Food was excellent delivered on time lots of meat and sauce and nice and hot best restaurant in melton

order was supposed to be at 645pm.....no updates at all until the delivery time was changed to 730pm. Food was ok. Naan bread was stone cold, papadoms were crushed....just a bit disappointing

I submitted the order 7 hours before the delivery time and it was still over an hour late. Very disappointed as we left a party early to be back in time for the booked delivery slot.

Really not happy at all was told driver had left to then get called 10 minutes later and driver had not left yet. Absolutely appalling timing

It was very busy when I ate with SOI, they did incredibly well to keep up with the amount of meals. Our food was tasty and served hot. The Garlic Chilli Chicken we requested was particularly good. Only negative was the food and drinks were going to the wrong part of the table after ordering, but we were a large group, so that could be forgiven.

Very late and food was lukewarm, I usually enjoy a SOI curry thoroughly and good service but this was the worst I have had.

Ordered food for delivery, arrived well packaged and piping hot which was great and very quick delivery. However food was bland and tasteless, curry had no taste to it and coconut rice had no flavouring such a shame as this is my local go to! Unfortunately will be going elsewhere next time.

5-stars as ALWAYS. Food was ambrosial. Wine was palatable. Delivery driver was my new hero, an absolute LEGEND.

My food ended up being luke warm as the delivery driver got lost, he rang for directions but unfortunately didn't listen to my advice of getting back into his vehicle and proceeded to walk through the entire estate. Apart from a poppadom being soggy and the food not piping hot, it was very tasty and I will definitely order again

I’ve used Soi 3 times and all 3 times have been amazing. The first time we ordered a takeaway, the second time I attended the psychic night buffet with a friend and the third time on a date night with my husband. So 3 different experiences and all as good as the other. The food was absolutely fantastic every single time, the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great. The portion sizes are brilliant too! I can’t fault the restaurant, food or service at all and we’ve definitely found our ‘go to’ now!

Quite disappointed tonight as this is usually the best Indian takeaway in Melton. My chicken korma was swimming in sauce and the rice was cold. My son had chicken jalfrezi which also had too much very bland sauce, some of the chicken was a bit chewy and his naan was burned black on one side. Hopefully next time will be better.

Ordered at 20.28 and it said would be ready at 21.30. When I arrived at 21.30 it was clear they didn’t know about my order and eventually they said it would be 10 mins. Eventually I was given it 17 minutes late

Returned back from holiday and fancied a curry so went to our local SOI. Services as per was good but not as good as it has been. The atmosphere was dull until music was put on towards the end of the meal. I can't fault the food as was excellent as per usual. Will always recommend the Keema Nan as full to the brim of meat. Mushroom rice was perfect and the curry I had chilli chicken was amazing if you're a fan of spice. I recommend SOI to anyone is Melton that is looking for fantastic food.

Amazing quality of food. Lots of chicken in the main course, in a thick, spicy & really hot vinderloo sauce. Just what I wanted. Best takeaway main course I have had in a number of years. Congratulations Chef.

Very disappointed! Not a welcoming atmosphere. We ordered chicken tikka and the chicken was rubbery..Hard to cut. My son told the manager and was told he'd talk to the chef. Wouldn't go there again.

Visited SOI on a Saturday night with my wife. The atmosphere and service was good, as was the food. Will definitely be back next time we're in town.

Visited on a Saturday night with two friends. Quite a large restaurant which was about half full. Very friendly, prompt and helpful service. Food was all very tasty. The chili mushroom starter is pretty spicy and really nice. Lamb balti, Rogan Josh and Kormas also all very good. Would definitely visit again.

We enjoyed dining with friends at SOI on a previous visit to Melton, so we booked again. As it was a Tuesday evening it was not as busy as at a weekend. All the food was delicious, with generous helpings. The service was friendly, polite and efficient. The prices were very reasonable.The four of us had a very enjoyable evening and we will return.

