Soha's Royal Cuisine in Dudley

We have been to sohas a few times now and the food has always been lovely , fresh , hot and extremely good value for money. The staff are very friendly and you can take your own drinks will definitely be going again.

We have had various favourite Balti/curry houses in Lye and surrounding area over the years but when our last favourite, Spice Village, closed we decided to cast the net wider as Lye has become really run down of recent and we no longer enjoy being there. We had spotted Soha’s when it was in the old Chinese restaurant premises at Stourbridge but then it closed down. We saw it has moved to the old Waterfront Balti premises at Brierley Hill so gave it a go. Absolutely no regrets, the food is brilliant, you can taste every herb and spice, meat is good quality and all is cooked fresh to order. The welcome is always warm and there are often Asian diners - which is a good sign that the food is authentic! The menu is quite unusual, some tried and tested stuff but then new things to try, including some sharing platters. I wish the restaurant the best of luck keeping going and keeping prices reasonable in the present climate, please give this place a go and support them!

Was sad to find Sohas had closed in Stourbridge but so happy when we saw it in Brierley hill and Laura was there to greet us ! Excellent food and service . Great value for money like eating at a friends home ! Will be a regular visit from us ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This restaurant has been closed for some time now as it has moved to new premises formerly occupied by the Waterfront Balti. If you liked it before well it's even better now. Great food service. Unlicensed with easy parking. What's not to like?

I loved this place when it first opened. We just had a takeaway and my husband had had to pour water off his chicken corn balti. The chicken was tough. The only conclusion we can come to is it had been frozen and then warmed up

I order from Soha's once every week or so. Last week I placed an order and for the first time since ordering for months it was terrible service. Our delivery came and the driver had to take it back as he realised he had given us the wrong one. He didn't explain fully and just drove off, he came back 6 minutes later with ours but once we had opened the bag in the kitchen ready to serve we noticed that half of the food had already been eaten! We rang up the restaurant and they sent out a fresh order which arrived 25 mins later. The food is great but we were not happy with the service that evening and lack of customer service. The order should of been checked before given us our right one as someone had already started eating it.

Visited sohas with my family and it was amazing experience,Excellent service Very tasty food Pleasant atmosphere. Will highly recommend.

First visit to Sohas and must say I was very impressed, young professional staff, very accommodating and attentive. Excellent menu with plenty of dishes to choose from. Each dish was very tasty, you could taste each ingredient, the lamb was succulent and tender. Had a great meal with the family, will be retuning soon.

Soha's is our weekly indian and before the lockdown we would go to eat in the restaurant every Tuesday or Wednesday. The resturant food is usually great but we've had a not-so good experience before with their take-away. Despit this we've been missing it so much that we decided to try again with take-away. We ordered last week through JustEat and it was delivered on time in about 45 minutes. We were also very pleased that this take-away was completely unlike our first take-away and was just as tasty as the eat-in food :-) Our second "lockdown" take-away from them was last night and again delivered in about 45 minutes and really tasty so now we'll be having one a week as a treat to keep us going during lockdown but looking forward to when we can get back to eating in the restaurant and chatting to the great waitress Laura. Keep up the good work guys!

We ordered a takeaway and waited 2 hours for delivery. The food when it finally arrived was not good at all. We had unseasoned, soggy pakoras and bhaji followed by a distinctly average tikka masala and a very odd pathia. The pathia was bright red, overly sweet and contained strange lentils. Was very disappointed and will not be eating from here again.

I ordered a delivery when my food arrived it was already cold my pizza was terrible didnt come with what i ordered on it also the chicken was not cooked it was squishy and pink also the dough was wet and squishy the delivery took a hour and a half

My partner and I visited on Saturday 11th Jan, 2019, for the second time.Food: good (my partner would say very good). Service: friendly, polite and efficient. Prices: moderate, especially if you are vegetarian. Ambience: pleasant, comfortable, and quite smart – once you get inside the restaurant area itself (see below). The premises are licensed for selling alcohol.This Indian restaurant seems to get much less busy than its nearest local rival. I wonder whether this is largely because of its rather unprepossessing exterior and entry hall. You enter through what feels like a side door (as most of the ground floor is occupied by a kitchen furniture shop) into a rather bare hallway with a flight of stairs to your left and a lift in front of you that says it can only be used in the presence of a member of staff. If you ascend the stairs you must then walk another 20 feet before the corridor opens out and the 1st floor restaurant proper comes into view. Having got this far – and (judging by the small number of diners when we visited) I suspect that quite a few prospective customers don't - you discover that the restaurant is a spacious and comfortably furnished single room where there are clean and attractively decked-out tables with a choice of uphostered chairs or (equally padded) banquette-stye seating. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the décor generically tasteful with little or no ethnic kitsch. However, if you like bustle and noise you may be disappointed as when we visited only about three of the tables were occupied. There was a background of soft instrumental Indian-style music that was not intrusive if you just wanted to talk. The staff are attentive and take pains to ask you how hotly spiced you like your food. The default seems to be 'mild' so if you are a fan of hot curries then you should make this known. My girlfriend liked her spring roll starter and vegetable biriani main a lot. (She rarely eats all of her rice but she did this time). My tandoori fish I thought was a little under-spiced but still very acceptable. I enjoyed my spinach-based main course (sarsoon da saag) which I have not encountered elsewhere although it is said to be popular in the Punjab. Our bill, including papadoms and two glasses of wine, came to £31.95 for the two of us which I thought was very reasonable.

