A fabulous birthday meal with family. The sharing tapas platter was just the ticket, paired wine was perfect and the service excellent.?Thank you

TURNED UP AT 12.25PM TO GET A CUP OF COFFEE WITH PARTNER. GRUMPILY GREETED WITH "WHAT DO YOU WANT?" REPLIED "A CUP OF COFFEE". STAFF MEMBER THEN SAID "NEED TABLE BACK BY 1PM". SAT DOWN, GIVEN MENUS BY BY DIFFERENT MEMBER OF STAFF THEN DECIDED TO JUST GO DUE TO SHOCKING FRONT OF HOUSE GREETING.

As Taunton slowly descends into hospitality challenges with current situation and develops into selective cuisine sectors one restaurant has always allowed me to reminisce and keep to French bistro delicacies. Please note as I write this review this is currently changing to Mediterranean Cuisine and cannot wait till I am able to review the new layout. Please keep an eye out and await updated review Unfortunately due to Covid-19 and renewal of my passport was unable to go abroad. With this in mind a close friend who appreciates going out and testing a broad range of restaurants across Taunton we booked into the last official night of Ma cuisine Bistro. Tonight we had the last night of true French cuisine I myself chose the pork cheek terrine followed by a wonderful mushroom risotto. As always had recommended pairings for wine for the specific dish ordered. Strongly advise this service as has opened my eyes to a few wines I would have never worth considering due to lack of knowledge and palate. A lovely white for starter and an exquisite rose for the main As dessert had the well recognised “Ile Flontant” with a smooth and silky digestif of a beautiful Cognac. We went as a group of 6 ladies. We started with the most amazing cocktails downstairs (we went off menu and nothing was too much trouble!). We then went upstairs for dinner which was fabulous!!!! Everyone loved the food and the wine was superb. At a table near us I spotted a couple having the shared main (steak) and I absolutely need to return asap to try it! An absolute must go to for dinner in Taunton

Four of us had a fabulous evening at this delightful gem of a restaurant. The food was both delicious and artistic and the menu included some less commonly encountered dishes, in our estimation, Andy, the Chef, could prepare food for Royalty. Our surroundings were attractive and relaxing. Restaurant owner, Paul, made us very welcome and his great sense of humour certainly brightened our experience. What a charming and pleasant host! What was unusual and especially pleasing was we all agreed there was entirely nothing to fault. Really good value for money and we can't wait to return. In an artsy Bohemian area of Taunton, the restaurant "Ma" offers the best of everything. The atmosphere is right out of a Parisian bistro, filling the walls with Toulouse Lautrec-inspired posters and little touches of quality. A well-designed menu offering excellent fish, beef and vegetarian dishes gives lots of choice, coupled with one of the best wine menus in the area. The service is second-to-none with pleasant welcomings and conscientious meal attention...we didn't feel pressured to leave the table after all was said & done. I had the Trout en Papillote and my husband had the Hake with risotto. We both had the crab croquette starter and rum baba for dessert, along with a bottle of oaky Beaujolais. The tab was approximately £130 and we felt it was an appropriate cost for such an enjoyable meal. I can honestly say that Ma is now my favourite Taunton restaurant and hope to return often to experience all this lovely restaurant has to offer.

Lush cocktails in a relaxed environment. Just what Taunton needs. The outdoor area catches the evening sun. Definitely give it a go.

Found this place tucked away in the independent quarter of Taunton. Booked in for a meal and drinks. Food was absolutely amazing and service was top tier. Drinks were fantastic and good quality. I’d encourage anyone in the area to make this restaurant a must for any occasion as you wont find anything else like it in taunton.

We had lunch here for a very special occasion. We were early but Paul downstairs made sure we all had just what we wanted to drink and was very knowledgeable, we even got complimentary glasses of bubbly and a card. Upstairs, we sat at a table overlooking the river and had the most gorgeous meal, even the fussy one thought his steak was wonderful! Every course was just delicious, perfectly cooked and presented. We went to ma cuisine for date night after hearing so many lovely things about it, the food was amazing , cocktails were probably the best in Taunton and staff were extremely personable and friendly. It’s about time Taunton had a place of of true quality!

Restaurant looks good, well appointed light and airy with tables not crammed in and service was fine. Just a pity about the food. Ordered from their daily specials. Fish and chips were excessively greasy (local chip shop quality) Pan fried steak (although a cheap cut of meat) was tasty but tough. Decided to go there as had been on a few occasions under its previous incarnation as the Riverside restraunt which was always excellent. Don’t think we’ll be go going back in a hurry

The food is amazing. The service is brilliant. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this great restaurant. It is pricey but well worth it. Very classy but not pretentious or over the top. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and in my view it is the best in Taunton and surrounding area. It was about time Taunton had fine dining!!

I was attracted to this restaurant due to its attractive setting. It was before midday and so enquired about tea and a snack. Tea only was a possibility so I enquired whether my friend and I should order indoors or where we would sit. We were told "Do what you want" I took this to be ironic humour but it seems this was not so. Tea arrived with one dirty cup (and one clean one) and brown crusty splatters on the milk jug and teapots. We got the teacup changed. Clearly the dishwasher wasn't working. The teapots had not been sufficiently filled and so it wasn't possible to pour a full cup. The bill came to six pound. I gave feedback on the lack of water and the dirty crockery and got a very affronted response. "Was the other cup dirty?" I won't ever go here again despite it clearly functioning much better as a restaurant than a morning stop.
