Great spot. We were here last night for my wife's birthday. Well looked after by the staff, nothing was a chore. Food options are brilliant and the fact that you can swap items out easily is spot on. Portions are large too, we had to take food away. Food quality was flawless. We'll be back!

Absolutely delicious food tonight. Tina was lovely and we brought so much food away because the grill portions were huge. Definitely recommend 👌

I support adults with physical and learning disabilities and we have visited Soho Tavern 4–5 times now. We visited again on 26/09/24 and there was 7 of us. I can honestly say that the service, staff, food and hospitality is amazing. They always make us feel welcome, the food is amazing. They have a fab gluten free/vegetarian/vegan menu too. Quite possibly the best Indian food in the north east, didn't realise you could order takeaway from Uber eats now I'll not order anywhere else, quality is outstanding, the chicken tikka masala is phenomenal. So delicious! Also have been to the restaurant it's a great vibe and always usually busy. Must grab some pictures next time!

I visited this place and the food was so delicious, very hygienic and nice service. It's a good place to visit with friends and family. The atmosphere is so good! Also, i ordered food from this restaurant and the packing quality is good too. So I say visit this once and i highly recommend it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Had a lovely meal on Sunday night in this fabulous restaurant. Got a great welcome by Chris who was able to explain the menu to me and my wife. He looked after us really well which was great for us. Also the manager Johnny was nice and came and chatted to us. 1st time here and won't be the last.

It was like a pub cum restaurant which we didn’t know but now yes and so is you if you reading my review. You have e to order at the front we were three adults and two kids and my husband ordered after we all told but was messed up. I think the food portions were little small may be because of inflammation. Naan was thin too but delicious. Butter chicken was sweet but Manchurian was great. Staff aren’t aware of the Indian drink of mango lassi. They weren’t sure.

First time at soho and wow what can I say... food was absolutely amazing service was great lovely friendly staff we were served by Chris who explained the menu to us. The restaurant is beautiful and clean. Can not fault one bit. They even have the perfect roof garden with music on the tv

As a local we’ve been buzzing to try Soho and it didn’t disappoint. Amazing atmosphere, lush staff and drinks and the food was epic. I know my rogan Josh and this was the best I’ve ever had. Portion was so good I’ve got a bit saved for my supper. Can’t wait to work my way through the menu this year. A fantastic dining experience, a great choice of dishes on the menu to suit everyone and a plentiful selection of quality drinks from the bar. A relaxed atmosphere where the staff can't do enough to make sure you enjoy your visit, a special shout must go to Chris Wallace who looked after us and made our visit a memorable one.

Popped in the day after our wedding on our way home as we fancied and Indian meal. We were not disappointed! Loved the ordering system, Lisa who served us was professional and friendly and explained the ordering process clearly. The food was beautiful and nicely presented and we even took home what we couldn't finish in complimentary take away boxes. (I finished it off the next day 😋) The manager/owner was lovely and recognised we were newly married and offered us a complimentary drink, we were leaving at that point but he insisted that we return to take him up on his generous offer. We will definitely be back!

Best restaurant ever been couple times now

Fantastic. Food is perfect (with a huge vegetarian menu as well), beer is cheaper than most pubs and good quality. Casual and totally unpretentious. Big TV's for the sport, nice patio for smoking and plenty of free parking in a pleasant little village. Will definitely return.

OMG flipping God….. We ordered a bhuna medium hot and a Bhuna hot. All I can say is the medium was past hot and the hot was ridiculous. Never want to taste the extra hot. EVER Bhuna should not be that hot. Won’t be going back

Food was lovely, although hubby should have gone for a hotter choice, mine was perfect. Staff very attentive and polite. Atmosphere a little loud, but Sunday afternoon and the footy is on. Will definitely return and recommend.

Visited at 9.20..... kitchen closes at 10 but that was no problem. 4 of us ordered differing foods, all with good results. We were all happy with quality and taste, portions large enough, will be visiting again soon.

Visited here for the first time 19th April. Although couldn't fault the food, it was very good, but choosing and ordering was quite awkward. Nothing like Indian restaurants we usually visit. It was more like a sports bar that served indian food. The atmosphere was quite chaotic. It's a very popular place and very reasonably priced, but not at all intimate and not the atmosphere we like.

I can't express enough how fantastic our experience was at this Indian restaurant in Newcastle! From the moment we walked in with our group of 17, we felt like honored guests. Sahil and Johnny, our attentive servers, were absolute gems, ensuring every moment was perfect. Their warmth and genuine care made the evening truly special. Not only did they flawlessly cater to our needs, but they also went above and beyond, offering assistance with decorations and checking in on us regularly. And the food? Incredible doesn't even begin to describe it! The portions were big, and the flavors were out of this world. I'll be recommending this place to everyone I know! Thank you, Sahil, Johnny, and the entire team, for a memorable experience!

