moved on but sold his winning recipe with the property. The individual scoops are outstanding as is the soft ice. Equal to Morelli in Broadstairs who is also good

Lovely little old school ice cream parlour in a great location looking out over the marina.

Four of us went here for an ice cream as an alternative to tea and cake! We were delighted with our decision. Good choice of flavours, lovely creamy texture with no icy particles to spoil it. I can recommend the chocolate peanut and salted caramel but will try the coffee one next time. Place was clean and inviting and pleasant friendly people were serving.

Went here with friends for a chat. Three of us had chocolate peanut milkshake, it was delicious. All the different flavours you can choose from they all sound good, can't beat homemade ice cream. One of my friends had a Mr wippey, fantastic vanilla flavour. We also had some donuts which came with chocolate sauce, they were more like a Spanish donut. Great service too. Go on visit and see for yourself. Strongly recommend.

The gingerbread ice cream is absolutely delicious this place is a gem. A good old fashioned ice cream shop can't wait to come back and try more flavours.

Staff are friendly, place is clean, ice cream as large as you like with a great range of flavours. This will be a regular stop in the summer.

Sorbetto have a great range of ice creams from the traditional vanilla, chocolate and rum & raisin but experiment with there more unusual flavours, such as coffee or cherry cheesecake - they are amazing!!

Nothing better than a good homemade ice cream in a British seaside resort and you won't find many better examples than this!

I had the Ferrero rocher and it was amazing. The staff are very friendly and it's great service. I would deffinately recommend sorbetto to anyone.

Passed by today and enjoyed some lovely flavoured ice creams, very reasonable prices and huge portions. Looking forward to visiting again to try out some more of the selection.

Visited today and had churros, chocolate dipping sauce and whippy ice cream. Enjoyed watching them being made! We also had salted caramel ice cream in our choice of cone (waffle with sprinkles). It was sooooo good.

Had the pleasure of stopping by today as the sun was shining for a change! We had 3 different flavours, Hazelnut, Mint Choc Chip and Salted Caramel.. They were all fantastic, would highly recommend..

Came here with my partner and we loved the variety of ice cream we were able to choose from, as well as the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Ramsgate, as this is one of the most amazing ice cream places in Thanet!

a very pleasant cafe with a few tables outside and a selection of original and imaginative home made ice creams. There's even a Mr. Whippy machine for my all time childhood favorite. I had a salted caramel cone and wandered about the harbour in total bliss. My wife swears blind that Marchesi in Broadstairs has the best ice cream but I have never had better anywhere in the world than that memorable indulgence.

We popped in here as my hubby is a real ice cream lover. He had ice cream and I had sorbet and both were really excellent. The ice cream was very smooth and tasted great and the sorbet was amazing. It was the highlight of a very disappointing day in Ramsgate.

This ice cream parlour was run by the Pelosi family for many, many years. This year it changed hands and became Sorbetto. I have had the pleasure of sampling a few of their wares by now.....They really are massively good... Today I had a double - Ferrero Rocher and Mango sorbet. You may think this sounds strange but, believe me, it was amazing. The Ferrero Rocher had the appropriate biscuity bit in with the dark, intense chocolate flavour. The Peach Sorbet was just heavenly - pieces of fresh peach in a not-too-sweet first class sorbet.

at 8.45 pm on a Thursday night, with the door open and two people behind the counter we were told "we're shut mate!".

Ramsgate is on the up. Sorbetto is typical of the improvement. This place could sit comfortably in the capital's high spots.

I hadn't been to Ramsgate for years, but visited recently as part of a group for a fishing trip. We started the day at Sorbetto for breakfast, which was conveniently placed next to the harbour with great views. Fresh coffee which was excellent and various food options. I opted for the eggs benedict and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. They have their own version of this dish, which is fantastic, definitely one to try if your visiting. I returned later after the trip and purchased Ice cream to take back home for family and friends, Turkish Delight & Lime Cheese Cake Flavours. They serve scoops into a container which assists in maintaining the quality of the product, which in my cool box proved great as over 1.5hrs later when I got home the ice cream appeared as good as when it was served. The Lime Cheese Cake is fantastic, a must if you are visiting. Overall great venue, fantastic food and the staff are genuinely nice, very approachable and polite, which made for a good atmosphere. I have always been a Rossi's Ice cream fan but after this visit my mind has been changed, Sorbetto all the way.

Top spot for a top bit of brekky! Overlooking Ramsgate harbour was a fabulous way to start the day. food was great, fresh croissants and coffee with yoghurt and fruit , with a menu of bacon butties, eggs benedict etc. Staff were superbly upbeat for first thing in the morning and very helpful to my group. We returned later as they make their own ice-cream and was not disappointed - top marks!

Popped in here for a breakfast before sea fishing. Pleasantly surprised, very friendly staff who serve an Italian twist on some great classics. Returned afterwards for an ice cream, the Turkish Delight flavour is a must people.

Nipped in here today. What an utter treat. Proper ice cream for grown ups :) You'll never have another Mr Whippy in Ramsgate if you go here. I'll be back! PS Try the salted caramel
