What an amazing experience, food, staff and service 1st class, if you're looking for somewhere before or after a flight from east Midlands then look no further

Stunning food. The salt and pepper squid was amazing, as were the mushrooms with chilli and red onion. The standard of the lasagne was incredible. The scampi and salad was beautifully presented. Definitely coming back again

Quick pit stop with the dogs on a little wander around castle Donnington. For all you seasoned drinkers I went with a pint of wife beater top......for you newbies that's a pint of Stella shandy! At just over £8 for a pint and a coke falls in line with how pub prices should be these days! Quick flick at the menu and they wanted £8.50 for a bowl of chips and cheese. Knocked that one on the head pal and ended up in the local chippy for a chip cob. Dogs behaved well today and even wulfed down a little girls ham sandwich on the table next to us! Jobs a goodun.....onto the next venture pal 👌

Super last stop off before East Midlands Airport...

Visited last night with 9 friends and despite the pub being very busy we had excellent food, service and value for money. What more could you ask for?

Lovely food beautifuly cooked and presented. Very busy evening due to the racing but staff friendly and worked well as a team to get everyone served. Second year we gave been and would differently come again.

Always had great food at this lovely local restaurant. Friendly and welcoming staff and lovely garden seating area. I had scampi, chips and salad. Lots of food, visually appealing and colourful and tasted wonderful. Will definitely return

Lovely lunch today with my dear friend Joan. We sat in the sunny garden and had bacon and brie baguettes, bacon cooked crispy as we like it. Huge baguettes with chips and glass of wine. Excellent value and service. Oh and my dog came too.

I love this establishment in the lane to the emergency crash gate for East midlands -castle donington airport- the pub is small but has a bigger restaurant with courteous staff -on my visit I asked for something not on the menu and they obliged --it was only simple egg and chips but they satisfied in style and presentation and the new barmaid excelled in customer care -- yes a good place to visit and is disability friendly with better access via the restaurant entrance 👍then if you like aircraft you can park up by the perimeter fence or visit the very good air museum a few hundred yards away

Working away and this was my 1st time eating in this pub, the staff was very polite and the food was cooked to perfection, I will definitely recommend it..

Met family here specifically because it was halfway between us living, as we do,40 miles away in opposite directions. Entered through the bar full of guys, I imagine, having a post work drink, it was 6pm on Friday and found an unpretentious English pub. Only one cask ale on the bar, normally I'd be disappointed but as this turned out to be best Pedigree I've ever tasted (it doesn't have to travel far) no alternatives were needed! The restaurant isn't posh but the staff are lovely and the menu was a surprise.... sirloin steak, the cheapest option was £13, really! I was tempted but opted for Boerewors sausage because I'd never heard of it before, no regrets, however, the four who had the steak all agreed they were as good or better than any they'd ever had before and all cooked perfectly as requested. 5🌟for Lee and the kitchen team! We'll be back, I want one!!!

The Nags Head was a pleasant pub selling traditional pub food at very reasonable prices. And you got ample portions for your money. Service was good and food piping hot. The only issue I had with this establishment was the welcome party of smokers as you approached the entrance. However. I will eat here again.

Kieran & Carol served us for our meal tonight. We originally came in for a cheeky pint and the food smelt stunning so we decided we’d give the food a go. We are so so glad that we decided to have the food as it turned out to be absolutely gorgeous. The staff were very friendly and very polite towards myself and my partner. We will both be returning again to give the carvery a go. Highly recommend this pub. :)

Stopped off here on the way down to Milton Keynes for some food, absolutely amazing food and the service was fab. Definitely will stop here again.

What a great lunch we had today. Lovely local steak with all the trimmings and very reasonably priced. Service was absolutely fantastic from the friendly staff. Discovered that I taught the manager about 28 years ago!! Really worth a visit.

Been for a team meal today and was lovely. We have been a number of times over the past year or so and the staff are always accommodating and friendly. Food has always been impeccable and great value for money.

There was 6 of us all having something different. I had the garlic mushrooms for starters and they was absolutely amazing. To be honest all of the food was brilliant. Fantastic atmosphere with the locals. I recommend this place highly if you are going for a meal.

Just had a carvery here - it was beautiful. Must be the best carvery for miles. Staff were friendly, not the most up to date facilities but a nice atmosphere.

Kieran and Carol were very welcoming, despite our late arrival. The food (fish and chips, followed by trillionaires tart) was perfect, complimented by a nice draft pint of Pedigree.

Fabulous restaurant and bar one of the best in the area if not the best all around respectful and professional staff always willing to help and provide support to customers and regulars. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and definitely will be back for more. The food is very reasonably priced and rather large portion sizes. I’m not a vegan but I tried their mushroom lasagna for the first time and to say the least it is delicious and left me wanting more next time I visit. Thank you to the staff and the owners for making me and my family feel welcome and provided us with a good laugh and time together 😁

Pub was rather empty for a Saturday afternoon. Bought two pints of Carling and they didn't hold their head for very long. Rather expensive for a pub that isn't busy. There were less than 10 people in, including us

I have visited this pub many times over the last few years and have always been pleased by the quality of the food on offer and the excellent service provided by the staff - nothing seems too much trouble.

Stopped here for lunch just down from East Midlands runway very convenient for a bite to eat or a drink. Lovely food, lovely staff and nice little pub inside and out. Will call back again when we are next in the area soon I hope.

