Restaurant in the center of Edinburgh, it is perfect for grabbing food and taking away since the interior location is small, but it is worth it, the portions are abundant and it is not expensive, it is simply not on the busiest street. Perfect to come to eat or have breakfast and continue seeing the city

Fab..our go to breakfast spot. Where Local construction workers go, you know is good, with fair prices. Great seeing 5 women running this pkace and doing well for themselves.

Horrible! Small and dirty cafe on a stuffy street, Portions are really small compared to the price, burnt buns instead of toast.

Proper greasy spoon. Come here for a traditional quality breakfast. Nothing fancy but exactly what a traditional breakfast should be. Tattie scones and Scottish slice were to die for! Superb👌 If you want fancy , this isn't it. But for me a traditional full Scottish/English/Welsh shouldn't be fancy at all. This is perfect for what I was looking for. Can't recommend it enough

A brilliant Greasy Spoon in the heart of Edinburgh. We'd a lovely veggie breakfast there. Simple, tasty & filling. Exactly what you want from a greasy spoon cafe.

The perfect place for breakfast in Edinburgh. They have a wide variety of options to choose from at a very good price for what the city is like. They attend and serve quite quickly, and they are also very friendly. There was a problem with our order and they solved it immediately. It doesn't have much space to sit although they also offer it to take away.

Tasty enough full breakfast but on the small side. The shop is also super cramped.

Great breakfast for the price. Stopped here before getting on the LNER. Convenient and quick. They don't take cash so be prepared to pay with a card. My only regret is that I didn't check my bag before leaving. I ordered for 3 ppl and got am extra panini for later. It wasn't in the bag but I didn't notice when I got to the train. 😑 So ill take half the blame for that. Either way the breakfast sandwich was incredibly filling.

Just pleased to see this is still open and little altered since I used it regularly about twenty years ago. The choice of bread was rather limited but still good quality and value for snacks and hot drinks.

Small spot for a morning eat. I had the full breakfast, that was quite nice. Some hits some misses. The place itself is quite small and while I ate I got the impression that most people get their rolls or wraps to go. Might try this next time.

Very nice place for a breakfast! Small area but tasty and local We had the all day breakfast which was good and you can ask to change ingredients if you want, the tea as well ! Not a big fan of the cappuccino though

We stopped at Snax as it was across the street from a bookstore and it had 4.4 ⭐️s on Google. We wanted to visit the bookstore without feeling famished the whole time. Short story short: I do NOT recommend unless you: - like crowded tables and chairs that are not cleaned (dirty napkin in the condiment basket, crumbs on the table) - don’t mind a restroom where the toilet paper and paper towels are perched on the dirty windowsill - don’t need a glass of ice for your water or soda - don’t mind bland food - the cheddar cheese was the tastiest thing on my plate. - no gluten-free bread/wrap options Pros - - cheap - near a great bookstore, Till’s - close to The Meadows - sufficient for poor college students, one of which I used to be but no longer am

Located in an alley and right by motel one. I got breakfast quickly and it was a great value. Recommend take away. We took to our room and ate before we had to leave for a flight. I appreciated the full breakfast in a hurry while on a tight schedule. Great value.

Came across this at random today and thought I would give it a go considering the prices. A literal hole in the wall with some cheap deals. Good for breakfast or lunch if you are looking for something simple and easy.

The food was really disappointing, had a large breakfast and couldn’t finish half of what I was given. The bread was very dry, the sausages were mushy and overcooked. The black pudding and eggs were alright, but it wasn’t a great experience. Dining in also costs a pound more for mains, although the staff told us upfront, the menu outside did not say anything of the sort.

It is indeed a busy restaurant with many people having take away. However the taste does not really good...

Chose Snax as it was open earlier than everywhere else. Really good coffee and food was hot, fresh and delicious.

This is a great little stop for a takeaway breakfast. We came here every morning of our trip because it was so good !

Como estadounidense, disfruté de este lugar porque ofrece desayunos americanos! Tengo una baguette llena de huevos revueltos, tocino y queso. El pan y la comida eran sabrosos! Pero no es un restaurante. Es principalmente una pequeña cocina que ofrece unas cuantas sillas altas para sentarse junto a la ventana y / o para llevar. Sin embargo, la comida es increíble!

Exactly what I was looking for! A local grease shop, delivering a full Scottish at low cost. Delicious all around, no complaints.

Little takeaway café with stools for in eating. The biggest breakfast was tasty warm and not at all greasy. For the price it's a real deal. The latte was well prepared and of better quality than Costa for 35% cheaper price. Been just couple of minutes from Wakerley station, snax box is ideal for a quick breakfast before a morning train.

Little cafe offering multiple different breakfast options. The bun was nice and soft however the rest was average. The sausage tasted like richmonds and I only got one rasher of bacon.

Small place in an internal street, not touristy because it is frequented by workers where you can find an authentic English breakfast with a wide choice, including vegetarian ones. Don't let the outside appearance stop you.

For a breakfast in Edinburgh this is the best option! Quite a hearty sausage, bacon or egg sandwich for £3, it doesn't exist anywhere else! The coffee is really good too. Of course the place is small, but the idea is not to spend an hour there. I therefore highly recommend!