We had a nightmarish experience at Spice of India in Melton Mowbray. The horror began as soon as we entered; despite having a booking, we were left standing for a torturous 20 minutes. To add insult to injury, another family, who arrived 10 minutes after us without a booking, was promptly seated. Whilst waiting to be acknowledged, we noticed the staff arguing amongst themselves, blaming eachother for things that were going wrong. This should have been our warning sign to leave! The nightmare escalated when our waiter spilled a scalding-hot curry on the floor, drenching my wife, our 6-month-old baby, and me. Shockingly, we were abandoned for a horrifying 10 minutes, soaked and ignored. It was an appalling display of neglect and incompetence that left us questioning the restaurant's commitment to basic customer care. In addition, the waiter who clumsily spilt the curry didn't even acknowledge our distress, let alone offer an apology. It was as if our discomfort meant nothing to him, leaving us feeling utterly disrespected as he continued serving the table behind us. The lack of basic courtesy only heightened the horror of an already dreadful dining experience. A complete disregard for customers' well-being is inexcusable and makes this establishment a place to avoid at all costs. Let me mention again, MY 6 MONTH OLD AND HIS PRAM WERE COVERED IN HOT CURRY! The lack of an apology or any attempt to address the situation reflects a gross disregard for customer safety. The Manager came out to speak with us after we created a fuss and could only offer us his apologies and comped our meal (which we had waited over an hour for and still hadn't received). We opted to take it home as we did not want to sit there drenched in curry. Upon reaching home, we discovered the Naan was missing and the Prawns were half cooked. The food like the experience was a disaster. The manager asked for our number so that he could call us back the following week. However, I missed the call. Upon calling back several times and leaving a voicemail, I never heard from him again. Hence resulting to leaving this review as the restaurant has to be held accountable for their negligence. Our hope is that others won't have to endure a similar traumatic experience in the future. And an expensive dry cleaning bill to get the curry stains off our brand new pram! In response to the management comment: We did not insist on sitting at a table by the kitchen. It was shown to us after I asked for somewhere quieter after the original table given to us. It is acceptable for service staff to come in and out of, there is no issue there. But the way your staff were rushing in and out, dropping cutlery etc, blaming eachother was not acceptable and of course bound to end in such 'accidents'. The fact it was a Saturday should have no importance. We booked in advance and mentioned we would have a pram, if it was not appropriate our booking should have not been accepted. The freshly cooked meal offered to us to take home was missing components of our order and was not cooked fully. So again not much of compensation for a very traumatic experience for new parents. The one member of staff was the only person who gave us 5 mins of her time. But all that was offered were 5 wet wipes. We were then left for 10 minutes with nothing else to clean ourselves with. My husband had to loose his temper to get some warm water and towels before anyone would actually listen to us. Yes we received the 2 missed calls for anytime after 4pm (no voicemail was received). And happend to be busy with my newborn at the exact time the calls came through. As soon as I was free my husband called back immediately and on subsequent days as well but did not get an answer. Despite leaving a voicemail, we haven't received a call back. Which is why I have resulted in leaving the review. There are also several negative reviews saying the exact same thing as we have experienced. Poor customer service and unattentive waiting staff.

Absolutely fantastic - we came from Sunderland and decided to go here for some food! Staff was so friendly upon arrival and though out our meal, if was also a great price, food was also amazing I would give 6 stars if I could - if you want an Indian this place is to go, Thankyou again for the fantastic service and food!

26/01/2024 - It is our first time trying SOI Indian in Melton and I must say the food was very good, the food was delivered hot and on time to our home which is always important. We will definitely be trying them again in the near future. Thank you for your time and service. 5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This had been my favourite place for Indian takeaway. Tonight was disappointing. Bhuna was too spicy to eat, which is unusual. Passender was lacking almonds and was just not creamy at all. So sad but looks like I'm on the lookout for elsewhere.

Wouldn't let me use a gift card for a cash pick up order as the Money was going to just eat apparently. You have already been paid £20 by the person who paid for the gift card. Standing there shaking your head at me like I'm a child. Wouldn't even let me finish my sentence. Gift card says it can be redeemed online and he told me from their website, you can't order or redeem anything on the website. Then comes running out after me as I get into my car and obviously changed his mind. Too late I'm gone.

Didn't take any photos of the food, but the food was AMAZING!!!! We ordered prawns and chilli garlic cheese bites. Those were both delicious! My mouth is literally watering even typing this right now. Then we ordered fish curry, can't specifically remember what it was called but it was all delicious. Can't wait to go back. If you're looking for authentic Indian food, definitely recommend to go here.

We visited twin lakes theme park and needed somewhere halal to eat the food was very nice as was the staff. Very polite and accommodating. Only thing i would recommend is having it published and displayed that the food is halal. I bet sales would increase. Thanks all.

A very average meal. The naan was soggy ... the atmosphere in the restaurant wasn't very nice, no music...staff seemed miserable, not very friendly or welcoming but were polite. The food was very average and I've had better. Won't be going back!!

First time ordering from this restaurant. Delivery was much earlier than expected and food quality was really good.

Onion salad cost over £3.50 and was literally just slices of onion! I had to add to it just to make it stretch! I have never been so disappointed by an Indian takeaway. This is a once a month treat, we have ordered from here before and never been disappointed but was astounded by the food we were delivered today!

This restaurant is always one of my regular favourites. The quality of ingredients shines through each dish. This is one of the only places that does minced chicken (keema) dishes. The head chef was at Regency Bar & Grill in Queensbury for many years and he brought the best over to this restaurant. The lamb mushkaki and chicken tikka bahar are always my personal favourites.

Wonderful food once again a bit expensive but i think its worth it.

Not great - chicken starter was chewy and the main very oily. Took over half an hour to arrive after the notification that our order was on its way. On the positive the delivery driver was polite and apologised for the lateness but other restaurants have notified us in advance of a delay which would have been better.

Always try for SOI when in the area. There isn't any competition in the town in my opinion. Warm and friendly welcome every time and the food is consistently excellent irrespective of what I've ordered, not just a few tricks pony as can sometimes be the case with other Indian restaurants.