Very nice Pub. Been visiting here of a lunchtime for a year or two now and always enjoyed the good variety of well prepared meals and easy atmosphere. They also keep a very nice pint of pedigree, served by the excellent staff.

This excellent pub serves tasty, freshly cooked food and caters well for large parties. All the staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and you are not overcrowded. They catered for my Mother-in-law's 100th Birthday party and it was amazing, I can't fault them.

"The Boys" Group of 5 to 12 of us go there most Wednesdays, used to go round different pubs, but since we found the Nags decided it was so good why go anywhere else! including Christmas do of 20 of us... says it all.!

The chef promised me the best roast I'd ever tasted and he wasn't wrong. All our dietary needs were catered for including the best Vegan Sunday roast I've ever seen, we were even able to get a take away for a family member who wasn't able to join us. Even though it was busy we were served quickly by the very friendly staff. Well done 10/10

Came here for Sunday lunch. I’m vegan - my friend isnt. The food was delicious. Both very well catered for. In fact - I’ve never been anywhere where I’ve had such a fantastic vegan roast. Yorkshire pudding, mash. Roasties wellington veggies. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely return. Only sad that I didn’t have room for pudding after eating so much lunch .

Excellent meal tonight at The Nags Head. Me and the husband out for our wedding anniversary, he is vegetarian while I am vegetarian and coeliac. Could not fault the service, the meal or the price. The waiter was very attentive, answered any questions about my requirements for a gluten free meal. I had the Mushroom Spinach and Artichoke Lasagne and it was the best gluten free Lange I have ever had! Asked our server to pass on our compliments to the chef, who then came out to chat. What a lovely touch. Thanks for a fabulous meal, despite the thunder and lightning & rain, it was a lovely evening. We will be back !

Four of us just had lunch here today, Wednesday. Well we all had different meals, and each one was fab and plentiful. The gammon was huge, nearly ate it tho with a little help. Everything was great and we highly recommend. Perfect, good choice rather than eat rubbish at east midlands at extortionate prices. Well run, great service.

I joined a large group for dinner and was impressed by the welcome and service. Nice pint of Pedigree (well 2 actually) accompanied an ample plateful of farmers sausage with all the trimmings. Had enough to eat so declined a dessert but many friends tucked in and said they enjoyed them also. Very happy to go back next time in the area.

Had a booking cancelled at last minute elsewhere and the Nags Head staff could accommodate 7 of us last minute. Nice surroundings, friendly staff especially Harry . Food was excellent and we will be using this Inn again.

I took 7 of my Grandchildren here for their dinner as they were having a sleepover at mine and all wanted different dishes; the staff here were so helpful, brought the drinks to our table and made sure everything was as ordered. Their children’s meals were freshly cooked and made of quality ingredients, and massive portions. First class, I’ll definitely come back but the childrens sleepover will be an annual thing not monthly 😂

Beautiful traditional pub and restaurant, dog friendly with a great atmosphere inside or for us on this warm sunny evening with tables outside also we chose that option. Partner had prawn cocktail starter and 8oz sirloin steak main whilst for me it was fried mushrooms in a chili garlic sauce with warm chiabatta bread, then smothered chicken, chips, salad and onion rings as main. Excellent 👌

Not had food yet but on the to do list that's why it's a 3 star. No doubt it will be a 5 when I update the review. A friendly welcome and a great feel about the place. Good selection of drinks and food. Looking forward to eating here.

A little disappointing really, wine glasses had lipstick stains and water drops as had been left to drain. WIndows needed a new window cleaner, you couldn't see out of them. BUT the food was good and reasonably priced. A little more attention to detail would have been appreciated.

I've had there to good to go carvery a couple of times now and it's very nice. Lots of food for a amazing price. Problem is there is only 5 meals up for grabs each week so you have to be extremely quick to grab one. I don't know why the pub doesn't do a carvery takeaway each week especially with how quickly theses meals go and especially for theses people like myself that live on there own. There as got to be a market out there for them with how quickly the to good to go meals get purchased. I definitely would purchase one and I'm sure alot more people would as well.

Stopped here on a walk with the dog, friendly place and plenty of space outside. Dog friendly which is also a bonus. Slight lack of craft beers but that's my thing.

It has a lovely atmosphere, served in ten minutes! Everyone enjoyed their exceptional meals. Front of house was the best I've ever seen, even remembering our whole drinks order without a pad, and after we changed a couple of our drinks!

Brillant service this evening at 5PM from Carol and the young lad serving food and the steak was the best steak ive had in a long time and the service was super quick... So i highly reccomend this pub to others

Great halfway stop off to the North. Lovely lady served us very efficiently and the food was very good. We all had different meals and the service was quick. Just what we needed after a 2 hour drive with another 2 hours to go.

Staff were very friendly, welcoming and efficient, really nice people. Food was OK but frozen chips is always a no no for me personally. Apologies in advance to the lovely people but the back rooms (we were in the Chevalier room) were devoid of atmosphere. They have obviously made a lot of effort decorating but hard flooring and utility type furniture don't do it for me.

I have never had food so good. The timing was excellent and the staff were really lovely and pleasant. What a great pub! Will definitely be back for more

Lovely food. I had a chicken and bacon salad with ceaser dressing. There was that much there I could not eat it all.

We called in yesterday for lunch, the staff were very friendly so were the locals, food was lovely even our dog got a couple of treats from the Land lady, next time we are at Donnington race circuit we will definitely call in.