I was forced to get a take away even though I wanted to dine in. The staff also didn't provide any cutlery which made it even more difficult to dine outside the cafe. Behavior of the staff extremely inappropriate.

They had good vegan breakfast with hasbrowns, baked beans and so on! Not the nicest place to sit, but there is a park nearby where you can sit and eat (-:

Delicious breakfast at a low price. It doesn't blow you away, but it's good value for money. More to be taken away, as there are only a few, rather uncomfortable places inside.

Yes that's right, this is where you redeem breakfast vouchers of Princes Street Hostel (Sunday only). The breakfast vouchers purchased for £4.20 will get a breakfast roll (priced at three pounds) and a hot drink (priced at two to three pounds).Be warned though, you can only take away. but that's not a problem, considering its price. There were two sausages in my link sausage roll and the latte tasted great. It's easy for you to find it too, just go down the road (the side with the Japanese restaurant), turn the corner, and you'll see it!

If you’re looking for an affordable breakfast/lunch spot… look no further! Came twice and was surprised to find out that the sub roll is £3.90 no matter what you put in it whilst the breakfast roll I got with two items was £4. Everything was fresh, premises were clean and staff super helpful and friendly.

Sat inside and ordered the "all veggie day " and an Americano. The coffee was surprisingly good with an acidic taste and hits of bitter chocolate. Every bit of the plate was tasty and simple. I had my doubts as I wanted something traditional but not greasy. They aced it. Would be great to have the door closed to keep an nice warm atmosphere.

Place just off the main streets frequented by workers and locals who stop to grab a specialty. The interior is very small, just 5 stools and a counter corner (and 2 external benches) you order take away both simple toasts/sandwiches and more complete breakfasts with vegetarian choices. Coffee in various types, tea, various drinks. Fair prices and you finish your meal satisfied. Well done!

Snax Cafe is a fantastic low key hole-in-the-wall breakfast spot with no pretentions. Serving coffee, tea, and a variety of breakfast options including rolls, sandwiches, and paninis. It is a great for a breakfast on the go while heading to catch a train at Waverley or walking Princes St.

The snap cafe must've had a refurb since the last time I was there. It's always mobbed. The food is freshly prepared, so expect to wait a few minutes. 👍

I ordered a chicken wrap this past Monday and got food poisoning from this! Please check your food’s expiry dates I believe your chicken was totally off! I also had to wait about 20 min for this to be made.

The food was relatively good but the service is suuuuper slow. I spent a couple of days in that area, tried different foods and I believe this was one of the best cafes in the neighborhood so far. The portions are adequate as I ate the wrap as a brunch and was full until night.

Such an underrated place. I'm so glad I decided to visit because honestly, this was my best experience with haggis and I tried it at 3 other places that were much higher-end. The breakfast haggis they serve is fried and tasted so good and the price is just so worth it.

Great and possibly best option for traditional breakfast lovers in Edinburgh's center. Eggs, beans, bacon, black pudding, haggis, tomato, hash browns, sausages... it's all there. Small, busy, locals, great prices.

The café is quite small and if you want to eat there, you'll need a bit of luck. We had the biggest and the bigger breakfast and 2 cappuccini. The service was friendly and the coffee is GREAT for outside Italy (I say that as an Italian). The food is ok, the portions are generous. All in all we paid 24 euros. If you want space and peace and quiet, weatherspoon is a better option... except for the coffee, which is terrible.

It was so unbelievably slow and the food is just not impressive. Since it was taking too long for orders to come out, people were leaving without their food or crammed into the tiny seating area making it really uncomfortable as you waited. It took about 45 minutes to get two breakfast wraps. McDonald’s is right down the street and my recommendation over this place.

Lovely food and cheap prices - half the price of anywhere else I found in the city centre. Not much seating available - maybe enough for 8 people max on benches around the window. Great for takeaways and people were even ordering via deliveroo from there.

Really disappointed in how.bad this place has become used to be a lunchtime gem with really hardworking staff and great service. Now it's suddenly really poor food gone downhill, prices up and staff are incredibly rude forget orders and have a go if you dare to suggest anything. Sad times former loyal customer don't think I'll be back

A cozy place in a non rush setting yet is busy. Its hidden location makes it an excellent choice for having an experience. The food is simple and cooked fresh. Good for a heavy mornin brekkie.

Πήγα δυο φορές και το φαγητο είναι υπεροχο ειδικά για κάποιον που δεν είναι ντόπιος και θέλει να φάει σαν ντόπιος . Αλλά την δεύτερη μέρα στο ταμείο η κοπέλα άκουσε τα μισά από την παραγγελία μου κι αυτά λάθος . Φέρνοντας με σε δύσκολη θέση καθώς περίμενα το πρωινό μου ενώ αυτό δεν είχε παραγγελθεί ποτε .

The staff and manager/owner need to go on a crash course on providing good customer service. Terrible attitude from the staff and the owner, extremely slow service and the customer doesn't seem to be important in this place. Very overrated, don't waste your money.

Best veggie breakfast wrap ever!!!! I was in EDI for 2 days. I would stay longer just for the food from here. Don't judge it for the location, don't judge it for the design.
