40 minutes drove just to see it's close opening hours wrong

Middle Eastern restaurant, Al Shab Al Jordanian, excellent service I ordered a shisha and it was good, not excellent. The kunafa was clearly heated and not fresh. The price of the shisha is high. You must know the prices before ordering.

I went there this weekend Saturday 21st September about 18:30 First, they took the order which was Kunafa and shisha They took so long time around 20 minutes or so to bring the Kunafa, I then asked about the shisha and was told by that person it will take more than usual and he is sorry as the coal was not ready, that was fair enough if was the real situation When I got in there it was a one man only who entered the premises before me and made the order before me and there was that couple as well were sitting already there I noticed then the one person before me started having more people on his table and making orders after I have, and they were very argumentative and pushy with the other staff (they called him Ibrahim) and obviously they were to serve (because they did not have long time)! So they ended up being served all the shishas they ordered not the one only before my order and they were also served food and so have the couple, food first then shisha, I was really on my end that time and I decided to leave and then there was that Ibrahim bringing me the shisha!!! I told him how upset I was and I was going to leave, he replied to me (that I can leave if I wish and I have no right to complain as there is a QUEUE )!! And I was served up to my position in the queue which was far from the truth The food was to be served by a different staff than the one to serve the shisha, so the shisha was to be served by the person who ordered it first on its own and the next and so ,, and the food to be served the same way by a different staff ,,, I ended up being served the last one after I was the second or the third person to order shisha took about 50 minutes ,, instead they served the couple with shisha and food and before that whole group of pushy or may be friendly to them which was far beyond rude and inappropriate ,, in addition to that they totally ignored me after and when I was going out to pay the other one who told me in the beginning he was SORRY was there and turning his face away from me when handing me the receipt (like I was begging or some bad stuff in there ,, I saw the receipt is right and there was a charge for a second Kunafa that I already ordered before for a take away ,, I asked if that Kunafa was ready and another staff answered yes it was ,,, the first staff that was taking the payment asked me to have a look at the receipt which again was completely abusive as am sure he did deliberately to make some pressure on me , I indeed had no choice but to let it go and again he handed me back the receipt the same way he did before , that was a disgraceful way to treat a customer just for his asking to be treated fairly ,, not the UK customer service manners (they were possible all Syrians and the other four or five pushy customers were Saudis) , I felt totally bullied and ganged against I however made my way to another staff(who seemed fairly polite even from another visit he served me ,, I asked if I can see the business owner and he told me that he is the manager and how can he help ,, I told him about all and he apologised repeatedly and advised me yes I was right on how the shisha should be served but he had a sad accident in there and showed me his terribly burned hand(and I wish him a very speedy recovery)and said the shortage happened because of his burn and again he apologised but I told him I did not know that was the situation and wished him well Apart from that nice man ,, the others were totally manners free Sadly I was hoping that would have been only a one time only bad service but unfortunately I looked at the reviews and there were other few(even though a little older) those certified my experience and assured that is a no go place if you care for your dignity even the minimum level unless the owner is unaware of this disgrace yet and they look at those feedbacks and care to take action by putting polite staff who know what customer service mean Thanks

The food was very tasty! The service could have been a little quicker, but it was tried very hard. We found it very cheeky to expect a flat rate tip of 10%.

Great food, great atmosphere but short late stay . We would love to change the closing time as most of your customers are not happy with it. However, I would like to thank Hady and Ibrahim for their exceptional customer service. They're amazing!

The hygiene of this place is the worst in the city of Edinburgh. I entered with my friend to grab some dinner, and show a shelf of rotten bananas there, even a thought of it makes me cringe. I believe they serve old expired food as well.

The food is tasty and actually decent. It's not real Lebanese from back home but more fusion - which still works great. The Shisha is sadly fake flavours, despite asking the staff for confirmation about the flavours they were a real let down for a connoisseur. The parking is pathetic! Made to move my car outside and pay for parking, when I could have easily been accommodated in the car park as there was plenty of space..

Food was excellent, tasty and well presented. Drinks equally good. Atmosphere nice and relaxed. Service professional

Excellent customer service and a welcoming atmosphere. The lounge is well-maintained and clean, with stylish decor. Despite the high quality, prices are very affordable, making it a great place to relax and enjoy sheesha. Highly recommended!

went to this place on 30th April, only went there for a cocktail and shisha cocktails were unbelievable. not so much the shisha he brought me my usual that i get everwhere. (i specialise in shishas since thats what i do for work in coventry) i ordered my BlueMist and Love66 mix but blue mist is only additive to other flavours but the man did me a 50/50 mix. that wouldve been fine. but these flavours were very odd. it tastes very minty which i questioned does he use the same shisha for all flavours he said yes. while smoking i found a LIVING bug swimming in the water of the shisha. told him and he changed the water for me. i made him try the shisha cause flavours were very odd and he didnt disagree and said hes not normally on the shisha, for a 20 pound shisha youd think it would be smokeable. after replacing the shisha (after the bug) we sat downed our drink and just left after 5 mins

Not so good shisha. Really old fashioned. Don't recommend to semone, who's looking for good experience. Food seems good but we don't have chance to try it

Nice place and food. Ibrahim’s service was fast and he is very professional and well-versed with his duties.

