Sadly very disappointing experience this time, we order form the place quite often. It used to be our favourite Indian takeaway in Edinburgh. In our last order some items were missing and some were wrong, way smaller portions compared to the previous ones and just not the food delivery quality we were used to, especially given the price.

been using Chaskaa since they opened, food consistently fantastic , i went in to collect my takeaway order on Saturday evening, despite having 45 minutes it was not ready, turns out the online ordering system had messed up and they did not have the order, waited 10 minutes and food was ready. Got an email from the restaurant today apologising for the mix up and advising they had added a credit to my account as a goodwill gesture, all businesses have an issue at times but i guess it is how you deal with it that makes a difference, thanks Willie

Terrific food. My son and I were hungry so we shared 4-5 dishes and all were excellent. Staff was friendly and helpful. Will go again next time I'm in Edinburgh.

Very tasty food with good prices

Food, service, surroundings and ambience were all absolutely first class. Great place, with exceptional food. Had Bhutto palak, highway chicken tikka and aubergine masala which was awesome 😋. Nice wine selection with very reasonable price.

I’ve fallen in love with Indian food again thanks to this great place. Cannot fault it and huge difference from a lot of Indian restaurants that don’t “try” anymore and are middle of the road. Unlike this place which has pride in what it serves and the experience you get whilst there, thanks

Great Indian food, offering new creations (at least according to my experience), wonderful people working both in the service team and in the kitchen; and dare to ask for additional extra hot chilies and sauces, if you really like it hot, spicy and tasteful😄🌶👏

Outstanding delicious curry + great really friendly customer service

I recently ordered from Chaskaa Restaurant, Edinburgh, and I must say it was the worst Indian cuisine I’ve ever had in the UK. I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Karahi Paneer, expecting a flavorful and authentic meal. However, both dishes were incredibly disappointing. The Chicken Tikka Masala was completely tasteless, lacking the rich and creamy flavor that this dish is known for. The Karahi Paneer was equally bad, with a stale taste that made it inedible. I ended up throwing both dishes in the bin, as they were simply not worth eating. I was really looking forward to a nice meal, but unfortunately, Chaskaa failed to deliver on even the most basic expectations. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for quality Indian food.

Delicious with friendly service. I love the way they receive me n my husband. We received a a very delicious food with the suggestions of the staff. We loved to visit this restaurant again n again.

Found this Restaurant next door to our hotel, loved it so much we went back two nights in a row. Very good food, excellent service and friendly staff. Banjara lamb was best I’ve ever had. Chicken Grill was incredible. Thank you so much 😊 for your hospitality we,ll back soon when I’ll come to Edinburgh again.👌

One of the best Indian restaurants I have seen. The mixed grill is my favorite dish, the meat is well cooked, the curry is superb. Definitely a place You can check out.

This was our first time eating at chaskaa and we thourthly enjoyed everything we ate. The chicken in each dish was tender and flavorful and wonderfully spiced. We come to Edinburgh for the festival every other year and will definitely make chaskaa one of our stops. Glad we found you!

If you are looking for something amazing go there The place is clean, staff are friendly and quick. I went there many times and every time the same fantastic food and experience. The food tastes exactly like Syria 🇸🇾 with all the flavours and dips as well. Very recommended 👍🏼

No complaints, attentive staff, lovely food

I visited Chaskaa today and had an incredibly disappointing experience due to the behavior of the manager. From the moment we walked in, the manager was rude and dismissive. Despite having a reservation at 6:30pm, we got the table and were informed to leave it by 8pm at 6:38pm while we were waiting for another friend to join us. Their attitude was unprofessional and disrespectful, completely ruining our dining experience. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone until they address their management issues. Lastly when we were ordering some more at 7pm, he loudly asked the waitress "now, what do they want? Take the menus from the table." Then we cancelled the order, paid the bill and left.

We happened to find this restaurant on Google and decided to give it a try. It was highly rated, and we quickly discovered why. The servers were extremely attentive and checked on us throughout our meal. But it was the food that won us over. Everything was tasty. I highly recommend having a meal here.

One of the best Indian food in Edinburgh. We had dinner with my parents who visited us from India. Even they had very high praise for the food. We had selection for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian courses. Everything was exceptional in taste. Very nice staff as well. Highly recommended if visiting Edinburgh.

Very good traditional Indian cuisine, a little spicy

Nice restaurant in Bruntsfield. Service is attentive (though sometimes excessive, but I would rather have too much attention than none at all!). Drinks were pretty good. Food was absolutely AMAZING. Samosas, Onion Bhaji, Chicken 65 - all delicious. The Murgh Makhanwala is their equivalent of butter chicken - DELICIOUS. Monkfish curry, tadka dal, lamb karahi... Honestly it was all so good. HIGHLY recommend and I hope to go back next time we visit Edinburgh!

The food was amazing but sorry to say the customer service was very poor. When we asked the lady at the restaurant to serve the biriyani as we were struggling to do it ourselves refused to do so. It was absolutely horrendous.

4 of us dined for the first time yesterday, the food was outstanding, full of flavour, different to your normal Indian menu , service was first class and would recommend highly to anyone, definitely would dine again.

I’m a local and go here about once a month.The staff always remember me and look after me. The food is excellent. I’ve brought friends here who told me it’s the best Indian restaurant they’ve ever been to. Highly recommend.

