A gem just a 18 min walk from central Edinburgh. The dinner began with a very savory spice-filled drink. We shared the tandoori chicken, chicken korma, chicken makhanwala, and a lamb bhuna. We also ordered a plain naan. Not overly spicy and not salty. All important to me. We finished every morsel. Extremely good.

Our first time at Chaskaa and the food was 😋 delicious. And our waitress Kiran was brilliant! really helpful and lovely. They were pretty busy and we managed to get a table within 15 mins. The fish curry was the best we'd had! The aubergine curry was tasty too. We would definitely go back next time we're in Edinburgh.

Had takeaway for 5 last night, chose Chaskaa based on Google reviews. The food was fantastic. Every curry had a distinct flavour, unlike some restaurants where they can taste samey. We had... Chicken Karahi, chili garlic chicken, chicken tikka masala, paneer Karahi, dahl, brinjal, naans and rice. Portions were very big so loads left. Was just under £90 delivered. Very very good. New favourite Indian takeaway.

Love Chaksaa. Our favourite for many reasons: delicious food, relaxing atmosphere and charming service. Tonight we tried Amritsari Fish, Punjabi Murgh, chatpati gobi mater, tadka dal and chilli garlic king prawn. All amazing.

We arrived after walking 29,252 steps: famished, bereft. The atmosphere was promising, the staff friendly, the garlic coriander naan buttery. The portion sizes were fit for a Scottish king and the prices were as easy to stomach as the delicious murgh makhanwala (waiter very kindly corrected my pronunciation and informed me that it was in fact butter chicken and also that he liked my haircut). All jokes aside, fantastic restaurant and we very much hope to be back.

Chaskaa is my number 1 curry take away service. Like most Indian curry lovers, I have tasted many curries throughout Edinburgh and Chaskaa Punjabi Murgh - one of their specials is the best I have ever had and will continue to have. Their Chicken Pakoras are the best we have ever had, just as the onion bhajis were delightful. I have recommended this place to work collogues who have visited the restaurant to eat in and loved my recommendation: Karahi, Punjabi Murgh, both dishes they loved. I have been in the restaurant to collect my order and the staff are the best, I mean really could not get nicer people, very friendly and who take the honour of serving you, the same goes for the delivery person , we have seen a few different drivers and every single one of them makes you feel like 5 star service, the food, the packaging, the staff, everything is perfect. I would recommend. Just an FYI, you get money back on each order, its like a points loyalty system, on average we get £2 on each order back into our chaskaa account, it feels great after a few orders you end up with a free curry or even a free meal.

Probably in the top 3 Indians I’ve eaten at. Excellent service & hospitality from Raj. Provided with a tomato & coriander soup shot an entry, which prepares the pallet for what’s to come. Both starters & mains were delicious, well flavoured & fresh. Was quiet as it was a Sunday evening hence losing 1 star on atmosphere but that’s hardly their fault! We found it through Google reviews & easy to see why. Fab all round

Its a beautiful restaurant with kind people. The food taste is amazing and is so flavourful that it will stay with you. We had paneer butter masala, naan, and veg biryani. The paneer was very tasty and barely any oil. Though Biryani was very tasty what added to the taste was the salan. Coming from hyderabad, I have never tasted salad so flavourful. It was outstanding 👏 We will return till we are in Edinburgh.

Also highly recommend are the Tikka Shashlik, Peshwari Chops, Murgh Makhanwala, Murgh Kasturi. Butter naan is the best in Edinburgh.

I’ve been there to try indian food for the first time and an absolutely good experience! I’m not used to spicy food and asked to do more light, and the team had a lot of attention to attend it - i still felt quite spicy, but they offered me suggestions including a new dish in a light version, which I accepted and didn’t come 😅, but it’s okay. The food was good, and the costumer service is definitely a great point about this restaurant! I would definitely come back and recommend to friends!