I cannot speak highly enough about this restaurant. It is simply delicious food. The texture, colours and flavours are out of this world. It is quite simply magical food. The staff are wonderful and make the whole eating experience all the more special. Anyone visiting Stourbridge or living in Stourbridge is missing out if they do not visit this restaurant and taste this luciouss food. It is a life experience that cannot be missed! Do it, do it, do it!!!!!

After trying to find a really good Indian, we finally found one Sohas, It’s just on the lights at Old Swinford, Stourbridge plenty of parking space behind the building. The food is beautiful, the staff are very pleasant and have time for their customers. Very polite service and can provide pizzas for the children. Lovely little bar....love it!

I'm not the biggest fan of Indian food but Soha's was very well placed to eat after a wine tasting over the road. Although, to my surprise, it also does Italian meals we all decided to stay with Indian. The food really was good - it was the first time I got home and didn't head instantly for the Rennies (other indigestion tablets are available!!). Laura, our server was really helpful and pleasant - as were the other members of staff we came into contact with. I would definitely go back again.

There are lots of curry restaurants to choose from in the local area but don't bother - this is the best! We've tried a lot of curries and were blown away by Soha's. Fresh and delicious. Beautiful light naan. Madras actually had heat to it (my husband and I like our dishes hot) but not overpowering. Friendly service, relaxed ambience. Would recommend very highly.

We visited Soha's in the light of its local reputation a few months ago and returned recently. Both service and food continue to be excellent. It's lovey to be able to chat with the chef and hear about the thoughtful way he puts his dishes together. Keep up the good work!!

We had not eaten at Sohas before, but tonight’s meal would suggest we’ve been missing something. Both service & food this evening were excellent. We both chose vegetable samosa as a starter: crispy, with tasty filling, nicely spiced & well presented. My wife had sea-bass as her main, delicately spiced & a whole fish, again superbly cooked & presented & very good value. As Vegetarian, the vegetable jalfrezi was different, more source & tomato, but tasty & with a good mix of vegetables. The dahl makni was good & the chapati fine, if a little on the plump side (more like roti). Altogether a good meal at a very reasonable price.

I have visited this restaurant with my family of 6 people on 28th September, Saturday night.

We visited Soha's early Saturday evening with our two sons. The restaurant looked beautiful and smelt beautiful. Everything is cooked using fresh ingredients so you can order any dishes (from menu or the takeaway menu) exactly as you like them. I wanted no carbs so I ordered Burli chicken (so tasty) and the chef cooked me a side dish of vegetables jalfrezi style (yummy). My son loves egg fried rice so they changed the rice dish and chopped a little chilli for him to try as he had requested. My son had a Special 'tikka burger with plain chips rather than spicy chips and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the pathia and gorgeous peshwari naan. People were coming in as we were leaving but it was quiet. I wanted to write this review because they deserve to be busy all the time. At Soha's you get a lovely warm welcome, tailor-made delightful food, fair prices and a lovely environment. Thank you for looking after us so well.

Visyed on Saturday night with family. The welcome was very warm. The menu was quite small but the food we chose was delicious. Popadoms, nan breads and rice very fresh. My husband usually orders a dry tandori chicken or shaslik dish when we go out to an indian but unfortunately they didn't offer anything like that except for a tandori mixed grill priced at £19.95. This would of been far to big for him and a waste of money. I would suggest perhaps a dish to suit be added to the menu. Overall a very enjoyable evening and would recommend giving Soha's a visit. It is fully licensed with a large choice of drinks.

The most compelling thing about the visit to this establishment was the welcoming, friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to assist an elderly couple, one in a wheelchair, access the restaurant. The access isn't ideal but the staff were so helpful and whilst we were there two other customers in wheelchairs were helped in. Six Stars for all that.

It’s great to have a good quality Indian restaurant on our doorstep. Service is friendly and I quite liked the music (although it was a bit loud for my taste). The menu doesn’t look as extensive as the ones I’m used to, but it is really only a starting point. If you want to tweak it, the chef Soha will come and have a chat and sort you out. And all dishes come with three levels of heat. Everything is clearly cooked from scratch - no warmed up sauces here. The pilau rice, for example, is totally different colour from many you see, much darker because it starts with glazed fried onions. And the havla is to die for. Our go to Indian.

