We visited for the first time and really enjoyed the food, the sushi is great and our daughter also loved the candyfloss and cakes. It was quick and easy to get the food we wanted and overall a very enjoyable experience.

Very friendly and polite staff. The food was really nice and the serving trays were continually topped up. I don't know if it was because I had been eating a very sweet toffee cheesecake, but the ice cream didn't have much flavour. Overall a really good experience and we will be going back again.

Went in for late lunch/early dinner. Really lovely service and very attentive staff with smiles. A good price for the punt of Food you can comfortably eat and the variety was great. However, the food quality was all average or below par unfortunately. No main course was actually hot and the desserts tasted like they had been sat out for a few hours, almost starting to go stale. Will definitely come again but would suggest doing so closer to a main meal time

Not much of a selection, no burgers most food available was spicy some of the party don't eat any spicy foods. Although staff were friendly when you enter they didn't speak after that. Dessert selection was poor. Won't be returning

First review was for the previous business Somerset Masala. Now edited the review,.as new name, different concept. Must be same people opened Somerset Buffet as reviews stayed on Google...be warned if reading the reviews,.as to which business they apply. Still wouldn't recommend it just not good enough for the money. All the curry dishes where good, so if want Indian and a buffet then here is ok. All the other food such as the mexican, Chinese, katsu chicken was watery and was very poor in my opinion. Chicken hard, lacked flavour, satay sauce wasn't correct. Went on a Saturday night priced at £19.95 each plus drinks, not cheap and not worth it. Way better Indian restaurants in town with friendlier staff. Wonder what they will call this place next when they change the name? Unsure about returning way better Indians locally. Wouldn't recommend. If you want Chinese go to Mei's in town. Indian in town which are way better are Pink garlic, Mattancherry, turmeric kitchen, Somerset spice all massively better Indian restaurants.

I’ve been here twice now over the last couple weeks and the service and food is fantastic. The only fault is I’m allergic to seafood and they put chicken and seafood items in the same hot plate. If these were separated then I’d have no issue. However I will not let that ruin it as they went out of their way to make me a separate plate of chicken. Again amazing staff and great food.

Arrived shortly after opening at 12.20 clean but cold in there and we weren't sat under the air conditioning. Diet coke £3.50 for a half pint and £4.00 for a pint. Several trays were empty already no sushi no tom-yum soup until about 10 minutes in . Plates almost cold so when you got back to the table the food wasn't hot at all, barely Luke warm ( again the ambient temperature in the actual restaurant was very cool) A lot of the chicken was on the bone which is ok for adults but be warned for children. Some of the chicken was overcooked and dried out already. The mini deserts were the best part. To be honest 50 quid for a meal for 2 with drinks was way overpriced and definitely not worth the outlay or experience. Was a valentine's lunch for us abhiet the day after Very disappointed we had hoped for so much more Mei's Chinese in the town centre knocks this place for six and is cheaper with a lot more choice

Midweek treat and was our first trip as a family. Lovely choice of food and my 11 year old loved it!! Plenty of choice for Chinese, Japanese and Indian. Come here for the very first time on the 22nd of February 25 and was overwhelmed with the level of service and standard of food and hygiene so much came back on Monday 24 February 25 for my son 13th birthday and YET AGAIN the service and food was impeccable will definitely be back and will certainly recommend

Such great value for money, lots of choice and everything we had (table of 4) was excellent quality. I am a chef / pub landlord and extremely fussy but I couldn't fault this place. All the staff were very friendly and approachable 10 out of 10 from us. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

Best place for mile staff were so kind and food was even better. They have a wide range of foods for a range of peoples tases and everything tasting amazing defenitely worth the money. To the kindness of the staff to the amazingly cooked food to the delicious taste the trip to this place and the money paid is more than worth it.

This was my 2nd visit and again I was so impressed with the quality of food here.It’s a buffet with Indian Chinese and Italian on the menu and reasonably priced.Thera ample parking and the staff were so helpful.I’ll definitely be coming back.

Food was nice. Sushi lovely and fresh. We didn't get anything cooked on the grill, like a burger or chicken burger, but the help yourself buffet was good. Nice assortment of curry's and appetisers like prawn toasts, tempura prawns, samosa and lots more. Friendly service, good value for money. We took advantage of the lunchtime deal during half term for my daughters birthday. My only criticism was the floor was slippery, unsure why but seemed to be the whole area. Will go again.

Should of read the reviews prior to booking a table, from start to finish was a bad experience, the place is lifting and the food was terrible, limited choices, no Mexican no Thai just awful…avoid !

Overall experience excellent. Lovely staff...Great choice of food (but no beef) sensible pricing. Music ANNOYINGLY loud to the point another table beat me to it and asked for it to be turned down. Music was pleasant just overpowering our dining experience . We will return!

The place is genuinely awesome! I have been few times already since it opened and the food quality and selection is consistently great. You can have complimentary water and hot drinks within your meal price per person which is more than reasonable. I had a coffee (latte) from their machine and it was tasting as it should. Great value for money !

