Sofia's in Edinburgh, City of

We enjoyed dinner twice during our stay in Edinburgh. The roasted chicken was delicious and the feta salad was tasty enough that we ordered it again the next time we were there. We enjoyed the slow roasted lamb shank that time at Sofia’s. We also their sticky toffee pudding for dessert which we were told was made with dates… it was scrumptious!! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Delicious Lebanese food. Very convenient when staying in Hampton Inn. Ample portions. Healthier option for local food.

Went for the lunch special around 2.30 today with my partner, so wasn't too busy. From the moment we went in though we were greeted enthusiastically by Faris (at least that's what the receipt says his name was). He had great chat, and made us feel welcomed and relaxed in our environment. Service was truly excellent. Food was delicious with generous portion sizes, the halloumi chips, wings and hummus i had were great. Would definitely eat here again if in Edinburgh, terrific choice for lunch, value was second to none.

Food was delicious and definitely recommend the lunch menu for value for money purposes! Felt full for the entire day and fed two with two drinks for less than £35 including a tip! Definitely worth a visit at lunch as value in comparison to nearby restaurants is second to none. The waiter who served us was lovely - only thing to note is I did feel slightly uncomfortable at the pushing of alcohol as nether of us wanted to drink today, I appreciate an initial ask but every drinks suggestion seemed to be alcohol themed

Order was extremly puncutal, Staff was lovely and very friendly when I picked it up and the food was beyond delicious. Some of the best Chips and Sticky Toffee Pudding I've had in the UK. Pricing was more than fair, too. Would absolutely recommend!

We had two burgers, which, looking back, was not the smartest choice, the burgers (we had lamb burgers) were fine but nothing I would come back for. The service was nice, but despite two of us being there, we had only one set of cutlery 😀.

Went because my guest wanted Lebanese, location suited us and good reviews. Pretty dissapointed. Food was decidely average, each item on the dry side and well below that of other similar in Edinburgh. Service indifferent, and largely absent. Several times we had to get up to attract attention. Only plus point was lunch deal meant did not pay too much.

Superb food with friendly staff who were attentive but not intrusive. The sharing platter was delish. Great desserts too. Had a lovely relaxed night during the busy festival period.

Faris could be one of the best waiters in all of Scotland. Very good food, really enjoyed it. Very nice atmosphere, there were barely any people so there was so much space to sit. You should go here just because of Faris.

Faris and the rest of the staff was amazing, food was spot on and if you are looking for a low key place to try incredible Lebanese food, this is the place!

We were lucky that Sofia's is conveniently attached to the hotel we stayed at during our visit to Edinburgh. We were very hungry after all our travel and soo happy we went to Sofia's for lunch as we walked out with our tummies contently full. The lunch menu has lots of great Lebanese foods to choose from. The atmosphere is bright, cheery and very comfy. The staff were friendly and attentive. Food was freshly made (you can see the chef at work behind the counter) with little wait. Everything was delicious and great blend of spices.

Faris was a great server, made great plate and drink recommendations! Attentive and personable. Food was seasoned well and prices reasonable.

The food was not originally Arabic … need improvement in taste .. money not worth it . Food get late .. and we didn’t receive the order within good time and order,, we received the salad and the fries with the main dish , not with the starters .. Need to be improved..

We got the half chicken in original sauce, grilled chicken tenders in original sauce, and lamb kebab. Everything was good but the half chicken was dry so would recommend the tenders instead. The original sauce was really tasty! The saffron rice was good but a bit bland.

The receptionist is rude , so I had to leave with my family without even setting.

Sofia’s is a delightful Lebanese restaurant with an amazing menu, terrific atmosphere and super friendly staff, especially our server, Aleeza. Mezze platter is a winner because you get to taste a bit of everything! Exceptional falafels ( moist not like the dry ones in the US), too!

Have been to Sofia's Lounge twice in the last 3 days and the food and service is amazing! They have a large selection of starters, main dishes, plus desserts to die for! They also have a drinks menu that includes cocktails, mocktails, soft drinks, milkshakes, hot coffee drinks, etc. Their prices are very reasonable! Both times we were taken care of by Aleeza, our server who was very sweet and professional! I highly recommend Sofia's Lounge if you are ever in Edinburgh!

Regularly order from Uber eats from them :) me and my boyfriend share a mix platter with delicious chicken, spectacular hummus, halloumi fries and sweet potatoes x worth a try !! X

Unfortunately totally disappointed with the Lebanese food. Only the names of the dishes were Lebanese.

Wonderful food and relaxing atmosphere. We loved Hiba’s suggestions on the menu and she even brought out a special treat for our friend’s birthday. We are visiting from the U.S. and this is some of the most delicious Lebanese food we have had.