Well we’re do I start, orders a meal from this restaurant one Balti lamb and chicken, one chicken boons , and a chicken korma, I have never had to do this before, but it was the worst meal ever... phoned to complain, owner came to house and inspect food very apologetic about meal, but said he would replace asap, we said ok fine, two hours later still no food, phoned again spoke to owener who said is chef had left, so we could not have meal!!!!! Then put the phone down, so four hours no food.. I will never use this restaurant again, very bad

Our first visit to this new local restaurant. Attending a charity evening in aid of Mary Stevens hospice. But discovered a great little gem of a restaurant. Excellent professionally prepared fresh food and friendly efficient staff. Looking forward to many delicious meals.

6 of us went last night 25.5.19 and I thought the food was excellent, my starter was good and the main course (Lamb Hyderabadi) was the best I had ever had, so much tender lamb, faultless. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the owner who is also the main chef introduced himself and was very nice and enthusiastic about his cooking. The place is licensed but you are allowed to take your own drinks which is a big plus, saying that the lagers are not over expense. All in all had a very enjoyable meal, and will go back.

Where do I start with this gem in Oldswinford? I have been a regular customer for the past 3 - 4 months, gradually working my way through the menu. I have yet to have a meal I haven't liked, with my list of favourite dishes expanding. The front of house staff are very welcoming and nothing appears to be too much trouble. Dishes can be cooked to personal preference and the quality of food is both excellent and consistent. The chefs have a real talent.

Well I’ve finally found a good place to eat! Food was excellent - freshly cooked, the chicken was fantastic! Great service and a real gem.

Great evening with friends, the star of the show was the food. A buffet, each dish freshly prepared. Fish, lamb, chicken and vegetarian, all excellent flavours, tender meats, sublime sauces, all dente veg. This was a show stopper night, but a normal evening here for the chef and staff, aiming to please, which they did absolutely, judging by the feedback from friends that came.

Had a lovely meal tonight, delicious flavours and friendly staff in a relaxed setting. We will definitely be back, looking forward to trying some different dishes.

What a fabulous night, just returned home from an extremely fun evening at sohas royal cuisine. The food was fabulous, freshly cooked and the veggie choice was 1 of the best I have ever tried. Service was charming, and ambience lovely. This is the 1st time I have been back to this restaurant in 3 years due to a rather bad experience there. The new owners are truly lovely and did everything to ensure we had a brilliant night. All proceeds went to Mary Stevens hospice which is a total bonus. I will 100% be visiting again, definitely recommend .

Starter's first Chicken Pakora and Onion Bhaji both very good. This was followed by Lamb Rogan Josh, not quite what I expected but pleasant enough and Lamb Hyderabadi (really nice) all served with Mushroom Rice, Keema Nan and chips, all really good.

I had read some good reviews of Soha’s and decided to give it a try. I have never visited any of the restaurants that had previously inhabited the building, always put off by the fact it was upstairs.

We are residents of Oldswinford and curry fans so had to give Soha a try. We have now frequented the restaurant often and enjoy regular deliveries. If you have a delivery the food is as hot, fresh and tasty as eating in. The service is also speedy and you can pay by card at your front door.

Visited Soha’s on recommendation and so glad I did. The fish curry and sesame naan was absolutely delicious. My family were just as satisfied as I was with the food . The waiting staff were very attentive, nothing was too much trouble - meeting dietary requirements without issue.

Had noticed this restaurant changed hands a few months ago and offered a good price for 3 courses available Mon - Wed.

We had a lovely meal, the food was served hot and the taste was fresh and clean. Service was a little slow but it was understood that there were problems in the kitchen and the staff were very apologetic. Price was very good considering the quality of the food. We will definitely go again.

From poppadom to pudding everything was perfect including the ambiance which is calm and tranquil. The owner Sohar, along with his staff, were very welcoming to myself and hubby. It was great to be served by Laura who is a real asset to the restaurant. Obviously didn't meet the Chef but he deserves a special mention as everything was spot on and freshly cooked. You can also choose the heat of your dish - mild, medium or hot which is great. This restaurant is classy without being pretentious plus prices were unbeatable for the quality. We are so happy to have a restaurant of this calibre on our doorstep. We will definately be back and if you haven't been yet you should give it a try - doubt you will be disappointed.

I consider this restaurant to be the best Indian restaurant in Stourbridge. Very clean and bright interior,Food is excellent, staff friendly and attentive, I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I have now been to this restaurant a few times. Last night we had a fantastic meal here yet again. Sea bass was superb and Chicken pathia really tasty. All the food was freshly cooked, really tasty and much much better than the competition in the local area. Also excellent service.

