A good fun beach bar experience. The atmosphere is great and while the bar line is always long it moves quickly and isn't an issue on the whole. Always good to be by the beach. Only negative is the food prices are criminal for bang average before the portion size hurts even more. I'd go for a drink by the beach but won't bother with food again, just feels like a total rip off. Example 8 calamari for £10 and £13 for a burger you get at a kids football match at £2.50

With the sun shining, a bacon roll, black coffee, top deck and views to die for, alls good in the world

Grabbed some chips whilst having a walk along the beach. Thought they were a little bit expensive, but happy to find a good portion, slathered in garlic oil and plenty of condiments to choose from.

Very nice spot for a day on the sea. Public toilets, free park on the street and pay as you go beach front. bar open with hot food served. Lively environment

Had a good coffee here with friends. Despite the rain we had seating under cover.

Great place for drinks and food right on the beach I have given a couple star off for the fact I asked for no chocolate on my cappuccino and even after it was put on the guy who took my order me told the guy that served me no chocolate, hearing this he just shoved the drinks at me. This might seem petty, and luckily, I'm not allergic, but what if this was a request because a customer was allergic to something else and it was just given to them with no thought or care about what was asked for.

Beautiful spot and lovely staff, drinks very expensive though. £12 for a pimms and lemonade!

A lovely beach just 15 minutes drive from Bournemouth. Stunning views, lots of food and drinks and seating areas and benches. Live music and friendly vibes and family friendly as well. Definitely recommended

Just had a hot chocolate but it was good, everything is given in takeaway cups. It was a busy weekend so lots of people, music playing and queues but there was a good atmosphere. We took our drinks to the beach as it was crowded but a great spot on the beach, quite unique.

LOVE this quirky spot on the beach. It's perfectly placed between hengistbury head and Southbourne to make the perfect speedy coffee pit stop, a breakfast outing after a morning walk or somewhere to sit and while the day away whatever the weather. The food and drink are pricey, but you definitely get quality products even if the portion sizes are relatively small. They have a captive audience so can get away with charging extra, and the relaxed vibe, friendly staff and super fresh pastries more than make up for it hitting your pocket a little harder than expected. Definitely worth a visit if you're passing through and have ever wondered what a converted double-decker bus and a beach-side cocktail bar/cafe might have in common...

Bit windy. Every time I've been there, there's always been a guy doing lunges, he's got good form but, feels a bit odd, you know?

Food was tasty if a little expensive. Bar service was poor, uninterested and rude.

Food was amazing, staff were great. Only issue was there wasn’t enough tables and the tables could’ve done with being wiped down. Either way would recommend and will come back 👍

The best beach near Bournemouth because of the food and drink available from the bar. No wonder it gets crowded.... Go early to get parking.

Lovely location 💙 £17 on 2 Italiano toasted sandwiches. 1 slice of each meat, not made fresh ( not a busy day, mid week late lunch ) pre made which is fine if it's cooked through but both freezing cold in the middle and hot around the outside. Children's mini dawg was ok and reasonably priced £10.50 on a frozen watermelon margarita - was like a kids slushie. No watermelon or alcohol In sight ( maybe it hadn't mixed in the machine yet 😕) GREAT MR WHIPPY though and great price for a beach ice-cream Maybe we just came on the wrong day.

Great vibe, well laid out right on the beach.

We were there in storms and rain. It's a simple beach bar, with drinks from paper cups, but very tasty. The staff is very friendly, dogs are welcome guests! When the sun is shining it's definitely a great place to be with a great view!

Only found by accident. Its alright for those who know but our first time. Superb location and great for dogs. Only downer is parking and bloody expensive. £7.80 for 3 hours. Is there really any need.

Amazing location right on Southbourne seafront. It's quite pricey due to its location and can get busy at the weekend but it's well worth a visit

As a local come here quite often for coffee/brunch. I find the quality of the coffee to be very inconsistent. Sometimes great but sometimes mediocre. Nice vibe and setting but I try and avoid the busy times. Shame they've hiked their prices for the Summer. Might have to avoid for a few months and hope the prices come down again.

I love heading to Sobo after a mornings beach walk. Lovely staff, food and drinks. We had my husbands birthday here in April and just had the best time! Love it!