It has been a magnificent experience. The food is spectacular, the price is an excellent quality-price ratio and the service is great, they have been super attentive with special care to my husband's allergies (which are not few) and they have made us some wonderful recommendations to be able to enjoy a quiet dinner. Walked in here randomly needing a quick sit down lunch alone. The staff and owner were so unbelievably welcoming and kind. Service was exemplary (even warming my dish prior to food arriving). I have been on a hunt for the best biryani and this place did not disappoint. So so yummy! Will come back again with all my friends :)

Had a very satisfying meal here with friends recently. We all enjoyed our food, which was consistently excellent. Would have no hesitation returning.

The restaurant is Indian with a halal logo and the menu is varied. To be honest, the food is delicious, the quantities are good, and the food is prepared fresh, so there is a delay of a couple of minutes. The place is beautiful on the inside and the staff are friendly and helpful in explaining meals and suggesting dishes, especially for children. They are worth a visit and experience, especially since it is close to the city center.

We happened to eat at Chaskaa and were very impressed. Very good food at fair prices. We received super-friendly service and received a very good meal recommendation. We can definitely recommend this restaurant.

The food was extremely delicious and a taste explosion!

This restaurant just goes from strength to strength. Recently I booked a table for 7 people at very short notice(same day) and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us by rearranging most of the tables at front of restaurant. The food as always was superb and I tried for the first time the lamb shank which just fell of the bone and melted in my mouth. It was out of this world! All of my family loved the food and said it was the best Indian food they had ever tasted. Compliments to all the chefs! The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. If there is something that is not on the menu they will do their best to make it for you. Portions are large and prices are very reasonable.

The food was absolutely delicious!! Our waitress gave us some excellent recommendations that we would have missed out on otherwise. The lamb was so flavorful and the Sag Paneer was some of the best we'd ever had. Can't recommend it enough!

I’m often at Chaaska, it’s by far my favourite Indian restaurant in Edinburgh. I travel miles to come to it and yesterday was no different, other than it being my birthday and they all came out and brought me a cake and sang Happy Birthday! It was great! As usual, the food was lovely, the staff are always very pleasant and accommodating and it’s very reasonably priced too which makes it a no brainer why I always return! Thanks Chaaska! See you again soon!

Fantastic food, to be honest our deciding factor for this restaurant was that it was dog friendly! Never expected such a great set of food. Service was a little slow but it was a busy Friday night so to be expected. Will definitely return! Benjari gosht (sorry about spelling!) Was sublime!!

Wow! My family & I came, and ordered the following: lazeez lamb curry, lamb shank xacuti, highway chicken tandoori, and murgh tandoori. This place blew us away!!! The lazeez lamb curry was our favorite. The meat was ridiculously tender, and the sauce was a wonderful balance of flavor. The lamb shank was also very soft and quite generously proportioned. We asked the server, and he informed us this was local lamb! We didn’t know reservations were expected, but thankfully, we were allowed to get a table at 6:30 with the expectation that we make the table available by 7:30… This was not a problem, as we devoured our meals within the first half hour. Superb turnaround and great service too!

Best Indian meal I've had for a long time. Sooooo good 👍🏼

Service is better than the food and my table for 2 was in a corner facing the wall. The decor around the table wasn't great as wall was stained / dirty and there were cobwebs on the corners. Food was OK but not great. I had the lamb chop starter and the Lamb Gosht main. The meat in the chops was quite mushy, it's the only way to describe it and wasn't charred like Indian lamb chops usually are. My experience was definitely affected by the table I had. It was in a corner and literally facing the wall. The wall was 2ft from my face and irrelevant of the chair you sat in, you faced the wall. The wall was dirty with cobwebs and in truth it turned my stomach. Service from the staff was very good. They were attentive and friendly. I could and should have asked to move tables which I'm sure wouldn't have been a problem but it was just a quick bite to eat on a work trip so literally in and out.

Wonderful food and nice service

I tried the Chaska Indian restaurant for the first time, on the occasion of my friend’s birthday. Food was delicious,worth every penny Both female staff who looked after us are lovely, A Staff named Suchitra was so welcoming and attentive to diners

The food here has amazing flavor and was excellent!! The staff is very pleasant and insures that all your needs are meet. I can not recommend them enough. If you are anywhere near this restaurant it is a must have in my book. We love it so much we ate there both nights we were in Edinburgh. I recommend the Chicken Karachi, the Murgh Murgh Makhanwala, Tikka chicken appetizer. The garlic cheese Naan was crazy good. I don’t think you could go wrong with anything here.

Chicken 65, Chicken tikka, tandoor Murgh, Hyderabadi biriyani, Chicken Karahi were very delicious. The service was exemplary and we had fantastic experience. We went there after reading reviews definitely did not disappoint. it was absolutely stunning experience great choice of Indian food we had Punjabi murgh and Ginger honey prawn followed by cheese and garlic naan it was delicious 🤤 We had great time and the staff was friendly and energetic must visit Restaurant.

Great food, very tasty. It was very busy, staff seemed a little frantic. We were seated by the door in the corner so didn’t really feel much of an atmosphere but if you want nice food before moving on to somewhere else, this is your place
