Smugglers Inn in Croydon

After recently moving to the area I was keen to try this pub. This was a really nice experience, the staff were welcoming, friendly and polite even when I was mad drunk and I think it was their pale ale (not lager) I ordered, which was really reasonable for this part of London and tasted amazing, I’m not usually a fan of ale but this was wicked. Love it

John and his team always deliver a great night out. Without exception this is the cleanest, friendliest and best run pub I’ve ever been in. The attention to detail, service and welcome are second to none. This pub really is the jewel in Coulsdon’s crown and probably the best kept secret!! There is always something going on from quiz nights to sports, live music to themed evenings. Seriously, go and see it for yourself.

I went in as needed the toilet and was refused unless I bought a drink first. She was extremely rude and petty. Safe to say would never drink in that dump.

Friendly pub with character and a great quiz every other Sunday

Bit of an old man's drinking pub, but very friendly. Small, room for about 30 people. Decent pints on tap. No food served. Not for under 18s

Spent a really pleasant evening here. First visit, and felt very comfortable among the other patrons. The Sunday Quiz was great fun.

Top pub best in Coulsdon, been there loads and always get a table no problem. Food is amazing recommend everything!! Staff are friendly and very welcoming.

As for a Sunday I ordered fish, cucumber salad, aubergine, lady finger and chillies. It’s the best dish ever. I will definitely recommend all my friends and family to order. I will order again for sure. Thank you so much.

Great pub with a wide selection of drinks and even better food available at a reasonable price. Both the smashed burger and chicken burger was a hit, will defo order them again! Should have tried the fish and chips, was eavesdropping the table next to us saying how good it was. Lovely welcoming atmosphere, and good vibe. Will absolutely come back!

Great little boozer. Went to this place for the first time last week and was really impressed, a proper pub with a good selection of beers. Really friendly chap behind the bar too, will definitely be back.

the bar was fine but food was the worst i've ever had eating out. starter not hot but the tom yum soup was tasteless, shrimps gristly and actually i was sick after just a couple of spoon. i was shocked, as i came here after reading all these great reviews! What happened? The Tom Yum soup was actually inedible... And when I complained they still tried to force me to pay for the soups!!!!!

Who knew a local pub with good prices and excellent entertainment at the weekends.

What a beautiful little gem of a pub! Went there to have a pint mid week and it felt like opening the door to a different world. The bloke behind the counter was nice and took his time pouring my guiness. We sat out in the chill but the I door was equally welcoming and crowded enough. Will try the food sometime but can't really complain about the location and ambience.

Well maintained pub. Tables being cleaned after visitors leave keeping hygiene tip top. Eaten twice here and meals excellent.

Dine for the Just Pnoy Asian Cuisine in here! Food is tasty and good portions! Serving is pleasant too, well accommodated!

Always a friendly welcome and even though we only go when friends of ours are hosting karaoke, we take other friends along with us and we have made friends with the lovely locals too. Lovely pub. Highly recommend.

Great place for a jolly up and good company. More of a working mans pub so good for traders. Shops near by, outside seating. Couldn't ask more of this place. I go a few times a month to relax and catch up. Would recommend to anyone who likes a traditional looking pub with plenty on tap.

Was greeted very kindly by a Irish man who due to the covid-19 placed me on table and selected a beer I wasn't familiar with which was drank sharply and a woman I went on a date with referred to the pub as gods waiting room . My opinion the pub she then took me too was terrible. If im ever in the area I'd pop my head back in .lovely service. 👍🏾

The ale is usually ok, not a bad choice, staff are good, football, cricket & horse racing on tv.

Had the most amazing night at the smugglers inn last night Roy C and Rachy b great love the karaoke and the the show they both put on last night very professional made me feel like a Star!! I always do when I’m there and John the boss man always makes you feel extremely welcome Bar staff are amazing atmosphere great love this pub can’t wait to come again

I had an enjoyable evening at The Smugglers Inn. Friendly bar staff and a good atmosphere. It was karaoke night and i must say Roy C and Rachel were excellent hosts making everyone feel welcome. The soud was very very good including the microphones and lights. Met some very nice people too. Will definitely be going again. Phil

Always assured of a warm welcome

I must admit we were apprehensive about venturing in, not quite sure what to expect behind the frosted glass windows. However, we were pleasantly surprised (and relieved). The pub had character and characters. We only stayed for a pint, but liked the branded glasses which matched our lagers. Next time, my mate won’t worry about wearing tracksuit trousers.

Three stars is not exactly fair. This place was filled to the brim, everybody new each other and they all got in early to get a seat. People moving around made it hard to find a place to get any peace. So I give it 3 stars because it's not the sort of place you read a review and go to. It's a locals pub, the only gig in town and would only be a positive experience if you knew everyone.

Typical pub. Nice bar staff and ok selection of drinks. Nice seating area and generally the beer drinks here are friendly. Sometimes too much focus on the football on tv if you are, like me, not interested in football.

A three hand pump sports bar, the beers change regularly and are very well kept, there is no food. A good atmosphere with a wide range of televised sporting and occasional live events.

Best local pub .... A "proper" traditional local pub. friendly & warm staff, great governors . I've had some very memorable nights there . A must visit & judge for yourself ... Top marks from me xxx 👍