Turned up on Saturday night only to find that I had booked for the wrong day and was a week early ! Despite being extremely busy the staff worked hard to fit us in, which is typical of the excellent and attentive service for this restaurant. As ever the food was excellent, good, honest, tasty, proper Indian food and extremely generous portions. Excellent value. Would recommend without hesitation and we will definitely be going back. Amazing 🤩 after watching the rugby today in Edinburgh, we wanted a good Indian curry so decided to choose chaskaa had Lamb shank which is yummy and tender. Very pleasant experience, definitely recommend this place.

Ordered food online and chose deliver time for an hour later. Phoned up after delivery time to get told that our order hasn’t printed out for them so it had not been started. We could then wait another half hour for food or cancel order. No offer of anything to make up for this error.

In 2023, We were a Saudi 🇸🇦 family of 4 adult and one child visited Edinburgh for few days then we found this indian resturant with high score starts. We've been there and were all atonished with their very delecious😋 food. We think this is One of the best indian food in the city👍👍👍. Problem is the parking was so limited and charged. Now on 2025, we came again for the second time with mother in law and same as before, we liked the food so much. Thanks for the good food.

Nestled just off Lothian Road in Edinburgh, Chaskaa Indian Restaurant is a charming little restaurant that exudes warmth and character. Its prime location places it conveniently near the Kings Theatre, Cameo Cinema, and the lush expanse of the Meadows. This makes it an excellent choice for a delightful dining experience, whether you’re planning to savour a meal before or after enjoying a performance at Usher Hall or the Lyceum Theatre, or perhaps before cheering on your favourite rugby team at Murrayfield Stadium. It's intimate and offers a culinary adventure across India. Do try their mocktails, especially the Chaskaa Special with strawberry and chilli and their Mojito - both are delicious. We tried of course, the poppadoms accompanied by a vibrant tray of condiments and our starters included Vegetable Samosas (£5.25), Monkfish Tikka (£8.95), and Chicken Tikka Shashlik (£6.75). For our main we went for The Prawn Kali Mirch (£14.50) featured succulent prawns cooked in a rich and creamy black pepper sauce. The Lazeez Lamb Curry (£12.95) was a testament to the art of slow cooking. The Paneer Karahi (£10.95) curry was a vegetarian delight. All complemented by Pilau Rice (£3.25) that was fluffy and fragrant, and a Tandoori Roti (£2.50) that was rm, and slightly crispy. We finished with the Gulab Jamun (£4.95). The warmth of the Gulab Jamun, combined with the rich, syrupy sweetness, made it a comforting and indulgent end to our meal. Had an amazing experience in Chaskaa restaurant! We love paneer, so we tried the Pudina Paneer Tikka, and it was the best we’ve had in Edinburgh—so soft and flavourful. And For mains, we had Saag Mushroom, Bhindi , and a couple of other dishes, all of which were delicious. The staff was super helpful, and when I asked for a drink recommendation, they suggested the Chaskaa Special absolutely amazing! Great food, great service we’ll definitely be coming back!"

Wish I'd taken some photos to share but we were too busy enjoying ourselves and the AMAZING food! We had 3 different starters and 3 different mains and all were delicious, all were shared with each other. Particularly recommend the lamb dishes. We've been lucky enough to enjoy some delicious meals at various different places and this was one of the best especially if you consider the reasonable pricing. PS thanks for the biryani recipe 😋

The lamb leg is very glutinous, and the naan tastes great when dipped in curry. It’s appetizing and requires two servings of naan to be satisfied.

Great food, great vegetarian options. Slightly put off by being immediately offered poppadoms and sauces without being told the price (in my experience, they’re free in most places), but other than that, staff were lovely and we really enjoyed our food!

We ordered pudina paneer tandoori as our main dish, accompanied by pilaf rice and mix veg karahi. The curry sauce served with the paneer tandoori was absolutely delicious, but the mix veg karahi was even more flavorful. Ria, our server, was incredibly sweet, courteous, and polite. She went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable dining experience.
