Snarestone in North West Leicestershire

Ladies loo has thick black crusty edges around the floor, a real sign of staff laziness. On cubicle liht (the one without the window) was not working, so not useable. Beer prices have rocketed since late August, by a pound a pint. There were very few people in there, and it was fairly obvious why. Businesses like this need to be well managed, this one has gone well downhill and will not last if this low standard is maintained. Like many other comments on here, this place has been excellent up until very recently. If it carries on like this it will close.

Food was absolutely dreadful, I had the burger and it tasted like it had come straight from the microwave, I’ve had better at McDonalds! My husbands food was cold and bland. Used to be our favourite spot for a bite to eat, not anymore. Ridiculous prices, no beer on and clueless staff. Absolutely awful. Save your money and time and don’t bother! New owners have killed a once beautiful pub.

What a fabulous host Sue was. Service with a smile. We had lunch on Friday and a legendary Sunday dinner whilst away with friends. Highly recommend. Your brummy friends will be back x x

Absolutely amazing service and food. The waiting staff are so accomodating, apologising for certain meats not being available due to extremely busy earlier in the day. Food as ever was fantastic. We had a beautiful meal in a lovely setting with fairy lights. Waitress couldn’t do enough to help us with our orders. Quick service and definitely on our list of regular places to eat out ! All 4 meals were delicious 🤤

My family and I have had the best Sunday dinner ever! The food was mouth-wateringly fabulous. Beef cooked to perfection and roasters to die for! All plates cleared! What a great place . Friendly staff , lovely location, beer is very reasonable and will definitely return. I came here with a few of my girlfriends and we was made really welcomed by all the stuff. they gave us information about the walk along the canal and where we could find the closest shop as we was staying in a caravan .

What a beautiful and peaceful spot. A little hidden gem. The bar staff were so welcoming, waiting staff couldn’t do enough for us and my husband’s steak was cooked just as he’d asked. We will be back.

Poor customer service Left for almost an hour after having order taken to be told food is just being plated (after chasing where our food was), for it to be a further 10 minutes before getting it. Hair in food and drinks Bread roll was freezer burnt The serving staff were friendly and some of the food we had was good, but certainly would not rush to go back

Table for 6 , sat down at 1.30, no starters ordered, just mains, 1.5 hr wait! Food lukewarm but all past waiting any longer . However one of our party was a vegetarian . Only 1 mains option- cheese and onion pie. They chose a starter - garlic mushrooms and side order of cauliflower cheese to have as mains. The garlic mushrooms were so overcooked they were inedible and had to be sent back leaving them with a small bowl of cauliflower cheese which was just ok. Very disappointing. Young waiting on staff were great, but waiting time and overall quality of food was below par. Won’t visit again .

Called for my husbands birthday treat on Wednesday 18th. It was a fantastic meal, only one complaint we couldn’t eat it all.

Eight of us went for a 70th birthday celebration meal. The food was excellent and there were eight empty plates. The staff were lovely and looked after us very well. Would highly recommend a visit to this traditional village pub.

Well earned top marks, good choices on the menu and from our visits each meal has been excellent, well presented and great tasting. Waiting staff are great, really polite and attentive, and can't do enough for you. I think we'll be working our way through the menu eventually as it all looks good and it's a nice relaxed place to visit

Despite being really busy, the lady on the phone fitted us in for a family Sunday Roast yesterday and we were all so glad she did. Proper food cooked fresh and served by two smiley and happy waitresses. My dad is a fussy veggie and so he opted for the herb crusted haddock (recommended by one of the waitresses), and it literally overlapped the plate! Really thick, creamy and fleshy fish and clearly not bought in. There was a large table next to us who also agreed that it is one of the best pubs for miles as they travel from quite a distance to meet up there on a regular basis. Keep up the good work, highly recommended.

A disappointing evening. The two waitresses were rushed off their feet. They need more staff! The wifi code is ridiculous and needs to be changed to something customers can actually use. My first choice from the menu was 'off' so I had to choose an alternative, which turned out to be not very tasty. My first glass of water was cold and refreshing, but the refill was tepid and unappealing despite the pretty carafe . We were going to order dessert but they didn't have any ice cream left and none of the others appealed to us on such a hot evening! Neither cubicle in the ladies' toilet had any paper left and the basket of complimentary ladies' things was empty. No, that's not quite true - it had rubbish in it. There were no paper towels left for hand-drying, though they had a hot-air dryer. The barmaid was defensive and rude ('entitled', I'd call her) when I pointed out this deficiency in a hospitality location. They only earned 2 stars because my husband's food was tasty and his beer was served at the right temperature. We won't be visiting there again, which is sad, because I like the book exchange and the paintings done by a local artist, and it's a handy place to eat right at the top of The Ashby canal.

The lunchtime menu had plenty to choose from and was very good value for money. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive to our needs. One of the reason we went to the Globe is its dog friendly approach, which we enjoyed and even the supply of drinking water for our dog was appreciated. The staff were very courteous at all times and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely use the Globe again.

Must have been a bad night. The service was excellent and the place lovely, but the food we ordered was well below par. The starters were sent back as the Gyoza were literally rock solid and the garlic mushrooms were mainly just breadcrumbs. My wife's Thai curry was fine but the steak and gravy pie pastry was ruined ...I suspect the pie had been reheated by microwave (not unusual for pub food) but was clearly done to long as it to turned harder and harder to eat. The pie however was very tasty and would have been excellent had it been reheated properly. The chips were perfect. Presentation was also very good. If it had not been for the problems with the food reheating/preparation I would have easily given a 5 star review, regret on this visit it only deserves a 3 star. Sorry Globe...

Stopped here for the Bank Holiday weekend, nice little quiet campsite and a lovely pub, had Sunday dinner there and it was wonderful. Nice walks down the canal, there’s a farm shop 5 minutes walk away. Highly recommend 5⭐️

Absolutely beautiful roast dinner today at The Globe. Was recommended to come here by friends and I’m so glad that we did! My table had the belly pork and it was cooked to perfection, roast potatoes were amazing and the gravy was sublime! We asked for extra gravy and our waitress was more than happy to fetch us some, the service was great! We forgot to ask for our servers name but we hope she remembers us! Thanks to The Globe for a wonderful meal, we will be back!

Our second visit today. We are in the area for a few days in a narrowboat holiday. A very friendly pub. Today we had lunch which was very reasonably priced and delicious. The service was excellent and staff very friendly. We took our two dogs and were very impressed by how dog friendly the staff were. They even brought out some off cuts of roast beef for the very grateful dogs!

Visited the globe today with a group of walkers. Had the best steak pie with the tastiest gravy I Leicestershire . My wife had the lasagne which apparently was just as good.