Excellent food, good service. Can see me returning soon. They have loads of vegetarian options that merited their own menu and also gluten-free meals too. Lovely. Have been back since original visit and it was just as good, they also have outside seating out the back and on the roof. They have a good selection of beers and the prices are very reasonable.

Food was spot on as was service - my coffee was a little strong and staff dealt with this perfectly which made me feel like going back again knowing they take customer care seriously. Staff were friendly & helpful and good with the children. The food was v v good and the venue really lends itself to being family friendly and great for eating and watching the footie too! Ideal for large groups and smaller groups too! Looking forward to going back!

Tasty, big portioned food with loads of flavour! Service was brilliant as well, it was our first time coming to Soho Tavern, we were immediately welcomed with a smile. Once seated, the friendly waitress went through the whole ordering process and the range of food options, she also explained that we could easily take any extras home with us with the complimentary plastic boxes - this was a great idea, helping to reduce waste! All the food we ordered was extremely tasty, full of flavour, huge portions and all at a reasonable price. Strongly recommend the grill sharer boards. The app that you can order through is also very easy to use and accessible. It’s a shame we don’t live more local otherwise we would make this a regular place we came to eat. Thank you for the great food and service.

We had a party of 8. Excellent hosts, wonderful waitresses, service and food was simply ace, loads of choice for both food and drink. For sport, I think we counted at LEAST 10 tv's....wasn't just one football match on either. A quality place, done out really well. For a good relaxing meal/evening out its got to be Soho Tavern who get a 10 out of 10 from us. The best for sure!!

Great place, really relaxed bar with full restraunt loads of tables. Was busy when we were in, staff all friendly and helpful. Loads of veggie/vegan food and happy to make sundries vegan too! Our family went over from South sheilds and it was worth a journey!

Odd way of ordering food. You have to order your starters, eat them and then order your main courses. This still didn't stop the wrong dishes arriving. Food is good though, even if it's not what you ordered.

2nd visit here tonight. Had a fancy for a decent curry, and boy it didn’t disappoint! I can only say the food here is absolutely amazing! Freshly cooked and delicious! Could have kept eating…! The service is fast, professional and polite. The manager Johnny is really friendly and welcoming.

Not recommended, I ordered paneer and chicken tikka masala today, and it tasted like I was having dessert rather than dinner, too much sweet gravy. Neither authentic Indian restaurant nor taste.

Food amazing staff helpful and friendly definitely recommend!

Was really looking forward to trying this place and when you go in it's very nice and decorated to a high standard. We ordered starters which were lovely however it was £9.90 each for our drinks. We ordered our mains which were currys which were very disappointing I make better currys at home. The portion sizes were poor. We didn't enjoy it and left before finishing our mains. All in all we spent almost 80 pounds.

The ambiance was delightful, and the starters were truly enjoyable both in taste and portion size. However, I found the Biryani to be less to my liking. Additionally, I observed some room for improvement in the service

This place is an authentic restaurant with indian cusines and ambient interiors. However, the staters and sides are excellect and price worthy but i didn't like the main courses especially with biryani's i was bit dissapointed with the taste. On top of that, this place is worth visiting once.

Helpful friendly staff, enjoyable food.

It used to be my go-to spot for a spicy meal, but my recent visit left me with a bad taste in my mouth, quite literally. The dishes were so overwhelmingly spicy that they were nearly inedible. It seems like the chef mistook spice for flavor, as the heat completely overshadowed any other taste. What was once a delightful culinary experience has turned into a painful ordeal. It's disappointing to see a restaurant lose its touch with balance and nuance. To make matters worse, the lack of options for those who prefer milder flavours is concerning. Until Soho Tavern can find the right balance between heat and taste, I'll have to find my spicy fix elsewhere.

First time visited and certainly won’t be the last. From the moment of arriving, being seated quickly the experience was 5* Food was outstanding 10/10 We went for the Boneless Grill, Chilli Cheese Chips, Onion Bhaji’s, Chicken Punjabi, Lamb on the Bone with Garlic naan I can’t wait to come back to try the rest of the menu! Was very surprised at this place having drove past it many time. What a lovely place with lovely surroundings and fantastic decor. The service was 2nd to none and couldn't do enough to help you. Prices were very reasonable and food was absolutely fantastic. We were served by a young Irish lad called Chris. Nothing was to much to ask from him. Very helpful and polite. A must for everyone to try

Myself and family visited for my daughter’s 13th birthday tonight. The food was outstanding, probably one of the nicest Indians in ages and that is saying something as we ate in Kai Kia Newcastle last month. We ordered a wide selection of items from the menu. The restaurant is light, bright, modern and nipping clean. The staff are engaging and actually look like they enjoy their job. Johnny is a total legend. Trust their recommendations and you won’t be disappointed. I would highly recommend this restaurant. They even surprised my daughter with a cake and candle. D x