Nice chips, confusing where to actually order food

Honestly a super cool selection of bars and food huts on the beach, with an awesome atmosphere. The whole venue looks really unique, and having a drink at the top on the "balcony" is really atmospheric. We only had the salt and pepper fries but they were really nice. They also had Thatchers AMBR which is really good stuff. 👍 Only downside is that the drinks are fairly expensive, but that's to be expected on the beach.

very chilled out beach cafe , friendly staff very well organised to cope with high demand of a hot summers day on the beach. The food offering was varied our food was amazing the Thai food on offer was delicious. Reasonable prices and great selection of both food , drink and ice cream available.

Food and drink average and not cheap. Had peri chicken on a skewer. Expected something hot but chicken was cold and piata full of soggy beetroot and salad.

Absolutely love this place - finally we get an awesome beach bar in Bournemouth where you can relax and enjoy the sun or have at bit more fun at one of the many events/sessions they organise. It’s an eclectic mix of seating arrangements and different kiosks servings cocktails, ice creams (even doggy ice cream!), food etc - there really is something for everyone and you absolutely can’t beat the view !

Great spot by the beach, but the quality of food and drink is shockingly bad. Total rip off. £5 for an awful coffee and warm oat milk for my daughter. We live round the corner and the quality is getting worse. I’m sure many Tourists will fall for it.

Great atmosphere on a sunny day but we waited over an hour for a burger and noodles. The noodles were horrible, I ordered the veggie ones and there was I slice of Carrott and two shrivelled suger snap peas. Don't recommend the food at all.

Sobo beach is a very well thought out location by the beach and an extraordinary spot in the sun. The atmosphere and events are spectacular. Its a great escape from reality.From what I have experienced the food was delicious although rather overpriced. However I must say my experience was dampened by the seemingly shocking treatment towards the younger lower levels of staff I understand that these staff maybe less experienced in the field as there younger and might need telling what to do. However from what I have witnessed staff seem to be overly pushy and rude to there younger colleagues. Lots of raised and unnecessary aggression which didn’t only make me feel uncomfortable but must be highly unmotivating for younger members of staff.

Very cool place to sit and have a drink or food but apart from drink the food needs improvements. I think the Thai food isn't really the Thai food. Other than that it's a great place.

Food not great, atmosphere was great and drinks a plenty, staff not the happiest tbh, lacking any sign of a smile, also mens loos were like a lake of piss, plus only one toilet working but not sure if they are council run. Would recommend I think I landed on a bad day ✌️

Great stop off . The glass front protected us from the wind and we enjoyed great views. Disliked paper cups would have preferred a proper cup and teapot. The tea was ready made and not to my liking, too much milk which was disappointing for the price paid. Also no wcs, had to visit public toilets next door. Again poor for the price paid.

Staff were very rude. Couldn’t be bothered at all with allergies, and refused to even speak to the kitchen. Horrible attitude for something that can’t be helped. We felt so unwelcome that we left. We won’t be going back, and don’t recommend at all. Coeliacs, don’t bother!

We visited 2 weeks ago. The young man taking our order had no idea about allergies. I asked about nuts in a particular dish, he looked at the menu and said "It doesn't say anything about nuts". I said this was regarding an allergy and could he please check with the chef. The dish in question is made off site in a household with Thai ingredients so "probably best to avoid" said the chef. There was then a repeat of this when I asked about a second dish. There was no allergy table on display that I could see, and none on their website. This is the second time we have eaten there and I don't recall having such an inept response to allergen questions last year. The food does taste good but is overpriced. Oh and my poke bowl which should have had sushi rice in it had quinoa instead. There was no mention of this when I ordered or collected my food. I will most likely take a picnic next time.

Food okay, but they use plastic forks and they are on the beach front? Do you know they are banned? The government banned single-use plastic packaging in October 2023. These changes directly impacted the food service industry — You're no longer allowed to use polystyrene food packaging and plastic cutlery.

I love this place for the the events but the food is bad. We had two sandwiches and fries, costing us £21. It is so over priced for the quality. The pesto tasted like it was straight out of jar. It made the sandwiches taste like cheap oil. The fries were not tasting fresh either...they were warm and soggy/chewy. Not what you would expect at all. I hope they can improve the food quality as apart from the that it's an awesome spot.

The atmosphere, the location, and the perfect coffee are the best reasons for returning here whenever physically possible.

Haven't eaten at Sobo Beach ,but the hot chocolate is really good ,the place is always busy and lively ,dogs are welcome which always helps if you are a dog owner