Well - Had a takeaway tonight from Soha's as a first and it did not disappoint. I'd rate this restaurant up their with some of Birmingham's best flagships - Asha's, Lasan Group and Itihaas but at half the price and just as tasty. As a Bengali and food lover of all different Indian flavours - you can instantly tell the cooking/presentation is modern with balance flavours and subtle levels of spice even if you like your food with some kick but not over-powering. Have not found a place like this across our Borough for years - I cannot wait to go and dine inside and will be ordering again next week for sure - Sujoy

Well - given the positive reviews of this restaurant, my mates and I, all seasoned curry fans, thought we'd give this place a chance - £10.50 deal was also attractive. We were not disappointed. The place was nearly empty (on a weeknight) but hopefully people will come round to the wonders of Soha's and change all this. The menu - it's short but perfectly formed. Nearly all of the dishes were new to us and combined interesting combinations without become (con)fusion food. First the poppadoms - they looked like they had been home made, with spices and herbs and tasted great with the great spread of accompaniments. My starter of marinated chicken was fantastic, tasty, juicy well spiced with a bit of a kick, nice salad and side sauces. Went for a Lamb Dopiaza, although the more adventurous meals in the other sections looked great. This was a revelation - you can have the baltis spiced to your liking, so you can be a bit more adventurous. The dopiaza was great. Great spicing, good amount of meat, and the onions were cooked to perfection - I could have just had them and been happy. Not oily and the bread (plain naan for 99p!) was amazing. A friend had one with sesame seeds and extra butter, which tasted even better. We also shared a rice with vegetables, and a plain rice, both great. Portions were just right - not as big as some baltis but quite rich so you didn't need any more - puddings looked nice too, so you wouldn't be too full up to enjoy one of them - the deal means that if there are enough of you, you could do some mixing and order an extra dish... No more to say really, apart from my friends having equally enjoyable meals. Will be coming back again, and again.... don't be put off by the stairs - they have a lift...

Soha's food is excellent, the menu is not your typical with some real delights, fish fritters to start were excellent as was the fish curry, the Takka Tak was generous and wonderfully cooked, lovely food, and Sohail the owner is a really nice guy

Decided to give Soha's a try having had a terrible meal with previous restaurant operating at that location. Service was great throughout and the menu options made a nice change from the usual. Food was fresh cooked and much lighter than your regular oil laden curry. Average rating reflects start up teething problems with ordering.

My birthday treat from my wife was dinner at Soha's. She had been before a few weeks ago and raved about the food and service. I was not disappointed, The food is up there with any Indian in the area. The service was friendly and no request or question went unanswered, They were at pains to say the food was always freshly cooked and so it was.

The best place u want to be with your friends and have the best time as u won't get disappointed! Very nice staff and best service ever! Please try and u won't get disappointed!

Here visiting family from overseas, there were 6 adults and 1 toddler for dinner. The staff were attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The food was plentiful and very tasty. Definitely recommend.

Went with a large group of friends and family tonight. No complaints at all. Food was incredible! As someone who orders the same thing the majority of the time I ordered something new for a change. What a delight, this did not disappoint! Every one of us enjoyed our meals and the staff are all great. Fixed menu is excellent value for money. Will definitely be back and would recommend anyone to go

Just had an amazing meal here. Fabulous food with excellent service. Starter, main and a side for £10.50 absolutely brilliant. Food was all freshly cooked too. Cannot fault, looking forward already to my next visit.

Recently ate here the food was horrendous the chicken was that raw it was still clucking I’m surprised people come here the masala was basically food coloured chicken horrible there lucky we paid a fraction of the bill

Went here with two of my friends and was extremely delighted with the venue, food and service. The chef came out to explain to us that he was not happy with the fish that the supplier had provided and he quickly russled up an exceptional chicken dish for me which was fantastic. Couldn't fault the place, shame not more people visit this place as it was very quiet. Would highly recommend to give it a go.

Had a great night at Soha for my daughters birthday. Great to see a restaurant that doesn’t have a massive extendable menu with overwhelming choice. Just a tight list of starters, chefs specials, grills and a few curries.

Had an amazing evening there with few of my friends! Ordered the starters and mains and everything was cooked to perfection! The atmosphere, music and service was excellent as well! Definitely will be coming back and absolutely recommend this to everyone!

The restaurant was lovely, the food and service was great they were kind and polite. The place was greatly set out and it was a lovely experience. I would recommend this for everyone who likes food.

Went here before Christmas and it was superb but second visit will be my last, the food was awful the chef hasn’t got a clue not the original chef by the way, we weren’t the only ones complaining in there I think every table was, the lamb chops were like fatty old bones nothing like lamb chops, we also had the king prawns again which were ok before but this time there were three small over cooked dried up prawns they charge £6.00 for it’s a disgrace