Food was good and the staff were friendly. The plastic tent room was chilly and it’s quite dim at night. The pictures make it look cozy but I kept my jacket on to stay warm. The music was this annoying autotuned pop remix playlist. Overall I just wanted to hurry up and leave and the food couldn’t overcome that. Maybe on a warmer night or sunny afternoon it would be better.

While the food was very good, the service left something to be desired. 4 of us went, and were sat out back In the large poly-tent they have set up. I'm sure in warmer months it's fantastic, but the strong winds and biting chill weren't completely stopped by the scattered heaters and plastic walls. We placed our various orders, including an extra pot of their "nuclear" sauce. Food arrived, which was all very good. You have to pay extra if you want chips with your burger, and if you don't specify a karafe of water or tap water, you'll pay for that as well. The sauce wasn't brought out at the same time as the meal. So we waited, leaving some chips to use with it. And waited. And waited. Eventually I called a server over to ask about it, only to be informed he only dealt with the shisha, not the food but he would ask for us. By the time the sauce did eventually arrive, our diminished stock of chips was all but cold. The sauce really wasn't that hot, definitely not nuclear like the menu claimed. It was similar to Tabasco, but thicker and richer. Despite the massive delay in us receiving a single pot of sauce, it wasn't removed from the bill. So yes, while the food is good, you pay for every little bit and have to wait a good while for simple things. And if you're going outside of spring and summer, keep your coats on when eating otherwise you'll be frozen.

Unfortunately my burger had a small piece of sharp ended very strong metal wire in it about 3cm long which would have probably damaged my insides if I’d not have caught it in my mouth. The food here is really tasty and we’ve ordered a lot in the past but just wanted to mention this in case anybody gets hurt. They answered my phone call and offered a replacement meal then I’d emailed sofia’s asking to send them a photo of it so they can work out where it came from but no response . Hopefully they figured out. As I said the food here is the best burger in town.

We ordered via deliveroo. We liked the food Ordered whole chicken platter. Chicken was ok but some of the area are bit hard. Saffron rice was hard to chew. Fries are good. Hummus is good,baba ghanoush is nice. Lebanese bread is ok.

Everything was nice but we were smoking and playing the cards, a guy from staff came and said you are not allowed to play cards with no explanation, i think he just wanted us gone and he made this excuse. I always go to this cafe whenever i visit Edinburgh but will never go here again.

The food is very delicious and the people here are wonderful. There is a caterer named Ibrahim who was smiling at me and was very welcoming. There I will definitely return to this place.

Horrible treatment! I requested my bread to be heated up and the waiter said no because we provide it cold. However the atmosphere is good and the shisha just don’t order bread.

Ich war am Sonntag mit ein paar Freunden vor Ort um genüsslich einen Shisha zu rauchen und etwas zu essen. Leider sind wir maßlos enttäuscht worden - der Service (man kann es eigentlich nicht Service nennen) brauchte eine halbe Stunde um uns zu bedienen (der Laden war leer). Nach über einer Stunde kamen dann unsere Nachos und die bestellten Wasserpfeifen. Leider beides ungenießbar - die Shisha war katastrophal und von den Nachos haben wir Magenprobleme davon getragen. Absolut nicht zu empfehlen.

Great atmosphere, chilled out vibe, place recently renovated, big seating area. Went in for a shisha, some mint tea, everything served quickly and nicely. Very pleasant staff with huge knowledge about hookah,Hadi gave us some useful tips ! Worth visiting for hookah, food, drink and atmosphere, will return when back in Edinburgh

The food was good but expensive for being in an outdoor setting, it was so cold that some of us got sick from it the next day. The food became cold after 5mins aswell. They served food late aswell and not all together. I don't recommend sitting in outdoors, maybe take away is fine or indoors sitting in if that is an option which we didn't get and we were not aware of. Not ideal for kids.

Food was OK but wouldn't eat from here again. The prices were a bit high but not crazy just not worth it, too, be honest. Service was so bad. I asked 3 times if they had a space to pray, which is very common in halal restaurants or places and if they had said no it was fine however kept being told "let me find out" but never told me anything and had to ask a few times for drinks that I already ordered and wasn't given them & then to top it off I went to the toilets to wash my hands & the staff sent someone behind me to check what I was doing. I wanted shisha after food but after the Below average food and terrible service I paid and left, ended up in Urban lounge for a shisha.