The best Arabic food we arrived today to Edinburgh with my family and we were looking for food after spending over 2 weeks in Scotland it was very delicious.

We ordered the lamb shank roast and the veggie stew with Halumi. Both the dishes tasted excellent. I ordered the lamb shanks spicy and excellent and it was prepared spicy according to my request. The manager took our order and ensured the food was prepared according to our specifications and was able to cater to any special request ( additional lamb gravy).

Absolutely beautiful food, freshly prepared and cooked in front of us. Everything was lovely and staff were great in explaining what each dish was. Cant wait to go back. Highly recommend and great value

Tabbouleh 10/10, kibbeh 7/10, moussaka 5/10, hummus 8/10, sweet potatoes 10/10, fried halloumi 8/10, falafel 5/10. We are stingy with bread.

We did have a big table and the service was a little slow to begin with, but the food was fabulous and I would recommend it for everyone.

Pathetic service The entire Edinburgh is accepting the queen notes but this restaurant has a problem. The service is pathetic while the people were having drinks we were told to take away. We wanted to sit and relax and have at hotel but take away we can order from anywhere. I wouldn't advise. While placing the order I was told chicken would come with pita bread so I shouldn't order extra and I received it without bread. I would request everyone first to avoid Hampton hotel and secondly just avoid Sofia. In case you are looking for an awful experience this is the place to dine.

Came in approximately 21:10, restaurant wasn't busy (one table finishing food), and have been told they can't take us in (closing time apparently 22:00). Have been offered takeaway as an alternative, fair enough, so we took the offer. We ordered 2x vegetable moussakas (totalling little over £30) and was deeply disappointed with the taste, namely the acidity of it, as we could barely feel any other flavour than deep sourness. Haven't enjoyed the meal at all, and wasn't able to say anything or change the order, as this was a takeaway, hence doing this here. It's a shame, as visited the place twice previously and food was much better on both occasions.

The restaurant is not worth a visit. The food was less than expected. The orders were Dawud Pasha's kofta (the taste is good, but the quality of the meat is not the same) Moussaka tastes just right Medium spiced

Had the most delicious kofta meshwi here – truly outstanding! The dessert was equally great. The staff are incredibly nice, the place is spotless, and the portion sizes are just right. Highly recommend!

We are staying at the hotel this restaurant is in. We have been there 5 times. Everything has been delicious. The lamb shank, saffron rice, half chicken, lamb burger and lamb bourek.

Our meal was wonderful, but our server, Mani, made it very special. As a treat for my wife, who was celebrating her birthday, Mani set her up with an amazing dessert with the baklava and Salted Caramel Pretzel milkshake, which was unbelievable! Would definitely come back! Mani made it outstanding!

We visited Sofias last night for dinner. We did not have a booking and were very quickly accommodated by the wait staff. We ordered a mezze board and grilled chicken tenders to share. The food was delicious, the best Lebanese food we have had. Everything was very fresh, light and extremely tasty. We will be back 😃

Amazing and authentic! Loved every bite. Hiba was an outstanding head waitress and extremely friendly. Enjoyed a bottle of nice wine that was the manager's special. We spent a little more so we'd have take away. We'd absolutely come again. :)

Food 4/5: Loved the variety of choices there, and the lamb I had was quite nice. The baklava was also quite good. However, the smooth I had was a bit too thick and over-blended (the description says it should have mango chunks, but the result was a thick and homogeneous blend with no mango chunks). Service 5/5: My waiter was very nice and polite and attentive, and the food came out quickly.

Went in just for a smoothie. It took over 20 mins to arrive. The restaurant had 3 people in it and there were 5 staff. Never had a bad tasting smoothie before. This one was really disgusting and and atmosphere was tense and unfriendly. Hope the staff are OK. Not sure if they feel bad working there or were just having a bad day. Hope it improves soon.

Truly awful service. We had a large table, I get that. HOWEVER. There were A lot of wrong orders, missed orders. We were sat in the breakfast area of the hotel next door. Which was odd. We had to correct an insane amount of drinks orders. The management tried to gas light me into saying I'd ordered something I absolutely hadn't. Promised a replacement would be out 'fast' (long after everyone else had eaten). The bill was a shambles of over charging / never recieved items. If they can't handle a large table they should NOT accept them. Management did send some dessert to try to placate us, which was nice I guess. We won't return.

Disappointed with this place, expected a lot more. Like Lebanese food so went during the week for lunch as it is halal. Food didn’t really taste fresh and we waited a long time to get it. Wouldn’t recommend this branch, very average and underwhelming, staff could also do with a bit more enthusiasm.
