Not impressed, it started off okay with the wines being fine. Then the food came, chicken and bacon bbq pizza. It was the most bland thing I have ever had. I said to the waitress about the bland pizza and her reply “oh was it” then proceeded to present me with the card machine whilst asking “was everything okay” I said aside from the bland pizza. This was met with no reply. Terrible service and sub par food. Then to top it off I selected no service charge and wasn’t until after I realised that a 10% charge was added anyway. Don’t go here, not value for money in the slightest.

Lovely restaurant, nice breakfast items, and visited two different occasions. Food was good, as well as our lattes. Virginia served us on our first visited and was pleasant. We were asked to give up our table after eating however, as another reservation had arrived. David served us our 2nd visit and was very helpful and took his time with us. Overall, we enjoyed our experience!

Absolutely delightful! Sat at a cute table by the window for breakfast and had the best food and coffee to start our day! Staff was so friendly as well. Highly recommend!

The best way to end a visit to Calton Hill is with lunch at Society Bar & Kitchen. I enjoyed delicious food there with my mom, but be sure to make a reservation as it can get quite busy.

2nd Visit to Society as not our last. Food is amazing, staff are interested in you and why you're in the city. Looked fully booked but had time to talk. My mother is a plain eater so the were happy to poach ehhs with toast and fresh churned butter. I had eggs benedict, fresh squeezed orange and breakfast tea. All freshly cooked. Very high quality food served by funny friendly staff, would recommend getting in for the brunch! It's bright and spacious and if you're lucky to get a window seat it's a great people-watching opportunity. Slightly more expensive than other brunch alternatives but absolutely worth every penny.

I called in here with my daughter on the off chance there was space for breakfast as it looked pretty busy. The gentlemen who realised that we had not booked made every effort to find us a place and was very friendly and chatty. Luckily he did find space for us. The menu had plenty to choose from with options for gluten free and vegans, fresh fruit juice, oats, yoghurt, fried breakfasts, eggs all sorts of ways. So we had fresh orange, eggs Benedict (sauce on the side), overnight oats and because I was being greedy, a side of potato cake, black pudding and roasted tomatoes. The food was lovely. Fresh and plentiful and the coffee to finish was great too. I would definitely return to this place and would also consider lunch/dinner etc. Do book though - it's pretty popular!!

The French Toast is on point and the drinks were really nice as well! I visited as a single person and can only recommend, the atmosphere is comfortable.

Lunch heaven! Chefs here know how to deliver a simple, flavour filled lunch, every element cooked to perfection. Great atmosphere here. But the best bit is the service, cant remember the last time I felt so welcome in a restaurant - thanks to Georgie. If you own this place - i suggest a large wage rise for Georgie, she is incredible, she never stops, nothing is a problem. Great experience.

My daughter has been here before and has really enjoyed it. We went there to have fruit and oatmeal for a snack. We were told they aren’t serving breakfast, so they gave us their lunch/dinner menu. Wanting something light, I ordered a salad, which they said they don’t serve until 5:00. The server did kindly allow my daughter to have an oatmeal, but when I asked for one also, it was a no (maybe only a little leftover from breakfast rush). I reluctantly ended up getting pizza, which I thought was mediocre as did the person in the party who wanted pizza. I did take a bite of the oatmeal and agreed with my daughter that it was awesome. The atmosphere is nice (though didn’t like sitting at a long communal table on a high stool with no back). The service was nice. But I was surprised when I said to put 10% extra for a tip on the card, that they do that automatically. I think if you go during the right hours with the right food availability, it’d be a 4 or 5 star.

Found this gem by accident on our first morning in Edinburgh. Breakfast was so good we went back over our weekend for lunch and dinner! Staff are unreal and every meal is loaded with flavor and fresh ingredients. I shall miss this place!

I’ve been here before for breakfast, brunch and just a take out coffee so I knew to expect another fabulously tasty lunch. I can pretty much recommend everything on the menu but today the halloumi wrap with pea pesto caught my eye and didn’t disappoint.