Took our money very quickly but then we waited 20 mins for our drinks. Food poor quality and most dishes empty. No sauces to go with poppadoms. Salad bar empty. Different cuisines all mixed up and those that were there were very similar. Very disorganised staff. No room to move once even a few people were serving themselves. Carpet sticky and dirty. Would recommend that there was at least one member of staff for each section so things didn't run out. Only came here because we couldn't get into another well known Chinese buffet in town. Safe to say we won't be back or recommending to anyone else.

An OK experience, nothing special & not a huge range.

We were a group of five, ages 75 -19, and arrived soon after the opening time of 4pm. This was our first visit and my initial impression was that the restaurant was large with tables nicely spaced out and tidy. It was however cold and did not warm up during our stay. It is a big volume of space to heat! Now to the food. I liked the variety and the taste and I had several small portions of different cuisines but I can't say that I enjoyed them much. Why? you may ask. Well it is my pet hate of stone cold plates with food that itself was not hot enough and cools down so quickly it is Luke warm when you eat it. I did enjoy the chocolate donuts and mini scones they had for desert (cold food, cold plates is fine), the red wine was also good. Will I go back? Not until they have plate warmers and the food is hotter.

My first visit and I was very very impressed. The food was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. It was a busy Saturday night but we were still seated within 10 minutes and there were plenty of food selections on offer.

Today, 8th February 2025, my family and I attended this restaurant at 12pm as part of a 17th Birthday celebration. Before attending, I checked the website to see what sort of dishes were part of the buffet, drinks options, as well as checking the prices. On the website, it clearly states “Lunch 12pm-3pm (£14.95 kids £8.95 (under 150cm) Dinner Friday lunch closed 4pm-10.00pm (£19.95 kids £8.95 (under 150cm)” The way that this was written was already odd to me as it’s got some grammatical errors but didn’t think too much into it. When arriving, we were quickly greeted and seated. Already, the atmosphere wasn’t great. There was no music (or when it was it was cutting in and out), the restaurant was cold and there was a heating unit placed awkwardly next to our table which made it awkward for guests to get in and out. There also wasn’t a lot of room to move past our table while seated. We also felt like we were being watched throughout our meal as when we would turn to face the buffet, there were people at the bar just staring. Our drinks orders were taken and once given our drinks, we were free to go and select from the buffet. Although there was a fairly big selection to choose from, the food from the buffet was sadly sub par. Many dishes being either dry or severely lacking flavour. There were however some good selections, some personal favourites for me being the broccoli, green beans and chicken tikka masala. Something else that wasn’t great was that the deserts selection wasn’t labeled. This is especially difficult for me as I have an allergy to coconut and without knowing what I’m about to pick up and put in my mouth, it can be dangerous. Of course I could have asked a member of staff, however it seems there was a language barrier. My partner tried to ask where some tomato ketchup was and pretty much just got ignored… When the time came to pay, we were given the full bill on one receipt, no problems there as we would be going to pay separately for our items. And it meant we could double check what we ordered. We were dumbfounded though when it showed that all adult meals were priced at £19.95, even thought we attended at lunch time according to their website! We tried to dispute this at the bar, but they were refusing to take accountability for what is displayed in black and white on their website. The best they could do was subtract one meal from the bill, and that one meal? Was my 2 year old daughters of £8.95. Mind you there were 14 adults that attended this meal! So for food alone, they were going to be making £279 at least! Severely disappointed. My suggestion would be to go to Meis in Taunton town centre if you’re looking to go for a buffet type meal. Much bigger selection, more flavourful food and you know exactly what you’re paying for (as they update their website). The only thing I can’t fault about my experience was the waiting staff coming to check on us. They were well mannered and had a friendly face. Photo attached to show the website.

Some good a little cold but otherwise Lovely night out

unfortunately I can't say I would recommend this place. With mixed reviews I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Firstly, they couldn't find my booking that I called a week prior to book as it was for my sons 13th birthday, I asked over the phone whether they did happy birthday songs they told me no (absolutely fine understood). Once sat food is OK, average, some items are better than others but all edible. What annoyed us the most was the fact that 3/4 of the way through eating some gongs went off and out come two birthday cakes along with the happy birthday song!!! I'm livid to be honest. my 13 year old son with additional needs thinking I had gone to the trouble of making an effort for his birthday to only realise it was for someone else I'm sorry but completely unacceptable. Your food is OK, your hosting isn't. This might not sound like a big deal but to a child it is!! The fact that I'd spent £80 for the privilege of an upset child isn't cool!

We really enjoyed our meal. Plenty of stuff to choose from. Food was hot and lots of flavour. Nothing was dry or overdone. Fresh and genuine ingredients with every hearty bite. From all the buffet restaurants we tried before, Somerset Buffet was the best by far.

Food was ok at a lunch time. No accompaniment with sushi (soy ,wasabi, ginger) I also found a little rude being asked to pay during the meal. Surely pay before or at the end.

Great service but no vegetarian main meal so you have to order. Not a buffet if everyone else around you is eating and you are waiting for something to be cooked
