The food was very late and lukewarm. There were no updates to the timing for the first half hour over the time showing. Had to phone the restaurant to get an update.

I don’t travel to Westcliff-On-Sea that much mostly eat out in Chelmsford. Anyway was looking for a Thai restaurant and fancied a change. I have eaten in a Hamlet Court road Thai on many occasion but thought I would try somewhere else. I was glad I did. Loved the food here and the presentation was great. I don’t have a negative to say about this place. I am especially excited to see that they do cookery lessons also. I will hopefully return for a meal soon with friends and family. Highly recommend this establishment.

Original time was pushed back by 25 minutes and then still came 30 minutes later than that, would have certainly gone elsewhere if the estimated time was nearly 90 mins and not the advertised 40mins. Food was otherwise tasty and good

Came here for the first time today and will definitely be back. The food was fantastic. I had a beef massaman curry which was delicious. My husband enjoyed his pad Thai but had food envy so we shared. Service is also excellent. You won’t be disappointed.

Not value for money, especially spring rolls - £5.50 for 3 standard spring rolls. Curry was good.

I can't praise this restaurant enough! The Thai cuisine here is top-notch, and some of the best I've eaten, and I've been to Thailand multiple times. The service is exceptional, particularly thanks to Nat Sopa, who is incredibly attentive. Whenever I order Pad Kra Pao, the chef goes the extra mile to finely chop the chicken, enhancing the dish even further. Nat and Chef Owen should be proud of their teams for consistently delivering such a delightful experience. Looking forward to my next visit!

Legendary cooking class! I discovered SoPa Thai around a year ago. Every meal and takeaway we have had has been delicious. 10/10. My friends and I all received the same Mother’s Day gift this year, a Thai cookery class at SoPA Thai Westcliff. We didn’t really know what to expect but we booked in our date and turned up ready to give it a go. We were greeted with such a warm welcome. Chef Owen and Sopa were so kind and approachable. They talked us through the principle of Thai cookery and the key ingredients before guiding us step by step through three recipes, enabling us to create yummy feast! After each dish was prepared we Sat and ate our food, chatted and enjoyed a drink or two. The Sopa team maintained the fun by arranging mini competitions between my friends and I. We all had a lovely evening, lots of fun, a fabulous meal! Thank you!

Delicious food, authentic Thai flavor

A perfect Thai for all the family. Truly the best Thai in Essex and we have tried most. Service is fantastic and if you don’t want to be rushed through your courses you are not pushed. Crispy duck salad is outstanding and very filling…..all portions are very generous from starter to dessert. Not one complaint from me and my family.

11 of us came here for my birthday.Loved the food,all tasted very fresh.I had the chicken satay which literally fell apart,so nice.Had a chicken curry for mains,cant remember what one,but that was very nice also.We all enjoyed our food except the mother in law really,but i think she chose the wrong mains because it was to spicy for her.Also one of the waitresses done a native dance which was really impressive.Would 100% come back again with friends

I had the pleasure of having my birthday family celebration lunch here. I could wax lyrical about this establishment for hours but suffice to say that the quality of the food was outstanding and the same could be said about the customer service from the charming owner and her staff.

Oh my god the food is so good here, service is great too. Plus I did the cookery course, which was amazing fun and now I can cook. Thai at home so well. Literally cannot find a bad thong to say.

Takeaway Pad Thai full of rubbery tinned squid - coarse and disappointing

We had a three hour cooking class with Chef Owen and it was unbelievably good. Everything was explained amazingly well so we learnt a lot about Thai cooking, and made some delicious dishes alongside. We can't wait to go back and learn some more meals! Thank you Owen and Nat!

I booked a private cooking class to take my mum for her birthday, I had been recommended Sopa Thai by a few people so thought I would give it a go as it seemed like a unique birthday present idea. I didn’t really know what to expect and can honestly say I was beyond impressed with everything!!! As we arrived we had the whole restaurant to ourselves and we were welcomed with a drink, a little apron to wear and our cooking recipes for the class. The restaurant was set up so we each had a cooking table full of fresh ingredients. We made a mango salad to start, a green Thai curry and a chicken pad Thai. The chef taught us how to cook each course from scratch, giving advice on ingredients and having a few cooking competitions during where we won ingredients to take home! after we made each dish we sat down to enjoy them. They went the extra mile to surprise my mum with a birthday dessert which was also delicious. They also offered 10% off the ingredients which they sell in their other shop and they very kindly went to the shop for us and brought the ingredients back before we finished so we could take them home. If you’re looking for a present idea or even a get together with friends to enjoy something a bit different I would 100% recommend this as well as just enjoying a Thai dinner or takeaway. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very welcoming and the restaurant is very clean and tidy. The price is incredibly reasonable. Thank you so much we will be back! X

Atmosphere and staff lovely. 10/10. Food so bad we struggled to eat it 1/10. Had the slow cooked lamb massaman. Very disappointed. It could have been nice. But the chef seems to have dropped the sugar bowl in it. Very very very very sweet. We couldn’t finish it because of the sweetness. Overly sweet. Food isn’t like this in Thailand. Why have they made a delicious curry sweet for the U.K. audience? U.K. people don’t want sweet dinners sweeter than any dessert. A bit of a kick (spice/depth) would be nice but if not, no kick — leave out the sugar bowl. We won’t be coming back!

The delivery was over an hour late. kept being told it would be 10 mins. when it eventually arrived the duck and mango salad had apple and no mango. Not good.

My wife booked for 6 of us for my 50th birthday as a surprise. We all got to cook the most amazing authentic Thai dishes. Everyone was so welcoming, friendly, and very patient with us. 1st time ordering off JustEat and really disappointed with the quality. There were 5 prawns in the Prawn Pad Thai, which was also rather dry. And the green chicken curry had the thinnest slices of a weird yellow coloured chicken in it that felt cheap and poor quality. Not impressed at all for £25. Will not come back after the experience and I personally recommend you eat at Tara Thai on Hamlet Court Road. Way better!

Over priced for dry chicken and beef. Not happy with food quality at all. 3 measly spring rolls where dip had spilled out all over them making them soggy and no complimentary crackers considering amount paid for 3 dishes.

Food was incredible! We had Dim Sum, prawn crackers & battered tempura prawns for starts that were so yummy! For mains we had Lamb masaman curry & I had the spicy noodle main dish (can’t remember the name) & it was out of this world...
